Thus one's a little shorter than I'd like, but I figured I found a good spot to end it. Hope you all enjoy, read and review!
"I have no idea why I agreed to this." Grumbled a very adult Amy Rose as she and the adult white bat landed on Angel Island.
"I know you're not happy about Knuckles and Sonic, but I can assure you that Femur has nothing to do with her parents." Rouge stated, leading the unhappy hedgehog to the shrine.
"Faster." Shadow commanded the young guardian as she kicked at the same spot over and over again, she sped up until her leg was a blur and the tree she'd been kicking fell to the ground. "You have your father's speed...you need to learn to use it." The dark hedgehog said, the teenager nodding.
"You're getting better really fast Femur." Mascara stated with a smile, the hybrid smiling back at her.
"I don't see why she needs a weapon; Shadow seems to be teaching her fine." Amy muttered, still unhappy with the situation.
"She can't attack this enemy directly...they can absorb Chaos Energy." Rouge explained, the female hedgehog sighing.
"Fine, fine...I'll find a good weapon for her." She stated with a slight growl, walking over to the anti-hero and his student and her friend.
"Rose..." Shadow stated when he saw her...she'd grown in the many years since he'd seen her, she looked like the woman she was now; her colour coordination had even changed, she wore black and red now.
"Hello. My name is Femur the Echidhog." The undead girl introduced, seeing the new adult.
"I know who you are." The green eyed woman growled angrily, the glowing eyed girl flinching back at the harsh tone. "...I'm Amy Rose." She added after several moments of silence.
"Amy is here to teach you to use a weapon." The once-thief explained, smiling at her 'niece' as the girl suddenly looked shocked. "It was Shadow's idea."
"I see...thank you Amy." The older girl smiled, only to be glared at by the pink woman.
"I agreed to help find a good weapon for her. If I don't have to teach her I won't." She corrected, the white woman sighing.
"Right." She agreed, not wanting to force anything. The weapons master looked briefly at the red eyed hedgehog before looking back at the one she was to be helping.
"Firearms aren't the type of weapon for you; I can say that right away." She explained before looking thoughtful. "Something like brass knuckles or spiked shoes would be best, but that isn't possible either with the enemy...perhaps..." She reached into the bag no one had noticed, pulling out a blunt mace. "Try this." Handing it to the red and blue fighter, said girl looked a little confused.
"Um...how do I...?" Femur questioned. Amy rolled her eyes before taking it back. Swinging it around with practiced ease, she hit another tree and broke through it with ease. Glowing eyes widened as the top half of the tree crashed to the ground.
"Just swing it, it's not that hard." The pink hedgehog commanded, handing the weapon back to the hybrid. "Just be sure to have a good grip." She added, the girl nodding. They trained for a good half a day, the guardian getting used to using her new weapon.
"Thank you again Amy." Femur said after the training was done.
"...You're nothing like your parents." Amy stated, turning sharply to the dark hedgehog who had been watching them. "I'd like to go home now."
"...Fine." Shadow agreed, grabbing the woman's wrist and disappearing in a flash of green light.
"Was that...supposed to be a compliment?" The hybrid asked, the bats both shrugging.
"Amy used to have strong feelings for Sonic...she's still pretty bitter about how things turned out." Rouge explained, the undead girl nodding in understanding.
"You'd be the same if someone took Shadow from you." Masa stated with a smirk, the first time he'd spoken all day. A blush quickly covered his guardian's muzzle.
"Sh-shut up Masa!" She snarled back, her aunt laughing as she realised what the projection had said. "Aunty!" The older girl whined, she didn't like to be laughed at.
"Why don't you tell Mr. Shadow how you feel?" Mascara asked suddenly, the red and blue fighter sighing.
"It's not...that simple Mascara..." She murmured sadly, looking above her as though the slowly appearing stars would solve her problems.
"Femur..." The group all saw the building tears in the glowing eyes; it was something that they should never have brought up.
"What did you do?!" Everyone turned to see an angrier than usual looking red eyed hedgehog, fangs bore at the group as he stared at the tearing up fighter.
"I-I...I didn't mean to..." The young bat stumbled over her words; she didn't know that her mother's ex-partner could be so scary.
"I'm fine Shadow." Femur responded, closing her eyes. "I was just...thinking of things never to be, that's all." Assuming she meant her inability to leave the island the skater nodded and appeared to look at her with slightly sad eyes of his own. "I'm going to get some more food." Without waiting for a response the older girl went into the forest, wanting to be alone for just a little while.
There are certain things that just cause Femur to cry, mentioning her inability to tell or be with Shadow is one of those things. Poor Femur, I've put her in quite the mess. Also, I always imagined the Amy of this storyline to become a weapon's master...not sure why, I just do. Well, hope you all enjoyed and see you all later.
