Misaka tossed and turned in her sleep trying to reposition herself into a more comfortable position, clenching her eyes shut from the light that was coming from what she guessed was a window. It wasn't until a familiar warmth caressing her abdomen did she start to arise from her sleep.
"Kuroko…" She sighed
But instead of getting mad she just smiled and flipped around grasping the girl and pulling her in close.
"Just for today okay." She whispered quietly taking in the scent of the girls hair. 'Vanilla… her hair usually has a flowery like scent. I wonder if she's using a different shampoo' she wondered
"ohoho, So is this what you and Shirai-san do every morning?" an unfamiliar yet oh so familiar voice said.
Misaka's eyes snapped open, and she sent out volts of electricity around her. Not out of fear but more from surprise of the unfamiliar voice. Misaka jumped up. Finally realizing she was sleeping on the floor. 'No wonder it was so damn uncomfortable… And no wonder the scent was different' she made a mental note. It wasn't until a few seconds past by that she finally started to remember the event of the day before regrettably, and taking in an eye-full of her surroundings. 'Oh Crap' was her last thought as she glanced back at the victim of her couple hundred volts of electricity.
Kuroko shot up from her bed. Eyes wide with tears pouring out. She had another nightmare like the past few nights, but the difference between this one compared to the ones she's been having consistently for the past 3 days, is that it wasn't a dream of her friends and her Onee-sama slowly disappearing right in front of her as she helplessly watched unable to move or say anything. This dream however, was a dream focusing mainly on her Onee-sama. To be more specific it was a dream of the older girl glaring at her with a snarl. No words were spoken between them. The older girl shook her head in disapproval and walked away from her and just as quickly disappeared, Before Kuroko could even reach out her hand to stop her. I guess you could say it was a dream of the older girl abandoning her more or less.
She glanced toward the window, and guessing by the position of the sun, it had to be around noon. She sighed, wiping away the remaining tears, thankful it was the weekend instead of a school day. The change of pace with her dreams was probably due to the events that took place the day before. She searched tirelessly for the older girl that took off after misunderstanding a certain scene that took place earlier. She ended up collapsing from fatigue, and then being forced by a scary Konori to end her search and head back to her dorm.
She really did respect the woman, but when Konori got REALLY angry, the only thing Kuroko could compare her to is a rampaging demon released from its shackles. The image itself made Kuroko shiver.
Kuroko pulled out her phone that she placed under her pillow last night in hopes of news from Uiharu or Konori of her Onee-sama's whereabouts. But from the looks of the blank phone her hopes were crushed.
But instead of sadness, her eyes burned with determination. 'No… I won't cry anymore. It's time for me to act!' She looked at her still bandaged hand that Uiharu re-wrapped before she left, and clenched it tightly. 'My father will be arriving in the City tomorrow' she smirked 'unfortunately for him I won't be here!'
Kuroko started to vigorously throw off her sleep wear while she strided to her closet and slammed it open. She scanned over the various things and sighed. She did have a few pairs of clothing but they were all Tokiwadai uniforms, (And her variety of different Lingerie she had on the bottom of her closet.) considering the fact that Tokiwadai students were obligated to wear their uniforms at all times even on the days when there were no classes. So she didn't feel the need to buy anything extra.
She glared at the bland selection she had in front of her and scoffed.
"I guess this will have to do for now" I could always grab something different later on at a shop.
Finally dressed, she looked around the room and at her belongings. 'I don't want to give that bastard any kind of clues. Plus it would release any sort of suspicion of her onee-sama being in on her plan. Sorry Onee-sama, I won't be able to say goodbye like I planned' A wave of emotions quickly swept over her, but just as quickly she pushed them away.
She huffed. 'I should have done this last night, now im going to have to make one long trip in broad daylight.'
Kuroko really didn't have that many belongings. Her collection of lingerie and other interesting undergarments, Her uniforms, and her books and photo albums which most consisted of the level 5 electromaster.
Kuroko pulled out a suitcase she got the other day that she successfully been able to hide from the older girl. She threw it onto her bed and began to throw the rest of her tokiwadai uniforms, and her books, and photo albums. But as she place the last photo album in her suitcase an image fluttered out and landed on the floor.
She bent down curiously and picked the image up and flipping it over to look at it. She smiled sadly. It was a picture of herself, and the older girl, standing side by side with Misaka having a big happy grin on her face holding out a yellow gekota strap, and Kuroko smiling but holding a hand to her forehead, obviously disapproving of the girls new gekota friend but happy that Misaka was having a good time. It was a picture taken of them after Misaka won a contest at their favorite restaurant Josephs, and got the childish bag strap.
Even now Kuroko placed a hand on her head and shook it disapprovingly just at the thought. 'But it's strange… I don't remember having this picture'. If she was correct she remembered they only got one copy and after pestering the older girl for it so she could add it to her collection of Misaka Mikoto photo album. The older girl told her that she threw it away and it was devoured by one of the cleaning robots that traveled throughout the city . Her eye's traveled back to her suitcase and rummaged through her suitcase for the source of this picture.
Her eyes widened as she picked up the book and flipped through the book.
"T-This is Onee-sama's photo album ." She said aloud.
The older girl probably start to make one for this year because all the images inside of it were pictures of her, Uiharu, and Saten. And surprisingly she had a large amount of pictures of Kuroko. Pictures she hadn't even remember being taken. There were several pictures of herself doing judgment work and others of her daily life.
Kuroko snapped the book closed. And put it back on the shelf we're she had found it. She blushed slightly. "there's no way Onee-sama would have those pictures because of that.." She whispered. "And Why the hell did I grab hers instead of mine?! Do I take her belongings so often that I do it subconsciously now?!" She asked aloud to no one in particular.
She sighed for what seemed to be the hundredth time today. She glanced at the picture that she still had in her grasp and smirked. "Im going to take back whats rightfully mine, Sorry Onee-sama~" She said sarcastically pocketing the image and resuming her packing.
Saten rubbed at her aching joints and moaned in pain. "I can't believe Shirai-san actually gets zapped like this daily."
"Im so sorry!" Misaka said apologetically swinging her head down which had to be the twentieth time. 'Though that was barely as powerful as the shocks she gave Kuroko'
"Its fine, its fine." Saten waved her off. "It was partly my fault anyways." She added.
Misaka sighed. She really had to stop shocking everyone that surprised her or doing it subconsciously like that. It was becoming a nasty habit of hers.
"Anywayyyss, I have to go and meet up with Uiharu today. I promised we'd go shopping for some new panties today!" Saten said almost to excitedly and slowly started to get up.
"Woah, be careful" Misaka said worriedly as she quickly rushed to her side for support.
"I told you im fine Misaka-san" Saten said cheerily wobbling over to grab her bag.
'You sure don't look or walk fine' Misaka fumed at her friends stubbornness.
"I'll be going out now, You can stay for as long as you like!" Saten yelled out before exiting the apartment.
Misaka ruffled her hair and flopped down on the bed. She stayed like that for a few minutes until her eyes shot open and she stood up abruptly.
"Crap!" She yelled out "I forgot all about Kuroko. I must have worried the hell out of her when I didn't come home last night." But she quickly fell back down onto the bed. "Although. She probably didn't even notice being too preoccupied by that guy." She gritted her teeth.
"Whatever! I don't even know why im letting this get to me so much." She growled as she jumped off the bed and strided to the door and swung it open.
"Hey!~" Saten said cheerily into the phone "Are you ready for some Panty shopping!?"
"S-Saten-san! Don't yell that out loud! What if someone hears you?!" Uiharu pleaded.
"Sorry, sorry. Where are you right now?" Saten asked
"Im actually right by Josephs. I thought we could get something to eat before we go to the mall." Uiharu said happily as she imagined all the sweets she wanted to eat.
"Oohh" Saten hummed. Saten was actually not too far from the restaurant. She could actually see it in the distance. Saten grinned mischievously and picked her pace up to a jog.
Uiharu finally snapped out of her little day-dream of sweets as she realized her friend on the other end of the phone had been suspiciously quiet.
"Saten-san?" She said worriedly. "Where are you right now?" Her question was answered almost instantaneously when an all too well voice was heard from behind her.
"U-"
"I-"
"H-"
"Saten-san?" She whispered her face paling as if she knew what was coming.
"A-"
"R-"
"no wai-" Uiharu desperately begged.
"UUUUU!~"
Uiharu was then bombarded with a very cold and unnecessary breeze to her now very exposed backside.
Misaka huffed. Now out of Saten's apartment and out and about in the city. "I can't even begin to imagine what the dorm mistress is going to say or DO to me since I didn't even bother to show up last night." She frowned uncomfortably, and felt chills running up and down her spine. "This is all Kuroko's fault!" She growled.
She stomped her foot on the ground and let out a volt of electricity. That traveled into the ground and into the surrounding light post, causing the bulb to explode.
Which in turn caused the people around her to scream and run away. She looked up at the people as they ran as far away from her as they possibly could with a confused look. She finally started to realize that she accidently released he electricity subconsciously.
"Damn it!' She yelled she she ran her hands through her bangs and letting it rest on her forhead. I really have to calm down.
"I need a drink." She said as she started to make her way to her favorite vending machine when something caught her eye. A flash of black that she saw in the corner of her eye. Her anger that she had been concealing this whole time started to go out of control.
"You!" Misaka spat in anger. Electricity snapping from her bangs warningly.
"Eh? Oh BiriBiri, whats up?" He said nonchalantly.
"Don't you 'Whats Up' me!" Misaka yelled shooting bolt of electricity that Touma quickly negated with his right hand.
"H-Hey!? Are you crazy?! Shooting your electricity everywhere like that in public?!" Touma yelled back, Now getting annoyed himself at the carelessness of the girl.
Completely ignoring him Misaka charged at him with full force and her fist clenched. She threw her fist towards his face but he avoided it. Stumbling backwards in the process.
"Hey! Are you even listening to me?! What the hell did I even do to you to deserve this!?" Touma yelled as he tried to avoid or block Misaka's relentless attacks.
Misaka stopped in mid-step. 'What did he do? Misaka questioned herself. Even if he was with Kuroko. Even if they were dating. It wasn't his fault that he gave the younger girl, The things she always refused to give. It was her fault… It was her fault for being so damn blind and hard headed. It wasn't Touma's fault and neither was it Kuroko's. It was her own.
The tears she'd been holding back had started to pour out from the corners of her eyes as she fell to her knee's.
"I-Im sorry." Misaka whimpered, covering her eyes with her hands.
"BiriBiri?" Touma looked down at her with worried eyes at the sudden change of emotion.
"Please take care of her okay?" Misaka pleaded.
"Wha-?" Touma was sincerely confused he had come to the conclusion that the level 5 had finally gone crazy.
"Please take care of her because-"
"Because, She's so important to me. Please do the things I couldn't plea-" Misaka was interrupted when Touma suddenly grabbed her by her collar and pulled Misaka up to eye level with him.
"For Jesus Christ Misaka! What the hell are you talking about?!" Touma yelled shaking the shivering girl.
"I-I- I Know! I know you and Kuroko are together now." Misaka sniffed tears still pouring out from her eyes.
Touma suddenly dropped Misaka to the ground and started to walk away.
"Wha- Where are you going? And what the hell did you drop me like that for!?" Misaka yelled out while standing up.
"Idiot" Touma whispered clenching his fists.
"What was that?!" Misaka barked back
"You're an idiot! Do you really think your pervy little roommate who despises me more than anything, is in love with me?!" Touma yelled out angrily and spinning around to face the girl again.
"B-but I thought she only pretended to hate you to cover up the fact that you too were together." Misaka stuttered.
Touma's jaw dropped 'really this girl is such an idiot even more then me'.
He sighed. "I guess you're like this because of yesterday huh? That was an accident BiriBiri, she tripped on top of me as she was walking by."
"An accident.." Misaka said quietly with a dumbfounded expression.
"Yeah an accident. Trust me biribiri there's nothing between the two of us. And its not like I'd go out with that creepy pervert anyways." Touma said waving his hand.
"Excuse me! Kuroko is not a creepy pervert! Well she can be sometimes…. But that's not the point you have no right calling her that!" She yelled angrily lashing out with electricity. And Touma took off in the opposite direction "What Misfortune!"
But instead of running off after him Misaka stayed completely still. With a grin going ear to ear. It Was just a misunderstanding! Misaka thought happily. The happiness that overcame her was a stronger happiness then when she won a limited edition Gekota that had a one in a million chance.
"Oh" Misaka snapped out of her daydream. "I have to apologize to Kuroko about misunderstanding and running off like that, I must have worried her sick when I didn't return last night." Misaka said as started to sprint toward the dorms. 'She should still be there considering it was the weekend. and she had the sudden desire to see the girl'
Kuroko sighed. She finally got all her belongings into a safe location that she could store for a few days to a week depending on the situation. What she did keep with her however was the picture that still resides in her pocket from earlier, her phone, and her two black straps on each thigh containing her spikes.
She looked around the room. The right side was not completely empty the only thing left residing there was the older girls belongings. Kuroko walked over to the level 5 electromasters desk and fiddled through her drawers until she pulled out a piece of paper and pen. She quickly wrote on it then folded it up and left it on the table.
"I have to go now. If Onee-sama were to come home now I don't think I'd be able to go through with my plan" She said smiling sadly.
Now out of the room and teleporting throughout the city Kuroko made her way for the border of Academy city. Leaving or escaping the city were both a quite a difficult task considering how high in security they were. But for a teleporter, they could enter and leave the city without breaking a sweat. As she was teleporting a clothing store caught her eye, surprisingly still open at this hour. Deciding to go in there and picking out something else that could better hide her identity.
Now inside the store. Her eyes quickly scanning the shelves and racks, not having that much time to begin with. Her eyes stopped when she got to the jacket rack. 'One of these should be fine' she thought quickly'. Grabbing one of the onyx black jackets and glancing over it. "I would much rather prefer a different color like red or purple but for this occasion I guess black will have to do" she sighed quickly turning around and walking toward the cashier.
As she walked up to the lady working the cash register. She noticed her staring at her.
"Is there something wrong?" Asking the woman as she handed her the jacket she picked out.
"Aren't you from Tokiwadai? Isn't it almost past curfew?" The woman asked eyeing her suspiciously.
"Yes, Now instead of wasting my time with this pointless chatter. I would like to leave as soon as possible" Kuroko said aggravated by the women's nosiness.
The woman looked at her with a surprised expression like she didn't expect such a comeback from one of Tokiwadai's so called proper ladies. After this No words were exchanged between them except for the ugly glares.
Finally out of the retched clothing store Kuroko slipped on the jacket. It was a little large and baggy considering that Kuroko was in such a rush that she didn't care to look at the size. But it didn't really make a difference since she was trying to conceal her identity anyways.
Kuroko walked up to a nearby restaurant window. Not wanting to go back to the clothing store, and looked over her appearance. Now her tokiwadai brazer was completely hidden by the black jacket that went a little farther then her hips. Her gray tokiwadai skirt protruding from under the jacket.
She looked to her face, and then her hair. 'I guess I want to look as different then I usually do as I possibly can. She tugged on both her ribbons causing them to fall, freeing her hair. She then grabbed them and stuck them in her jacket pocket.
"I should stop wasting time here" she said aloud and pulled her hood over her head.
Now once again making her way towards the walls of Academy City, Jumping off roof tops then teleporting herself to the next. 'I should be there in the next 5 minutes then I'll head north, as far away from my father as I can' Her thoughts were completely stopped when a dark silhouette of a person appeared on the roof top seemingly out of nowhere. She came to a screeching stop sliding forward trying to keep her momentum from the teleportation from crashing into the person.
"What the-" Kuroko said as she stumbled over her feet. 'what the hell is someone doing up here?!
Now completely stable she glared at the dark figure that almost caused her to face plant on the roof-top.
"exscuse me if I may ask, but what the hell are you doing on the roof?" Kuroko asked angrily at the second person today wasting her time.
"I suppose I could ask you the same." A cold icy feminine voice responded.
Kuroko's skin crawled at the darkness of the voice. The only thing she could compare it to was something like one of those psychopathic antagonists in an anime that was always shrouded in mystery, and barely spoke. But when they did you instantly regretted it.
Kuroko tried to move but strangely her limbs didn't respond, They were glued in place not willing to budge. 'why am I shaking? Why did just hearing her voice frighten me so much?' Kuroko pressed her hand against her left arm trying to stop. Kuroko's body flinched as she noticed the black silhouette start to make its way slowly towards her.
"I've always wanted to meet you. Too bad it had to be in such circumstances though." The person said sighing.
"You wanted to meet me?" Kuroko asked her fear turning into curiosity.
"Yes.." As the figure walked closer and closer Kuroko got a better view of the person with piercing yellow eyes. Kuroko's eyes widened and her jaw dropped 'Wha-What the hell is this?!' "Of course without you. I wouldn't be here." She said tracing her index finger against the side of Kuroko's face then pulling off her hood revealing her face anf hair. At that moment Kuroko felt strangely light headed and felt her eye lids begin to close.
"Who are you-?" Kuroko whispered quietly before she collapsed onto the hard floor.
Now finally at the dorms Misaka ran up the staircase and made it towards their room door. 'i'm not sure what i'm going to say. But I know I have to apologize' Misaka thought as she grasped the handle and turned it.
"Kuroko Im ho-" Misaka's sentence was cut off when her eye's fell upon the empty tight side of the room. She ran into the room and slammed open the bathroom door, also showing no signs of the teleporter. She quickly whipped around and opened up Kuroko's closet what was now completely empty. All her clothes and books were gone. Everything was gone. Kuroko was gone.
Misaka backed up from the closet with a horrified expression and telling herself it wasn't true. This isn't real right? This is just a horrible nightmare right? The electromaster could feel her body begin to shake uncontrollably and tears began to pour out of her eye's.
"This can't be happening-" She whimpered. "She can't be gone."
