BACCHUS'S POV

After me and Ayane got back to her place she put in a movie and sat down on the couch, patting the seat next to her. I walked over and sat next to her, I inched my hand over to hers and held it. Awhile into the movie I felt Ayane's breath on my neck. I looked done to see she had fallen asleep. I chuckled lightly, and ever so lightly picked her up and carried her to her bedroom. I laid her down and took off her jacket, her boots, and her jeans. She must have not slept much in the last week. I lay down next to her and put my arm around her. After a few minutes I fall asleep also.

"No." I heard Ayane say. I looked at the clock on her bedside table and it was 3:34 am. I looked down at Ayane who was squirming around. She must have woken me up, but she doesn't usually move around in her sleep. When I examined her closer I noticed she had a thin layer of sweat on her.

"Don't." She mumbled in her sleep. My brows furrowed, should I wake her? She seemed like she was having a bad dream, or maybe a nightmare. She was curled up in a fetal position, and was starting to worry me. She whimpered and I decided to wake her. I couldn't see her like this. Before I moved to wake her I saw her scar. Could it be from that? I reached my arm out and shook her gently at first. She only whimpered again and pulled herself in tighter. I shook her with more force this time. This time she woke up shouting.

"GAJEEL NO!" She shouted bolting upright. She was breathing heavily, and looking around frantically. I cupped her face with my hands and tried to calm her.

"Ayane," I said in my most soothing tone,"it's okay, i'm here. You're okay." She calmed down rather quickly and regained her composure. Her breathing returned to normal and she looked me in the eyes, she looked away as quickly as she had looked at me."Are you alright? What was your dream about?" I questioned her.

"I'm fine!" She snapped at me. She scooted away from me and pulled her knees as close as she could to her chest."I think you should sleep in one of the other bedrooms tonight." She said quietly. I stared at her in disbelief, what was with her sudden cold attitude? Was it her dream causing her to act like this? What exactly did Gajeel do in the night mare? I got out of the bed, grabbed my things and went to another bedroom down the hall. I knew one thing for sure, I was going to ask Gajeel about it tomorrow.

TIME SKIP

GAJEEL'S POV

I woke up with the sun hitting my eyes, I grunted and started to climb out of bed, only to be stopped by a small arm. I suddenly remembered the previous night and a huge grin spread across my face. I finally mated with Levy. I looked over to see a little mound of hair poking out of the covers. I hover over her and whisper in her ear.

"Wake up, my beautiful mate." I hear her groan and watch as she turns over.

"Morning Gajeel." She said with the smile that made my heart flutter. I don't even care if i'm saying all this girly shit. She completes me.

"As much as I would love to stay here all day with you… I need to check on my sister." I said gauging her face for emotion.

"I understand." She said grinning."I would like to see her too."

"How did I get so lucky?" I asked kissing her and climbing out of bed. I started to get dressed along with Levy. When we were done we headed out to the guild. The walk there we talked about how we thought Ayane was doing. I was looking at the sky when I hear a small thud behind me. I look back to where Levy is on the ground.

"I tripped…" She said blushing. I smiled, only Levy could trip on flat ground. I walked back over to her and lifted her onto my shoulders. She laughed and I smiled. I didn't think I could be this happy. She weaved her hands through my hair and I continued to walk with her. On our way to the guild we met up with Salamander and Bunny girl, who were laughing and holding hands. We walked together chatting then walked in a comfortable silence. We reached the guild and I put Levy on the ground. Me and the Salamander opened the doors for the girls then followed. I was going to the bar when Bacchus walked up to me.

"What did you do to Ayane?" He asked, seemingly angry. I looked at him in surprise. Levy came over to see what was wrong."Answer me! What did you do to Ayane?"

Levy reached out to grab Bacchus's arm."Bacchus can we please talk about this somewhere more private? Please?" She asked gently. He nodded then walked out front. I followed him unenthusiastically.

"So what did you do to her?" He asked."Last night she was whimpering in her sleep she was in a cold sweat, then she bolted out of bed and yelled 'Gajeel no!' What was that all about huh?"

"Bacchus before he explains just let me remind you he is not that kind of person anymore." Levy pleaded.

"What are you talking about?" He asked confused.

"I used to be in a dark guild." I told him."But even before that I was just a regular kid taking care of his twin sister after our dragons left. We were happy ya know? But then this master of a dark guild came along and he wanted me to join, but he didn't want I Ayane. She was too weak, so I said no. I didn't think about it at first but then Ayane started to get sick. I needed money that I didn't have, so I joined the dark guild and I sent Ayane money as much as I could. The guild master didn't like that though, he told me to… 'take care' of Ayane. I didn't want to, but the master forced me." I paused. Bacchus was red with rage, but he didn't lunge at me just yet. "I did as my master said and I took her to a secluded place… then I struck her down. That scar she has, it was me. I thought she had died, but then a couple of months ago she showed up at the guild and I thought that this was my chance to be a brother again. I'm a different person now. I am never going to hurt her again."

"You…" Bacchus stopped. He stay silent, thinking."If it was me I would have never forgiven you, you're lucky that Ayane is… Ayane." He said. I could tell he was trying not to punch me, I smirked at his comment.

"He really is a better person Bacchus." Levy said trying to help.

"I believe that." He replied nicely. He then looked to me," You should still go and see her I think that nightmare really shook her."

"I will." I replied turning towards the direction of her apartment.

"And Gajeel, if you hurt her ever again, there will be hell to pay." He shouted towards me.

"Trust me I know."
