KYOSKE'S POV
I leave our apartment after dropping my stuff I took on the mission and start heading for the guild. I can't be in the apartment when they wake up. One person with a hangover is a handful, two is impossible. I arrive at the guild and walk up to Mira.
"You just had to get them together didn't you?" I asked her. She looked at me with a bit of confusion.
"What do you mean… They didn't." Mira said excitedly. A grin spread across her face. I groaned.
"Mira, do you know what this means for me? It means I have to deal with two drunks" I said holding two fingers up.
"Oh come on Kyoske she can still take care of you. Besides if you don't like living with them you can go on missions and live on your own." Mira said cheerfully. 'She does have a point'. I thought.
"Fine, i'll talk to Ayane when she gets here." I whined. I sat at the count and ordered an orange juice. I looked at the door and saw Levy and Gajeel coming in together. I wonder what he will say when he finds out about Ayane and Bacchus. I smiled, Ayane will get an earful. He opened the door for Levy then saw me. I smiled and waved, he returned the gesture smirking, even Levy gave me a small smile. They went and sat at a small table near the back. So my sister was the reason between those two huh. I looked around some more and saw Natsu and Lucy sitting together, Natsu's arm around a blushing Lucy. Them too… Mira must have noticed me staring.
"Your sister is good at bringing people together." She said to me."She may have wit, but there is something else there too. She is a good person, and I know that you may not like the idea of other people joining your family but think about her feelings." I look to Mira, her eyes looking straight into mine.
"It's just… before we joined this guild it was just me and Ayane. Almost everyday we were together, we trained together, ate together, and lived together. Then we joined this guild and Gajeel became her brother again. She started to go on missions, and spend time with him and I saw her less, we don't eat together anymore. Then today I come home to find her and Bacchus in bed together," Mira smiled at this,"He might become my family too. If I move out then I feel like we won't see each other as much. I just feel like we are staring to drift apart." I sighed finishing off my orange juice.
"Well," Ayane said popping up next to me suddenly. She must have come in while I was talking."If you felt like that Kyoske why didn't you just tell me. And what is this about moving out?" I turned to her and saw Bacchus behind her. I sighed heavily.
"Why are you here I thought you would be hung over for at least another hour or two, Ayane," Mira questioned her. She smiled.
"Well this genius," She said pointing to Bacchus,"has an amazing remedy. I drank it and almost instantly my hangover lessened by half." Then she pouted."But he won't tell me the recipe." Bacchus chuckled.
"Family secret wild thing. But invite me over more often and I may make it for you." He said. That was when Gajeel decided to come over. He yanked Bacchus away from Ayane and took his place next to her.
"Really though Kyoske," Ayane said seriously," what did you say about moving out? Why would you move out?"
"I was just thinking if Bacchus was going to be staying here for awhile, and visiting too, then I just thought that I would give you two your space. I really don't want to be around when you two are drunk." I pictured me in my room and them coming home drunk, god the things I would hear.
"But Kyoske," Ayane whined, I could tell she couldn't back herself up, she knew I was right.
"Fine you can move out, but not more than a half mile away, and I have to have a key, also I will pay for it until you can." She said sounding very motherly. Gajeel was smiling down at her.
"It's funny you sound just like I used to." Gajeel said to her. She looked up at him smirking."The only difference is you weren't as drunk as I usually am." She countered.
AYANE'S POV
Just then the doors opened quietly, none the less still drawing attention. A middle aged couple entered, a woman with flowing brown hair, blue eyes, and a green dress going to her ankles, a large bump protruding from her stomach. The man with snow white hair, and green eyes. They looked very professional, very business like. The man stepped forward and looked around.
"Hello we are looking for a boy, he is our son, he is around 15 years old." He said. Then the woman stepped forward.
"We made a terrible mistake, we abandoned him when he was young, and we recently tracked him down. To here. Me and my husband, Richard, just want our son back. We want a fresh start." While the woman was talking the man was scanning the room. His eyes came to rest on Kyoske. I saw his eyes widen. His wife finished talking and he gently touched her elbow. He pointed to Kyoske, and the woman's eyes also started to widen.
"Oh my beautiful son!" She said running over to him. I tried to process what was happening, I was slowly watching my world unfold in front of me. Kyoske turned to me.
"Ayane what are they talking about? You told me that my parents died. I can't be their son right." I stared at him speechless. I looked at Gajeel who I had told. He didn't seem to know what to do either.
"Oh no sweetie we're right here." The woman said,"we are your real parents. Can't you see the resemblance? This girl lied to you." She looked up to me.
"Ayane?" Kyoske said looking at me. Anger starting to flood his face."Why didn't you tell me Ayane? My parents were alive this whole time. I could have found them! I could have had a normal life!" He started yelling at me. Gajeel started to walk over to help me out but I stopped him. I always had a feeling something like this would happen.
"Kyoske." I said calmly,"I didn't tell you, you're right. But there is a reason that I didn't tell you."I could feel my anger rising, I tried to continue pushing it down." I didn't tell you because they abandoned you. They left you in the snow under a tree. They left you to either be picked up by some stranger or die." The anger was seeping into my voice."They left you, defenseless and vulnerable. I didn't tell you because I never wanted you to feel unwanted. I never wanted you to feel… I never wanted you to have to feel like I felt." I saw Gajeel out of the corner of my eye, his face riddled with guilt, everyone else had a look of pity.
"Kyoske, I tried. I tried to never make you feel unwanted, I tried to give you a fairly normal life. I tried my best to give you as much love as two parents could."
"Yes but, we are here now. We were so young when we had him we thought that maybe we could give him a better life if someone else raised him." I turned angrily towards the woman.
"You were young." I spat out." When I found Kyoske I was younger than you were, I named him, I raised him, and I gave him a childhood. You abandoned him."
"Excuse me miss," The husband said stepping between me and his wife,"but I find it hard to imagine that a juvenile drunkard like yourself could raise a child. I think that we should let Kyoske choose who he would like to go with." The man turned to Kyoske." So Kyoske, who would you rather go with, Your real parents, who made one mistake, who can provide you with lots of things a young boy needs, a home, and soon a little sibling." He said gesturing to his wife. "Or this drunk or lied to you your whole life." The guild was dead silent. The master was watching from the second floor, alongside Laxus and Cana. Everyone was anxiously awaiting Kyoske's decision.
"Hey Ayane, you always told me that family comes first right?" Kyoske said turning to me. I smiled, he was going to pick me.
"Yeah Kyoske, family comes first." I turned to Gajeel smiling, then turned back to Kyoske with my arm open. But I saw him slowly walking backwards.
"I think i'm going to choose my real family." He said walking straight into that womans arms. My world crumbled before me.
"I will come back after I pack, to remove my guild symbol and I would appreciate it if you weren't here." He said coldly, then left the building, with his parents.
MIRA'S POV
After Kyoske left Ayane crumpled to the ground. Kneeling on the floor. Bacchus and Gajeel started to move towards her. Suddenly she raised her fist and punched the floor, leaving a sizable hole.
"Ayane…" Gajeel said slowly moving towards her."Gajeel." I said," I don't think thats a good idea…" he ignored me and slowly approached her.
"Don't touch me." She said in a menacing tone. He extended his arm not listening.
"I SAID DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME!" She screamed then stood up. Her eyes seemed to glow red. Her fist flew threw the air and connected with his face sending him into a wall across the guild. She started to make her way across the guild, people stumbling out of her way. She walked up to the master.
"If I can defeat Mira or Laxus do I have permission to go on an S-class mission? I need to burn off my rage." She said in an almost whisper. The master slightly frightened also noded. With that Ayane walked over to Laxus who smirked.
"Think you can beat me hu-" Laxus's words were cut off by Ayane's fist slamming into him stomach. She withdrew her hand then grasped his face with it sending him into the ground. She then proceeded to throw him from the second floor like a rag doll. She walked over to the S-class bored and grabbed one randomly. Without another word she left.
"You let her win." Makarov said to Laxus who was getting up off the floor.
"I think she can take on an S-class mission. Especially with that punch she just threw. She didn't even use magic." He said back.
"I feel bad for her." I said cleaning a glass,"She keeps losing her family."
