Naruto, Hinata, Kiba, Shikamaru, and Choji stood in the hall outside Shino's hospital room. They had rushed their injured friend back to Kohona's hospital as fast as they could. Lady Tsunade and Sakura were currently tending to him. Hinata and Kiba were the most anxious, being Shino's teammates. After a while, Sakura and Tsunade emerged from the room.
"So, how is he?" Kiba asked.
"Yeah Grandma, I he gonna be okay?" Naruto added.
"His head was hit pretty hard, but we think he'll be alright in general." The Hokage responded.
"I feel a 'but' coming…" Shikamaru sighed.
"But, he may have a head condition we may not be able to fix ourselves. Of course, we won't know that until he wakes up." Sakura added, looking over a clipboard.
"Shino'll be fine, believe it!" Naruto yelled, receiving a prompt smack from Sakura.
"C-can we see him?" Hinata requested shyly. Tsunade smiled kindly at the group of Gennin and single Chunin.
"Go on in. I need to tell his family what happened." Tsunade left down the hall, Sakura following. The group went in, gathering around Shino's bed. He looked different. His large coat was lying in a chair, and his sunglasses were sitting on the bedside table, the lenses cracked. The friends gazed at Shino, wishing that he would wake up.
"So," Naruto said, "What do you think that head condition might be?" The others shook their heads.
"No idea." Shikamaru drawled. "Could be anything, but hopefully it's not serious."
"Yeah, Shino with a head injury would suck even more then how he normally is." Kiba added, Hinata nodding in agreement.
"You got to admit," Choji said next, "He looks pretty strange without his jacket and sunglasses."
"Definitely not something Shino would normally do, believe it!" Everyone glared at Naruto (the exception being Hinata). The group continued to chat until Sakura poked her head in.
"Why don't you all go home for a bit? You can come see him later today." She said. Not wanting to cross Lady Tsunade's student, they all left. Not long after the group of visitors and Sakura left, Shino's eye slowly began to open…
