Chapter 22

The morning sun slowly sweeps across the Windclan camp. Just the night before cats had been fighting mercilessly in the Forestclan camp, desperately trying to over throw their bloody leader Rainstar. Technically, they did fail, but only for the time being.

Snowpaw lifted her head from her nest in the medicine cat den. Beside her, Hawkfire was still sleeping. She had awoken to the soft rays of sun lazily seeping through the ground outside of the den. Snowpaw tried to move, but recoiled in pain because her shoulder was hurting her so much. She flattened her ears with disgust as Flameheart padded into the den.

"You alright, Snowpaw?"he meowed in his sweet voice.

Snowpaw spat a reply,"Like I'd ever believe your words!"she flattened her ears in anger. She gazed around the den, and saw that Lightfoot, Sweetwind, Coppertail and Hollowwing were also in the medicine cat den.

Flameheart rolled his eyes."Sure. I know deep down you still like me,"he growled, then lowered his voice,"And I plan to use that to my advantage."

Snowpaw shook her head."Say what you want, Flameheart, but it's all a lie. Everything you ever told me. I'm going to tell Morningstar of your loyalty problems."

"No! You take one step out of this den, and I'll-I'll-"Flameheart gazed at the other cats.

Lightheart stood."Go on, Flameheart. I can make sure Coppertail and Sweetwind and that dumb Hollowwing don't whisper a word to a soul."he glared at them.

"I'll shred you!"Flameheart growled."I will take you prisoner and bring you to Rainstar. Brownfoot! Creekwater! I need you!"

Snowpaw narrowed her eyes."If it is a yelling contest you want, it is a yelling contest you will get."Snowpaw muttered."BLAZEHEART! Oh BLAZEHEART!"

Brownfoot and Creekwater padded in."Yes Flameheart?"Brownfoot asked, not being able to hide an evil purr.

"Take this flea-bag to Rainstar!"Flameheart yowled."Oh and by the way, Snowpaw,"Flameheart leaned closer to the she-cat."Your friends are all out battling another clan, so we can take you to-"

"Not if I can help it!"Blazeheart growled, and stepped forward towards Flameheart."You are NOT taking one of my cats hostage!"

Flameheart started purring in amusement."Creekwater, dispose of him!"Creekwater lunged towards Blazeheart, who simply dodged the oncoming warrior. Flameheart bit into Snowpaw's scruff and started dragging her out of the medicine den. Hawkfire awoke from all of the commotion.

"Put her down and maybe you'll live!"Hawkfire threatened. Flameheart dropped Snowpaw and lunged for Hawkfire. The two toms started battling it out. Hawkfire matched Flameheart move-for-move, easily deflecting all of them.

"Time to teach you a little Waterclan discipline!"Hawkfire kicked Flameheart hard as he crashed through the entrance of the medicine den.

"What's going on?"Morningstar asked, looking confused.

"Blazeheart started another battle!"Flameheart blurted out.

"No!"Snowpaw meowed, getting up and padding on three legs back to her nest."It was Flameheart; he's a spy for Rainstar's camp! I heard him myself!"

"I don't spy on any clan except our enemy clans!"Flameheart spat.

Morningstar shook her head."I don't believe-"

"Snowpaw is telling the truth,"Sweetwind meowed.

"Yeah."agreed Coppertail.

"The clan will decide who to punish."Morningstar exited the medicine cat den and padded to Sandy Rock.

"Let all cats old enough to chase hares gather here for a clan meeting!"Morningstar yowled.

Cats began to gather in clusters and groups. Most stayed near the warriors den.

Snowpaw looked at Briarpaw."Who died?"

"Crowfeather, Sleetfur, Echomist, Moonpaw and Winterpaw."Briarpaw meowed.

Snowpaw stared at the ground. Quillpaw's lost his only littermate!

Morningstar's mew jolted Snowpaw from her thoughts."As you all know, we suffered a great loss to the Forestclan warriors. I have a couple of questions to ask all of you. The first one, do you think Flameheart is a spy for Rainstar?"

Meows of protest rang all around camp."Why would he do that?"Brownfoot yowled.

"He's no traitor!"Stoneclaw spat.

"If you ask me, it's that Blazeheart who's the traitor!"Fallowpool shouted.

"If you are in favor of Flameheart, stand to my left. If you believe he is a spy, stand to the right."Morningstar called.

Sweetwind flattened her ears and went right. So did Hollowwing, Coppertail and Funnyheart and Willowheart. Quillpaw also went right, along with Silverpaw, Ravenpaw, Heatherpaw, Whitepaw, and Bronzepaw, and of course Blazeheart and Ferncloud, Thistlejaw, Stonehawk, Badgerclaw, Rosesky, Brackenclaw, Curlyfur, Birdflight, Littlewing, Moonwater, and Graycloud, and Hawkfire, Aspen, and Ginger too.

Everyone else thought Flameheart wasn't a spy.(lol the first time it said 'soy')

"Then it is settled. The ones who thought Flameheart was a spy are numbered 25, and those who don't think Flameheart was a spy are numbered as 14. I have had enough with the whole Flameheart thing. Flameheart, from now on, you are banned from Windclan! FOREVER!"Morningstar yowled.

"What?"Lightfoot snapped."I think this is unjust!"

"Anyone also wishing to leave may do so!"Morningstar yowled. Flameheart stood by the entrance of camp.

"Who's going to join me?"he asked.

"I am!"Lightfoot meowed. He was quickly followed by Creekwater, Darkheart, and Brownfoot. Hollyfrost came along as well.

"So long, Windclan!"Flameheart yowled. He then dashed off.

"Now. Because of Windclan's massive loss of numbers, we are going to ask to see if we should fight for Blazeheart again. Those who want to, stand on my left. Those who don't, on my right, please."Morningstar continued.

All of the Windclan cats were on the right, and all of the Forestclan cats were on the left. The Windclan cats numbered only 12, while the Forestclan were 23 strong.

"Blazeheart, I believe my clan has lost enough trying to help your clan. However, I will still fight for you, as I believe you would let us stay in peace for awhile?"

Blazeheart dipped his head."Yes, Morningstar."

"Okay. Now, Aspen and Ginger, please come here."The two cats slowly walked up to Morningstar."It is now time for both of you to be trained properly. From now on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be called Aspenpaw and Gingerpaw. Aspenpaw your mentor is me. Gingerpaw, your mentor is Owlclaw. Also, the new mentors of Bronzepaw, Ravenpaw, Silverpaw, Quillpaw, and Heatherpaw are Heathertail, Wildfern, Stonehawk, Thistlejaw, and Curlyfur. Silverpaw, you get Heathertail, Quillpaw has Wildfern, Bronzepaw has Stonehawk, Thistlejaw has Ravenpaw, and Curlyfur has Heatherpaw. Clan dismissed."

Snowpaw sighed. Life would soon return to normal; or would it, with Flameheart and his friends back at Rainstar's camp?

But there's something wrong. I can feel it. Something huge is going to happen soon...
