Hours later Karolina found herself in the middle of the dance floor, her body entwined with Xavin's as they swayed to the music that blasted from the speakers all around the room. The club had been packed when they'd arrived, more so than Karolina had ever seen it. Hundreds of people had been packed onto the dance floor and the slick beats of Taio Cruz, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and others had turned them into a roiling sea of humanity. But the crowd had slowly begun to thin, much to Karolina's relief, as fewer people meant she was less likely to be gawked at for assuming her true Majesdanian form, which she always preferred when she danced. Xavin seemed to prefer it as well, though she was too engrossed in dancing to voice her opinion.

The club they were at was called the Diamond Lounge and was one of the premier clubs in Los Angeles that catered to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender community. Karolina had been coming here for over a year, usually with Xavin, but occasionally with the other Runaways as well, usually Nico and Victor. She loved this club for two reasons. The first was the fact that it catered to the LGBT community. The second was it had no age restrictions, meaning she could enter even though she was still technically under age. In addition to all that, the Diamond Lounge was also well known for always playing good music, which Karolina found to be a refreshing change from some of the other clubs she'd visited.

It appeared Billy and Teddy appreciated the Diamond Lounge's taste in music as well, for they had yet to leave the dance floor. It made Karolina happy to see that they were having a good time. She had been unsure how they would react to the scene in LA, but so far they seemed to be enjoying it just fine, which Karolina found slightly surprising given that they were from New York. But she supposed there was always something new to be experienced, even for two guys from the most populous city in the country.

"Man, I love this place." Billy said then, as he and Teddy made their way over to where Karolina and Xavin were dancing. "It's so nice to hang out in place where we're not being judged."

"Don't you have clubs like this in New York?" Karolina asked.

"Yeah, but most of them have age restrictions and they don't take to kindly to super-beings." Billy replied. "I can't imagine why though."

He grinned and the others laughed at his joke. It was common knowledge that many regular people were not overly fond of super-beings anymore. It had been that way ever since the superhero civil war, but Karolina had always thought it was a rather narrow minded view to take. It seemed Billy, Teddy, and Xavin all agreed, though they were having too much fun to get into a discussion on the topic at the moment.

Fortunately, most of the anti-superhero bias was confined to the east coast, which left the few superheros in LA with the freedom to move around unhindered. It also meant the clubs were more inclusive, so Karolina could understand why Billy and Teddy were glad to be here.

"So, are there any other clubs like this out here?" Teddy asked, turning the conversation back to the topic at hand.

"There's a few." Karolina answered. "But this one is the best. Why do you ask?"

"Just curious." Teddy replied. "Maybe we could go hang out at some of the others some time. Just to do something different."

"Yeah, we could do that." Karolina said. "We could go now, if you want."

"Nah, let's stay here for tonight." Teddy said. "By the way, when does this place close?"

"It doesn't." Xavin said. "Karolina and I have spent entire nights here before. Which Nico doesn't appreciate for some reason, now that I think about it."

"Gee, I wonder why." Billy muttered. "Could it have something to do with the two of you not letting her know where you are? Cuz I know that drives Kate and Cassie nuts when Teddy and I do it to them."

"That could be it, now that you mention it." Xavin conceded, nodding thoughtfully.

"I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say it probably is." Karolina said. "We are really bad about remembering to do that."

"Yeah, well, when you're in the moment it can be quite hard to remember important things like that." Billy said, grinning. "Ted and I know that from experience, don't we?"

"We're not really gonna tell them about that, are we?" Teddy asked, a look of sudden embarrassment passing across his features.

"No, but they may find out anyway." Billy said, grinning again.

"What are you two talking about?" Karolina asked. "What happened?"

"It's nothing." Billy said, still grinning. "I swear." And before Karolina could ask him any more questions he took Teddy by the arm and led him away, stopping to give Karolina and Xavin one last teasing grin.

"What do you suppose that was all about, my love?" Xavin asked, confused, once Billy and Teddy had disappeared into the crowd.

"Who knows." Karolina said, rolling her eyes. "I'm tired of dancing. Want to go into the back and make out for awhile?"

Xavin grinned, clearly liking the prospect, and before Karolina could change her mind they were off to the back of the club, swept up in the momentum of the moment.

An hour or so later, Karolina surfaced, her breath a gasp of pleasure. She lay on a couch in one of the back rooms of the Diamond Lounge, Xavin's legs wrapped around her waist. They had been making sweet love for over an hour, completely oblivious to what was going on out on the dance floor. The lovemaking had been some of the best Karolina had ever experienced and she did not want it to stop, but she needed a moment to catch her breath.

"Oh God." she gasped. "That was fucking great. I've never been more satisfied in all my life. Thank you."

"You are most certainly welcome, my love." Xavin said, grinning. "I believe I am beginning to rather enjoy this human notion of sex for pleasure."

"That's good, because we're not done." Karolina said. "Not by a long shot."

With that she pulled the Skrull close again, her lips seeking out Xavin's like a starving animal. Their mouths met a second later and Karolina felt Xavin's tongue enter her mouth, drawing a moan of pleasure from deep within her. And then all else ceased to be as the pleasure took them both away from the world.

At that same moment, in a different room, Billy and Teddy lay side by side, both of them breathing as though they'd just run a marathon. Billy's jacket was lying on the floor beside them, as was his shirt, Teddy's sweater, and both boy's pants. Billy was intensely aware that they were in public, but found that he didn't really care. All that mattered was the fact that he was with Teddy and that they were in a place where they wouldn't be judged for being who they were.

"That...that was...fucking great." Teddy said, his voice a gasp as he fought to catch his breath. "We need to do this more often."

"I told you a date with Karolina and Xavin would be the spark for us to try new things." Billy said, glad that Teddy was satisfied.

"I never doubted it would be." Teddy said, his hand reaching out for Billy's.

Billy took it and smiled, a sense of calm settling over him. Teddy's touch sent shivers down his spine and seconds later he rolled over so that he covered Teddy's body with his own. He felt Teddy exhale a sigh of pleasure and then they were at it again, completely forgetting about the fact that they were both tired. Absently, Billy wondered how Karolina and Xavin were doing, before surrendering to moment, all other thoughts fading into nothing.

Back in their room, Karolina and Xavin were still engrossed in their second session of the night, both of them blissfully unaware of anything but each other. And yet, as Xavin moved to stroke Karolina's breasts she heard a scream that momentarily broke her concentration.

"What was that?" she asked, glancing at Karolina in sudden concern.

"What was what?" Karolina asked, before she too heard the screams. "Was that a scream?"

"It certainly sounded like one." Xavin said, nodding.

"And it sounded like it came from the dance floor." Karolina said, sitting up.

"Perhaps we should investigate." Xavin suggested, moving to pull her blouse back on.

Another scream rent the silence before Karolina could answer and she nodded, gathering up her clothes as she moved towards the exit. Seconds later the stepped out into the hall, where they were greeted by Billy and Teddy.

"Did you guys hear the screams?" Billy asked, pulling his jacket back on as he spoke.

"Yeah. We were just going to check it out." Karolina answered, pointedly ignoring the fact that Billy and Teddy looked like they'd just been making out.

Billy nodded and the four of them made their way to the main room of the club, all of them on alert for any sign of trouble. The sight that greeted them was not what they'd expected however. The club was completely deserted, save for four shadowed figures that stood in the middle of the dance floor, radiating power.

"Well shit." Teddy muttered. "Talk about your datus inturuptus. I'm guessing this would be the bad feeling you sensed earlier Billy?" He glanced at Billy, who just shrugged.

"Well, whatever it is, let's get rid of it." Karolina said. "It's interrupting our damn date and I'm not ready to call it a night."

The other three nodded and together they moved to confront the strangers, though Billy had a feeling they weren't going to be successful.

A/N: And that's chapter 2. Sorry for the massive delay. I was a bit distracted by some of my other ideas. Well that, and I was suffering from that horrible plague called writers block. Anyway, I finally figured out what I wanted to do with this chapter, so here it is. There's not really much else to say, other than who are these mysterious figures that have interrupted a perfectly good double date? Well, you'll just have to keep reading to find out and you may be surprised by the revelation. Oh, also, the Diamond Lounge is a fictional club, as far as I know. Finally, sorry of the sex scenes were a little awkward. As I said in my previous author's note, I'm not gay so I probably won't be very good at writing that stuff. Anyway, that's all for now. Hope you enjoyed. Cheers, KT.
