Heya readers!

Yep, that's right! I finally got round to writing a new chapter for Ninja Turtles in Mortal Kombat! I'm sorry this fic has been on hiatus for a while, but I was really stuck for what to write next and of course plot bunnies for my other projects began attacking me! lol!

Last place we left off, The turtles, Splinter, Raiden and Mona confronted the Edenian Army to which Kitana learned of the Turtles origin and their purpose to protect Earthrealm. Now the gang have set up camp in Outworld before the tournament, but it was reaveled at the end of the previous chapter that someone had been watching them!

Chapter Fourteen

Attack in the Woods

As the night passed, each turtle took a couple of hours watching the camp.

Raphael had taken his turn watching the tent and now that his shift was up, he decided to wake Mona so she could take her turn.

Crawling into the tent he gently shook his mate awake.

Mona had been sleeping peacefully and Raphael seeing her laying there thought she looked very beautiful but he knew he had to wake he so she could take her turn in standing guard, after all they all agreed to take it in turns.

Raiden had vanished from the area so as to observe for any trouble around Outworld, Raphael was worried about his mate, but he knew she could take good care of herself.

As he shook her Mona opened her eyes and stretched.

"Raph?" she said sleepily.

"Sorry Mona." said Raphael guilty "It's your turn for keeping watch."

"Ok." said Mona as she picked up her fans "I'll wake Donnie when it's his turn."

"Please be careful Mona." Raphael begged placing his hands on the sides of his mate's face "If anything were to happen to you..."

"I'll be ok, Raph..." Mona soothed stroking his hands "You get some sleep, we need our energy for the tournament if we're to save Earthrealm."

Raphael nodded.

"Ok..." he said "But like I said...be careful..."

"I will..." Mona said sincerely as she kissed her lover passionately then nuzzled him before climbing out of the tent to assume her position as watcher.

She could hear Raphael curling up before he began to snore softly. Mona chuckled at how cute he looked then began to watch out front.

After nearly an hour of her watch had passed, Mona almost jumped out of her skin as she heard a noise not far away.

She quickly took out her fans and looked towards the area where the noise had come from. She wondered whether to wake the others, but she didn't want to cause an unnecessary panic.

Normally Mona would brush off a noise like this to be just the wind, but she couldn't feel any wind and as Raiden said, there were many dangers in Outworld so she had to be careful.

Standing up and checking the tent behind her, Mona walked over to the the dead trees where she heard the noise and gripped her folded fans tightly.

The whole area was quiet, Mona bit her lip, looking around she tried to listen carefully to any small sound.

Master Splinter had taught her all these techniques about listening carefully all around her and be prepared for anything.

"Whoever you are..." Mona whispered softly, "Come out and fight..."

She waited, holding her breath, she then heard what sounded like a hissing sound behind her! She reached for a shruiken star in her belt and quickly turned around throwing the star in the process.

She then watched in horror as she saw the star stop in thin air followed by a hissing cry of pain.

Then appearing from nowhere she saw what looked like a green scaly humanoid with a metal mask over his face, spiked vambraces on his arms and poisonous yellow eyes.

Mona's heart leapt to her throat as she saw the creatures features, the reptilian features didn't lie to her.

"Reptile..." she growled holding up her folded fans.

Reptile hissed at her and got into a fighting position. Mona waited for a few seconds as she stood ready for combat.

She knew Reptile could be unpredictable with his attacks, but this wasn't the game, she was facing the real thing so she had to be very careful.

Reptile hissed again then began to move around her, Mona wondered why he wasn't attacking her, but the look in his poisonous yellow eyes gave the impression that he was doing something other than analysing how to take her down.

The way they moved up and down, Mona could tell they were following her body.

Reptile then looked at her face still in a fighting position, his eyes now showed something Mona had seen over three years back when those Purple Dragons attacked her.

"Shit...!" she thought as fear pooled her stomach "No..." she realised that Reptile was hungry for her, and not just to fight her, but lusting for her flesh.

Mona growled as she tried to show she wasn't giving into him, not without a fight.

Reptile could tell she was playing hard to get, and his eyes narrowed as he accepted the challenge, the look in his eyes still had that lustful look but also determination that he was going to get his clawed hands on her, whether she liked it or not.

Without warning, Reptile raced forwards towards Mona but she quickly moved and opened her fans as she did so slashing his skin as he ran past making him hiss in pain.

At once, green blood spilled from his wounds, but Reptile wasn't giving up easily, he turned and began to slash his claws at her but Mona folded her fans and used them to defend and deflect his attacks.

Reptile continued to hiss and slash at her then slid across the ground sending her flying into the air. He then punched her trying to knock her out, Mona coughed in shock but she quickly recovered and spun her fans on her fingers trying to distract him before she could attack.

But Reptile seemed to see what she was trying to do and again continued to attack her with punches and kicks.

Mona still managed to stand her ground as she defended herself from his attacks with her folded fans, but as she watched him intently, she saw him not just try and bring her down, but also flirt with her as he made his movements more graceful and his eyes flashed as that hunger still shone in them.

Mona opened her fans again and slashed the air as she tried to bring him down, but Reptile avoided her attacks.

As he avoided a stabbing move from her folded fan, Reptile took off his metal mask and Mona recoiled at his wide mouth that was lined with razor sharp teeth and he drooled green saliva which she knew was acidic.

Reptile then opened his mouth and Mona thinking quickly ducked as he spat acid at her which avoided her and hit a tree nearby.

Mona gulped as she saw the acid melt the bark on the dead tree and as Reptile was distracted she delivered a kick to his feet knocking him down.

She then did a flip backwards and stood up hoping to end Reptile down with her fan as she held it above her head but Reptile jumped up and fired a ball of green acid at her.

Mona quickly moved but as she did she got close to Reptile who tried to grab her.

She realised that the ball was made to catch her off guard so the hideous Outworldern creature could grab her.

He succeeded in grabbing her arm then tried to pull her close to him but Mona used her hand as well as the hilt of her fan to karate chop his hand causing him to let go, then kicked him in the face.

Reptile hissed and roared in anger then turned to fight her again, but as he did, both him and Mona heard noises from the trees behind Mona.

Reptile narrowed his eyes at Mona as if to say 'This isn't over' and raced off into the darkness of the woods as Mona tried to get her breath back and process what Reptile was trying to do to her.

"Mona!" she turned and saw Raphael and Leonardo running over to her, both with their weapons drawn and looking worried.

"What the shell happened?" asked Raphael noticing the bruises on Mona's body and her hair in a mess.

Mona looked at them then wondered if she should tell them about what happened. But she didn't want them to worry or get even more protective than they already were.

It was worrying enough their world was in danger of being taken over by Shao Khan, but knowing that Mona had faced off a nasty humanoid reptilian Outworld creature that had intentions for her would be even more distressing and she didn't want to distract their minds from the task at hand to save their world.

"Some Outworld monsters tried to get near the camp." said Mona softly "But I managed to fend them off, got a little cut and bruised in the process."

Raphael walked over and hugged his mate protectively.

"Well done Mona." said Leonardo "But if there are more of these creatures, we'll need to be alert."

"Ill be fine for the rest of the watch Leo." said Mona, she appreciated that Leonardo was putting her safety first, but she knew they all had to be alert for the tournaments coming up "Please...don't worry yourself..."

Leonardo nodded at his adopted sister then lead both her and Raphael back to the camp.

Meanwhile Reptile watched from a safe distance, he snarled as he watched Mona hug Raphael and his eyes narrowed in determination.

That lizard girl, whoever she was, she was perfect. A reptilian creature like him and she was the most beautiful thing he had seen in all his years in Outworld...he had to have her!

Hissing again in lust and determination he licked his lips and skulked away into the darkness.

So the eyes belonged to Reptile! And he wants Monalisa! What will be the Outcome when they meet again?
