If you were to ask yourself "What in the hell is Saito thinking going back to the capital of Romalia alone?" you would be like every person and think the king has finally lost it. Saito however had a grin on his face as he landed about a kilometer from the capital city. Moving the glass panel, Saito grabbed Derflinger and moved the backseat to reveal a hidden cache.
"Partner, what are those?"
"Oh nothing, just my options of what I will be using in this little joyride."
Saito smirked and pulled out a small chest that was enchanted to let anything be put in it. Opening it, Saito pulled out different tools ranging from lockpicks to something that looked very foreign to Derflinger.
"What is that?"
"This is a handgun, probably the loudest thing to exist in this world right now. I will be bringing this along if things go really bad as it is almost a guaranteed kill, only problem is that there are only eight shots in it before having to reload it and I only have two extra clips."
Saito said and held the piece up. The model was a Colt M1911 with nighttime sights which glowed for the wielder to shot. Saito continued to go over his options which ended with lockpicks, a curved knife, the handgun and of course Derflinger. Putting the chest back in the plane, Saito pulled out a marker and slammed it on the ground.
"And what are you doing?"
"Placing a marker for the plane to use when I am not piloting it."
"Wait, what?"
"The plan. I am going to fly over the Pope's place, jump out and let the plane go into auto pilot, and go in to kill the guy. This thing will help it land safely without my help."
"Partner, you really have the best things in your home world."
"Actually, I made this. But enough talk, we have a show to create." Saito said and placed Derflinger on the side one his seat, jumped into the seat and began to move to the greatest show he will ever create.
The only source of light was the moon itself as Saito began to formulate a plan B if things go south. The captail city itself was coming into view as Saito remembered the last time he came here, still not on good terms. What was on his mind was the feeling that that he had been doing in the city, running from the guards to be more specific, felt familiar to something he used to play back in Japan. He gained altitude to avoid the looks of anyone by going into the clouds.
"Alright Derf, you ready?" Saito said as they were over the palace where the big cheese was staying.
"I hope I am not the only one who is having second thoughts." Derf said as Saito flipped the auto pilot switch on and turned his Zero upside down, unbuckled himself and moved the panel to let himself fall out, putting Derflinger on his back.
"Seriously, this is awesome Derf!" Saito shouted and positioned himself as if he was on a piece of furniture.
"Hmm…"
Henrietta was trying to perform a spell she had just recently learned that projected an image of the person and area of her choice. In the room were Imrahil and Agnes who were the only two people the Queen trusted with such importance that no one heard of this. With static shooting down her arm from her mace-like wand, an image appeared of Saito relaxing while he was falling to the ground.
"Ugh… All who thinks our King has finally lost it say I." Imrahil said as both woman responded. "okay, im glay I am not alone here."
"Partner… I hope this is part of your plan…" Derflinger began to worry about both beings but Saito remained not moving.
"Yup…" Saito said as they were closing closer to the ground until- "Now." Saito calmy said as he was floating inches from the ground. Derflinger was speechless of how his master could rely on his new abilities so much.
Henrietta had turned away from the monitor to go sit in a chair. What she saw was Imrahil's jaw nearly dropped and Agnes believing she was seeing things. Henrietta turned to see her husband who, from what she understood had little to no magical abilities, floating from the ground as if he was a master of wind magic.
"Imrahil…"
"Hey, I am innocent here."
Imrahil said as everyone turned back to the screen and the Queen finally took a seat.
"So… you going to touch down are you going to go to sleep?" Deflinger said as Saito decided to touch the ground and hide in the shadow of the outside walls.
"So, you heard that the forward base of the rebels held the King of Tristain?" A guard in complete steel armor said to another who was passing one another.
"No, although it does not surprise me what-so-ever." The other said as they branched apart.
Saito took his knife out and extended its reach with wind magic and sliced the head of the passing ground off. The thud caused the other guard to come running by as Saito chopped his as well with the extended knife. He retracted the wind blade to its normal length and began running in the shadows to the interior of the building.
Saito reached the inner ring that separated the building from the outside city as he jumped in a bush. Around the place were about twenty guards, packing lances, swords, everything a little company of guards would wield. As one guard walked past the bush, Saito pulled him in and slit his throat and covered his mouth. Saito then hoped to the top of the wall and leaped to a window where he opened it and closed it without anyone noticing. The Gandalfr saw that the room was empty; the area silent as if no one has been in the room for years. Saito noticed a shimmer on a table and walked to it. The glimmer came from a couple of blades, one of which was a blade that Saito noticed immediately.
"A katana…?"
Saito said looking at the sheath of the weapon which he could distinguish due to the curve on the cover. The sheath was a midnight black with yellow trimmings on the end of it, the butt having a metallic end which was also yellow. Slowly pulling the blade out to prevent and sound, he examined it and saw the line that was a trademark for this weapon. The blade was pure white and the handgrip and a dirt brown with the guard black. On the blade, the words 'Moon's Pride' were written in Japanese.
"This looks like it hasn't been used in decades… but how did it-"
"Search the area; we have two decapitated bodies outside."
Someone outside the room said as a rumble of footsteps responded as Saito sheathed the blade and strapped it on his waist on the right side.
"A little reminder of home never hurts… Now to find the big guy." Saito walked up to the door and found it was locked from the outside. "Good thing I have those lock-" A shot was fired at the door he was at which gave light into the room, even if very little.
Saito flipped backwards and the door before him slammed open, revealing a squad of flintlock riflemen. The king grunted and dashed the five men.
"Intru-" Saito slashed the head of the one who shouted out loud and took out the other four, each giving a little piece of the message out to everyone in the place.
"Well, so much for stealth." Saito smiled, hoping this would happen and pulled out Derflinger and shot out of the room. "Which way Derf?" Derflinger gave his partner the directions to the void mage of the area as Saito went in that direction.
"Flintlock rifles." Agnes said, getting the attention of the other two occupants. "Those are some of the most advanced weapons I have seen ever. His Holiness has not been telling us the extent of his military advancements."
"Saito did not seemed fazed by this it seems, perhaps he has seen better types of weapons in his home world." Imrahil said as both captains looked at the monarch who was glued to the screen with her husband on it. Imrahil and Agnes glanced at each other and back at the screen where Saito was running.
"Perhaps it would have been better to have a squad of special forces with him in the assault."
"That would only slow him down and would cause his to get caught faster.
"He got caught in the first minute alone Captain Imrahil, at least our men would have done better."
"Our King is not the best when it comes to stealth but he sure makes up for it in firepower and combat efficiency." Imrhail said as the trio looked and saw Saito was slowing down.
(Play Marvel vs Capcom 3 - Theme of Chris Redfield for your amusement, which is what I was playing during this.)
"The door at the end partner." Derflinger said as Saito shot a gust of wind from his open hand and the door went flying off it hinges, revealing the Pope sitting in a fancy chair while acting casually.
Saito slid to the front door and slowly walked inside. Inside was the void mage himself and his familiar Julio who Saito believed would be more trouble than the master himself.
"I must say, breaking into the home of a ruler of a country will surely lead to diplo-"
"Save it, we both know why I am here." Saito yell and behind him at the door a pillar of fire erupted at his voice, causing both enemies to raise an eyebrow at seeing the king use magic.
"I see, you can use magic and powerful spells by the looks of it."
"Believe me, I didn't want it to come down to this Vittorio, stand down Julio and I won't hurt you." Saito said and gave a warning swing at the familiar. A chuckle came from the man which Saito took as a no.
"If only you accepted your role and helped me in destroying the rebels, we would not have a dead monarch on our hands." Vittorio said as the sun began to rise before him. "But alas, I must prepare my armies to invade your homeland, hopefully you enjoy the army that will now destroy you."
And at that, the Pope pulled a switch next to his seat and both men feel through and hole. Saito dove at them but it closed up and was not breaking open at the strikes that he was making with Derflinger. Suddenly, water came out of the flame wall and nearly struck Saito.
"Okay, Plan A has failed, time for Plan B!"
Saito said and reached for his pistol and shot the first person to come out of the doorway, He than received a bolt of lightning that hit his handgun, causing the barrel to explode in the wielder's hands. Saito dropped it and threw himself out the nearest window. Saito began to fall as he was trying to think of another plan. He slammed to the ground and was surrounded by hundreds of royal guards.
"Alright, Plan A failed and Plan B just blow up in my face; time for Plan C!"
Saito smiled and pulled his newest toy from its sheath and switched sword's around so Derflinger was in his left hand and the katana in the right hand.
"Alright, who wants to die first?" Saito said as every guard charged the monarch. "I guess everyone!"
"Saito was right after all…"
Imrahil said out loud, any doubt he had in his king has disappeared from the words of the Pope himself. Agnes was the only person who knew nothing about this problem between countries. Henrietta sat there with eyes on the screen the entire time but finally rose to her feet. Just as soon as she did, a guard came to the running to the door.
"Y-Your Majesy, we have a-"
A small explosion appeared from where the guard was standing and went flying to the wall and unconscious. Everyone looked at the door and saw that indeed the pink void mage arrived as Saito told her. On the screen, Saito said something to his sword.
"I swear if Louise didn't UP-" Saito chopped downward with his katana, turned around and did a diagoinal slash at the next guard in his path to the city itself. "I am going to be extremely PISSED!" Saito rolled over the back of another guard, tripped him, and stabbed Derlfinger in the back while on the ground. "Seriously, give up!"
"It seems our king here is having fun with the Romalia Royal Guard." Louise said and pulled out a map of the world and placed it on the table. "Whoever is in charge of the navy I suggest they prepare it for invasion, I say hundreds of capital ships when I leaving my fortress. You have twenty minutes."
"Imrahil."
"Yes your majesty?"
"You are to lead our navy until Saito returns to decide who should lead it. Use them wisely since we only have ten ships in our capital compared to what Louise said."
"Yes ma'am!" Imrahil saluted his Queen and ran out of the room to sound the alarm for the navy and armed forces.
"Agnes, find Guiche and make sure that the children are safe at all cost."
"Very well your majesty." Agnes bowed to her Queen and ran out as well to find the heir and her friend. This left two combustible women with a map and Saito who was busy dealing with things half a continent away.
"We can talk later, for now we need to prepare for invasion. "Louise began as the Queen nodded and Louise pointed on the map and began to talk.
"Partner, do you see that fire too?"
The two souls have battled their way to the city square where they stood in the center with thousands of guards. Saito tilted his head and saw indeed there was smoke coming ironically in the direction where the beacon.
"Oh come on, what's next?" Saito said as the guards started to slowly close in. "I guess it can't be helped then."
He gripped his left hand and the runes on it began to glow. Using his powers, he dashed into the mob of armor and flesh and bodies began to fly up into the air. One man who was over seven feet was ahead of Saito as the king slashed at the man, turned and stabbed him in the gut to bring the giant down. Side stepping past the falling body Saito ran forward onto the very familiar bridge but this time he had no intention of being silent. He ran to the center of the bridge and like before he was trapped in the center but he had a grin.
"Same tactic again, I would expect better from an army."
Saito said and with a crater below him, shot himself up into the sky to overlook the city. He identified that indeed the Zero was destroyed and nothing remained but a pile of flame metal. Furious at seeing a piece of his past destroyed, Saito sheathed the katana he found and began forming a fireball in his hand with a little surprise in the center.
"This is for destroying my plane!"
Saito said and threw it at the guards on the bridge. The magical spell hit the bridge but an explosion came out instead of the fiery wave of death. This caused every guard nearby to be evaporated on contact and the bridge did not remain. Saito sheathed Derflinger and began zoomed through the air to his kingdom to help in its defense.
Author's Notes – And now we finally get to the point we have all been waiting for. To say it will be interesting I think will be an understatement with the plans I have.
