"So, I have got one more present to give you," I told Edward excitedly.
It was his birthday today and I was determined to make his birthday extra special by revealing the big secret. Edward wasn't big on fuss so we had spent the day celebrating with the rest of the family at our house, but I had been waiting until they had gone home before I shared my news.
"Bella, you really didn't have to get me anything else. You got me enough already," Edward said disapprovingly. He was one to talk; he was forever spoiling me with presents and surprises.
"Technically I didn't spend anything, and besides I wanted to save this gift for when we were alone." I admitted.
"Really?" Edward smirked, obviously misreading my reasoning. He had that look again; the one that he got when he was either horny or drunk, or both!
I leaned in to kiss him. It was meant to be a sweet, short peck but when Edward deepened the kiss I didn't stop him. Every kiss felt just as incredible as the first and though it was a struggle to pull away from him, I reluctantly did so. I couldn't wait to see his face when I told him the news.
"So when do I get to see this present then?" he smirked, as his hands started creeping under my shirt.
"It's not that kind of present," I laughed at his one track mind.
Edwards smirk dropped instantly but he tried to hide his disappointment. "Oh what is it then?" he asked, obviously confused.
"You are actually a lot closer than you think." I said shyly.
Edward looked lost for a moment and when I couldn't wait any longer I placed his hands on my now flat, though soon to be rounded stomach.
I saw the second recognition dawned in his eyes and I struggled to contain the tears building at the back of my eyes at his hopeful expression.
"We're having a baby?" he said a little breathlessly, almost as if he were afraid he'd somehow misunderstood me.
Overcome with emotion, I could only nod back as Edward reached out and pulled me towards him.
His lips found mine, once, twice, before we were a mass of hands and kisses, while whispering our love for one another.
Life doesn't get much better than this
