Omg, THANK YOU FOR ALL THE REVIEWS. ESPECIALLY WHOEVER IT WAS THAT WROTE MORE THAN ONCE JUST SO I WOULD UPDATE AGAIN. SORRY I DIDN'T UPDATE YESTERDAY, I FELL ASLEEP EARLY AND RIGHT THROUGH THE NIGHT.
Now I don't know how I feel about this chapter but I kind of love/like what I'm doing with it. So here it is...
Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with Pretty Little Liars
Ezra walked onto the main street a few seconds after Sunshine had left the Brew. He knew that she meant well when she said that he should just forget about Aria and all the troubles. But the fact is that he can't forget about her. He is so far gone and in love with the woman that no one could forget about all the troubles and kisses that they both endured.
He took out his keys and looked around the lot before unlocking his door. Once he had gotten inside he took out his cell phone and brought up Aria's number. He called her, but like he thought she didn't answer.
He pulled out of his spot and headed down the main road towards his house when he saw the Lady Liberty's black SUV right in front of him. He knew that it was Aria right off the back. He started to follow her until she got onto the freeway.
"Where are you going Aria," He asked himself out loud and dialled her number again connecting the call through his speakers. But once again she didn't answer and he noticed that she missed the cut off that would take her to the hotel.
He shook his head as he followed her through traffic. Weaving in and out until he was finally right behind her Ezra then followed her to the airport. "Where are you going?" He asked once again getting a little nervous that Aria might be doing something really stupid.
Ezra watched as Aria pulled up to the curb in front of the Hawaiian Airlines and handed over the keys to what he noticed to be a Valet from the hotel. She had no baggage, just her bag. He did the same and brought out his phone once more. But this time he called Malcolm and on the first ring he answered.
"I need you to pick up my car." Ezra told him, "Get a friend to drive yours back"
"Where?" Malcolm asked confused, "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," Ezra let out a breath, "At the airport, I don't know how long I can hold a car here and I need you to come and get it now!"
"Okay, but what are you doing?" And just as he asked Ezra hung up the phone realizing that he never told him where. But figured that once he found out where Aria was going that he would just text him the details.
Ezra looked around him once more before discreetly walking a few steps behind Aria. He wanted to stay out of sight knowing full on that if Aria saw him following her she would make a big scene over nothing. At this point he just wanted to talk to her and if he had to follow her on plane and corner her- then that's exactly what he was going to do.
He watched closely as Aria went to check in and got her ticket and then watched as she went over to security check and that's when he took the chance to walk up to the counter "Hi, I was wondering if you could help me." Ezra gulped down, "My girlfriend had just checked in and I was wondering if you could tell me what time her flight would make touch down?"
The man looked at him sceptical, "You know you could log online for that sir?"
Ezra nodded, "Please, I really need to know"
With a sigh he spoke again, "What flight number is she on?"
Ezra looked at security check as Aria stepped closer to the scanner, "The truth is. I really need to get on a flight. I am willing to pay anything. Her name is Aria Montgomery and I screwed up, I pushed her away and all I am looking for here is a chance," Ezra looked back at him, "This is my last chance to redeem myself and you are my one way to do it." The man looked at him with a goofy look, "Please, I need your help"
Line break
Aria sat on the plane in first class ready to voice her mind. She wanted to tell her boss every single thing she thought about for the last couple of weeks. She bit her lip and lent back while looking out of the window. Passengers were still piling onto the plane so they were still grounded, she was lucky enough to have gotten her seat in the first place; seeing as it was last minute and all
She closed her eyes and let her mind go blank. It seems as if things were always following even when she went to bed. Aria would wake up with bad head aches and just wished it would go away. Most of her thoughts since arriving in Rosewood were of Ezra, Jay, her job and family. She always thought about what would have happened if she had stayed and fought her father. But even with staying she always had that fear of getting Ezra into some deep trouble for having sex with a minor, not to mention that-that said minor had a child.
Aria opened her eyes as the captain announced departure. She buckled her seat belt and turned her attention to the spokeswoman as she went over emergency access and such. It wasn't the first time that she had flown with Hawaiian Airlines and she knew pretty much by heart where everything was.
"Ms Montgomery, it's so good to see you again" Darla said after her announcement to the passengers and the plane became level "What can I get you?"
Placing a smile on her face Aria looked up and shrugged, "Tequila and coke," she answered sweetly bending down to pick up her bag and taking out her books as Darla hands Aria her drink and leaves down the aisles.
Meanwhile as Aria preps for what she has to do Ezra, the hopeful soul sat down rows back towards the right in first class taking the last available seat that was on the plane. Although he never grumbled because he could see Aria, although it was only the top of her head, he could see her; and see that she was alone.
He licked his lips and took the drink from the steward as he continued to look up from last row. He didn't know what he was going to say, but he knew that if he was going to do something it should be now.
He took off his seat belt and excused himself from the lonely lady that he managed to sit by and listened to for the last half hour. She nodded her head and Ezra made his way toward the back of the rows and then walked up towards her seat. He peeked over and saw what Aria was doing. She was working on her schedules from the Hotel and what looks like documents.
"Mind if I sit down," he interrupted and moved the binder that Aria had placed on the chair and placed it on his lap.
"How-"she started but he just turned his head to look at her with those boyish grin and determine look in his eyes, "How?"
"I followed you to the airport, I need to talk to you!" he pleaded.
"Really?" She bit out harshly, "Haven't you talked about me long enough?" She looked down at her binder and continued, "I need time"
Ezra looked at her in disbelief what exactly did she time for? It's not like he did anything wrong here! With a sigh he turned his head away for a bit and smiled as the steward walked passed them and then mumbled a few words. "You're wrong you know?" he looked back at her, "I never cheated on you!"
Aria shrugged, "I don't care anymore Ezra," She sipped her drink, "What's done is done and we can never get back what we had"
"I'm sorry that I ran out on you. I know it was just a simple question and I turned it into something bigger." He sucked in a breath, "I want to make this right. I want us to be right again."
Aria let out a laugh and turned to look him square in the eyes, "We were never right for each other. That's what makes our relationship so complicated. We were wrong and-"
"You're lying to me. If I was so wrong, or if WE were so wrong, why did we fight for our relationship?" He asked frustrated, "Why on earth would I be here right now trying my best to get you to talk to me? Or to even look at me"
"I am looking at you," She hissed in a hush tone trying her best not to make a scene, "I see nothing for us. Ezra, I just don't care anymore!" But Ezra wasn't having any of it. He launched forward and kissed her hard. He held the back of her head so she would stop trying to free herself. And when all hope was gone Aria let out a few tears, before Ezra even pulled away and let her free.
He let out a soft smile and pushed her hair back a little, looking deep into her eyes. "I know you care just as much as I do. And I am deeply sorry for pushing you away the night of your graduation." He licked his lips, "It's my fault that I didn't listen to you when you were trying to explain it to me. I'm sorry that I was so harsh and coward for facing you!" He grabbed her hand, "I knew where you were and I could have done everything in my power to face you and never. I let you helplessly raise our daughter, when I could have been there to help."
Aria pulled her hands out of his and picked up the papers that had fallen to the ground, before sucking in a deep breath and taking everything that Ezra just told her in. She wanted to believe him, but she couldn't. How can someone that claims their so in love with just let their soul mate down? She didn't know…. "Will you forgive me?" He pleaded tenderly once again trying to reach for her hand. "I-I just want a chance here to show you that our love is real."
Aria looked down at their hands and then up when Darla stopped in front of them asking if she wanted a refill. She shook her head no as Darla winked at Ezra and then showed Aria one of her girlish toothy grins. Aria smiled back and shook her head before looking back at Ezra, "How did you even get on this plane?"
Ezra chuckled, "A lot of pleading" He shook his head, "It wasn't easy!"
Aria laughed at Ezra "I'm sorry, I knew accusing you of cheating was way beyond me." She let out a breath "I'm deeply sorry too and the only way I will forgive myself is if you forgive me too!"
"I forgive you!" He smiled and went in for another kiss but Aria pulled away a little, "What?"
"Ezra," she licked her lips, "I've been drinking, and I don't want to kiss you again knowing that I have alcohol breath"
He laughed, "Okay," while kissing her temples
LINE BREAK
Not having any luggage with them Aria and Ezra made their way to the front of the airport where Aria had already made arrangements for a car to come and pick her up. She looked up at Ezra as he took her bag from her and held her right hand tightly in his. "What exactly are you doing here Aria?"
She shrugged and looked at the company car, "I have a few things I need to take care of"
He nodded his head and got in the car after Aria, "Ezra, this is Ben-Ben, Ezra" Aria introduce the two as he took off and headed towards the main road. "So, when I had gotten your call I thought you were coming alone?" Ben said looking into the review mirror and eyeing out Ezra.
"She was, but I couldn't let her take that trip alone" Ezra said looking into the mirror and making sure that Ben knew his ground, "I just love her too much."
Ben let out a soft sigh, "So what happened to Jay?"
"Ben," Aria spoke softly, "Not now please"
Ben nodded his head and looked into the mirror to see Ezra looking down at Aria. Ben had always had this soft spot for Aria ever since she had helped him out with his sister; who was battling cancer. He was really having a hard time a couple of years ago and looked to Aria as his own personal guardian angel. He would do anything to keep her safe and since he didn't know Ezra, he was a threat to Ben. "Alright"
The drive from the airport took longer than expected due to traffic but no later than an hour and a half Aria and Ezra filed out of the company car and took their surroundings. Aria was used to all the craziness of the place while Ezra looked a little lost. Even though he been to Vegas more than a handful of times he had never seen just one hotel as crowded as this.
"Wow," Ezra let out a breath and took hold of Aria's hand, "It's so busy"
Aria laughed at his expression and gave his hand a squeeze before ushering him into the building "I'm sorry about this" she looked up at him, "It's going to get crazy"
"What do you mean?" He asked confused, "What exactly are you doing here? What's the task?" he stopped and made sure she looked at him
Aria let out a breath before closing her eyes, "Everything is about work so don't worry about it. I just need to tie up a few loose ends."
Ezra licked his lips, "Okay, so what do you need me to do?"
"I need you to support me. No matter what happens I would really appreciate the support" she looked him in the eyes, "I know I haven't been all that supportive of you-or- I know that I'm a bitch and not the same person that you once knew. But my heart is the same and I still care about you!"
"I care about you too!" he smiled sincerely
LINE BREAK
A few hours later Ezra found himself at one of the slots machines it's not that he was a gambling man it was because he didn't know what to do. Las Vegas wasn't really his town and when he did come for a few days it was always with the guys. He always had company.
He licked his lips and watched as the numbers rolled. It was another lost. He then looked around him and saw nothing that interested him what-so-ever so he kept on playing. "Cocktails" he heard and then saw the lady round the corner and debated if he should have one. So far he has been really good at not wanting to drink and when he did want it; he thought about what Jay had told him about his drinking 'Aria, will never let you around your daughter if you continue this up' it was right before he left when Ezra had dropped him off at the airport.
"Sir, would you like something to drink?" Ezra turned his head to the voice and shook his head, "Ezra? Ezra Fitzgerald?"
"Do I know you?" He asked confused and then looked at her name tag, "Peyton, Peyton Garrison?"
She nodded her head and placed the tray full of empty bottles and cups down on the seat next to him before eloping him in a tight hug, "Wow, you look the same!"
Ezra chuckled and stood up from his spot, "You changed a heck of a lot," He smiled looking at her from head to toe, "What are you doing here? When did you get back?"
She smiled and shrugged, "Well right after High School I went to UCLA, I've been back for a while" Ezra nodded and she smirked, "I can't believe that after so many years we have ran into one another. What are you doing here? Are you alone?"
Ezra opened his mouth to speak but saw Aria walking up to them. He shook his head and looked at Peyton right in the eyes, "Not really" he coughed, "I believe you know Ms Montgomery?"
"Hey Pey," Aria smiled as Peyton turned around, "Is he giving you a hard time?" Aria joked not knowing that Ezra knew Peyton from his Middle School days.
Peyton laughed, "Actually he was always a pain in the ass growing up." Aria looked at him confused and then back at her, "We dated in Middle School"
Aria closed her eyes and then opened them back up to look at Peyton with an award winning smile, "Wow, what a small world." She turned to Ezra, "Why don't the two of you catch up then. I still have a few things to do here"
Ezra licked his lips, "Can I talk to you first?"
Aria shook her head, "Oh don't be rude." She looked at Peyton, "Your shift is over in a few minutes anyway why don't you take off"
Peyton looked at her with a questionable glance before shrugging it off "Sure, yeah!" Peyton answered unsure. "What about you Ezra? Are you up for a late dinner?"
"Actually," He began but Aria cut him off, "of course he is. Just don't' let him out of your sight okay?" And then walked away leaving the two to gawk at her behind.
Peyton waited until Aria was out of site before looping her arm around Ezra's and pulling him towards the nearest restaurant they had in the Hotel. She smiled widely and looked up at him, "So what have you been up too?"
Ezra shrugged, "I'm teaching High School AP Lit. In Rosewood" He smirked at her
"Really?" She opened her eyes wide, "And here you wanted to be an astronaut" She joked remembering what Ezra had told her when they started to date, "When did that dream die?'
"Oh it didn't" He joked back, "I would love to fly to the moon and see if it's made out of Cheese"
Peyton laughed hard and told her friend that she needed a table. They were immediately seated and ordered a few Ice Teas before she asked another question, "How's Jay? Do you still keep in touch with the gang?"
Ezra shook his head, "Jay just left for Texas, and I really haven't kept in touch with most people after we parted ways for High School. As far as I know Taylor, went to California with her family her freshman year and the rest of us parted after graduation."
Peyton sipped her drink, "I know what you mean," She frown, "I thought you and I were going to keep in touch."
"It was hard, Pey" Ezra looked down at his hands and noticed he was ripping up the napkins into little pieces, "I missed you so much and the more I thought about it the more depressing it got. So I just kept to my studies and I guess in a way that's when I felt the love for books, "He looked up at her to see a few tears, "I loved it so much that I wanted to express myself and teach kids that there's more to life."
Peyton smiled at Ezra as he talked. She never knew what she missed out on when she and her family moved because her father had gotten the job that he always wanted. She let out a breaths and they ordered their food.
Two hours later they were still in the restaurant talking like nothing had went by. Ezra listened as she talked about how she meant her soul mate in college and they have a son together, but later frown and felt sorry when she told him that he had passed a month before she had given birth.
Ezra looked at his watch another couple of hours later and then looked back up at Peyton, "We've been talking for four hours. Wow, time does fly."
Peyton nodded, "I'm so happy that I ran into you!" She stood up, "But I should really get going. My mom has my son tonight and she's probably wondering where I am."
Ezra nodded, "I loved catching up with you. Email me or call me" he offered and took the pen out of her front pocket and wrote down his number and email address on the napkin. "We should catch up again!"
Peyton laughed, "I will do that," She hugged him and he hugged her back. But pulling away Peyton looked deep into his eyes, "Keep it real, okay?" she kissed him on the lips, "I'll see you later!"
"Bye Pey," Ezra waved her off.
So with Aria and Ezra slowly getting back together in this chapter what do you think about Peyton? What's her motives in this story?
I told you there was a twist (somewhat).
