Emma's foot tapped against the floor, as she eyed Ruby carefully. "Something's not quite right." Emma's lips puckered as she tried to pinpoint what exactly was off about the woman in front of her.

Ruby's hair was pulled back into an elegant up-do, with tendrils of hair framing her face. It was the first time that Emma had ever seen her friend in high heels, and Emma had to admit that it disconcerted her at first. The white dress hugged Ruby's body in just the right way, framing her curves almost perfectly before billowing out at the end.

"Emma." Ruby's voice was hushed, as she eyed the watch on her wrist. "I'm going to be late to my own wedding!"

At the Ruby's words, Emma smiled brightly. Emma was truly happy for her friend, but she was even happier for Nikolai. She loved Nikolai as if he was her own brother … the thought caused her pause, as she twirled the gold band on her left hand. The smile on her face only growing larger. If it had been anywhere else, aside from Storybrooke … and it had been anyone else but the fairytale characters that she had grown up reading about, that had been there when she had announce her and Graham's engagement, they would have told the couple that they were ridiculous. It had only been a month after Regina and Cora attempted to rule the land of Storybrooke, when Graham had gotten down on one knee and proposed. The ring had been beautiful, and if it had been anyone else, Emma would have ran in the opposite direction. However, Emma loved Graham so deeply that she hadn't even hesitated. The yes popped from her mouth before she had even given his question an ounce of thought. That had been almost a year ago, and over that year, Nikolai and Ruby had grown increasingly closer, until he finally asked Ruby to be his wife.

"I wouldn't allow that!" Emma chastised her friend, as she attempted to pull herself up off the chair she had been sitting on. "God, I feel like a whale." Emma huffed, as she sprawled her fingers out over her protruding stomach.

"Did you get this big with Henry?"

Emma thought hard on the question, before smiling, "No, I don't think so. I've always heard that you get bigger with your second child though. Either way, I told Graham that he can't touch me with a ten foot pole for a very long time. I love that we're going to have this baby … I love that we're expanding our family, but for the love of all things sacred, I never want to feel this fat and bloated ever again."

Ruby chuckled, "Gee, why don't you make me more excited at the prospect of having children?"

Emma blushed, "Have you and Nikolai talked about children?"

Ruby nodded, "We both want a big family, but I'm a little scared. I wouldn't wish my issues on anyone … let alone my own children."

Emma frowned, before speaking, she placed her hands on either side of Ruby's shoulders. "Look, I'm not even going to pretend that I understand what you've been through or what you struggle with every single day, because I don't. What I do know, is that you are the kindest person I have ever met. You would be the perfect mother. Even if, God forbid, you pass this wolf thing onto one or more of your children, I know that you have what it takes to make sure that they are the best people that they can be. You can't deny yourself something like that, Ruby. It will tear you apart and make you miserable."

"I know that, I do, but sometimes I can't help but think that maybe it would be better if my parents hadn't had me, you know? I've hurt so many people, Emma..."

"Who hasn't hurt people, Ruby? Look at Gold for crying out loud! He was reunited with Belle, and he has hurt and killed more people than you could ever imagine. Did that stop him from finding his happiness? Did that stop him from finding someone that loved him inspite of everything that he's done?"

Ruby sighed softly, as Emma wrapped her arms around her. "You deserve this. Don't sell yourself short. Now, let me fix your hair just a bit and get you done that aisle before Nikolai comes hunting for us."

Ruby giggled at that. "Yes, Emma Humbert."

Emma grinned at Ruby's words, "You're gonna be a Humbert here soon, ya know."

"And I couldn't be happier about it."

Nikolai stood at the head of the aisle, with his three groomsmen standing behind him. Nikolai peered back, and smiled back at Graham, James, and Henry. He sighed softly, before he readjusted his tie. The black suit he was wearing hung loosely from his muscular frame.

"Nervous?" Graham asked, as he watched Nikolai readjust his cuff links for the fifth time. He honestly couldn't blame Nikolai for being nervous. Hell, Graham was nervous, both for his brother, but also for his wife. Both Ruby and Emma were over ten minutes late.

"How could you tell?" Nikolai answered without taking his eyes off the currently closed doors.

Graham sighed, as he shared a glance with Snow on the opposite side of the room. She had come down the aisle, and said that Emma and Ruby were right behind her. Snow gave a curt nod, before stepping off the platform and heading out the side door to find out what was going on.

"It'll be fine, Nikolai. I'm sure Emma is holding Ruby up. She's been having some stomach cramps lately, scared the hell out of me at first, but Whale said it was normal. They'll both be here any minute."

Graham spoke the words, not only to calm Nikolai's frazzled nerves, but to appease his own fears. It wasn't that he didn't believe Whale when he had told them that Emma's nightly cramps were normal, but more the fact that Emma had told Graham the night before how much trouble she had with Henry near the end of her pregnancy.

"Emma will be fine too, brother." Nikolai muttered suddenly, causing Graham to grin.

Graham could feel the anxious energy flowing off of James in thick clouds. Turning slightly, Graham sighed at the sheen of sweat that poured off of James' brow.

"You're more nervous than I am." Graham muttered, causing James to chuckle awkwardly.

"Of course I'm nervous. She's my daughter, and she's missing..."

Graham put a calming hand on James' shoulder, "Emma and Ruby are not missing. I'm sure Emma just had to pee or something."

"And I'm fairly certain that Emma will kill you when she finds out that you said that to her father." Nikolai said, before laughing.

Graham glared at the back of his brother's head, before sparing a glance at James. "If you're that worried, why don't you go check on them too."

James nodded, "Alright."

"Emma?" Ruby called out, while she watched her best friend double over in pain in front of her.

"It's nothing." Emma groaned out, as she attempted to pant her way through the searing pain.

"That is definitely not nothing." Ruby mumbled, before moving closer to Emma in an attempt to help. "Look, let's sit you down, alright?" Ruby offered, and sighed when Emma shook her head in descent. "Emma, you look like you might fall over."

"Sitting down hurts worse." Emma forced the words through her pursed lips. She wouldn't lie, the severe stomach cramps worried her, even though Dr. Whale had swore that they were normal. However, this time, the cramps were far worse, then it hit her. As she felt the warm, gooey liquid spill down the sides of her legs. She wasn't cramping, she was having contractions. Emma's wide eyes peered up at Ruby. Emma heard the door swing open but paid the new attendant no mind as she whispered. "I am so sorry." Ruby's eyes questioned Emma, prompting her to continue. "I'm pretty sure my water just broke."

The words were lost on Ruby who just continued to stare at Emma. However, Snow rushed forward, knowing full well what Emma meant. "We have to get you to the hospital."

That was when it dawned on Ruby, what Emma had meant. "Oh God, your in labor."

Emma looked up at Ruby with tears in her eyes. "I'm so sorry. I never meant to ruin your wedding day."

Ruby waved her hand in a dismissive manner. "You didn't ruin anything. You're going to have a baby, Emma, that's so amazing. Snow's right, we need to get you to the hospital."

"Oh God, what's wrong?" James asked as he sauntered into the room. A look of fear on his face.

Snow smiled softly, "Emma's in labor, James. We're about to be grandparents … again."

James smiled brightly as he knelt down beside Emma, "It's alright, baby girl. Just breathe."

"Yeah, I got that part down alright. Could you maybe go grab Graham … and a vehicle?"

James nodded, "Of course! He's been worried, with you being late."

Emma nodded, she knew that it wasn't just that her and Ruby were late starting the wedding, though that probably didn't help. Her husband had been a frantic ball of nerves through-out her entire pregnancy, and though she loved him dearly, the clingy thing was really growing old and annoying.

The delivery room was smaller than Graham would have thought it would be. Just a small delivery table and a chair at the head of the table, which Graham assumed was for him to sit in. Dr. Whale was on his way, according to the nursing staff, but that didn't help calm Graham's severely frazzled nerves.

"Graham!" Emma shrieked, as she practically sat straight up. Tears filled her eyes, as her hand crushed against his.

Graham tried to hide the pain he felt at her bone-breaking squeezing, and attempted to calm her down. "Hey, Emma, look at me. It's alright, okay? Dr. Whale is on his way."

Emma nodded as she bit her lip. "You will not touch me with a ten foot pole." Emma managed, as she pointed at him.

Graham held up his free hand in surrender, "I won't even look at you, swear."

Emma groaned, before shaking her head, "I can't take this, Graham. Something's wrong. This doesn't feel right."

Graham's heart hammered hard instead his chest at her words. It wasn't like this was the first time Emma had given birth, so Graham trusted her judgment on what was right and wrong with the entire process. If she felt something was wrong, he was inclined to believe her. "Emma, if you let go of my hand, I'll get a nurse, alright?"

Emma whimpered, both, wanting Graham to get medical help but also not wanting him to leave her. "Okay." She sighed, as she relaxed her hand, allowing his to slip free.

Graham tried to be discreet as he attempted to rub feeling back into his pain-riddled fingers. "I'll be right back, Emma." Graham said, before exiting the room.

Looking around, Graham flagged down a nurse that was walking toward him. As she approached him, he sighed, unsure how to explain what was going on. Running a hand through his curly brown hair, he spoke, "Look, I know you said that the doctor was on his way, but my wife is certain that something is wrong."

The nurse looked at him skeptically for a moment, knowing that many women feel the same way. It always shocked her how many women didn't acknowledge just how painful child birth might actually be. "Sir, I can assure you the level of pain your wife is experiencing is perfectly normal."

Graham huffed, "This isn't her first child. If she says something's wrong, then something is wrong."

The nurse nodded, she couldn't deny that Graham had a point. Following him back into the delivery room she could tell that something was definitely off. Sweat was pouring off of Emma in buckets, and while that is typically normal, the pallor of her skin mixed with the dazed look in Emma's eyes was not. "Okay, I need to call Dr. Whale."

Graham eyed Emma worriedly, walking toward her, he ran his fingers against her cheek. "It's going to be alright, honey. I swear it is." He didn't believe the words as they spilled from his lips. Something was terribly wrong, and he feared that he would lose one or both of them.

Graham's knees bounced up and down, as a sickening feeling of dread settled into Graham's stomach. He eyed Emma's parents on his left, and Nikolai and Ruby on his right. He fought against the tears that welled in his eyes. The not knowing was killing him, as the feeling that he might lose Emma forever dawned on him for what felt like the hundredth time.

In that moment he realized just how much stronger Emma was. She had been able to to pick herself back up after Regina had effectively killed him. She had been able to move on … to move passed his death. Graham realized that he wouldn't be able to do the same. Emma Swan … she was it for him. No one else would be able to both, infuriate and crack him up.

"She's strong, brother." Nikolai mumbled suddenly. The deadening silence was weighing far too heavily on the room, and someone needed to hold out faith that Emma would be able to pull through this.

Graham couldn't stop the tears when Snow gripped his hand, and let them fall freely as her thumb rubbed calming circles on the back of his hand. "The worst part is I don't even know what the doctor meant when he said that she was experiencing cephalopelvic disproportion."

Snow let the words sink in, hoping that the teacher in her would understand Graham's words, but nothing came. Instead, she swallowed thickly, "Nikolai is right, Graham. Emma is strong and tough. She'll make it through this … she has to."

Graham peered at Snow through tear-filled eyes, "She has to. I don't know what I'd do without her."

It felt like a lifetime before Dr. Whale appeared, a small smile dancing at the edge of his lips. Graham's heart practically stopped, while everyone stood up.

"The C-Section went very smoothly. Emma and the baby are doing wonderful." Dr. Whale paused before turning to Graham. "You're wife is asking for you. Room 123."

Graham grinned brightly, as Snow gave his fingers a fleeting squeeze, before he sprinted down the hallway. He pumped his legs as hard as he could, ignoring the stares that he was receiving until he slid to a stop in front of the correct door. It hit him in that moment. He was a father. Resting his arms against the door jam, Graham tried to calm his uneven breathing. After a few deep breaths, Graham found a huge smile fitting his lips as he pushed the door open.

Emma's head swiveled around, and caught Graham's eyes. She saw the fear and worry drain from his intense blue eyes, as a fresh wave of love and adoration took the fear and worry's place. He reached her beside and placed a firm kiss on her forehead. "I was so scared." He whispered against her forehead.

"I'm sorry. I really need to stop doing that." Emma's voice was soft as she spoke.

Graham pulled away and saw his baby wrapped tightly in a blue blanket. "A boy?" He whispered softly, before looking back at Emma. When she nodded in ascent, he sighed. They hadn't decided on a name. In fact that they been playing baby name tennis, batting names back and forth … each being veto'd before a new one was thrown out. In that moment though, Graham knew what their son's name should be. "I know his name."

Emma grinned at him, "I do too."

Graham's eyes met hers, and he knew that they were thinking the same thing. "Shall I grab our family?"

Emma nodded, "Please do."

Graham kissed her head once more, before brushing a finger down his son's cheek. He was fairly certain his heart might burst with happiness, but he knew that Emma's parents and his brother would want to know what's going on. Pulling away from his family, Graham walked out the door and down the hallway. They were going to be one big happy family, and maybe, for once they could have some time to enjoy it.

"Emma is asking for all of you. She wants you to meet our son."

Snow's hand went to her mouth, as herself and James stood up. Nikolai rushed forward, smacking Graham's back. "Well done, brother."

"Thanks Nikolai."

The walk back to Emma's room seemed agonizing. Graham hated being away from both of them, and the closer that they got to Emma's room, the more the overwhelming dread lifted. He pushed the door open, and smiled at his wife.

"Have you thought of a name?" Ruby asked, knowing just how much the two of them had been fighting over what to name their unborn child.

"We have." Emma answered for him. Graham grabbed her hand, and nodded. "We've decided on Kristopher James Nicholas Humbert."

Eyebrows drew up all around the room, as Graham took a tiny step forward, as he cradled his son in his arms. "Kristopher for mine and Nikolai's father. He gave his life in the Enchanted Forest so that we could live. James for Emma's father," Graham paused, as he made eye contact with James, before continuing. "Nicholas, for you, my brother. It is the proper version of Nikolai in this realm."

Nikolai swiped a finger under his eye as a tear dripped from his tear-filled eyes. "Thank you." He whispered, as Ruby wrapped her arms around his waist.

Graham smiled at his brother, as Emma spoke. "Nikolai, if it weren't for you, Graham and myself never would have made it out of the Enchanted Forest alive. Especially after Graham got injured."

"It was the least I could do." Nikolai offered, before moving in closer to Graham. "He definitely has your hair, brother."

Graham chuckled, as he stared at his son. The small amount of hair that sat atop Kristopher's head was curly and brown in color. "I have to agree, Nikolai."

After a moment, Graham paused his son to Kristopher's grandparents, and stood back with Emma. "We did good, sweetheart."

"We did amazing." She gushed, as she squeezed Graham's hand before drifting to sleep. Her last thoughts were only happy ones before unconscious overtook her.
