Chapter XV
A Few Good Men
In the Woods
A Man and the Vampire
A man was backpacking through the woods near the church ruins. He heard the sounds of twigs snapping and turned around, coming face to face with the vampire from the tomb, which still looked hungry.
"Jeez! You scared me." The man said to the vampire.
"Do you know what day it is?" The vampire asked to the man.
"Saturday." The man answered to the vampire.
"And what year?" The vampire asked once again.
"It's 2010. Are you okay?" The man asked to the vampire worried.
"Thank you." The vampire thanked to the man.
"Wait, what's your name?" The man asked once again to the vampire.
"It's Harper, sir." The vampire answered with the respect he had in 1864 to his sires.
"How did you get out here? And why are you dressed like that?" The man asked to Harper inching closer to him, while observing him too.
"You seem like a very nice person. I'm sorry." Harper apologized to the man because he was being nice to him.
"Sorry for what?" The man asked him and Harper extended his fangs and bite down on the man's neck. The man started to scream loudly. Harper had had killed the man draining him completely. Then he took his clothes, dressing himself with the clothes of the man. He started to pat himself when he heard a cell phone started to ring on the man's pockets pants. Confused by this, Harper took the phone out of the pocket and throws it into the ground. Then, he left the woods rather quickly.

Elena and Eva
Elena was sitting on the porch swing, her journal was laid out on her lap and her phone up to her ear as she leaves Bonnie a voicemail, while Eva was finishing a song that she was writing about what had happened to Damon the night before.
"Hey, Bonnie, it's me just checking in, seeing how you're doing. Eva and I miss you here. We miss you here, I mean all of us. Don't let your aunt drive you too crazy. Come home soon. Love you." Elena said into the phone. Then she hanged up the phone and turned to her sister. "How is going your new song, Eva?" Elena asked to her sister. Elena loved hear her sister singing and read her songs.
"It's coming. But looks good." Eva said smiling.
"We never hang out together anymore. Since Stefan and Damon came into town we stopped to hang out and talk." Elena said to her sister with a sad look.
"How about we hang out today, only the two of us?" Eva asked suggesting to her sister.
"Agreed." Elena said smiling and then Jenna walked up onto the porch and stopped to look at her nieces talking while sipping her coffee.
Elena, Eva and Jenna
"What are you doing out here? It's cold." Jenna asked to her nieces.
"Thinking, writing. The, uh, funeral for Bonnie's grandma, it brought back a lot about mom and dad. I was wondering... you said that you would do some digging about them, the adoption." Elena explained to Jenna.
"It was difficult seeing that and remembering about mom and dad. Did you find anything about that?" Eva said to Jenna remembering about the adoption papers.
"Right." Jenna confirmed.
"So did you? Dig?" Elena pressed Jenna once again.
"Come on inside, girls." Jenna told them. Both sisters and Jenna went inside the house and went into the dining room.
Dining Room
Elena, Eva and Jenna
Jenna pulled out her laptop and sat down at the dining table and both girls stood next to her, removing their jackets.
"Your dad kept everything from his medical practice… records, logs, old appointment books." She said pulling out a journal and opening it, showing a page to them. "I found an entry from the night you both were born. Patient and a birth date. Isobel Peterson."
"Do you think that's her real name?" Elena asked Jenna interested.
"A pregnant teenage runaway? Probably not. First name, maybe. But where would she get the name Peterson? Classmate? Best friend? So I binged it." Jenna explained to the girls and then she pulled up the Internet and typed in a name in the search engine. "I searched for all the Peterson's in this area born the same year as Isobel, found three Peterson's, two men and a woman, Trudie, who lived in Grove Hill, Virginia." Jenna explained to the girls once again.
"That's not far from here." Eva stated to Elena looking at her.
"Well, watch this." Jenna told them once again and typed something else into the search engine. Then she pulled up an image of Isobel from high school.
"Isobel." Elena said looking at the picture with a smile. "She was a cheerleader." Elena said looking at her sister.
"Just like us." Eva said smiling at Elena.
"Trudie still lives there." Jenna said and handed to Elena a post-it note. "This is her address." Jenna said.
"What about Isobel?" Eva asked Jenna.
"I couldn't find anything about her." Jenna told them and both girls looked disheartened as they sat down at the table. Jenna briefly paused before divulging new information that she had got. "Listen. There's something else. Mr. Saltzman, Ric, his wife was from around here, and her name was also Isobel." Jenna finally said. That Isobel could be the twins' biological mother.
"Wait. was, as in..." Elena started.
"She died." Jenna confirmed the girls suspicions.
Salvatore Boarding House
Living Room
Damon and Eva
Eva was sitting down beside Damon on the living room. She had come to see how he was doing. Damon was drinking some bourbon and happy that Eva came to check on him but he saw that she was little different from yesterday.
"How are you?" Eva asked him touching his arm.
"Dealing and you?" Damon asked her sipping some bourbon.
"Nothing new but Jenna gave me and Elena some information about my birth mother but nothing about my birth father." Eva told Damon.
"I hope you can find some answers about the questions you have." Damon said to Eva hoping that she could finally know the truth about her origins.
"Thank you. I have to go. Elena and I are going to see this information we got. Be careful, okay?" Eva told him worried.
"I will and you; be careful too, okay?" Damon pleaded with her.
"I will. Don't worry." Eva said smiling at him.
"If you need anything you call me, okay?" Damon suggested to him.
"I will and you don't kill anyone, do you hear me?" Eva said to him with a hint of a smile on her face. Damon looked at her and started to laugh at her position. She had her hands on her hips like she was scowling him if he was a child. Then both started to laugh together until Eva had to leave to meet her sister.
Elena's Bedroom
Elena and Stefan
Elena was putting away clothes in her drawer. Stefan stood behind her as they discussed this new turn of events. Some clues that Jenna gave to the twins, earlier this morning about their birth mother.
"Alaric's wife might have been your mother?" Stefan asked Elena worried.
"It can't be true, right?" Elena said sighing. "I mean, the coincidence alone is just crazy." She said turning around to look at Stefan and held up the post-it note. "I have the address for her friend Trudie." She showed to Stefan.
"You wanna talk to her." Stefan stated knowing a little about Elena.
"I don't know. I… I… I don't know. If it's true and they are the same person, that means that my birth mother is dead, and I don't know if I could handle that." Elena explained to her boyfriend.
"Elena, did Jenna tell you anything about Alaric's wife? How she died?" Stefan asked Elena hoping he wouldn't have to tell her the truth.
"Just that she was killed and the case was never solved." Elena told him and Stefan nodded at this prior knowledge. Elena looked at him, surprised. "You knew that already?" Elena asked him surprised.
"The night at the school when Alaric attacked me, he told me some things about her death." Stefan explained to Elena.
"Well…" Elena started.
"No, no." Stefan said and grabbed gently Elena's wrist. "It's not possible. The coincidence is… it's too much. Now, listen, if you do decide to go talk to Isobel's friend, I'll go with you. Okay?" Stefan suggested to Elena not remembering that Eva wanted to go with Elena.
"I just don't know what I'm gonna do yet." Elena said wrapping her arms around Stefan's neck and they embraced each other lovingly. "And if I'm going, Eva is coming with me. Today Eva and I are going hanging out together just the two of us. It's a long time we don't do that." Elena explained to Stefan.
"I'm glad that your sister is going with you and that you two are hanging out together because you deserve to spend the day together." Stefan told her smiling. "I should get going. I gotta go deal with Damon." Stefan explained to Elena.
"How's he doing?" Elena asked worried.
"He's dealing in his own way." Stefan told her knowing that his brother was feeding from the humans again. "Eva is already here." Stefan said to his girlfriend hearing Eva's footsteps coming closer to his girlfriend bedroom.
Elena, Eva and Stefan
"Come in, Eva." Elena said to her sister before she could knock.
"How did you know that it was me?" Eva said with curiosity.
"Stefan heard it." Elena said laughing.
"Right." Eva said not knowing what to say anymore, and then she turned to Stefan to talk about Damon. "I went earlier to the Boarding House to see Damon." Eva said to Stefan with a worried look.
"How was he? Doing something stupid?" Stefan asked worriedly.
"No. He was drinking bourbon and looking into the fire." Eva said to Stefan hoping that Damon wouldn't do something really stupid.
"Okay. I'm glad and now I'm leaving." Stefan stated and kissed Elena on her lisps very softly. Then he turned to the sisters. "I'm leaving for you two have your sister day." He said laughing and finally left them alone.
Elena and Eva
When they were left alone, Eva went to her sister's bed. She was waiting that Elena ended what she was doing for them to talk about their birth mother and what was going to be their next step.
"Done." Elena said and turned to her sister. "What do you wanna do?" She asked her twin sister.
"Do you wanna go talk with that friend of our birth mother?" Eva asked her sister.
"Yeah. I wanna meet her and you?" Elena asked her sister.
"Me too. I wanna at least know why she abandoned us and who our biological father is and why he didn't come for us." Eva explained to her twin sister.
"Yeah. Since Stefan told us that we were adopted I wanted to know the reasons they did that." Elena said looking with a sad look on her face.
"And most of all, if Alaric's wife is our biological mother or not." Eva said with a sigh.
"I know." Elena agreed with Eva. "Let's go right now." Elena said picking her jacket and then both twins left Elena's room with that objective on their minds. The truth.
Salvatore Boarding House
Living Room
Damon
Damon was at the Boarding House having a party with sororities' girls. He was feeding off a young sorority girl while there were other girls dancing to the music around the living room. All of the girls had bite marks up and down their bodies. Damon came up for air after feeding from the girl.
"How do I taste?" The girl asked Damon with a dazzled look.
"Oh, so much better than your friends." Damon said smirking. "But shhh. Don't tell them. They might get jealous." Damon said to the girl. Then the lights come on. Stefan entered the room.
Damon and Stefan
"No! Buzz kill Bob." Damon said and Stefan went to turn the music off. The raven haired looked up at his younger brother. "Greetings." Damon said sarcastically at his brother.
"Can we talk?" Stefan asked to his brother.
"Yeah." Damon agreed with his brother.
"Without the Tri-Delts." Stefan stated to Damon.
"Anything you have to say to me, you can say in front of them. They're really good at keeping secrets." Damon said implying that the girls were compelled not to say anything they see and hear. Stefan sighed and got his way through and Damon followed his brother into a private corner to talk while the girls were sitting around the sofas. The older Salvatore had a bottled of bourbon in his hand. "You're worried about me. That's nice. Don't be. There's no need. I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be? I spent the last 145 years with one goal: get in that tomb. I succeeded. Granted, Dannielle wasn't in there to be rescued, but why dwell? You know, it's so liberating not having a master plan, because I can do whatever the hell I want." Damon said being sarcastic to hide the hurt on his face and eyes.
"That's kind of what I'm afraid of." Stefan said worried.
"Relax. I haven't killed anyone in…" Damon said sighing. "Too long." He finally said.
"Those girls?" The younger Salvatore asked with a worried look.
"Will end up in their dorm with headaches, think they blacked out. Its business as usual, as you know. Predictable you didn't pull me over here for a pep talk. So drink up." Damon said and pushed the bottle into Stefan's chest. "Spill it, brother." He said to his brother already knowing what he wanted.
"There was a woman you may have known a few years back named Isobel in North Carolina at Duke." Stefan told him and after grabbing the bottle, he placed it on his side.
"You wanna discuss the women in my past right now? Seriously?" Damon asked Stefan surprised by his brother question.
"You killed her." Stefan stated to Damon.
"What's your point?" Damon asked his brother already suspecting something.
"I just… just wanna know if you remember anything about her." Stefan said to his brother hoping that he wouldn't suspect anything.
"Oh, it's like a needle in a haystack, Stefan." Damon said sarcastically to his brother.
"Well, think hard. It's important." Stefan pleaded to his brother.
"Nothing is important, not anymore." Damon said on Stefan's ear after grasping his brother's shoulder. Then he clapped Stefan on the same shoulder and pulled away. Then he grabbed the bottle from Stefan's hand and started to walk back to the girls. "Great chat. I have to go and exploit some women in the name of grief, which I'm sure you understand. TTFN, said the Tri-Delts."

Caroline and Matt
Matt and Caroline were on the couch, watching TV on his house. Matt's arm was slung over Caroline's shoulder. Caroline made a huffing noise and after hearing the huffing tone from Caroline, Matt muted the TV and looked over at her.
"What?" Matt asked surprised.
"This is boring. I'm bored." Caroline stated to him.
"Wow." Matt said not knowing what to say.
"But we have this entire house to ourselves. I mean, it's practically a bachelor pad." She stated hoping that Matt could take the hint.
"And..." Matt said smiling making her to say what she really wanted to do.
"So shouldn't we do something a little bit more bachelor-paddy?" Caroline suggested him.
"What? Something like this?" Matt asked her lifting her chin up and kissed her and then pulled away smiling.
"Something like that." Caroline said smiling.
"I don't know." Matt said turning away from her and unmuting the TV. "This is a pretty good show." He told her smirking.
"Seriously?" Caroline asked him and hit him at the same time. Then she crossed her arms and giggled. Matt pushed her down on the couch she started to laugh as she wrapped her legs around his waist. They had begun to kiss each other passionately when that escalated Matt removed his shirt and Caroline removed hers and they continued to kiss each other.
"Oh, god." A woman said when saw Caroline and Matt's position. Then Matt looked up suddenly. His mother was standing in the doorframe looking at them. "Not on my couch, Matt." She said to her son.
"Mom! Hey." Matt greeted his mother and covered Caroline up with a pillow. Caroline placed her hands on her face, completely embarrassed with what had happened.

Alaric and Jenna
Alaric and Jenna were hanging up a banner, outside, for the Founder's Fundraiser. They were talking about the fundraiser and what that contained.
"I don't know. It's just weird, you know, me being raffled off like a Disney Cruise." He said to her laughing.
"In this town, fundraising is like indentured servitude. You don't have a choice. Besides, you're a bachelor, and you're eligible, so there you go." Jenna told him about the events the town had.
"Here. Let me help you with this." Alaric said moving to the side of the banner that Jenna was attempting to hang up. After Alaric helped her hang up the banner, Jenna smiled up at him. Then, Alaric leaned in and kissed Jenna, after pulling from each other, Jenna looked like she was windswept.
"Oh, god. I can't believe I'm gonna do this." Jenna said already regretting what she was going to say.
"What?" Alaric said surprised at her.
"I am totally going to ruin this moment, but I… I have to tell you. Elena and Eva, recently found out they were adopted, and they have been looking for their birth mother... whose name was Isobel." Jenna said to Alaric a little hesitant.
"Isobel? Like my wife?" Alaric asked a little taken back and Jenna nodded confirming what he had asked. "Isobel never had a baby." Alaric said knowing that he never had children with Isobel and she had never told him that she had had children before they had married.
"Are you sure? Not before you were together?" Jenna tried to confirm with him.
"Nope. No way." Alaric said in denial. Jenna then took out her phone and handed it to Alaric. There was a picture of Isobel on the screen.
"This is Eva and Elena's birth mother." Jenna said to Alaric showing the picture.
"Ah, she, uh… she never told me." Alaric said alarmed. "I, uh… I'm gonna go. Yeah, I'm gonna… gonna go." He said and awkwardly walked off. Jenna sighed heavily. This wasn't going to be easy for them, Elena, Eva and Alaric.

Elena, Eva and Trudie
Elena was holding up the Post-It note with Trudie's address and then looked up at the house which matches the address. Eva was beside her sister worried. Elena and at her sister and both of them nodded at each other. They decided to go there and ask what they needed to ask. Then, they started to walk up to the front door and preparing to knock, but Elena hesitated for a moment. Finally, she worked up the courage, and knocked on the door. Elena and Eva looked at each other, and with fear they shook their heads and turned away when Trudie answered the door. Both girls looked at her.
"Trudie? Trudie Peterson?" Elena asked with fear that they had come up to the wrong house.
"Yes?" Trudie asked to the girls.
"Uh, my name is Elena Gilbert and this is my twin sister, Eva Gilbert. I wanted to talk to you about Isobel Fleming." Elena explained to Trudie.
"Well, I haven't heard that name in years. How do you know her?" Trudie asked to the girls already with knowing look.
"I think that, um, well... do you know if she had two babies, both twins, that she gave up for adoption?" Elena asked her unsure.
"About seventeen years ago?" Eva finished the question.
"My god. You two are her daughters." Trudie said laughing. "I was just gonna make some tea. Would you like some?" She invited the girls.
"Sure." Elena agreed.
"Yes, thank you." Eva agreed with her sister.
"Uh, the kitchen's this way." Trudie said indicating the way. Trudie backs away from the door, anticipating Eva and Elena's entrance. Both girls stepped over the threshold and Trudie released her breath, shutting the front door with a quick nervous glance outside. Both girls were human and not vampires.

Elena, Eva and Trudie
Elena and Eva removed their jackets. Trudie walked into the room from the kitchen. She was nervous about something.
"We weren't gonna come. We didn't think we were, but I was driving, and I hit this stoplight, and it made me think about when I was learning how to drive and then my mom would always warn me about this blind turn on the left-hand side, and then I was thinking about my mom, and… had your address. I'm sorry for barging in." Elena rambled and then apologized for her and Eva.
"I'm sorry too. We just wanna know her and why she gave us for adoption." Eva explained to Trudie.
"It's no problem. Um, just a surprise, though." Trudie told the girls. Then both of them sat down on the table. "I haven't thought about Isobel in years." Trudie confessed to the twins.
"Please. We really wanna know her. Just a little bit." Eva pleaded with Trudie.
"When was the last time you saw her?" Eva asked her with curiosity.
"About 17 years ago, when she left to go have you. We kept in touch for a while, but, well, you know, people drift apart." Trudie explained to them.
"And you don't know where she ended up?" Elena asked Trudie. It looked that the girls were question the woman like she was a criminal.
"She was in Florida for a while. She was on her own. I know it wasn't easy." Trudie told to the girls. She really wanted to tell them everything she knew about their mother.
"Do you have any idea who might be our father?" Eva asked her. The girls were taking turns in asking questions.
"I could never get her to fess up. Anyway, she finally pulled it together, got into college on a scholarship." Trudie told them smiling.
"Where did she go?" Elena asked Trudie. She wanted to know if it was Alaric's wife, which could be their mother.
"Somewhere in North Carolina. Duke, I think. Smart girl, smart school." Trudie told them when the kettle starts whistling from the kitchen. "Let me just grab that." She told the girls and got up and went into the kitchen, looking back at them. When she was alone, she took her phone out of her pocket and send a text saying "They are here" to an unknown number. Then she picked up the kettle and prepared the rest of the tea for them to take on the living room.

Kelly and Matt
Matt was making breakfast and talking to his mother. He hoped she was here to stay since Vicki was missing.
"So, it's been a few months. Where've you been?" Matt asked her with curiosity.
"Ah, you know, here and there. Never one place too long. You know Pete." Kelly told her son.
"No, actually, I don't. Because you never brought him around." Matt said to his mother pissed at her because she was never around. Kelly didn't say anything to deny and walked over to her son, changing the subject of their conversation.
"So blonde's the new flavor of the month, huh? So sorry I scared her off." Kelly said not feeling sorry what so ever.
"She's not a flavor, Mom. I like her." Matt defended Caroline.
"So she's the one?" Kelly asked him hoping that his answer was no.
"No, probably not, but maybe." Matt told her hoping she would just shut up.
"Mattie, seriously, Lizzie Forbes' daughter? Eck." Kelly said and grabbed a clean glass from the sink. Then she opened the fridge, grabbed a bottle of vodka and sat down on the table.
"Mom, seriously knock it off." Matt told his mother because it was morning and she was already getting drunk.
"Ice, please?" Kelly asked her son and held it her glass out. Matt took it and opened the fridge and placed some ice on the glass.
"So, uh, you heard from Vic?" Matt asked his mother and handed it the glass to her while she poured some vodka in it.
"No, but don't worry. She'll come home eventually when she needs something. I played that game." Kelly said Matt trying to reassure her son.
"Are you playing it now?" Matt asked to be sure that his mother wouldn't do something stupid once again.
"No." Kelly told him with a serious tone.
"Then what are you doin' home?" Matt asked with a serious voice.
"Are you trying to say I need a reason to come back? Sit down. Eat with me." Kelly said to him and Matt grabbed his breakfast off the stove. Then he sat down across the table and from his mother.
"Tell me everything I've missed, hmm." Kelly said to Matt already itching for some gossip about the town.

Stefan milled around in the Town Square, he was looking for the history teacher. Alaric walked up to him after find him looking for himself.
"Thanks for meeting me. Something's come up." Alaric stated to him.
"Jenna told you." Stefan stated to him.
"Yeah." Alaric sighed.
"So it's true. Your wife Isobel was Eva and Elena's birth mother." Stefan wondered.
"What do the girls know?" Alaric asked with curiosity.
"About your wife?" Stefan sighed and crossed his arms over his chest.
"About everything. About you, your brother." Alaric asked Stefan.
"They know what I am, and they know that you know about the vampires." Stefan explained to Alaric.
"Do they know about Damon and Isobel?" Alaric asked him worried about the girls instead of Damon.
"No. I couldn't tell them, especially to Eva, not until I was sure." Stefan stated.
"Why is that?" Alaric asked him.
"Eva is already too close to Damon. She has feelings for him." Stefan explained to Alaric hoping that he wouldn't ask any more questions.
"You said you'd help me." Alaric stated to him.
"I asked Damon without saying too much. He doesn't remember." Stefan said tired of giving explanations to Alaric.
"Ask him again." Alaric ordered to Stefan.
"Damon is not stable right now." Stefan started to warn Alaric.
"You know, he murdered my wife, or at the very least made a meal out of her. When has he been stable?" Alaric wondered sarcastically.
"I'm telling you not to push this." Stefan continued warning Alaric.
"Give me a reason not to." Alaric said to him in a stoning tone.
"Your survival. How's that for a reason? I'll handle it, but for now, I need you to let it go for now." Stefan pleaded to Alaric.
"Is that what you'll tell them? Let it go?" Alaric asked Stefan with a wondering voice. Then Stefan moved closer to Alaric until they were merely inches apart from each other.
"Leave them out of this." Stefan said to Alaric threateningly.
"I need to know what happened. I think you would, too." Alaric said sighing.
"I need something more than just your wife's name. A picture, something I could show Damon." Stefan breathed out and backed away a bit. Then Alaric retrieved a photo from his wallet and handed it to Stefan. The vampire took it and walked away.

Alaric and Isobel's Apartment
Alaric and Isobel
Alaric was awakening to the sound of typing on a keyboard. He sat up groggily. Isobel was typing away on her computer.
"Is." He called her by her nickname.
"Just a few more minutes." Isobel pleaded to her husband.
"Can't you, uh, can't you finish this in the morning?" Alaric asked his wife.
"But I like working at night." Isobel turned around and looked at him.
"Yeah, see, I like sleeping at night. With you here." Alaric said to her. Then Isobel turned back to her computer and continued typing away. Alaric sighed and sat up in the bed. "Okay, I'll bite. What is it, thesis stuff?" He asked her. His wife stopped writing and bite her lip but doesn't tell him. "Look, baby, I'm in a three-way here with you and your computer, the least you can do is let me know what you're up to." He pleaded to her while she got up from her desk and walked over to him.
"I was doing research, and I dug up all this stuff about this small town in Virginia near where I grew up. It's isolated, out of the way, and quiet. And every now and then, people die mysteriously, and they say that it is animal attacks. Except, these bodies are drained of blood." She explained to Alaric and Alaric looked at her confused. Then after her pause she continued. "It's vampires. It has to be." Isobel said finally.
"Okay. I'll get my garlic and holy water, and then maybe, just maybe..." Alaric said laughing because he didn't believe in the supernatural.
"No." Isobel rolled her eyes and hit Alaric with a pillow.
"We can get some sleep. Come here." Alaric said and went to grab Isobel.
"No." She stated ready to get up again.
"Look, this is why I love you, because you believe in all of this stuff. So much so that you're making a degree out of it. You're like Mulder, except hotter and a girl." Alaric said to her while caressing her face. Isobel rolled her eyes and pushed Alaric down on the bed, moving on top of him.
"This is not a joke, Ric. You think that this is cute, but I'm gonna prove it." Isobel said to him while kissed him and then scooted of the bed and then headed back to her computer. "And Mulder was right in the end."

Elena, Eva and Trudie
The girls and Trudie were looking through an old yearbook. Trudie pointed out a picture of her and Isobel.
"Ah. They came to the games for us. The football team hadn't won in years. We were the stars. Well, Izzie was. But I was a damn good backup." Trudie said smiling.
"Heh. This is great. Thank you." Elena said smiling.
"Yes, thank you so much. You don't know how this means to us." Eva agreed with her sister, Elena.
"You're welcome." She said and then looked at the girls' teacup. Eva had drunk the tea but Elena didn't. "You haven't touched your tea." She told Elena.
"Oh. Yeah." Elena said remembering her tea. Then she picked the cup up and took a sip of the tea. She furrowed her brow at the taste of it and gave it a whiff. Eva looked strangely at her sister's face. "What is this?" Elena asked.
"Oh, it's just some herbal mixture." Trudie gave the excuse to Elena.
"Vervain?" Elena asked surprised and Trudie didn't respond to her question. Eva looked completely surprised.
"You know." Eva stated already doing the math after her sister's comment.
"Know what?" Trudie asked playing dumb.
"You didn't invite us in, and you're serving vervain tea. You know." Elena stated to them. Trudie stood up.
"You were nervous watching us enter inside the house." Eva stated backing up Elena in the facts.
"I think that you should probably leave." Trudie said to them hoping they wouldn't ask more questions.
"Wait. What are you not telling us?" Elena asked placing her cup down.
"Please leave. Now!" Trudie pleaded to Elena and Eva.
"Please tell us. We just want the truth!" Eva pleaded to Trudie once again.
"No! Just leave!" Trudie said once again to the twins. Both girls got up and left the house. As they walked back to their car, Eva grabbed the keys from Elena's hands because she was nervous, they saw a man standing in the middle of the road. As fast as Eva could, she unlocked the car door, which Elena and Eva got in and ignited the engine and drove off. The man slowly walked down the street towards where Elena and Eva had their car parked.

Alaric was sitting at the bar, drinking a glass of bourbon. Damon walked up to the bar and stood next to him. Then he turned to the barman.
"Bourbon." Damon asked to the barman. Then he sat down beside Alaric, who was drinking some bourbon too. The bartender poured the bourbon into a glass and pushed it towards him. "Behold the teacher. Don't you have some papers to grade?" Damon asked sarcastically to him.
"It's, uh, more fun with a buzz." Alaric said sarcastically.
"Well, most things in life are. Sober is depressing." Damon said to him.
"You don't strike me as somebody who gets depressed." Alaric said trying to get information from him.
"You say that like you know me." Damon said starting to get suspicious about Alaric's questions.
"Nope. Just a hunch." Alaric finally said and exchanged a long look with Damon. Then, he finished his drink and placed it down on the bar. "You have a good afternoon." He said and prepared to leave.
"Not likely." Damon told him and Alaric got up and left the bar. Damon continued at the bar drinking and observing the people inside. Who he was going to use to feed tonight? Then Liz Forbes came to talk to him.

"Daytime drinking, huh?" Liz asked him.
"It's all the rage." Damon said sarcastically.
"Listen, I need a favor." Liz asked to Damon.
"You ever been in love?" Damon asked her still thinking about Danielle.
"Excuse me?" Liz asked him surprised about his question.
"Have you ever been so bent on someone, just to have your heart ripped out by them over and over?" He asked her.
"You forget I was married." Liz stated to him.
"Right. Gay husband." He said remembering about Liz husband then he gestured to the barman. "She'll have what I'm having." He said to the bartender, which he poured another glass of bourbon. "Sit down." Damon said and patting down the chair.
"There's a fundraiser here tonight that the Founder's Council is throwing. The town's most eligible bachelors get raffled off for dates, and, well, we're short a bachelor." Liz said after she sat down on the chair besides Damon.
"Is this what you do when there's no, um..." Damon started and lowered his voice to talk about some serious tone. "Vampires? Organize bachelor raffles?" He asked her.
"Oh, trust me." Liz said laughing. "At this point, I miss the vampires. Look, you're a hero to this town, Damon. I know most people don't know it, but you are, and you're single and a catch. Oh, come on, help me out. Carol Lockwood won't let me live it down if I come up empty-handed." Liz asked once again to Damon.
"You know, a room full of women clamoring to win a date with me. Sounds tasty." He said smirking thinking he could win a date with Eva.
"Thank you." Liz laughed relieved that he had accepted.
"One thing. Can you get information on someone for me? Alaric Saltzman, the history teacher. There's just something a little off about him, and I just…" Damon asked Liz and tried to find a excuse for that request. "I just wanna make sure that the high school did their homework on this guy." He told her his reasons.
"You got it." Liz told him getting up.
"Thanks." He thanked her and Liz departed while Damon took a swig from his glass of bourbon and asked for another.

A Man and Trudie
The doorbell rang and Trudie answered the door. The man from the middle of the road was on her front porch.
"May I help you?" Trudie asked him.
"Thank you for the text." The man said to her while she was surprised to hear that.
"You're welcome. I didn't tell them anything. I kept my promise." Trudie said to the man with a little fear.
"Good." The man nodded once again.
"The girls, though, they… knew something." Trudie said to the man.
"That won't be a problem. They won't get any closer to the truth." A man said continuing what he had come to do.
"Good. So I'm done?" Trudie asked him hoping that they would leave her alone.
"Yes. You're done." The man said to her. Then Trudie went to start to close the door, but the man grabbed a hold of the door and started to push back. The woman struggled to close the door.
"No, I won't invite you in! You can't come in!" Trudie said still struggling.
"I'm not a vampire, so, yes, I can." The man said and flanged the door open forcefully, causing Trudie to land on the stairs. He entered the house. "I don't understand. I did what you told me. I did my part!" Trudie yelled at him.
"And now I have to do mine." The man said to her. Trudie yelled and started running up the stairs. The man pursued her and grabbed her by her hair. He thrown her down the stairs and she tumbled to the bottom floor. A pool of blood formed around Trudie's head, indicating that she is dead. The man descended the stairs and stepped over Trudie's body, leaving the house.

Stefan's Room
Damon, Elena and Eva
Elena and Eva entered Stefan's room. Elena was looking for Stefan and Eva was looking for Damon. Eva really wanted to talk with Damon. He was her shoulder to cry on.
"Stefan." Elena called Stefan.
"Better. Me." Damon said walking out of the bathroom with a shirt on. Eva was looking at his chest making Damon smirk at her ogling.
"You look, um..." Eva started to say and Elena rolled her eyes.
"Dashing? Gorgeous? Irresistible?" Damon said smirking at Eva. Then he crossed the room, closing the space between him and Eva. They were about to kiss when Elena pushed him away from her sister not wanting her to get hurt again.
"Wrecked. You look wrecked." Elena said going to stay beside her sister.
"No reason why." Damon said sarcastically. "Do you know that I am one of Mystic Falls' most eligible bachelors?" He said looking right into Eva's eyes.
"Huh." Eva tried to say.
"Yep." Damon said smirking that Eva was at loss of words.
"How are you doing?" Elena asked him.
"Never better. Yep." He said lying to her but Eva could see right through him. He then putted on a button up shirt. "What can I do for you? I'm a barrel of favors today. It's my newfound purpose… how can I help people?" Damon asked both sisters hoping that he could talk alone with Eva.
"I'm just meeting Stefan. We're going to the fundraiser." Elena said to Damon. He started to struggle to button up his shirt, but he was too drunk to do so. He turned around, looking at Eva.
"Help a guy out, will you? Can't get this." He asked to Damon. Eva sighed and walked over to Damon. She grabbed the front of his shirt and began buttoning it up.
"So I found out who my birth mother is." Eva said to Damon.
"Eccch. Who cares?" Damon said to Eva and she looked at him hurt. "She left you and your sister. She sucks." Damon told Eva after seeing the hurt on both girls' face.
"I know, but I want to know the truth." Eva told him.
"I know. I'm sorry for saying that." Damon said kissing her on the cheek. Then Elena and Damon exchange a look like he was saying he was sorry and she smiled after glancing over Damon's shoulder.
Damon, Elena, Eva and Stefan
"Stefan. There you are." Elena said greeting Stefan. He smiled at her and while Damon started to put his jacket on.
"Uhhh. I need a bigger jacket. Wow. You know, an occasional sorority girl might, um, you know, help fill you out a little bit." Damon said and threw the jacket onto Stefan's bed and left the room. Eva followed Damon because she wanted to talk with him alone while Elena talked to Stefan.
Elena and Stefan
"He's fine." Elena told him after Damon and her sister left the room.
"He's Damon." Stefan said shrugging his shoulders.
"Maybe this heartache will be good for him. It'll remind him that he has one, even if it doesn't beat." She said to Stefan hoping that he would change now.
"Won't hold my breath." Stefan said smiling making Elena smile and laugh.
"So I and Eva, we went to see Trudie Peterson." Elena started to tell him about her conversation with Trudie and Stefan's face becomes stony. "I know. I'm sorry. We didn't plan it." Elena said apologizing to Stefan.
"How was it?" Stefan asked Elena worried.
"She has vervain. She knows about vampire stuff, and it can't be a coincidence." Elena explained to Stefan.
"It isn't. This is Alaric's wife." Stefan said and took out the picture of Isobel that Alaric gave him and handed to Elena.
"This is her. This is Isobel. He gave this to you?" Elena said after looking at the picture.
"Everything he knows about vampires, he learned from her. He believes that she was killed by one." Stefan explained to her not telling her that Damon was that vampire.
"Oh, my god." Elena said surprised. "What I'm gonna tell Eva?" Elena asked herself worried about her twin sister.
"Listen, Elena, there's a lot about Isobel that Alaric can tell you, but I need you to hold off a little while before you and Eva talk to him." Stefan pleaded to Elena.
"Why?" Elena asked him starting to get suspicious.
"I know that it's a lot to ask of you, but will you do that for me?" Stefan pleaded once again and Elena nodded agreeing with him.
Damon's Room
Damon and Eva
Eva went after Damon to his room because she didn't want to watch her sister and Stefan making out, but because she wanted to talk with Damon too. He was looking in his closet for a jacket when he heard Eva coming in.
"I'm sorry for saying that about your mother." Damon apologized to her.
"I understand somehow why you said that, but hurt you saying that." Eva said with a weak voice.
"I know and I'm sorry about that." Damon said kissing her forehead.
"Thank you." Eva said smiling at him.
"Welcome. Now, good things." Damon started. "I kind need your help." He said looking into her eyes.
"Good things? What about them?" Eva asked him looking into his eyes too.
"I want that you buy me on the auction." Damon asked Eva, leaving her surprised by his request. "I don't wanna a old lady to have me. At least I know that I can have fun with you. Like we did in Atlanta, Georgia." Damon explained to her.
"What?" Eva asked him surprised.
"I want to buy me." Damon pleaded to her.
"Damon, it is bachelor raffle. I need a ticket, and that ticket needs to be the number of the bachelor, meaning your number." Eva explained to him.
"It is?" Damon asked. "So, I will compel someone to give you the number. Please, do this for me. I don't wanna an old lady." Damon pleaded to her.
"Okay. I'm gonna try. Don't be mad if I can't win." Eva said to Damon.
"Don't worry." Damon said and when he heard Elena's steps coming to call her sister for the bachelor raffle he turned to her once again. "Your sister is preparing to leave the house and his waiting for you." He said and turned once again to the mirror.
"Thank you." Eva said to him and coming closer to him she really looked at him hoping that he could be honest with her. "Are you really okay?" Eva asked him.
"No, but I will be." Damon said staring into her eyes.
"I know. If you need anything else, call me." Eva told him kissing his cheek and left the room to go with Elena to the bachelor raffle to buy her ticket.

Alaric and Jenna
When Jenna, got inside the Grill, she saw Alaric and walked up to him, where he was drinking a glass of bourbon.
"That's a good look for you." Jenna commented to him.
"What? Embarrassed and uncomfortable?" Alaric asked her chuckling.
"Yep. That's… that's the one." Jenna said chuckling too.
"Hey, look, um, I'm, uh, sorry about earlier. It was just kind of a… a shock." Alaric tried to apologize to Jenna for leaving so soon earlier.
"No, I'm sorry for dropping it on you, but I felt like you should know." Jenna told him, apologizing to him too.
"No, I get it." Alaric said to Jenna understanding why she told him that.
"At some point, maybe you and the girls could talk. I'm sure they'd like to hear about Isobel, what she was like." Jenna suggested to him.
"Yeah." Alaric agreed with her.
"Uh... Or not. No pressure." Jenna said after seeing his face.
"I don't know if that's a… a great idea." Alaric said clearing his throat. "At least not… not for a while." He said finally to Jenna, making her nod her head understandingly.
Salvatore Boarding House
Living Room
Damon and Stefan
Stefan walked downstairs where Damon was putting on a bigger jacket. He wanted to know the truth about Isobel, if he had killed her or not.
"Where'd your girlfriend go?" Damon asked about Elena because he knew where Eva went after their talk.
"She's on her way to the Grill with Eva." Stefan told him and then decided to ask him about Isobel. "I, uh, wanted to talk to you." He finally said and pulled out the picture of Isobel and handed it to Damon, who looked at it with his usual smugness. "This is the woman, Isobel, from North Carolina. Remember her now?" The younger Salvatore asked to his brother.
"Who wants to know?" Damon asked his brother.
"I do." Stefan stated hoping that Damon won't suspect anything about being Alaric's wife or being the twins' biological mother.
"Who else wants to know?" Damon asked already suspecting something.
"Did you kill her?" Stefan asked once again.
"Sorry. Don't know her." Damon told him and walked past Stefan, then looking up at his brother. "Hey, are you coming? The Real Housewives of Mystic Falls is waiting for us." He asked his baby brother.
Mystic Grill
Caroline, Elena, Eva and Matt
Caroline, the Gilbert twins and Matt were all milling around at the front of the Grill while their blond friend was telling them about what had happened on the Grill before they had arrived.
"He's already been hit on, like, 35 times. He's total cougar bait." Caroline told them.
"Impressive." Elena said a little sarcastically.
"I agree." Eva said chuckling.
"More like embarrassing." Matt said embarrassed. Caroline laughed when he said that while she saw Kelly Donavan enter the Grill.
Caroline, Elena, Eva, Kelly and Matt
"Hi, Mrs. Donovan." Caroline greeted Kelly.
"Elena, honey." Kelly looked at Elena but before she had glanced at Caroline with distaste. Then she turned to Eva too. "Eva, honey, you have got more beautiful than you were before and Elena too." She complimented the girls.
"Hi, Kelly." Both girls said to Kelly. Then Kelly pulled Elena to a hug and then did the same with Eva.
"Long time, no see." Kelly said smiling to the girls.
"How are you doing?" Elena asked Kelly.
"Oh, same old. Oh. Matty tells me you broke his heart." Kelly stated to Elena.
"Mom." Matt started to plead with his mother.
"Just kidding. Calm down. He found his rebound girl." She told Elena glancing at Caroline, that was listening the conversation. "You could have chosen our Eva and not the rebound girl you have now." Kelly stated.
"Kelly, I don't see Matt like that. He is like a brother to me and I used to date with Tyler Lockwood." Eva explained to Kelly.
"I remember, Matt told me. I'm sorry for what Vicki did." Kelly apologized. She had always loved the Gilbert Family. Eva nodded her head telling her that it was forgotten everything that had happened. "Oh. Here you go, sweetheart. However many that'll buy." Kelly said to Caroline and extracted some money. Then gave it to Caroline, who took it with a small smile. "I just hope I don't get Bachelor 3. I dated him in high school. Not impressive." Kelly stated and then whispered. "In any way." Matt shook his head, embarrassed. Caroline handed Kelly her tickets and she takes them. "It is very exciting be here." Kelly said sarcastically and walked off further into the Grill. Elena turned around and saw Alaric. Then she gives a signal to Eva and they stare at each other for a moment before Alaric walked off and both girls turned back around to each other. They had a look of disappointment because Alaric didn't come to talk with them.
Carol and Damon
Damon and Carol were talking in another part of the Grill. He was telling her his plans for the date he was going to have with the winner.
"I have got the big date planned. It's a romantic dinner, secluded spot somewhere woodsy." Damon said remembering that he could compel the winner to drink her blood.
"You're making me think I should buy a ticket." Carol said trying to flirt with Damon.
"Well, you are in charge. You could always rig it." Damon said to her flirting too and with a smirk on his face. Then he saw Liz enter on the Grill. "Pardon me." He said rubbing Carol's arm and walked over to Liz.
Damon and Liz
After Damon walked over to the Sheriff Forbes, they had retreated into a corner. Liz had a folder in her hand. It was the information Damon wanted.
"I ran the check on the history teacher." She told him showing the folder. "You want this before or after your big debut?" She asked him.
"How's it look?" Damon asked her and Liz handed him the folder while Damon began looking through the file.
"He checks out. Couple of speeding tickets. It's a rough story, though. Turns out his wife went missing a few years back in North Carolina." Liz explained to him.
"North Carolina? She has a name?" Damon asked her remembering about the questions his brother was asking him.
"Yeah. Isobel." Liz said to him and flipped back to a page where contained a photo of Isobel, it was the woman that Stefan showed him.
"Isobel." Damon said and looked out around the Grill where he spotted Alaric and then appeared on his face a devilish look.
Damon and Eva
Eva was looking around for a seat when Damon came to her. He wanted to know if she had bought a ticket for the auction.
"Hey. Did you buy the ticket?" Damon asked her.
"Yes, I did. Let's hope that I win this thing." Eva said to Damon smiling.
"Did you have any more clues about your birth mother?" Damon asked with curiosity.
"No. But we hope that some more clues about that." Eva said to him with a sad look on her face.
"I hope too. So, I need go to the stage and we will take late, okay? And then to celebrate your victory on the auction." Damon said to her. Eva smiled and then went to join her sister and aunt on a table close to the stage.
At the Stage
Carol and Bachelor nº3
Stefan entered the Grill as Carol introduced each of the bachelors on stage. Stefan started to look for the twins and when he found them, he went to join them.
"And what do you do, Bachelor Number 3?" Carol asked to the man.
"Yeah, I'm a plumber." The man said into the microphone.
"Well, isn't that wonderful? We could always use more plumbers." Carol said with a sarcastic tone on her voice.
Carol and Alaric
Carol, after present the Bachelor number 3, she turned to the Bachelor number 4, which it was Alaric Saltzman.
"Moving on. Number 4, "Alaric Saltzman." Wow. That's quite a mouthful. What do you do, Alaric?" Carol asked to Alaric.
"I'm a teacher at Mystic Falls High." Alaric said into the microphone smiling.
"Oh, beauty and brains, ladies. This one's a keeper. What do you teach?" Carol asked him and looked at the ladies on the Grill.
"History." Alaric stated to the ladies.
"History. Oh, well, give us a fun fact about Mystic Falls, something crazy." Carol asked him and he looked over at Damon. The Salvatore placed his hand up to his ear, showing an act completely sarcastically waiting for a response.
"Uh, well..." Alaric started but Carol pulled the microphone away.
"He's probably saving the best stories for his date." Carol said laughing and then turned to the last bachelor.
Carol and Damon
"And last, but not least, Damon Salvatore. We don't have much on you." Carol said after moving down the line. Stefan that was going to join the twins stopped in the middle of the room and looked at the girls. Elena saw her boyfriend coming, smiled at him and waved from the table she was sharing with her sister and Jenna. Stefan smiled back at her and waved, then looked back at the stage to see what his brother was going to do again.
"Well, I'm tough to fit on a card." Damon said smirking.
"Do you have any hobbies, like to travel?" Carol asked him.
"Oh, yeah. L.A., New York." Damon said smirking and decided to put his plan into action. "Couple of years ago, I was in North Carolina. Near the Duke campus, actually. I think… I think Alaric went to school there. Didn't you, Ric?" Damon asked Alaric turning to look at him, who did the same. "Yeah, 'cause I… I know your wife did." He finally stated and Stefan became alert. He looked over at the girls, which their faces started to falter. Stefan started to make his way over to the girls.
"I had a drink with her once. She was… she was a great girl. I ever tell you that? Cause she was… Delicious. Mmm! Mmm… mmm… mmm." Damon said smirking into the microphone. Both girls looked completely in shock.
Elena, Eva and Jenna
At the table Eva and Elena's mouth hanged open. Elena's eyes were filled with tears as she stared at Damon. Eva was in complete shock and it was disappointed with him because of that attitude he had right at that moment. Jenna looked over at them because she saw that her nieces were upset about something.
"Are you okay, girls?" Jenna asked worried.
"I just need some air." Elena said and got up to leave.
"I'm going to see if she is alright." Eva said and left the table too. Both girls walked past Stefan, to outside of the Grill. Stefan decided to follow them.
Outside
Elena, Eva and Stefan
Outside, Elena was pacing around. Eva was still with some shook after what she had heard what Damon ha said. Stefan exited the Grill and approached them. They turned to face him. They needed some answers right now.
"Elena." Stefan called his girlfriend.
"He killed her? Damon was the vampire that killed her?" Elena fired the questions.
"Please Stefan, tell us." Eva pleaded to Stefan. If it was Damon that killed her birth mother, she didn't know if she was going to take it.
"I don't know what happened. Alaric said that they never found the body." Stefan started to explain to the girls.
"Oh, my god. Stefan." Elena said with a complete disappointment on her face.
"I know. I'm sorry. I wanted to tell you both. But I just… I wanted to know more." He explained to the girls.
"I was feeling sorry for him, hoping that this whole Danielle thing would change him but I'm so stupid." Elena said to Stefan when he hugged her.
"Lena, I'm gonna get in and talk with Damon. I need to talk with him." Eva explained to her sister.
"Be careful." Elena pleaded to her sister with her eyes.
"Be careful, Eva." Stefan said to the Gilbert twin. He was worried about her. She was like a little sister to him.
"I will guys." Eva said and after kissing Stefan and Elena's cheeks she got inside the Grill once again.
Elena and Stefan
"He doesn't know about the connection to you and to Eva. I thought about confronting him, but he's already so on edge." Stefan explained to Elena after Eva was safely inside.
"Why are you protecting him?" Elena asked her boyfriend with indignity in her voice.
"Because you're not the only one hoping that he might actually change." Stefan said with a look of sadness on her face. Elena shook her head slightly and he looked at her worried. When Elena looked over Stefan's shoulder and then back up at him, she did a double take when she recognized the man from earlier down the street.
"That man." Elena said pointing to him. Stefan then turned around and looked at the man, whose was watching them. "I saw that man outside of Trudie's." Elena explained to her boyfriend already worried.
"Get back inside. Come on." Stefan ordered to her and gently pushed her back inside of the Grill and then followed her soon thereafter.
Inside the Grill
Damon and Eva
When Eva got inside the Grill, Damon came to talk with her. He was worried about her because he saw her leave the Grill with a sad look.
"Hey, are you alright?" Damon asked her worried.
"Yes, I need to tell you something. And I hope that was a lie because I don't wanna get mad at you." Eva started.
"I'm your friend and would never lie to you." Damon told her looking at her hoping that his eyes could show her that he was being sincere.
"Did you kill Alaric's wife?" Eva asked him.
"No, I turned her." Damon told her honestly and when Eva was going to ask him another question when her sister ran into Damon's back.
Carol and Kelly
Meanwhile, Carol was pulling out the raffle ticket from the bowl. She was already telling them the winners.
"And bachelor number 3 goes to 37458." Carol said with enthusiasm.
"That's me." Kelly said and walked towards Carol.
"Ah. Kelly Donovan. Lovely." Carol said sarcastically and Kelly took the ticket from Carol Lockwood. "You and the plumber should have so much fun." Carol said watching Kelly walking away.
Caroline and Kelly
Kelly walked over to Caroline to claim her prize.
"Congratulations, Mrs. Donovan." Caroline said to Kelly smiling.
"Okay, just stop. Stop trying so hard. This thing you're doing, this nice thing, it's fake. Like you. Like your mom. And for some reason, Matt fell for it, but that doesn't mean that I will. I don't like you, okay? So tell plumber boy I'll be at the bar." Kelly said to Caroline making her sad.
"Okay." Caroline said with a sad voice while watching Kelly walking off away from her and for anyone to see, Caroline tried to hide the hurt look she had because of Kelly's presumptions.
Damon, Elena, Eva and Stefan
Elena walked back into the Grill, still upset and shocked. As she continued walking and looking for Eva, she wasn't paying attention to where she was going, she ran right into Damon and Eva talking.
"Whoa. Easy there. Buy a ticket like everyone else." Damon said chuckling.
"Did you enjoy that? Rubbing it in to Alaric Saltzman?" Elena asked Damon pissed at him and his attitude.
"What?" Damon asked her not understanding why she was acting like that.
"Just as I was starting to think that there was something redeemable about you." Elena said while Stefan walked up to them.
"Elena." Stefan shook his head at her. Damon looked from Stefan to Elena. Eva was shaking her head at Elena to stop talking.
"Am I missing something here?" Damon asked looking at Eva hoping she could help him understand what Elena was telling him.
"Did my sister forget to mention earlier when we were talking about our biological mother? The one that gave me and my sister up?" Elena asked him.
"Elena, please…" Eva started to plead with her sister.
"What?" Damon asked looking from Eva to Elena.
"Her name was Isobel." Elena stated and Damon's face faltered. "Go ahead. Reminisce about how you killed her." Elena said pissed and rammed into Damon's shoulder as she walked past him and her sister. Stefan and Damon exchanged looks and the younger Salvatore left to follow Elena.
Damon and Eva
After Elena left, Damon turned to Eva. He wanted to know why she didn't tell him about Alaric's wife being her birth mother.
"Why didn't you tell me her name?" Damon asked her surprised because she didn't gave him that information.
"I'm sorry. I was trying to tell you but Elena came in and decided to say it like she did earlier." Eva apologized to Damon.
"That's what you were trying to tell me now, before Elena came in?" Damon asked her already understood why she was nervous.
"Yes." Eva confirmed.
"I'm sorry. But like I told you, I turned her because she asked me too." Damon said to her kissing her forehead.
"Thank you for telling me." Eva said to him smiling.
"Welcome." Damon said to her and then decided to tell her something that he would never tell anyone. "I will always protect and I will always tell you the truth." Eva nodded and then both of them went further inside into the Grill
Outside
Elena and Stefan
Stefan seeing that Elena was nervous about the conversation she had with Damon and the discoveries of the day, he decided to suggest to Elena for them to go home.
"Come on. Let's get you home." Stefan said to her his suggestion. Elena stopped abruptly when she saw the man once again from earlier in front of her. Stefan saw him too and stood slightly in front of Elena, placing his hand out to protect her if the scene came to be dangerous.
"I have a message for you and your sister." The man said.
"What?" Elena asked completely surprised.
"Who are you?" Stefan asked still in front of Elena to protect her.
"Stop looking." The man told her.
"Stop looking for what?" Elena asked him not understanding.
"She doesn't want to know you and your sister. She doesn't want to talk to you and to your sister." The man stated with a monotone voice.
"Isobel?" Elena asked already knowing it was something about her birth mother.
"You and your sister need to stop looking. Do you understand?" The man said once again.
"She's alive? Does that mean she's a…" Elena asked him and started to inch forward, but Stefan putted his arm back to keep her behind him.
"Elena, he's under compulsion." Stefan warned her.
"Do you understand?" The man asked her waiting for a answer.
"Yes. I do." Elena stated looking at him.
"Good." He said and looked down the street. "I'm done now." The man said and stepped backwards into the road. A large truck blared its horn but ran over the man, killing the man instantly. Elena, shocked, grabbed Stefan. Only a moment after the incident, they ran into the middle of the street to find some clues. People around them were yelling with fear. Stefan kneelt down and looked at the man. Elena saw a phone that must have fallen out of the man's pocket and picked it up. Stefan quickly stood up and grabbed Elena's arm. He wanted to leave the Grill with her. They didn't need this problem.
"Come on. Let's get out of here. Come on." Stefan said dragging her along. Elena placed then the phone in her pocket as Stefan continued to drag her off down the street to her house.
Carol and Jenna
Meanwhile, the Bachelor Raffle continued. Carol held up another ticket and read the number.
"37649." Carol said the number of the ticket. Many of the women around the Grill made disappointed sounds. Jenna looked at the number of her ticket and then raised her hand, it was her number.
"That's me." Jenna said to Carol.
"Congratulations." Carol said smiling at Jenna when she had walked up to her to receive the ticket.
Carol and Eva
"And Bachelor Number 5, Damon Salvatore." Carol said and pulled the ticket for the date with Damon. She was hoping to get the date with him. "37552." She said while Alaric walked over to Jenna who handed her ticket to Caroline.
"The ticket is mine." Eva said to Carol who looked surprised. She thought that Eva and Tyler were getting back together.
"Congratulations, Eva." Carol said to her ex-daughter in law.
"Thank you." Eva said to Carol and prepared to leave when Carol grabbed her arm gently to talk with her.
"I thought that you and Tyler were back together, because I saw two talking." She said remembering the dance she saw them talk.
"I'm sorry, Mrs. Lockwood. I know you and Mr. Lockwood would like to see us back together but Tyler cheated on me and right now, I wanna be alone. But don't worry, Tyler and I, we are friends." Eva smiled at her.
"I'm glad Eva." Carol said smiling at the younger girl. From the table where Jenna was with Alaric, he watched the conversation between Eva and Carol. Eva didn't know the risk she was going to take.
"I'll call you later." Alaric said to Jenna and started to leave the Grill.
Flashback
Alaric and Isobel's Apartment
Alaric and Isobel
Alaric was sitting on the edge of the bed as Isobel talked to him and paced across the floor. His wife was worried about something.
"I think it's time to let this vampire crap go. I mean, the research, the trips, it's become an obsession." Alaric said to his wife worried.
"Well, this is important to me, Ric." Isobel stated to him.
"Why? Why is it so important? Explain it to me. I mean, make me understand." Alaric pleaded to his wife while she didn't answer to his pledge. "I mean, what's the point of this?" He asked her worried. "You don't want kids. You're barely ever home. I just want us to be normal people." Alaric said with a sigh.
"Maybe I don't want to. Maybe I want more." Isobel stated looking at her husband.
Salvatore Boarding House
Living Room
Damon and Eva
Damon was on the living room drinking some bourbon when Eva joined him. She was going to tell him that she had won him on the Bachelor Raffle.
"Hey." Damon acknowledged her. "So, did you win?" He asked looking up at her.
"Hey. Yeah, I won." She said to him smiling.
"So, when do you want this date?" Damon asked to her laughing.
"I don't need a fancy date. Just a movie and it is fine." She said to him laughing.
"Okay. Next week?" He asked her.
"Yeah, next week." She agreed with him.
"Okay. And once again, I'm sorry for what I said to Alaric." Damon apologized to Eva once again.
"No problem. And apologies accepted. Now I have to go. I have school tomorrow and Elena needs to talk with me." Eva said getting up.
"Okay. See you tomorrow. Be careful." Damon said kissing her cheek.
"I will." Eva promised and kissed his cheek and left the Boarding House.
Donavan's House
Kelly and Matt
Matt guided Kelly into the house. Kelly was obviously drunked. She never will change in everything.
"Here we go. Home, sweet home." Matt said laying his mother on the couch.
"Wait. Why… why are we back here? I wasn't ready to leave." Kelly asked with a voice that showed she was intoxicated.
"Yeah, you were, mom." Matt stated to her.
"You're the best, Matty." Kelly said after sat down on the couch with Matt's help.
"I know." Matt stated and sat down beside his mother.
"I'm… I'm sorry... I was gone so long." Kelly apologized to her son.
"Why are you really home, mom?" Matt asked his mother trying to get the truth.
"It's Pete. He's gone, and it's my entire fault. I did it. I always do it." Kelly stated ready to start crying.
"No, you didn't, mom. It's not your fault." Matt said comforting his mother.
"You're all I have left." She said with a thickly voice. "Please don't leave me." Kelly pleaded to her son.
"I'm not going anywhere." Matt stated to his mother and Kelly touched his face smiling at him. Then she laid her head on a pillow and Matt covered her with a blanket.
Salvatore Boarding House
Living Room
Alaric and Damon
Damon walked back into the parlor after to make sure that Eva got home safely. She really was his only friend. He walked to his table where he had his bourbon and prepared a drink. Quietly, Alaric entered the room with a stake in his hand.
"Are you really this stupid?" Damon asked him because he had heard Alaric's heartbeat getting inside the house. Then he finished pouring his drink and turned around to look at Alaric who was standing behind him with the stake. "Guess so." Damon said to him ready to fight. Damon took a drink, placed his glass down, and used his vampire speed to be in front of Alaric and then he threw him across the room. Alaric landed on the floor, heavily, but quickly got back up and got ready to attack. "You gonna put down the stake?" Damon asked him but Alaric remained in an attacking stance. "Wow. That's courage." The older Salvatore said sarcastically and walked over to Alaric.
"Where's Isobel? What have you done to my wife?" Alaric asked him pissed.
"You want me to tell you I killed her? Would that make you happy? Because I think you know what happened." Damon stated to Alaric looking to the directly at him.
"I saw you feeding on her." Alaric said remembering what happened in that night.
"Yeah, I did, and I wasn't lying. She was delicious." Damon said smirking. Alaric rushed at the vampire. Damon hit Alaric in his stomach and the human keeled over falling back onto the floor. "Oh, come on. What do you think happened? No inkling, no connection? Never considered the possibility?" Damon asked him and Alaric looked up at Damon already starting understand what had happened. "I turned her." Damon stated the obvious for him.
"Why?" Alaric asked him surprised.
"She came to me. All pathetic, looking for vampires. There was something about her, something I liked. There was something special." Damon explained.
"You turned her because you liked her?" Alaric asked him with a shocked face.
"No, I slept with her because I liked her. I turned her because she begged me to. Yeah, but you knew that, too, didn't you? Hmm. I guess she wasn't happy at home, wasn't happy with life in general, wasn't happy with you." Damon said smirking because he was getting Alaric more pissed that he was already. The human rushed at Damon again, but the vampire grabbed the stake from Alaric's hands and stabbed him in the chest, puncturing his lung. Alaric yelled in pain. "Ah, this is a shame. We're kindred spirits, abandoned by the women we love. Unrequited love sucks." Damon said to him remembering about Danielle and removed the stake from Alaric's chest making him to wheeze. "Sounds like I got a lung. Which means I get to sit here and watch you die." He tossed Alaric to the floor. The human gasped for air and placed his hands over his wound. Damon threw the stake down, grabbed his drink, and sat down on the sofa as he watched Alaric take one last breath before his death.
Damon and Stefan
Damon was taking a swig from his glass as he looked at Alaric's dead body. Stefan was walking in the room and looked at Alaric's body. He rushed over to the body and kneelt down next to it, checking for a pulse.
"What happened? What did you do?" Stefan asked worried once again that they could be discovered.
"Do what? He attacked me." Damon stated the obvious.
"Damon." Stefan started after he had sat down and looked up at his brother.
"All I did was tell him the truth. His wife didn't want him anymore. It's not my fault he couldn't handle it." Damon said to his brother.
"Like you've been handling Danielle?" Stefan asked sarcastically.
"I'm handling it fine. You know what? Isobel came to me. She found me. And if she's related to Elena and Eva, that means she's related to Danielle and Katherine. Maybe Danielle and her sister sent her to me." Damon thought about that and shared with his brother.
"Stop it. You don't have to keep looking." Stefan said to his brother sick of seeing love a woman who didn't love him back.
"Can't be a coincidence Isobel sought me out. Mm-mmm. Can't." Damon said and then pointed to Alaric. "I'm assuming you'll take care of this." Damon said and got up and left the room. Stefan, exhausted by Damon's actions, sat down next to Alaric's body.
Alaric and Stefan
While Stefan was sitting down beside Alaric's body, he saw the teacher's fingers start to move. He furrowed his brow and leaned over Alaric. Suddenly, Alaric gasped back to life, panting heavily. He sat up, confused.
"What happened? What's going on?" Alaric asked completely confused.
"You were just... Did Damon turn you?" Stefan asked completely surprised to see Alaric alive and breathing.
"No. I… I went for him and then he, uh… he stabbed me." Alaric explained.
"No, no, no. You must have vampire blood in your system. Somebody slipped it to you." Stefan said to Alaric because it was the only explanation for Alaric being awake after being killed.
"No. It's, uh, it's something else." Alaric said flexing his fingers.
"Then how?" Stefan wondered at loud.
"I, uh..." Alaric said and then looked down at the ring on his right hand. "Isobel."
Flashback
Alaric and Isobel's Apartment
Alaric and Isobel
Alaric and Isobel were in the bed. Alaric held a small box in his hand.
"Surprise gifts aren't fair. I always feel bad for not getting you something." Alaric stated to his wife looking at her.
"Just open it." Isobel told him.
"Oh, that's a giant piece of jewelry." Alaric said after opening the box and laughed. He took the ring out and started to examine it.
"I know. It's ridiculous." Isobel said laughing. "Just tell people it's a family heirloom and nobody questions that." She stated.
"Where'd you get this?" Alaric asked with curiosity.
"If I told you, you'd laugh at me. But promise me that you'll always wear it. It'll protect you from all the things that go bump in the night." Isobel explained to him.
"A ring to ward off the demons, eh?" Alaric asked chuckling.
"Consider it a… a token of my love, my affection, and if nothing else, an apology for being so crazy." Isobel continued to explain to him.
"Well, you were definitely crazy." Alaric stated laughing and placed the ring on his right finger.
"I'm selfish, and I'm obsessed, and I'm a horrible wife. But you love me anyway." Isobel said to him with a smile on her face.
"Yes, I do." Alaric agreed with his wife.
Salvatore Boarding House

Alaric and Stefan

Gilbert House
Elena's Room
Elena and Eva
Elena and Eva were on Elena's room and in her bed. Elena picked up a picture in a frame from her bedside. The picture is of the twins and their parents. She looked at it for a moment then placed it down on her lap. Then she looked at Eva like she was asking if she agreed with her in that whole thing. When Eva nodded her head, Elena grabbed the cell phone that she took from the man that was run over. Elena opened the phone and found the last number that was dialed. Before they could change their mind, Elena called the number and placed the phone on the speaker. After a few rings, a woman picked up on the other end.
"Was there a problem? Did you find them? What's going on?" The woman asked through the line.
"Isobel?" Elena asked to the woman. Then the woman hanged up without another word to the girls. The younger Gilbert with a tearful look shut the phone and looked at her sister which already had tears on her eyes. Both girls hugged each other and started to cry together once again.

Harper was walking down a path through the woods. He approached a house and knocked on the door. The woman that Harper saw in the Town Square earlier answers the door.
"Pearl, it's Harper." The woman called Pearl. Then both Anna and Pearl came to the front door. The woman that answered the door went back inside.
"I'm glad you found us. Ms. Gibbons, this gentleman is a friend of mine." Pearl said to the woman which came up from behind Pearl. "May he come in?" Pearl asked to the owner of the house.
"Any friend of Pearl's is a friend of mine. Please do. Come in." Miss Gibbons invited Harper to come inside the house.
"Annabelle, close the door, please." Pearl ordered Anna to close the door after Harper had entered the house and had walked off with Pearl and Miss Gibbons. Anna looked into the woods as she shuts the door.

I hope you like this chapter because it's something everyone has wanted to see. Eva didn't like it what Damon did but she didn't show it. She is good into hiding her feelings just like Damon. She is going to be disappointed with Damon in this chapter.

winxgirl1997: I'm glad you liked.
grapejuice101: I'm glad you liked. Yes, will be more Stefan/Eva brother and sister relationship and of course Damon/Eva. I hope you like this chapter.

Tatia had a twin sister too, Thora, which the girls have their faces and both Eva and Elena are doppelgangers. I hope you can understand about the story.
