Chapter XXI
Isobel
At the Mystic Grill, Isobel and Alaric were standing at the bar. Alaric didn't know what to say. His wife was in front of him and he was in shock.
"It is good to see you. You really look good. I hear that you are a high school history teacher? How is that?" Isobel asked him smiling.
"Where have you been, Isobel?" Alaric asked her worried.
"I don't have any reasons that are gonna comfort you. I don't have any explanations that are gonna satisfy you. I wanted this." Isobel stated to him.
"It's that simple?" Alaric asked her noticing her cold state towards him.
"Yeah. You were supposed to mourn me, and move on." Isobel told him.
"You were my wife, and I loved you. How could I not search for you?" Alaric asked her surprised by her cold voice.
"Because I wasn't lost, Ric." She said and took a paper to write something in that. "I understand that you know my daughters Elena and Eva and I hear that they have been looking for me. So…" She said giving the paper to Alaric. "I want you to arrange for a meeting with us." Isobel told him.
"You want me to deliver a message?" Alaric asked her looking at the paper.
"Yeah." Isobel said smiling.
"Screw you. You selfish bitch." Alaric said and threw the paper. Then he got up and left the bar to go home.

Alaric was going to his car to leave when Isobel arrived behind him.
"What do you want from me?" Alaric asked her with hurt on his voice.
"I told you." Isobel simply said to him.
"I'm not gonna do anything for you." Alaric said to her with hate on his voice.
"You better tell Elena and Eva that I want to meet or I'm gonna start killing the citizens of this town one by one and I'm gonna start with your history students. Got it?" Isobel said strangling him and pushed him against his car. At the end, she finally threw him and pushed him on the floor giving him the paper. He finally got up and looked at the paper.
"Damn it." Alaric said to himself. "Now that I have decided to move on, she comes back." He finally said.

Elena was talking on the phone with Damon. She wanted to know how Stefan was feeling that day.
"Eva and I are supposed to help build the Miss Mystic float for the Founder's Day parade. If I don't I get the wrath of Caroline but I wanted to check in first." She explained to Damon.
"Well, I'm doing great, thanks for asking." Damon said to her sarcastically.
"Checking on Stefan." Elena simply said to him.
"Oh, him? Oh, he's... he's terrible." Damon said acting like always.
"What's the matter?" Elena asked him almost in panic again.
"He's just back to boring, straight-laced, off the junk. You've successfully cured him of anything that was interesting about his personality." Damon said to her joking about his brother.
"Don't forget who helped me." Elena said laughing.
"I hate myself." Damon said smiling into the phone. "Did Uncle John or your darling sister mention anything to you about my field trip with the history teacher?" He wondered.
"No. I'm still been avoiding him. Why? What's he up to? Eva knows about what are you talking?" Elena asked him.
"I don't know. But I'd love if you could find out for me." Damon asked her.
"I've got to go I'm late." Elena said to him trying to hang up.
"Have fun with the Mystic queen, I know I did." Damon said and then remembered about something. "I'm gonna ask Eva. Bye!" He said hanging up the phone while Elena did the same.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Damon was looking in his phone book when Stefan entered the living room.
"Elena called." Damon informed him while still looking for Eva's number. Stefan smiled and left the house to go to school. When he found the number he dialed and let it ring. When he heard the voice on the other side Damon smiled. "Hello, Miss Eva." He saluted her.
"Damon? Do you need something?" Eva asked him worried about something could have happened.
"I wanted to ask you if your uncle commented something about our errand from last night?" Damon wondered.
"Elena and I are avoiding him but he didn't said anything." Eva explained to him.
"Okay. So what are you doing today?" Damon asked her with curiosity.
"Help Caroline and then nothing. Why?" Eva asked him surprised by his question.
"You want to hang out with me?" Damon asked her.
"Yeah, I want too. See you later, handsome." Eva said flirting and then hanged up the phone leaving a speechless Damon.
"This girl is making forget everything about Danielle." Damon murmured to himself.

At the high school cafeteria Alaric was giving instructions and papers to his students for the construction of the Miss Mystic Falls boat. It was for the parade that the Founding Families do every year at the Founder's Day.
"So these are the specs for the History department. For the Founder's Day float we'll be recreating the battle of Willow Creek. Tyler has been nominated at the head of the production design." Alaric informed them.
"By whom?" Tyler asked him surprised by that.
"By me. I've seen your sketches and they're good." Alaric said to Tyler.
"I'm not really into the…" Tyler tried to give an excuse for not be the responsible.
"Well, you just pick your team, be creative and…" He said to Tyler when he saw Elena, Eva and Stefan getting inside. "Don't screw up." He ordered and went towards to the twins and Stefan.
"Great!" Tyler said sarcastically and then turned to Matt. "You want to help me out with this?" He asked to his friend.
"Not really, no." Matt said still pissed at Tyler for what had happened with his mother.

"Hey Mr. Saltzman." Elena said when Alaric was with them.
"Come with me. We need to talk." He said to the twins.
"What is going on?" Eva asked while Stefan and Elena were looking each other and they started to following Alaric to his classroom.

Bonnie and Caroline were in the cafeteria of the school looking into a computer references about last year's Founder's Day. Caroline wanted a great day and better than the last year. She wanted to show to everyone she was good in everything.
"Alright show me." Bonnie said to Caroline.
"Let's reference last year's Miss Mystic Falls float." Caroline said and wrote it on her computer the reference about it. "This is what they did last year." Then she turned her computer and showed a picture to Bonnie. "And this is exactly what we don't want to do this year." Caroline finally concluded.
"Eww. Okay! So, what are we doing?" Bonnie asked Caroline after seeing the pictures.
"Southern classic elegance." Caroline stated.
"Gone with the Wind?" Bonnie said already knowing the answer.
"How'd you know?" Caroline asked surprised.
"You channel Scarlett, daily." Bonnie said like she was using her witch powers.
"So true!" Caroline said squealing and they laughed, then Caroline start looking around for something or someone. "Where's Elena and Eva? They are supposed to be helping me." Caroline explained to Bonnie.
"I don't know." Bonnie said to her.
"Okay, what's the deal?" Caroline asked Bonnie already knowing that something was up with the twins and Bonnie.
"What do you mean?" Bonnie asked trying to show that everything was normal.
"Don't play dumb. You are fighting with Elena and Eva. Spill!" Caroline said trying to know what was going on.
"It's nothing." Bonnie said like it wasn't anything bad.
"It's not nothing. You know this whole float is supposed to be about friends creating something together and everyone is fighting. Matt and Tyler hate each other, the Gilbert girls and you are on the outs and I don't like it! And I can't fix it if I don't know what's wrong." Caroline ranted because she didn't like to see her friends upset.
"I can't talk about it, Caroline, I'm sorry." Bonnie said to the blonde girl.
"Why not?" Caroline murmured looking up at Bonnie.

Alaric was with Stefan and the girls inside his classroom waiting for Damon to come to meet them there.
"Damon, thanks for coming." Alaric said when Damon entered the classroom.
"Sorry I'm late. My dog ate my uh… never mind." Damon said trying to be funny but then he looked at Stefan and the girls. "What's with all the furrowed brows?" He asked them already getting worried.
"I saw Isobel last night." Alaric stated to Damon.
"Isobel is here?" Damon asked and Alaric nodded confirming. "In town?" He asked again and Alaric nodded once again. Then he turned to Eva and looked at her.

John Gilbert parked his car on a house driveway. He had come to see someone. When he finally switch off the engine of the car, he got out and entered in the mansion. He entered on the living room where he found a man and a woman dancing while Isobel was watching.
"You're late." Isobel stated to him not even looking up.
"I didn't realize there was a schedule. What's with the side show?" He asked looking at the two humans.
"Cherie is a little jazz singer that I picked up in a blues bar in Brooklyn. And I got the cowboy at a gay rodeo in Amarillo." Isobel explained to John.
"He's gay?" John asked her with curiosity.
"Not right now, he's very good to me." Isobel stated and then turned to the men and to the women. "Hey Cherie? Cassez vous!" She said in french and they left the room. "I'm teaching them French. Oh! I can smell the judgment coming off of you." Isobel finally stated to John.
"Well, they're people, Isobel, and you're treating them like dolls." John stated to her.
"If we're gonna be partners you really have to stop being such a hater." Isobel said to him getting up.
"We're in a partnership together because we share a mutual goal. Don't ever confuse that for an acceptance of your lifestyle." John said to her slightly irritated with her.
"My lifestyle? So, I assume that you still don't have the invention." Isobel said already knowing the answer to that.
"I'll get it. I said I would." John simply said to her.
"Uh, you threatened to expose Damon Salvatore, that didn't work. You killed that Pearl lady, still no invention. I really don't think that your plan is working, John." Isobel said pointing the facts.
"Well, you being here is not going to help anything." John said to her while Isobel slapped him making him fall.
"You failed, John. I'm gonna take it from here." Isobel said while John got up and took a breath. Then looked at her once again and walked away.

While the girls were sited on the chairs around the classroom, Stefan was watching his brother and Alaric talking.
"Did you ask her about Uncle John? Are they working together?" Damon asked Alaric.
"No." Alaric said simply.
"No they're not?" Damon asked again.
"No I didn't ask." Alaric said once again.
"What about the invention?" Damon asked him.
"Didn't ask." Alaric said.
"Did she know about the tomb vampires?" Damon fired another question.
"I don't know." Alaric said again.
"Did words completely escape you?" Damon asked without patience.
"No, I was a little too distracted by my dead vampire wife to ask any questions." Alaric said sighing.
"What did she want?" Damon asked looking at Eva.
"She wants to see me and Elena, Damon." Eva said to him and Damon looked at her and then to Elena.
"Alaric is supposed to arrange a meeting. We don't know why or what she wants." The younger Salvatore explained to his older brother.
"You don't have to see her if you don't want to." He said to the girls and looked especially at Eva. Stefan, was confused by this sudden sensitivity, looked at Damon and then looked at the girls again.
"We don't really have a choice." Elena said finally and sighed.
"She's threatened to go on killing spree." Alaric finally said.
"Oh! I take it that's not okay with you guys." Damon said looking around from the girls and Stefan to Alaric.
"I want to do it. I want to meet her. If I don't, I know I'll regret it." Elena said to them.
"Me too. I want to know who is my biological father at least." Eva said too and Damon looked at her while Elena nodded agreeing with her.

Elena and Eva were sitting together at one table at the Grill. They were going to meet their biological mother. They were really nervous about this. Stefan was standing at the pool table watching over them and to see if the girls were in any danger.
"Can you hear me? Thanks for coming, I'm nervous." Elena asked to Stefan in a low voice to be assure that he was there for them. Stefan nodded and smiled at her. "I'm happy that you're here. I love you." Elena said to him smiling and Stefan moved his lips to tell her that he loved her too.
"Thank you, Stefan." Eva said in a low voice too. Stefan smiled and nodded at her. "I love you like a big brother." Eva said to Stefan smiling and he mouthed at her saying he loved her too, like a little sister. Elena was smiling at that exchange between them, because it was important to her that Stefan and Eva liked each other, just like she felt that Damon was an older brother to her but she knew, that she would never admit that just like Damon would never admit that he liked Elena like a little sister too.
"Hello Elena. Hello Eva. You look just like them, that's eerie." Isobel said when she arrived and sat down with them.
"You've met Katherine and Danielle?" Elena asked her with curiosity.
"They found me after I turned. Genetic curiosity, I suppose. They would be fascinated by you two." Isobel commented and then both girls looked at Isobel's necklace.
"Is that how you can walk in the day?" Eva asked pointing to the necklace.
"Katherine and Danielle helped me obtain it." Isobel explained in monotone voice.
"Who is our father?" Elena asked Isobel. The girls needed to know that.
"Not important. He was a teenage waste of space." Isobel said to them. She didn't want to talk about that.
"A name would be nice." Eva said with a angry voice.
"It would, wouldn't it? You both ask a lot of questions." Isobel commented.
"Why did you compel that man to kill himself? Right after he told us to stop looking for you?" Elena asked her.
"Dramatic impact. I wish it would have been more effective." Isobel finally said.
"Human life means that little to you?" Elena asked even more surprised by the woman in front of her.
"Just because we were looking for you? We just wanted to know why." Eva said to her.
"Means nothing to me. It's just part of being what I am." Isobel said ignoring Eva's question.
"No it's not. I know other vampires, that's not true." Elena said to her remembering about Damon and Stefan.
"Your new boyfriend over there by the pool table? Stefan Salvatore." Isobel said to Elena and then turned to Eva. " And you chose Damon Salvatore." She said to the girls surprised by their choices. "Why Stefan? Why didn't you go for Damon? Or are you enjoying them both like Katherine and Danielle did?" Isobel asked them remembering the story from 1864. Elena and Eva were shocked by the question Isobel did. Stefan looked uncomfortable by that. Danielle and Katherine shared him while Damon refused to be shared by two woman.

While Stefan and the girls were inside the Grill with Isobel, Damon and Alaric were outside waiting for something. The raven vampire was worried about Eva.
"We should be in there." Damon stated to Alaric.
"No, Isobel made it clear we're not to step a foot inside." Alaric said to him knowing that Isobel thought that Damon would killer if necessary.
"I'm not going to kill her in a crowd restaurant." Damon said to Alaric already knowing what the hunter slash teacher thought.
"You're not going to kill her period!" Alaric exclaimed.
"She ruined your life and you still want to protect her?" Damon asked him surprised.
"She's my wife." Alaric tried argue but Damon looked at him. "Was my wife. I looked for the woman I married but she wasn't there. Whoever that is, she's cold and detached." He said resigned.
"Yeah, she's given up her humanity." Damon said to him finally.
"Yeah, see, I don't get that." Alaric started to explain what he saw on his wife. "Stefan has his humanity, he's a good guy and you're a dick and you kill people but I still see something human in you. But with her there was… nothing." Alaric said to him disappointed.
"You can turn it off, like a button you can press." Damon started to explained. "I mean, Stefan's different. He wants the whole human experience. He wants to feel every episode of How I Met Your Mother, so he shuts his feelings out. The problem is, as a vampire, your instinct is not to feel. Isobel chose the easier road… no guilt, no shame, no regret. I mean, come on, if you could turn it off, wouldn't you?" Damon finally asked him about that.
"You haven't." Alaric stated knowing that Damon had his emotions on.
"Of course I have Ric. It's why I'm so fun to be around." Damon said trying to hide the truth about that.

In the Grill, Elena and Eva were still with Isobel talking, trying to get more informations from her about their origins.
"Why did you want to meet me and my sister? Can't be to just catch up." Elena asked her trying to know the truth.
"Because I'm curious about you two. But the real reason is: I want what your uncle wants. Jonathan Gilbert's invention." Isobel stated already reveling her motives to come to the town.
"How do you know my uncle?" Eva asked her with curiosity.
"I used to spend a lot of time here when I was younger. John had a crush on me for years. He was the first one that told me about vampires." Isobel explained to them.
"So what made you want to be one?" Elena asked her when Eva simply looked at Isobel trying to understand her.
"It's a very long list of reasons, Elena. All of which I'm sure you've thought about." She told them and then turned to Eva too. "And you two, Eva. If you and Damon end up together, you will think the same thing, I assure you both." Isobel finished.
"No." Elena said with conviction.
"Maybe I will be turned or not. I don't know right now." Eva said unsure.
"That was your first lie. It's inevitable, you're going to get old, Stefan won't." Isobel said to her and Elena looked at Stefan. When she looked at him, he had sad look on his face. "Forever doesn't last very long when you're human but I'm not surprised by your answer Eva, to be with Damon, you would want to be turned. I'm impressed." Isobel finally said to them.
"I'm sorry but we don't have what you're looking for." Elena stated to her and when they got up Isobel caught both their arms and forced them to sit down once again.
"Sit down." Isobel ordered to them and Stefan was going towards them because he saw both girls tensed. "And tell Stefan to walk away. I want the invention." She ordered to Elena and Eva.
"We don't have it." Elena said once again to her.
"I know that but Damon does and you're going get it for me." Isobel stated to Eva looking at her.
"He's not going to give it to me." Elena said to Isobel.
"But he will give to Eva." Isobel stated to Elena.
"How do you know? Damon doesn't trust anyone." Eva stated to Isobel.
"Then the blood will be on your hands." Isobel said and got up to leave but turned to the girls. "It was nice meeting you Elena and you too, Eva." She said and finally left. Elena and Eva looked at each other and started to cry. Stefan went towards them to confort the girls when Bonnie arrived at the Grill. The twins got up and looked at their friend but when Stefan arrived behind them and Elena looked at him and then looked at Bonnie while Eva continued staring at Eva. Bonnie looked at Stefan and left them.

Jeremy was in the kitchen, calling Anna, to try to find her. She went missing since last night. He was worried with her.
"Hey Anna. Where are you? What's up? Uh… Give me a call when you get this." He said leaving a voice mail.
"How is Anna? I like that girl, she has fire." Jenna said to Jeremy after he had hang up the phone call.
"I don't know. She won't return my calls." Jeremy said worried.
"Girl trouble?" John asked when he entered the kitchen.
"No, no trouble. Anna just owes me a call, that's it." Jeremy simply said to his uncle.
"Is that the girl that I show you with at the founder's pageant? You two are getting hot and heavy. When was the last time you saw her?" John asked him interested.
"Why?" Jeremy asked already getting suspicious.
"I was just making conversation. No one else in this house likes me. At least I can talk to you especially if you need someone to talk to about girls." John simply said to his nephew.
"Oh please! I'm eating." Jenna said with disgust and left the kitchen.
"So seriously, how well do you know Anna?" John asked him when he saw that Jenna wasn't listening.
"I know Anna extremely well." Jeremy stated to his uncle already knowing what his uncle was implying.
"I want you to know that you can talk to me about anything. I'm here to answer any questions that you have, to help you in any way I can." John continued saying to Jeremy.
"Why?" Jeremy asked with curiosity.
"Because your dad would want me to." John said to him.
"I'm good." Jeremy said and left the kitchen.

After knowing what Isobel wanted, Damon went to see her on the house she was occupying, and there he found the two humans that Isobel had compelled and he had started to play strip poked with them, that's why Damon was shirtless.
"Oh, Oh Cherie, you won again. I hope I'm wearing my good underwear." Damon said sarcastically and got up from the chair where he started to remove his belt when Isobel arrived after her meeting with Elena and Eva.
"And it's just one blast from the past after another. No, no, no." Isobel said after seeing Damon closing the fly of his pants. "Degage Cherie." Isobel said and Cherie got up to leave the room.
"It's good to see you, Isobel. I was just having fun with your naughty little minion." He said to her smirking.
"How did you find me?" Isobel asked him surprised to see him.
"Search for the neighborhood bank owned foreclosures and found the most expensive one." Damon said and went towards her.
"Oh I should have known. You're the one who taught me that. What are you really doing here?" Isobel asked once again.
"Well you caused quite a stir, you blew into town. Saw everyone except for the man who made you. I'm a little hurt." Damon said and leaned in towards her.
"I'm so sorry." Isobel said to him and twisted Damon's head around. "Did you bring the device?" She asked him.
"What are you doing with John Gilbert?" Damon asked her again.
"We dated a few times when we were young. He was a little bit in love with me." She explained to Damon.
"I'm sure. One of the many. Now, this little invention what do you want with it?" The raven vampire asked her nicely.
"Oh, me personally? I don't want anything with it. I'm just doing what I'm told. You know Damon we're on the same side." Isobel said and took Damon's face on her hands.
"Oh yeah? What side is that?" Damon asked curiosity on his voice.
"Danielle and Katherine's. They wants John Gilbert to have the device and I think that you know that they are not happy when they don't get what they want, especially those two." Isobel said to Damon hoping he would give her the device.
"Why are you doing her dirty work?" Damon asked throwing her off.
"Don't kill the messenger. We both know that you can't control them. They do what they want." Isobel stated to him.
"So do I." Damon stated to her.
"Oh really Damon? You do?" She asked him and went close to him. "What should we do now?" Isobel asked and they laughed. Then they began to kiss each other when the older vampire slammed her on the floor. "Now that I have your attention, listen up. You do not come into my town; threaten the people I care about. Going after Eva and Elena Gilbert? Bad move. You leave them alone or I will rip you to bits because I do believe in killing the messenger. You know why? Because it sends a message. Danielle and Katherine want something from me? You tell those little bitches to come get it themselves." Damon said getting up and left the house.

Elena and Eva were going down the stairs, they wanted to talk alone about what Isobel wanted from them when someone was knocking on the door. Elena went to open the door and it was Bonnie.
"Hi." Elena said happy to see her.
"Hey, Bon." Eva said seeing her best friend besides her twin sister.
"Hey. I couldn't sleep last night. You were obviously upset about something and I just walked away. It's not me. That can't be us. You're my friends, girls. If you need me I'm here for you and I'm sorry I couldn't show you that yesterday." Bonnie explained to them.
"We met our birth mother." Elena said directly to her.
"Oh. Was it... Are you okay?" Bonnie asked them.
"No, we are not." Eva said and started to cry. Elena joined her when Bonnie embraced them together.

At the High School, Matt was building the float when Tyler arrived to help him.
"Hey man. So Caroline tells me you've been on your own for the past two weeks. Is everything okay?" Tyler asked him worried.
"You're asking me about my mom. Seriously? Look, man, why don't I just tell her to give you a call when she comes back to town?" Matt asked surprised at Tyler's stupid question about Kelly Donavan.
"Dude, that's not what I meant okay? I'm just trying to… I don't know what to say." He said to Matt trying to apologize.
"God men, don't say anything. You're a dick, end of the story." Matt stated to him.
"I know." Tyler agreed with him. "Whatever." Tyler said and watched Matt leave.

Bonnie was leafing through Emily's spell book when Elena and Eva entered one of the class rooms of the school.
"Hey! Thanks for meeting me. I wanted you to see this." Bonnie said when she saw the girls had got inside the room.
"Is that Emily's spell book?" Elena asked Bonnie.
"I've been going through it since Grams died. Check this out." Bonnie said to the girls and showed them the book.
"That's the vampire compass." Eva said seeing the drawings there.
"Yeah, according to Emily, Jonathan Gilbert never actually succeeded in inventing anything. Emily secretly spelled them all with magic. Compass, rings and the mystery device you told me about." Bonnie explained and showed them the page from the spell book where the device was designed.
"Yeah that's it. Well, a part of it. Damon only has the one piece." Eva explained to her friend.
"Emily pledged her loyalty to Katherine and Danielle. But she couldn't stand by and watch innocent people get killed. This was the only way she could think of to help. To let Jonathan Gilbert believe that he'd actually invented these devices." Bonnie explained to the girls.
"Does it say what it does?" Elena asked to Bonnie.
"Are you sure this is what Isobel wants?" Bonnie asked after reading the page.
"Yeah, I'm sure. Why?" Eva asked her.
"This is a weapon. Against vampires." Bonnie said to them and surprised was showing on their faces.

Jeremy was walking around and saw Elena and Eva talking and looking around for Stefan or Damon.
"Elena! Eva!" Jeremy called them.
"Hey, have you seen Stefan? I need to find him." Elena asked her little brother.
"No, not lately. Listen, do you have a second?" He asked them.
"Yeah. What's up? What's going on?" Eva asked him.
"Well, it's Anna. I've left her all this messages and she hasn't gotten back to me, not even a text." He explained to them.
"Anna? I didn't know that you guys were still friends." Elena said surprised.
"We're more than friends. Look, something could be seriously wrong and if you know anything you've got to tell me." Jeremy pressed them.
"I haven't talked to her, Jer." Elena stated to him.
"Me neither, Jer." Eva said the same thing.
"Are you lying to me right now?" He asked them remembering that they asked Damon to compel him with fake memories.
"Why do you say that?" Elena asked surprised.
"'Cause that's what you do. Lying. You lie about everything. I know what Anna is and I know that you know. So tell me, do you have any idea where she is?" Jeremy asked them once again.
"No, but Jer…" Elena started to explained but Jeremy left them. "Jeremy wait!" Elena started to call after him.
"Jeremy! Wait! Let us explain!" Eva called after him too.

When they turned around to continue to look for Stefan or Damon, they found Isobel standing right behind them.
"Isobel. What are you doing here?" Elena asked her.
I'm your mother, girls. I want to be more involved in your lives." Isobel said to them like it was obvious.
"I don't want you in my life." Elena stated simply.
"Me neither." Eva said the same thing as her sister.
"I understand that. You already have a lot of people that you care about but I've been studying. Let's see if I got this right." Isobel said to them and started to look around until she found Bonnie. "There is the witchy best friend, Bonnie. Gonna stay away from that one." She said to them and the girls started to panic while Isobel started to look around for another victim. "Oh… sad little brother Jeremy." She said looking at Jeremy, their brother. "And there's Caroline… obnoxious Caroline. I got all of my info from her by the way. She had no idea who I was and she wouldn't stop yapping. Oh…" She said about Caroline, because the girls knew that Caroline couldn't keep nothing from anyone, even someone she didn't knew. "And there's Matt, friend, ex, yappy's future ex. Lots of connection there." She said after put her sites on the blue eyed boy, Matt Donavan. "And there it is the ex-boyfriend, Tyler." Isobel said looking at Tyler.
"Matt is not involved in this." Elena said to defend Matt.
"Don't involve Tyler in this, he doesn't know a thing." Eva tried to defend Tyler.
"They are involved with you, aren't they?" Isobel asked to the girls.
"Look, you shouldn't be here. You need to leave." Elena said to Isobel.
"Exactly. Leave right now!" Eva ordered to Isobel.
"No, I have some friends here too." Isobel said to them and then pointed to the man she had with her on the house she was occupying. "Look, you see that man over there, standing next to Matt by the Float? His name is Frank, he's very handsome and he's also quite handy and he'd noticed that the axles are a little rusty which is very dangerous. So, all you have to do is apply a little bit of pressure and…" Isobel started to say and the girls got nervous understanding where she was going with that.
"No!" Both Elena and Eva yelled while they watched Frank jumping on the trailer above Matt. When he did that, Matt's arm got crushed while the girls watched with horror what that man did. Elena and Eva tried to run for him to help, when Isobel grabbed them.
"Get this trailer! Come on guys help me!" They heard Matt yelling while they continued to watch Tyler rushing to help him with some friends. They continued trying to remove the trailer when Stefan arrived to help and finally they got Matt free. Caroline rushed to Matt when she saw that he was free.
"Caroline, call an ambulance." Stefan said to Caroline and she picked her phone up.
"Why are you doing this?" Elena asked with panic in her voice.
"I'm showing you how easy it is to hurt the people that you care about." Isobel stated to them.
"And you're doing this just because of Jonathan Gilbert's invention?" Eva asked her getting pissed. Eva was having conflict emotions. Sometimes pissed and other times crying over everything.
"Hand it over and all will be stop." Isobel ordered to them.
"I told you, Damon is not going to give it to me." Elena said to her once again.
"Damon doesn't trust anyone. He is not going to give us the invention." Eva said to her.
"I think that you underestimate how much Damon cares about you." Isobel said to Eva.
"He'll kill you before he gives it up." Eva stated to her.
"Is that before or after I kill your brother Jeremy?" Isobel asked them and both of them turned around to see Jeremy. He had disappeared when they were talking with Isobel.
"Jeremy?" Elena called him while Stefan looked at Elena when he heard her calling for her little brother. "Jeremy?!" She called again and when she notice that Isobel was gone too. She had taken Jeremy with her.
"She is gone and took Jeremy." Eva said to Elena.

"The ambulance is saying in 15-20 minutes." Caroline informed them when she hanged up her phone.
"I have my car. I can take him to the hospital." Tyler suggested to them.
"Caroline can take me." Matt stated because he didn't want to go with Tyler.
"I didn't drive here." Caroline told him.
"I'll wait. It's fine." Matt said to her groaning with pain.
"You will not wait okay?! You need to see a doctor, Tyler is driving. End of story." She ordered him.
"Fine!" Matt said resigned.
"Go!" Caroline said turning to Tyler.
"I'll bring my car around." Tyler said leaving while Matt looked at Caroline.

John arrived once again at the house Isobel was staying and when he entered in the house, he that there was a lot of suitcases in the entry.
"I see you're packing. That's a good sign." John said to her.
"It won't be long now." Isobel said to him happy with her plan.
"Did you get the missing piece? Where is it?" John asked her wanting the device.
"I don't have it yet." Isobel stated to him.
"Then, why did you call me here?" John asked her. Isobel started to go to another room and John followed her.
"Because I have the next best thing." Isobel simply stated to him when she entered the room. Jeremy was on a couch with Cherie and Frank around him.
"What the hell are you doing?" John said outraged that Isobel was using someone from his family.
"Getting what I want." Isobel said to him.
"Yeah but he is my nephew and you're going let him go right this second!" John ordered to Isobel.
"That gaudy ring on your finger, comes off." Isobel said to him pointing to the Gilbert ring that belonged to Alaric.
"Come on Isobel, I know you okay? It's me John. You can't hurt a kid." John said to her hoping she would stop.
"I'll kill him to prove you wrong." Isobel stated to him.
"Really? Are you that far gone? Look, I know you've changed but the old Isobel is somewhere in there, isn't she? Come on let him go." John pleaded to her.
"Faites le souffrir." Isobel said to her guardians in french. Cherie and Frank started to beat John and threw him on the floor. Isobel used that moment to remove the ring from his hand. "Nice try. We'll see how you do without this." Isobel said to him and left the room. Jeremy, that was awake, looked at John that it was on the floor, bleeding.

Eva had already arrived at the Salvatore Boarding House, she was in the living room talking with Damon, hoping that he would give her the device.
"Please Damon, give the device to give to Isobel. My brother's life depends on that, please." Eva pleaded with Damon.
"I will think about it, okay?" Damon said to her touching her cheek.
"I can't lose anyone else, Damon." Eva said to him with so much emotion on her voice when they heard someone coming.

Bonnie was with Stefan and Elena on Alaric's classroom. Eva had decided to talk with the older Salvatore to convince her into giving her the device to save Jeremy.
"Where is the device?" Bonnie asked Stefan and Elena.
"Damon has it. He's going to be difficult to reason with." Stefan said to Bonnie.
"We'll go to him, I'll talk to him." Elena said with a decisive voice.
"He's not just gonna hand it over, especially if it's harmful to vampires." Stefan stated the obvious. "And Eva went already to talk with him."
"I know and what if it's not?" Elena asked them while they all looked at each other.

Damon and Eva were still talking about everything that had happened since the meeting with Isobel on the Grill and what she had done to Matt when they were preparing everything for the Founder's Day, when they heard Stefan, Elena and Bonnie coming inside the house. Damon knowing what they were going to say decided to talk already.
"Absolutely not." Damon said to them.
"Just hear me out." Elena said to Damon almost pleading.
"Elena, I already tried." Eva stated to her sister.
"I'm not gonna give the device to Isobel so she could give it to John who is going to turn it to kill me. I like being a living dead person." Damon said to her.
"But it'll be useless, Bonnie can take its power away." Elena said to Damon arguing.
"What? She can?" Eva said smiling for the first time.
"I don't trust her." Damon said to them once again.
"I can remove the original spell." Bonnie explained to Damon.
"John and Isobel will never know." Elena said to him.
"Damon, it is a good idea." Eva said turning to him.
"No, I'll get Jeremy in my own way." Damon stated to the girls.
"How Damon?" Eva asked him staring at his icy blue eyes.
"Really? How are you going to do that? Because Isobel is a vampire and Jeremy could be dead the second you walk in the door." Stefan said to his brother trying to show him that he had to find another way.
"Are you even up for this? I mean no offense, you're no Emily Bennett. Emily knew what she was doing." Damon asked Bonnie.
"I've been practicing." Bonnie stated to him.
"It's not piano lessons, honey." Damon said to her sarcastically.
"What's your favorite book?" Bonnie asked Damon trying to show him that she was good in what she was going to do.
"What?" Damon asked surprised by that question.
"Name a book, any book." Bonnie instructed him.
"Name a book… How about Call Of The Wild, Jack London?" Damon said to her and Bonnie turned and looked around the library. Then all of the sudden a book flied and landed on Damon's hands. When he turned to read the title he saw that it was the book he said to Bonnie. "Jack London. Great parlor trick." Damon said sarcastically.
"We're doing this, Damon. And we're doing it my way. Now give me the device. We're wasting time!" Elena stated to him.
"I don't trust you, I tried to kill you." Damon said turning to Bonnie.
"You're right, you can't trust me." Bonnie agreed with him.
"But you can trust me." Eva said to Damon while he looked up at her. Stefan and Elena looked at them, Stefan was seeing that his brother was having feelings for the older Gilbert twin. Damon sighed and gave her the device while Stefan looked once again to his brother and then hugged Elena's waist. "Thank you." Eva said to him smiling.
"Yes, thank you." Elena thanked him too.
"Did it for Eva, not for you." Damon stated to Elena.

John was lying on the ground with pains when Jeremy came towards him with a towel for him to clean the blood.
"Here you go." Jeremy said giving him the towel.
"Thank you." John thanked him.
"What is she after?" Jeremy asked him with curiosity.
"Your ancestor invented a weapon, a device that's extremely harmful to vampires and we've been trying to get it." John explained to him.
"Why?" Jeremy asked once again.
"Because there's a group of vampires from a long time ago that wants revenge on this town." John continued to explain.
"But why would a vampire help you kill other vampires?" Jeremy asked with curiosity.
"She has her own reasons for wanting them dead. Look Jeremy, no one ever thought vampires would return to this town. Not in modern times, but they have and we have to destroy them." John finally told him.
"All of them? No, there are some good ones out there." Jeremy said trying to defend Anna in some way.
"There's no such things." John said to him.
"I don't believe that." Jeremy told him convinced that not all the vampires are bad.
"Well, your dad did. And has his son that should mean something to you." John said to Jeremy trying to tell him that he should protect the town against the vampires.
"How did my father know about all this?" Jeremy asked with curiosity.
"Who do you think told me about the family history?" John finally said to him.

At the Salvatore Boarding House, Bonnie had Emily's Grimoire opened on a table and the device was next to it. Bonnie was going to desiccative the device for the girls to give to Isobel to save their brother. When Bonnie began the spell, Damon, Elena, Eva and Stefan were looking at her. The device started to float on the air and the fire from the fireplace started to get strong until a second later, the device was on the table once again and the fire calmed down.
"Done." Bonnie said to them and gave the device to Elena.
"Great, now what?" Damon asked them.
"Now we give it to Isobel." Elena stated and left the room with Stefan behind her with Bonnie.

At the Mystic Falls Square, both Elena and Eva were waiting for Isobel to come to give her the device. They were looking around when Isobel arrived and stayed behind them.
"Where is the device?" Isobel asked them.
"Where is my brother?" Elena asked her pissed.
"This isn't a negotiation. Where is the invention?" Isobel asked once again.
"That's right. Where is my brother?" Eva asked her once again.
"Where is my brother?" Elena asked after her sister.
"Do you really think that I came alone?" Isobel asked them and they saw Frank and Cherie arriving behind Elena.
"Did you really think that we came alone?" Elena asked her and she saw Damon and Stefan arriving behind Isobel.
"For god sakes, call home." Isobel said to them.
"What?" Eva asked her not understanding.
"Call home and ask to speak to your brother Jeremy." Isobel instructed them. Then Eva took her phone and called home.
"Hello?" Jeremy said into the phone.
"Jeremy, are you okay?" Eva asked her little brother.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine, Uncle John hit his head. It was an accident." Jeremy said to his older sister.
"We're all laughing." Jenna said laughing.
"But yeah I'm okay." Jeremy finally said.
"We'll be home soon, alright?" Eva said to her brother.
"Yeah." Jeremy said and hanged up the phone looking up at his uncle.
"You were never gonna hurt him." Elena stated to Isobel.
"No, I was going to kill him. Don't look for any redeeming qualities in me. I don't have any." Isobel said to them.
"But you took a risk with Damon. How did you know that he was going to give it to me?" Eva asked Isobel.
"Because he's in love with you." Isobel stated to Eva while Damon looked at Stefan looking a little uncomfortable. Stefan seemed upset because he didn't want to see Eva getting hurt by him. Elena gave then, the device to Isobel.
"Thank you." Elena said after a long pause.
"Yes, thank you." Eva said already knowing what Elena meant by that.
"For what?" Isobel asked them.
"For being such a monumental disappointment. It keeps the memory of our real mother perfectly intact." Elena said to her.
"Exactly. Miranda and Grayson Gilbert were the best parents with had." Eva agreed with her twin sister.
"Goodbye, girls. As long as you both, have a Salvatore brother on your arm, you are both doomed. Katherine and Danielle were smart. They got out. But we all know that you both are not Katherine and Danielle." Isobel said looking at them and left them alone while Stefan embraced Elena, Eva went to Damon and he hugged her. When Stefan looked at his brother and Eva, he saw them leaving the square while Stefan watched them go.

Jeremy was on his room and was on his phone leaving a vocal message to Anna, he was worried with her when Elena entered in his room.
"Jeremy we have to talk about all this." Elena said to him.
"No, we really don't." Jeremy said pissed at her.
"I don't know what Anna told you but there are things that you need to know." Elena tried to talk with him.
"Yeah? Because I'm pretty sure that your journal covered it." Jeremy stated pissed at Elena and Eva.
"You read my journal?" Elena asked him surprised.
"And save me the speech about invasion of privacy because I read a section about Damon erasing my memory, about what happened to Vicki, specially Eva, knew everything and never told me anything." Jeremy stated to her getting more and more mad at her.
"Jeremy, please, you don't understand. The night that Vicki died, it was like mom and dad died all over again. Eva did what she had to do. She did to protect you and me. It was all over your face and it hurt so much to see you like that. I just wanted to take away your pain. I'm so sorry." Elena tried to explain to him.
"Get out!" Jeremy yelled at her.
"No Jeremy." Elena tried to stay to convince him to stay.
"Elena! Just get out. Please." Jeremy pleaded with her.
"Jer, I..." Elena tried once again when she turned around. Then he closed the door on her face.

Alaric was walking in an empty hallway while Isobel was waiting for him to come.
"What do you want?" Alaric asked when he saw her.
"I totally get it, you, here as a history teacher. It's good." Isobel said to him smiling.
"What the hell are you doing? You act like you don't care and yet here you are hunting me down." Alaric stated to her with a little fear on his voice.
"I'm leaving. I just thought I could say goodbye." Isobel informed him.
"You couldn't be bothered the first time so why now?" Alaric asked her sarcastically.
"You hate me. Good." Isobel said with a emotionless voice.
"Does that make it easier for you? I mean what is the whole point of this exercise?" He asked her once again sarcastically. He was getting Damon's words and actions.
"What did you expect? You spent all this time trying to track me down. What did you think you would find?" Isobel asked him once again with a cold voice.
"The woman who gave me this." Alaric started and showed her the ring."I mean you act like you don't care but you care enough to protect me after you left." Alaric said to her with the same cold voice.
"I was a different person back then." Isobel stated to him.
"Right! And that person is gone. The woman that I married, the woman I loved, she's just, she's gone." Alaric said and removed his ring and threw it at her. "You expect me to believe that?" Alaric said throwing the vervain on the floor.
"What are you doing?" Isobel asked him surprised.
"Well, I'm ring free, I'm vervain free. So, either kill me or compel me because I don't believe it. Not for a second." Alaric stated at her.
(Isobel pushes him against the wall)
"I wanted this, I needed this and I'm going to regret it forever. This was my mistake, not yours." Isobel stated while pushed him into the wall. "You're not going to remember this. I loved you, I did and when I think about what I gave up it hurts. But now your heart is free of me, it's easier this way. Goodbye Ric." She compelling him while she putted the ring on his finger, touched his face and finally left.

Damon and Eva were talking in the living room and avoiding the subject that Isobel said to them, Damon being in love with Eva. She was nervous being around him, she still was uncertain what he felt for her. Damon on the other way around was even more certain that he was in love with Eva, but the name Danielle still was on his head. They were still talking when they heard Stefan arriving at the house. When Stefan got inside the living room, Eva was leaving the house. She nodded at Stefan and left the house.

Jeremy was getting ready to go to bed when Anna appeared.
"Anna? What are you doing here?" Jeremy asked her worried.
"My mother. She's dead." Anna said to him crying.
"What?" Jeremy said even more worried.
"She was killed." Anna said crying more.
"Oh my god Anna. Hey I'm so sorry." He said getting up to hug her.
"I know I'm not supposed to be here but I don't have anywhere else to go." She said sobbing.
"It's okay." He said hugging her tight.

Damon was pouring himself a glass of bourbon when Stefan got inside the living room after he saw Eva leaving the house.
"Would you like one? Say it, whatever it is, purge, get it out." Damon said knowing that Stefan wanted to say something.
"It's about what Isobel said." Stefan stated to him.
"What about?" Damon asked him already suspecting what he wanted to say.
"Well, I know that you and Eva have bounded and I know that she cares about you and… I know you care about her." Stefan said to him.
"Well, this is going in an interesting direction." Damon commented not surprised.
"I'm just concerned about Eva being hurt. She considers you a friend." Stefan said to him hoping he would tell the truth.
"Same here, Eva is a very good friend. Actually, she might qualify as my only… friend. Is that a problem?" Damon asked his brother.
"So, at the risk of sounding like uh… like a jealous friend." Stefan started.
"Oh, there's no risk, you do." Damon said sarcastically.
"History will not be repeating itself where Eva and Elena are concerned. Do you understand what I'm saying?" Stefan asked his brother. He didn't want that him and Damon end up just like they did with Danielle and Katherine.
"Sure. Sure." Damon said sarcastically.
"Do you understand?" Stefan said when he used his vampire speed to stay in front of him.
"Whatever you say man, I mean honestly we're just friends and as a friend I wasn't looking forward to telling Elena and Eva the truth anyway so, I'll let you do it." Damon said smirking.
"What truth?" Stefan asked not understanding.
"About John. Because I know you guys don't like to keep secrets from each other and I will tell Eva." Damon continued telling him.
"What are you talking about?" Stefan asked again not understanding again.
"Am I the only one around here who has the ability to put two and two together? Isobel! Hello? She dated John when she was 15; she gets pregnant and ends up at the doctor's office of John's brother. Now, what do you think John's role is in all this? I mean, go ahead, and think about it, I'll wait. Did you get it? You there yet?" Damon said to him sarcastically waiting for his brother start understanding.
"So you think that John is Eva and Elena's father?" Stefan finally asked where his brother was going with that.
"Ding, ding, ding!" Damon said to him.
"What proof do you have?" Stefan asked hoping that his brother had some proof for that accusation.
"I don't need any proof, that's a DNA test for John, Elena, Eva and Maury Povich to deal with but I know how well you deal with these bombs so… Sleep tight." Damon said and left the room. "Oh and when I do tell Eva and she needs a friend to talk to about anything, I'm here for her." Damon said to his brother and left to go to his room.

John was on the couch when his phone started to ring.
"Hello?" He said when he picked up the phone.
"On your doorstep you'll find what you've been looking for." Isobel said into the phone.
"And my ring?" John asked her going to the front door.
"Don't screw this up. You know what you have to do, John." Isobel said once again.
"I got it. I won't fail." John said to her and opened the door to pick up the envelope where the device was.
"You better not. Katherine and Danielle want all of those tomb vampires dead, and I want to add two more to that list." Isobel said while he retrieved his ring.
"Let me guess." John said already knowing which vampires where while he putted his ring on his finger.
"Stefan and Damon. I don't want this life for them." Isobel said to John.
"That was always part of the plan. Consider them gone." John stated to her wanting to protect Elena and Eva from everything.
"They are ours daughters, John. We owe that to them." Isobel said reveling what Damon was already suspecting.
"I know." John said and hanged up the phone.

Caroline and Bonnie were at the Grill talking and drinking something at one of the tables.
"So you're not going to tell me what happened?" Caroline asked Bonnie worried.
"I did something bad, Caroline, and I lied about it." Bonnie stated to Caroline.
"To who?" Caroline asked her even more worried.
"To Elena and Eva. I pretended to do something I didn't really do." Bonnie explained to her friend.
"What are you talking about?" Caroline asked her not fully understanding.
"I couldn't do what they wanted me to do. It wasn't right. Grams would have never done it, so I couldn't either. But when Elena and Eva find out, they are never gonna forgive me." Bonnie finally said to Caroline.
