Rachel's POV:

The next day, I walked to school cringing a bit about the lie. Will Finn like Sam instead of me? Too many thoughts were filling up, I had to concentrate. When I walked in the hallway, I felt like everybody was looking at me. I tried to shake the thought off and headed to glee club.

I saw Santana and Dani talking to each other and giggling, I smiled. Dani was the new girl two weeks ago, she seems really nice and really talented. Kurt and Blaine were talking too. I imagined Finn and me giggling and laughing, I can only dream. I took a seat next to Finn. He smiled at me, why is he so cute?

"How are you doing", Finn asked. I blushed, "I'm great". I grabbed a piece of my hair and started twirling it. "So, you wanna go to Lea's Café after school?", oh no, what did I just say? Stupid! Stupid! So I just nervously waited for an answer.

"Yeah, that sounds good", oh gosh, did he really say yes? "Okay", I answered. I felt excited, but then I suddenly froze. What would we talk about? What would we do? I hate being so impulsive when I'm nervous.

When lunch time came, I ordered a chicken sandwich and a Pepsi. I picked a seat outside, nobody was with me. I sighed, I hate being alone.

"Excuse me", a voice said behind me. He had brown hair and blue eyes. "Is it okay if I sit here?", he asked. I paused, "Yeah, sure". He sat next to me, I felt myself blush. Wait, I like Finn, but this guy is cute too.

"What's your name?", I asked. I took a sip of my Pepsi. "My name is Brandon", he smiled.

His teeth were white. He was really muscular, I couldn't help but stare and bite my lip. I started twirling my hair, "Nice name".

Someone pulled me from behind. "I need to talk to her", someone said. The person stopped me, it was Sam.

"What do you think you're doing?", she placed her hands on her hips.

"I'm talking to a guy", I said innocently.

She raised her eyebrows, "Talking to a guy while twirling your hair and licking your lips? Rachel, what about Finn?".

"I know! I know! It's just, I lied to Finn".

She gasped, "What do you mean you lied to him?".

I tried to remember what happened.

"Well, I found out that Finn and I used to be best friends back in Elementary School and I asked him if he remembers a girl from his school and I told him that it was you".

"What?!", Sam shouted.

"I panicked!"

Sam calmed down, "Rach, why can't you just tell him how you feel?"

"I just get so nervous around him, I'm scared it might ruin our friendship"

After what happened at lunch, I met up with Finn.

"Hey!"

"Hey Rachel!"

"Let's go", it felt nice outside, I was wearing heeled boots with a skirt and a cute top. The café is not too far from school. After five minutes of talking and laughing we finally arrived. I approached the lady in the front.

"One cappuccino please"

I suddenly heard Finn's voice, "And one vanilla latte please"

The lady smiled, did she think we were a couple? "3.66 is your total", she said. I handed over the money.

The lady smiled, "Your drinks will be ready in a minute".

We took a seat and started talking. The lady served us out drinks. Finn looked at me, "I've never really heard you sing before, can you sing right now?". I felt myself tense up.

"Okay", I said nervously. I started singing, "Come out of the shadow step into the light, this could be the moment, are you ready to fight?, don't you know, you know, you're not the only one, why so low, so low, what are you waiting for, all I ever hear are whispers, all I ever hear are whispers". I started to cringe.

"Wow", Finn said, "You're amazing". I blushed, "Thanks".

"What song was that?", he asked

"It's a song I wrote"

"I didn't know you wrote songs", he seems to be so shocked of me.

He is so adorable, "Yeah, I wrote my own songs since I was twelve". I took a sip of my coffee.

"Well, you're so talented, did you think of auditioning for the winter musical?".

"No, I never heard of a musical", I replied feeling confused. "What's it about?".

"It's about a girl who has a secret talent for singing". Well it sounded interesting, I wasn't sure if I wanted to go for it.

I bit my lip, "I'll think about it Finn". I sighed, what am I getting myself into?
