Back to the Future

Chris' Flashbacks-

Year 2020:

Chris and Prudence were watching a movie in the living room. Chris was sixteen, Prudence was eighteen.

"It's moments like this where it seems like everything is all good." Prudence said. Soon after the statement they heard a thump from the attic. They looked at each other.

"Aunt Mel isn't here, no one is. We're the only ones." Chris said then they orbed upstairs to the attic.

There was a male about Chris' height with long blond hair, wearing all black. Prudence tried to use her power to throw him across the room but it didn't work. Then Chris tried to blow him up and that didn't work either.

"Impressive. Not the homecoming I was expecting though." The guy laughed.

"Who are you?" Prudence asked.

"Your twin. Have you forgotten me?"

"Wyatt?" Prudence questioned.

"In the flesh." Wyatt said.

"Oh my gosh. You're here, you're really here." Prudence said.

"Don't get too excited, De. According to the fact that the book is near the door, the book seems to think he's evil and it's never wrong." Chris said.

"You're smart little brother." Wyatt said.

"You don't have to do this, Wyatt. You can cross back over to our side. You can still be good." Prudence said and Wyatt laughed.

"Why be good when being bad is so much fun?"

"...It's too late. They've been working to make him this person most of his life. He's one of them." Chris said.

Prudence knew Chris was right, it saddened her. As she held back a tear, she fought through his force field, used her power to throw him across the room then walked over to him.

"Fine. Stay on the bad side. I don't know what they've told you but just know you've met your match, brother." Prudence banished Wyatt from the house.

A few weeks after, Prudence went into Chris' room.

"Hey!" Chris exclaimed then Prudence sat next to him.

"...Wyatt came to me. He wanted me to cross over to his side, work with him, rule with him. I said no of course and told him to leave. It's amazing. You don't remember him from when we were kids. He was so sweet and playful. We were inseparable. Why'd they have to take him?"

"You should tell Aunt Mel that he came to you."

"I will."

"And we should hide the Book of Shadows from him. Eventually, he'll figure out how to get it."

"I agree."

Year 2027

Chris was walking down the stairs to the first floor when he felt a pain in his heart and fell down the stairs. Melinda and Prudence ran over to him at the bottom of the stairs.

"Chris! What's wrong?" Older Melinda asked.

"It's Abigail. She's hurt." Chris said in pain. Abigail was his fiancé.

"I'll take you to her." Prudence said. "Aunt Mel, I'll keep you informed ." She orbed Chris to Abigail's apartment. Wyatt was there, Abigail was dying on the floor.

"How dare you?" Chris yelled then crawled over to her. "Abby! I'm here." He tried to heal her but Wyatt took her last breath before Chris had a chance to do so. "You evil bastard." Chris stood up then attempted to blow him up but Wyatt's force field protected him. Wyatt threw Chris a cross the room.

"How can you be so cold?" Prudence asked as she helped Chris up. They continued to hold hands, her force field now protected Chris as well. Wyatt knew by now that when both of them were protected by the force field they were stronger. When they weren't both protected, he could take Chris out first then go head to head with Prudence but otherwise they could actually do a little damage to him. So he laughed and orbed out though killing Abigail wasn't really a personal vendetta, she was just too much of a powerful source of good.

Chris went back over to Abigail and kneeled by her side.

"I'm so sorry, Abby. I love you so much. I'm going to stop him one way or another.

When Chris and Prudence went back to the manor they filled Melinda in on what happened. They spent the next few weeks trying to figure out how they were going to stop Wyatt. One day, an Angel of Destiny came to them.

"I'm Zamana. I know you've all been trying to figure out how to stop Wyatt and I have the solution for you. This world was not meant to be. We let events take their course but they did not fix themselves in time. Things got worst, evil became more and more in control and that's not the way things are supposed to go. The universe is supposed to gradually shift to good, gradually become a utopia but it all went wrong when Ares was released then Wyatt was taken. We must put things back in their natural order. Chris, you're the key. You must go back to when Ares was released, before you were born. You have to help The Charmed Ones stop him in that time, not later. You must stop the darklighters from killing off most of the elders and whitelighter and you must stop Wyatt from being kidnapped. It's a big task but you must do it."

"Ares tried to have all three of us killed, he only succeeded in killing Phoebe. That was also the day the darklighters made their first move on Leo but we saved him." Older Melinda said.

"That's the day Chris needs to go back to. You'll save Phoebe then send the sisters on the right track. When you accomplish what you're meant to accomplish other events will follow in the change but you must be careful not to get in the way of yourself being born. You can do it." Zamana said before she disappeared in a silver light.

"That's the plan." Chris said.

"You have to be careful not to reveal too much of the future." Older Melinda said.

"I know."

Melinda filled Chris in on facts about the past he may not know that would be important to him.

The next day, Chris and Prudence were in the attic with a couple of potion bottles. Chris took the potion so that Phoebe couldn't use her empathy power on him. Prudence put the other potion bottle to her mouth.

"I really wish you wouldn't drink that. It will drive you crazy to remember both realities. Why would you want to remember this anyway?" Chris asked.

"If you have to remember both realities, so will I. It's bad enough you have to go to the past on your own. When you come back, you won't have to deal with this on your own." Prudence drunk the potion. Melinda walked in a minute later.

"I guess it's time. We all love you. Be careful." Older Melinda said then the three hugged.

:End Flashbacks

Melinda was on a date with Jim. She took him to an island, Chris gave her the idea when he sent Piper and Leo to the deserted one. This was the first time Jim orbed with her.

"Melinda, I love you. You're beautiful, intelligent, unique, the list goes on, you're everything I could ever want. There is no one in the world I'd rather spend the rest of my life with. Melinda Samantha Gordon, will you marry me?" Jim asked and pulled out the ring.

"Yes!" Melinda exclaimed. Jim put the ring on her finger then she jumped in his arms. "I love you." They kissed.

Melinda was ecstatic to marry Jim but she thought about some things before she went to sleep and wanted to bring them to his attention so she did when they woke up in the morning.

"I want to marry you, Jim but there's some things we need to discuss. Can you spend the rest of your life dealing with my ghosts and all my magical this and that?"

"I know what I'm getting myself into. I'm fine with that." Jim smiled.

"No you don't, it can be dangerous."

"Well, your sister's kids are around it and they're fine." Jim said.

"My sister's kids have powers to protect themselves."

"They do?"

"And I live I'm San Francisco now. My sisters and I are safer living in the same house right now. This isn't a good time to move."

"Then I'll move to San Francisco with you. I'll even get a job out there so you don't have to orb me everywhere. I want to be with you, I don't care what I have to do. You're fighting for something bigger than all of us, you're fighting for good and I don't want to get in the way of that."

Melinda smiled. "You should meet my dad. We're starting to have a relationship and I'm sure he would love to meet the love of my life, my future husband. Piper's cooking a big dinner tonight. You should come. I'll invite my dad too. It'll be one big happy family occasion.

Melinda and Jim orbed to the manor later that day. Melinda went into the kitchen where Piper, Phoebe and Chris were.

"Guess what. Jim proposed." Melinda showed the ring and the sisters got excited. "Chris did you know this would happen?"

"Yep! Bet you're glad you were surprised. Uncle Jim is the best." Chris said.

"He's in the living room. My dad and Andrea are coming to dinner too so this is great." Melinda said.

"We're celebrating defeating the Triad, saving Wyatt, saving all of us really and Chris going back to his time in a couple days. We're celebrating with all our family." Piper said.

"Aww! Chris we're going to miss you!" Phoebe exclaimed then the sisters hugged him.

"Well, we'll see you again in about seven and a half months." Piper rubbed her stomach. "We get to see you grow into this wonderful man we see before us."

The doorbell rung.

"That's probably Daryl his family or dad. I'll get it." Phoebe said then left the kitchen.

"I'm going to go get Andrea. I'll be right back." Melinda orbed out.

"I'll take this to the dining room." Chris said, picked up the last dish and went to the dining room. Piper was on her way to the dining room when Leo orbed in front of her.

"Leo. What are you doing here?" Piper asked.

"When I became an elder, it was because they needed me but I thought about what Chris said. They're safe now. The world is in a better position than it was when I became an elder. They would be alright if I'm not an elder now. There are many elders and whitelighters and they needed me at one point but not so much now. My family needs me now. I clipped my wings. My kids only have one father and you have one husband if you'll still have me." Leo said.

"You clipped your wings. Wow. That changes a lot. Can you be happy with that?"

"My family makes me happy."

"Things are just getting better and better. I'm glad you're home." Piper kissed Leo. "You have perfect timing because we're having a family dinner and I have something to tell you but I'll save that for later. Right now, it's going to be interesting because my dad and Mel's dad are going to be in the same room for the first time since before mom's affair."

"Uh oh." Piper and Leo went into the dining room. Melinda was back with Andrea and Daryl, Sheila and Victor were there as well.

"Look who's back for good." Piper said.

"Yay! Leo!" Phoebe exclaimed in her baby voice then Phoebe and Melinda hugged him.

"Everything is as it should be." Chris said.

Then they heard the babies on the baby monitor.

"I'll get them." Leo said then walked upstairs.

"Leo, doesn't know that I'm pregnant yet. I'm going to tell him tonight so no one spill the beans." Piper said then Sam orbed in.

"Hello everyone. I hope I'm not late. I had to deal with a charge." Sam said.

"You!" Victor exclaimed.

"Victor." Sam said.

"You had an affair with my wife!" Victor exclaimed.

"Dad, it's been twenty-five years. It's time to let it go." Phoebe said as she hugged him. "Do it for Mel."

"For what it's worth, I'm sorry Victor."

"You two will work it out. You actually have a lot in common. Obviously, you fell for the same woman." Chris said.

"Nice touch Chris." Phoebe said.

"Well it's true. Halliwell's are irresistible." Chris said.

Leo came downstairs with the babies.

"Let's eat." Piper said. Everyone had a seat at the dining table. "I just want to thank everyone for joining us for this family dinner. We want to welcome our new family, Andrea, Sam, Mel's fiancé Jim and Chris even though he's leaving soon but I'm sure we will meet again in the future." Everyone knew what that meant except Leo. Piper couldn't wait to tell him. He had no clue.

"We have to do these dinners more often." Phoebe said.

The next morning, Piper ran to the bathroom and came out a few minutes later.

"Are you sick?" Leo asked.

"Not exactly. Remember I said I have something to tell you? I'm pregnant."

"... Is it Dan's?"

"Of course not! I didn't have sex with Dan. I broke up with him weeks ago."

"So we're having another baby." Leo smiled.

"Yeah. It's Chris."

"Huh?" Leo replied confused.

"Chris is our son."

"He's our son?"

"Explains a lot, doesn't it?"

"That's why he wanted us to get back together."

"We weren't supposed to break up and he almost wasn't born this time around."

"Chris is my son." Leo said with a smile. "Where is he?"

"He's been crashing on the couch since we took out the Triad. He should be downstairs."

Leo went downstairs and found Chris in the kitchen eating Honey Nut Cheerios.

"Hey Leo." Chris said.

"Piper told me, you're our son." Leo said.

"Surprise."

"I'm sorry, I didn't always believe you."

"I didn't really expect any of you to believe me. I had to tell a lot of lies. It's strange, I've been in this time for almost a year. I go back tomorrow. I don't know what I'm going back to. I'm a little nervous."

"Tomorrow? I didn't even get to spend as much time with you as your mom and aunts did."

"That's ok. I haven't been born yet." Chris laughed.

"I don't want you to go back to the future alone without knowing what you're going back to. I'm going back with you."

"Didn't you clip your wings?"

"Oh yeah. I forgot. I'm still getting used to that and not orbing. I'll figure something out."

"I really didn't get a chance to know you in the future I came from. The darklighters killed you when I was five but I hope I have the chance this time."

"You will. Things are different now."

"I don't even know how this is going to work, me going back to a different future and all. I guess I'll find out."

-v-

Leo made a deal with the elders to get his powers back just until he came back from the future. It was time. They said their goodbyes.

"Wyatt won't remember what he did before the change so don't hold it against him." Leo said.

"I know and Denny won't remember she visited me either since I'm returning to the moment I left but she'll remember everything else."

"Wait! When did DeDe visit you?" Piper asked.

"Remember that witch I introduced you to at P3?" Chris asked.

"That was her? Oh my gosh, I knew she looked familiar! That was my baby girl all grown up! No wonder she said, we'd meet again."

They opened the portal to the future then Chris and Leo walked through.

They arrived in the attic in 2027. Chris looked around to see if he noticed anything that was different. He immediately noticed that the Book of Shadows was now back in it's rightful place because originally it was moved so that Wyatt couldn't find it.

"The book is back in it's place. That's a good sign." Chris said. He looked out the window of the attic and everything looked one hundred percent better than it did before he left. It was bright, the street was in the best condition, people were normal, happy, not angry and at a war with each other every chance they got.

"I'm feeling optimistic." Chris said. Then time must have caught up with itself because the Chris of the new reality merged with the Chris that stood before Leo. Chris immediately got an extreme migraine.

"Chris!" Leo exclaimed then led him to the couch in the attic. "What's wrong?"

"My head! The memories of the new reality, they're all rushing to me at once." The migraine went on for a few minutes then slowly started to lighten. This is going to take some getting used to. I'm remembering two lifetimes and it's strange but I'm glad I know what happened now. You and mom are alive, all of you are. Everything we did, it worked... Denny!" Chris called and she appeared a few moments later.

"What's up?" Prudence asked then noticed Leo. "Dad? You're young... What have I missed in the last couple hours?"

"Do you remember the other reality? I went to the past to create this reality." Chris asked.

"Yeah... You're that Chris. Wow." Prudence said.

"And this is dad from the past but he wanted to make sure everything was fine so he came with me." Chris explained.

"Everything you did wasn't done in vein. This is a much better reality. It's interesting because I remember the other reality but it just seems like I remember someone else's life." Prudence said.

"It's the opposite for me. I remember everything from this reality now but this reality doesn't feel like mine, however, I will happily accept it. Anyway, I remember this life but it doesn't really feel like I've experienced it." Chris said.

"Well, little brother, are you ready to see the new world you helped create? What about you daddy, ready for a peak at the future?" Prudence asked.

"I probably shouldn't know what happens." Leo said.

"I get it, you don't want to mess around and change something when you get back to the past but don't worry. Things are as they should be, they won't change unless a great act of evil interferes. Just don't go spilling the beans about everything to everyone when you get back or you can just erase your memory. Come on!"

They headed downstairs to the living room.

"The world is beautiful, isn't it? Not all dark and dreary like in the other one." Prudence said.

"Chris! Chris!" A woman's voice called as she ran into the manor then found the three in the living room. "There you are! Why did you disappear like that?" She hugged him.

"Abigail!" Chris thought he'd never see her again and now here she was, hugging him. A tear fell. "It's so great to see you."

"What do you mean, we were just together?" Abby was confused.

"It's a long story. Dad this is my fiancé, Abby. This is my dad from the year 2004."

"Wyatt is the only one out of the three of us that hasn't found his one and only true love." Prudence said. A tall blonde haired man then came in whistling and snacking on a cookie as he walked in from the kitchen.

"Wyatt?" Chris questioned. What a difference in the look of evil Wyatt and good Wyatt.

"Hey!" Wyatt exclaimed happily then noticed Leo. "Dad from the past?"

"Yeah." Leo said amazed at the man his little Wyatt becomes and the woman his little DeDe becomes.

"Wow! What are you doing here?" Wyatt hugged Leo.

"Long story." Leo replied.

"Wy, you know mom made those cookies for tonight!" Prudence said.

"There's plenty!" Wyatt replied.

"A good chunk of the family is on their way over for family game night. This will be a hoot." Prudence said.

"Family Game Night?" Chris and Leo questioned.

"I have the memory that we do this, it's just... odd." Chris said.

"Yeah, we're totally almost normal." Prudence said. "That's what mom always wanted right, a normal life? I mean, we're Halliwell's so we can only be but so normal but we're a lot closer to normal with a twist."

The five sat around in the living room to talk.

"So what's going on with the demons of this time?" Leo asked.

"They're not much of a problem. We don't come across them too often but there wouldn't be a need for witches as powerful as we are, more powerful than the Charmed Ones or a deva like Abby if there wasn't a need for us." Prudence explained.

"You're a deva? Devas are one of the most powerful earthly beings sent here to protect the earth and all that's good. They don't usually fall in love with witches." Leo said.

"You and mom had no idea, the domino effect you two started." Wyatt said.

"We know we've been training for some epic battle that is to come. It's our destiny but mostly when we help people now it's usually not because we have to save them from a demon, thank God." Prudence said.

"Because the world is gradually becoming a utopia." Chris remembered what the Angel of Destiny, Zamana had told him.

"I think one day our magic won't be to fight demons, it'll be for beautiful things." Prudence said.

"All of this is good to know." Leo said.

They heard the front door open, a man and a woman were laughing together. Soon enough they saw it was Piper and Leo, twenty-three years older.

"It's the day of the return." Older Leo said. "Amazing seeing yourself in a fifty-one year old body, after being twenty-eight for over half a century. Wait until you actually get to be where I am and you've lived for almost a century and a half. I've acquired much wisdom. There's nothing better than this family we've created. I know it's been a rough year for you but trust me, after this point, you'll only get happier."

"Be sure to tell young me that when you return to 2004 or I'll just worry that something will go wrong again and I don't have to. Everything will be fine." Older Piper said then she and older Leo had a seat.

The rest of the family came in a few minutes later, all shocked to see young Leo. They explained he was from the past and had to basically do a security check for the future. Of course, the sisters, Victor and Sam understood why because they knew what happened. The young Halliwell's didn't know why but they took their word for it.

"Chris, I know you remember this life but it feels foreign to you like you didn't live it so let me reacquaint you with everyone you didn't know before."

Anyone who wasn't around in 2004 didn't really understand what was going on with Chris. They just knew he went through some things and his memory is just a bit foggy.

"So you know Uncle Jim and Aunt Melinda's oldest daughter Halli and their son Warren because they existed in the other world and we all lived together here in the manor. Now this is also Aunt Mel and Uncle Jim's youngest daughter Peace... This is aunt Phoebe's husband, Coop. He's a Cupid."

"Here's something you should know when you go back to your time, Leo. Coop and I are not a forbidden love. There will come a time you will need to tell me that." Phoebe said. Then Prudence continues to reacquaint Chris with the new relatives from this new reality.

"These are Aunt Phoebe and Uncle Coop's daughters, Patrice, Pandora and Parker."

"I was thankful that you saved me when you did but I had no idea what you were really giving me. You helped us create a better world but you gave me such a wonderful life and family." Phoebe said then hugged Chris.

"Believe it or not, there are a few family members missing." Prudence said. The family had grown so much. "Obviously, Uncle Darryl and the rest of his family isn't here yet. Hey, do you remember that I'm engaged to Darryl Jr?"

"Actually, I was a little foggy on that fact. Cool, shocking but cool!" Chris replied.

"Wow. If DJ is half as great a guy as Darryl, I definitely approve." Leo said. "I truly believe that Darryl was one of the best things that ever happened to our family. This family hasn't had a greater friend, one we can trust so full heartedly." Leo looked around at the future of his family. "The sight of this leaves me so at peace. The future is bright and beautiful and I am going to enjoy and cherish every minute of getting here. Even when things may seem down, I know that it will all be alright, it will all be worth it."

"Keep that mind, keep that in all of our minds because we do have some shocks coming our way once you get back to 2004." Older Phoebe said.

"The beauty that you see before you happens gradually. Everything is now in it's natural order. It's all apart of the grand design." Older Melinda said.

"In 2004, remember the Charmed Ones still haven't fulfilled their destiny yet." Older Piper said.

Leo soon exchanged his last words with Chris then headed back to his time and the sisters were waiting for him back in the attic.

"Everything worked out fine?" Piper asked.

"Everything works out wonderfully, don't worry about a thing." Leo said as hugged Piper then his borrowed power as a whitelighter left his body.

Season 7 starts in the next chapter. It's pretty different from the show's.

What do you all think of the spin I put on the season 6 finale?
