3RD PERSON POV
It had been a week since anyone had seen Ayane. After she had showered the day she returned from her mission, she walked out of the guild without saying a word to anyone. Gajeel had gone to her apartment to check on her but he didn't find her. Some people were starting to get worried. Bacchus started taking up some missions at Fairy Tail, with the masters permission. Gajeel wanted to search for her but master stopped him saying that he had been keeping an eye on her. It helped Gajeel calm down a bit, but he still worried for her well being. Levy had to keep him busy so he wouldn't worry as much. She was even staying at his house some nights so that she could make sure he got sleep. The master decided that Ayane had, had enough time to sulk.
"Mira would you please watch over the guild in my absence?" He sake Mira Jane.
"Of course, but where are you headed." She asked curiously.
"I think it's time to bring Ayane home." He said, then walk out of the guild. The master knew where she would be. He walked to the park and looked around to see families having picnics and kids running about. He looked up at the giant sakura tree, it's branches obscuring anything that could be hidden inside.
Ayane was sitting comfortably on her favorite branch in the sakura tree when she felt another presence with her. She didn't bother to look up, she knew who it was.
"Come to get me?" She asked while staring some kids on the ground, she had her eyes trained on a pair of twins, who were play-fighting. Her eyes were downcast and she was still wearing the clothes Mira gave her. The master sat down across from her. He also watched the children.
"I came to give you a choice." He said wisely. This got Ayane's attention. She looked up raising her eyebrow."You can stay here and sulk, and be alone." He stopped to examine her face, then continued,"or you can come back to the guild where people care for you." He finished.
"All people that care for me eventually leave," She deadpanned. The master sighed.
"I'm going to tell you I once told your brother, Gajeel, There are people in this world who prefer solitude, but there is no one who can withstand it." At this Ayane's eyes widened. Her face then contorted in anger.
"That is bull shit. I was alone for years! I withstood it, I am the one who was betrayed and left alone! I was alone!" She shouted hoping none of the people below could hear her. Her face softened and then she looked down sadly,"I was alone." She mumbled sadly.
"I know." He told her. She dropped to her knees, her arms at her side. "I know" he said closing the distance between them and pulling her into a hug. She stiffened not used to the odd gesture, but soon enough she returned it."You don't have to be alone anymore. There are always going to be people who care for you." He said gently.
"Can we go home now?" She mumbled into his jacket.
"Of course." He said pulling away from the hug, he jumped down and waited for her to follow. She jumped down and wobbled a bit on the landing.
"Damn, i've been in that tree for a week I need a hot meal and a shower." She said smirking at the master."Mind if we stop at my place first?" The master shook his head and followed her to her apartment.
TIMESKIP
After Ayane took a quick shower she got dressed and walked to the guild with the master.
"Thanks." She said happily, looking down at the master, who grinned back at her.
"I help all my children when they are in need." He told her, and continued walking.
"I owe the guild an apology." Ayane told him. He nodded not saying anything. They walked in comfortable silence until they reached the opened the door for master then followed him in. Her entrance attracted many stares from the crowd. She sighed.
"Everyone." She started."I owe you an apology, I worried you and I am sorry I will try to not do it again." She finished. She looked around the room for Gajeel, but only finding a smiling Bacchus. She ran over to him and surprised him by greeting him with a hug. She smiled up at him.
"I owe you a special apology." She put her head against his chest, not being able to look at him."I was devastated when Kyouske left because I lost someone who cared about me, but now I realize I have people here who care for me, specifically: you." She finished blushing slightly. He was the only one to ever make her blush.
"The truth is I was devastated when I woke up and you were gone that one morning." He admitted."I wish you had stuck around, and now that i've found you again there is no way i'm leaving you." He too was also blushing. He leaned down and snuck a kiss from Ayane. Ayane heard Mira trying to hold back cheers of joy. Ayane smiled evilly, she looked at her and mouthed 'you're next', and pointed to Freid. Mira's smiled dropped and she looked awestricken.
"Hey where's Gajeel? Wouldn't he be threatening to kill you by now?" Ayane asked Bacchus. He chuckled at her question.
"Yeah he would, but he is on a mission with Levy. She has been doing everything to keep him from worrying about you. Which is extremely hard, he is one overbearing brother." Bacchus joked.
"Yeah well he has a lot to make up for." Ayane said wrapping her arms around his waist. His were currently on her hips. They were in our own little world, until they heard,
"GET YOUR FILTHY HANDS OFF MY SISTER!" Ayane laughed and grabbed Bacchus's hand.
"Run!" She playfully yelled."Trust me." He did as he was told and ran towards the door."See you later bro!" Ayane playfully yelled, pulling Bacchus behind her. Gajeel tried to chase them but found that he couldn't move his feet, they were frozen to the ground.
"Dammit." He cursed under his breath, Levy giggled.
"Let them be Gajeel. Come on let's go to your house." She said in a sly tone. Gajeel blushed and followed her happily.
