As I said before; I am going to be skipping the whole staying with the Volturi for the sake of the length of this story so it doesn't drag more than it has too. Sorry it took so long to update :(
June 21st 1996 (11-12 Months later)
Dear Bella,
Sirius is dead.
I wish I could put it a better way but I expect you'd rather hear it straight. Come back to Grimmauld place and we shall explain then.
R. Lupin
Dead. That was the one word that stuck out more than most. Sirius was dead. It was official, the only relative that I could trust was gone. Whirling round I grabbed the nearest thing and hurled it at the wall, the satisfying smash that the vase made did nothing to soothe the pain.
With a sweeping motion of my wand my bag was packed including the now complete Volturi profile, slipping the bag onto my back I stalked towards the meeting hall.
Shoving the door open letter clenched in one fist and wand in the other, my angry stride faltered as I took in the people in the room, Aro, Caius, Marcus, Demetri, Alice, Yaxley, Fenrir Greyback, Bellatrix Lestrange and Lord Voldemort.
A delighted giggle erupted from Bellatrix's thin lips, "Well, well the topic of our conversation."
The shock that must have been so clearly written on my face smoothed into an impassive mask and I buried all other emotions in favour of the woman in front of me, "Bellatrix," I greeted, "Didn't your Mother ever tell you it's rude to talk about a person behind their back?"
"Ah but you see if I was talking about you behind your back you wouldn't be aware now, would you?" She waved admonishing finger, hysterical grin plastered to her face. Voldemort seemed content to let me and Bellatrix continue for the time being studying me instead.
"Touché." I murmured, tucking the letter into my pocket, I let my wand dangle loosely at my side, "However you have been talking about me no doubt, and if I am quite honest I would rather like to know what had been said. Care to allow me privy to this information?"
"Certainly. Me and Greyback had a most delightful discussion about ways to torture you, didn't we?" The witch turned to the Werewolf beside her and he grunted.
"Did you now? And I right in assuming it involves knives, cursing, some blood and a fair amount of screaming on my part?"
"Ooh. You're a smart one, I like you. I'm sure me and you could have much fun."
"Is that so?" I questioned raising an eyebrow, knowing that my definition of fun and Bellatrix's were quite different.
"Oh yes." Her grin was predatory and on her gaunt face it looked quite terrifying.
"Sorry to say I am not on your side, Bella." I cooed childishly.
"Pity." She pouted back. "You should join us."
"I'm afraid I am going to have to decline that offer." I replied sweetly.
"Really?" Bellatrix almost seemed disappointed. "Are you quite certain?"
"I'm sure."
"Enough Bella." Voldemort's voiced muttered quietly when Bellatrix looked like she wanted to answer. She bowed her complacently and I raised an eyebrow.
The silence stretched before he hissed "Get her."
Ducking a curse from Bellatrix, I engaged Yaxley and Greyback in a duel, weaving amongst the curses and spells I couldn't deflect I began making my way back towards the door.
My plan was put on hold when I had to duck an attack from Alice, whirling round I began running, hearing a crash I glanced back to see Alice and Greyback in a heap and Demetri barely moving out of the way from a curse from Bellatrix. More Vampires began pouring in and I had to rely on Demetri and, thank god, Marcus who had joined my side in this unfair fight.
Climbing onto Demeteri's back I blasted Yaxley into the wall, Marcus threw Caius back when he got to close only to be overpowered by 4 more Volturi Guard. "GO!" He shouted at us as he tried to remove himself from their grip, they were too strong and were dragging him toward Aro.
"Marcus!" I shrieked.
"NOW, BELLA!"
Casting a last glance at Marcus I squeezed my eyes shut, but not before seeing his arms and head be removed from his body.
We landed with a 'pop' amongst the trees in front of Grimmauld place, it was about 6pm and raining, typical. I slipped off of Demetri's back, "Bella?"
I didn't answer I was too numb; Sirius, dead. Marcus, dead. Who was next? Charlie? I gasped, Charlie!
I hurled myself from between the trees and in front of the houses, 12 Grimmauld Place appearing before me, throwing open the door I ran inside and skidded into the kitchen. All conversation stopped from around the table where people were eating, Charlie stood and I wrapped my arms around his neck, holding so tight I was probably choking him, strong arms settled around my waist and I screwed my eyes shut willing myself not to cry.
Pulling back slightly I smashed my lips against his, he responded with equal passion and when the kiss came to a natural end I let my forehead rest against his. I found myself being pulled from his arms and being crushed by the stout form of Mrs Weasley.
"I'm so sorry dear." She murmured quietly.
I steeled my emotions, quickly locking them away with years of practice. I nodded and gave her a weak smile. I allowed them to finish dinner and for the younger people to leave the room before Remus explained to me what happened.
I didn't react throughout the whole story, merely keeping my fists clenched and my mouth shut; however by the end I was seething. Slamming my hand against the worn table I growled out, "That boy is dangerous."
"He's a child Bella." Arthur murmured.
"Exactly. He is a child and he isn't looking at consequences of his actions. He rushes head on into situations without thinking, he's incapable of thinking."
"Bella."
"No, Arthur."
"Isabelle that boy just lost his Godfather!"
"That boy didn't know Sirius! What a few months and a couple of conversations are enough for him to know everything about him? That man was my uncle and the boy's actions have resulted in his unnecessary death."
"The fate of the entire magical world balances on his shoulders Bella and he has no family to support him."
"Well I'm sorry to say that I have no sympathy. People die in wars Arthur, people are abandoned, children orphaned and others left with nothing; it is high time that you realised there will be more casualties before you end up becoming one of them." I whirled round and stormed out of the kitchen passing a stricken looking Hermione, who had apparently heard the entire conversation.
Pulling a glass from the cupboard I poured myself a glass of whiskey and settled onto the sofa beside Demetri. "Are they even aware that you are here yet?"
"No," he answered shortly, "and I think we should keep it that way hey?" I nodded following him to a back hall way.
I hugged Demetri burying my face in the Vampires shoulder, "Be careful." I murmured, kissing his cheek.
"You to Bella." He replied, before he was taking off out of the door. I walked back into the living room to see Charlie, with a sigh I dropped into his lap.
"Did you really mean what you said in the kitchen?"
"Which part?" I asked tiredly, resting my head against his.
"When you said that you have no sympathy for Harry?"
"Yes I did. I truly don't have any for the boy; yes his parents were killed, painlessly I might add. So what my entire family were either killed, put in Azkaban or are on the Dark Side. As I said to your father, there are casualties in war."
"Hmm." I didn't reply to his short answer merely allowed him to kiss my shoulder and rub my back whilst I cried silently.
I apologise for this being so short.
