Okay, so...
I remember saying that I wasn't giving up on this story, and I meant it. I still mean it to this day, even though it's been over a year since I've updated. I refuse to graduate college without finishing a story.
However.
In order to graduate high school, I had to complete a senior project based on whatever the hell I wanted to do with my life. I took GFN and rewrote a couple chapters, which started the revision process for me. I finished Chapters 1, 2, 18, 21, and split Chapter 34 into two parts. Since then, I've been trying to rewrite the entire story because, let's be honest, I wrote it as an amateur 7th grader in 2007-08. It's painful for me to look back at and read now. I changed the HSM character names, a couple physical appearances, the name of the school, scenes, just a lot of shit has been changed to become more believable. And big revisions spread to other aspects of the story, such as the sequel and the idea of an all-out trilogy. I'm changing parts of GFN (even the title, good lord), writing a book between that and DLD (title change, too, obviously) which means that "DLD" as of now is mostly getting scrapped.
Dammit.
I hate to use the H word, but this story is going on an unofficial, indefinate hiatus. I'm putting myself on the path to becoming a published fiction author and it's becoming clear that it doesn't come without sacrifices. Brandon, Tyler, and Arianne's story needs to be bigger than Fanfiction (those are Troy and Gabriella's new names, btw), not that I don't appreciate you guys for giving me my start. It's just that I've changed so much about "GFN" and it wouldn't make sense to finish "DLD". Plus, I'm working a lot, about to go to school, and dealing with my first relationship. If you want, I can tell you how I was going to end this story before all the rewrites. Tell me if you want to know what could've been in a review or PM.
I'm still keeping my FF account open, and if I get anymore ideas for some HSM or any other stories, I'll write and post them whenever I can.
One more thing before I go: I'm really proud of the way this new version is turning out. Let me know if you want to look over the first chapter of the new GFN, titled Love On the Battlefield.
I love you guys.
~Rachel :)
