Sorry this has taken so long, I got writer's block again ^^; Anyway, hope you enjoy. Read and Review!
"Femur!" Hearing her name just as she felt someone come through the barrier around the island the hybrid's eyes snapped open as she gathered Chaos Energy, releasing it harmlessly upon seeing the white bat child flying towards her with someone in her arms.
"Mascara." Femur said as the other stumbled on her landing and nearly dropped the one she was carrying, she clearly wasn't used to carrying someone or something that looked at least twice her weight.
"I brought...I brought Mother..." Mascara stated, gasping for breath. She was tired...the hybrid wondered how much energy it had taken the full-blood to fly here with the older bat. Walking down the steps the older girl carefully pulled the adult from the child's arms, lifting her in a bridal-position.
"Follow me." The undead girl walked up the stairs the equally white and pale peach bat, placing her gently beside the Master Emerald. She was gasping desperately for air, a horrible fever filling her body...the woman seemed to be asleep, to which the teenager was grateful...no one deserved such illness.
"Femur?" The young white flier asked softly as she reached the top of the shrine, only for the guardian to smile reassuringly at her before turning to her charge.
"The servers are the seven Chaos. Chaos is power; power is enriched by the heart. The controller is the one that unifies the Chaos. Master Emerald I ask you, grant my wish...heal this woman!" The Master Emerald began to glow a bright green as the chant seemed to echo through the island, a vein of Chaos Energy stretching out from it and into the adult. Teal eyes snapped open with a gasp as power rushed through her body and destroyed the sickness that ailed her.
"Femur!" Masa appeared as the girl fell to the floor of the shrine, coughing and landing on one knee.
"I'm fine." She said quickly, not wanting to worry anyone. "It's just...been a long time...since I've done that..." The red and blue fighter explained between gasps, coughing again. "Are you alright Miss?" The glowing eyed girl asked as she tried to stand.
"I'm fine now...thanks to you, young guardian." The woman explained, smiling softly at the girl.
"Rouge..." The green projection said softly, eyes wide.
"What?" Femur asked as she looked at him, seeming to forget that no one else could hear him for a moment. The older bat blinked in confusion but seemed to press forwards anyway.
"My name is Rouge the Bat and you are Femur the Echidhog, right?"
"How...do you know my name?" The girl asked as she stood, eyed now narrow.
"Please don't be alarmed. I'm...or at least, I was, a friend of your mother. I was here when you were first born." Rouge explained.
"A white bat...the bat woman mother used to speak of...Bat-girl..." The guardian remembered, the once thief nodding.
"Yes, you're mother used to call me that. It certainly wasn't the most creative of nicknames." The woman chuckled as she reminisced for a moment.
"That's definitely Rouge...there's no need to worry." Masa assured his guardian, knowing that the girl felt uncomfortable and a little suspicious because she couldn't remember the bat.
"I'm sorry...I can't remember you." The hybrid apologised, looking sad.
"It's fine, I didn't expect you to. You weren't very old when your parents and I got in an argument...I stopped coming to visit after that." The older bat explained, her daughter merely sitting beside her as though this was some sort of story time.
"An argument..." The teenager could feel a memory just out of her reach at the mention of an argument; she'd have to ask Masa about it later.
"Where are your parents?" Glowing eyes narrowed again unhappily.
"Somewhere on the mainland with my little brother Fang. I wouldn't know where, haven't seen them for three years." The owner hissed, arms crossed and almost looking like she was pouting angrily. The adult flier's smile fell immediately.
"I see...so they decided to do what I disagreed on after all..." Rouge's ears flicked slightly in a sign of irritation.
"Wait...you left because...you knew they were planning to leave me here alone?" The red and blue fighter asked with wide eyes.
"Yes, that's right. I argued with Knuckles for quite a while...she said that this decision was theirs and that I had no right to argue with them, so I left." The woman explained.
"I see...so they really were planning this from the beginning then."
"Well, not the beginning but-" She was cut off by the teenager.
"A few years later, it's close enough. If you're trying to change my opinion of them it's a little late...I already threw one of them off of this very island." Femur stated with a cruel smile, only for the former thief to smile a bit herself.
"I'm trying to do no such thing...neither of them are who they were before, you have every right to be angry with them and dislike them. I do a bit myself." The undead girl smiled a little more.
"How about you two spend the night, it looks like it's going to rain again."
Rouge isn't happy with who Sonic and Knuckles have become either, so she seems to understand Femur's dislike for her parents. Perhaps this will go somewhere, perhaps not. See you all soon.
