I'm sorry this took so long, I was having writer's block. Anyway, read and review and hope you enjoy (most of this was written at my dad's house again, encase anyone was wondering).

Appearing in his customary green flash, the dark hedgehog looked around the clearing for the island guardian. Seeing the girl lying motionless in the clearing, his eyes darted to the giant emerald.

"You know, you don't have to panic just because I'm relaxing on the ground." Came the voice of the hybrid.

"I was not 'panicking'." Shadow disagreed with narrowed eyes. The red and blue fighter sat up; laughing softly...something she'd never done around him before.

"Of course not." Femur was making fun of him, the skater was sure of it. "If you're worried about that Pack of Thief Dogs you are a little late...Amy helped me with them though, not that I seemed to need it this time." The undead girl explained, stretching.

"Amy helped?" The full-blood asked, looking slightly confused...what was the weapon master doing back on the island?

"She came to get the mace back...she said that she knew I wouldn't use it. She asked to help me out when she noticed them." The glowing eyed girl enlightened, standing with another stretch. The red eyed man made a small sound of understanding, turning from the girl.

"I'm going to get food." He stated, walking into the forest.

"...You don't think he's mad at me, do you?" Femur asked after a moment.

"I don't see why he would be." Masa pointed out as he appeared beside his guardian.

"Yeah...you're right." She smiled at the projection, who smiled back at her.

"She doesn't need me here anymore." Shadow stated as he walked, subconsciously gathering food for himself.

"Hey Shadow, I need to ask for a huge favor...a promise, actually...I screwed up big when I saw Femur again, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to see me...ever. So...could you protect her for me?"

"I've trained her...she doesn't need my help anymore..." Why was he...sad, at that realisation? Not wanting to think about it the hedgehog started to walk back towards the shrine.

"Those look good...I wish I could eat some." The dark hedgehog froze at the words before slowly looking at the hybrid...he'd never seen her eat, but had never realised that she couldn't.

"You can't?" He questioned, the girl nodding and smiling sadly.

"The Master Emerald gives me all the energy I need...if I eat or drink then I just get sick." Femur explained with that same sad smile. The skater suddenly felt odd at the look, like he wanted to...comfort her...

"It doesn't taste that good." Shadow said without thinking, causing her to giggle.

"Are you trying to make me feel better Shadow?" The undead girl asked with a much happier smile. The full-blood huffed, causing her to giggle a bit more. "...Thank you Shadow."

"I'm going to be leaving tonight." Shadow stated as the undead girl stared towards the sunset, causing her to look at him over her shoulder.

"Again? You just got back..." Femur pointed out, giving a sigh. "Yeah, ok...when are you going to be back?"

"Not for a while." The hybrid stared at the dark hedgehog for several moments, a heavy silence between then.

"...You're leaving, like...really leaving the island. You won't be staying again..." She realised aloud, the skater nodding. Her smile was sad once more. "Of course...you were only staying to teach me to fight...I can protect this island and the Master Emerald myself now, I don't...need you...here anymore..." The red and blue fighter's voice cracked as she turned her head sharply away from him.

"Femur..." Masa murmured, the glowing eyed girl suddenly standing.

"You forgot to get water...I'll go grab you some." Before the red eyed man could respond the girl jumped from the shrine and dashed off towards the river.

"Good job, you've made her upset now." The projection snarled at the man, despite it going unheard.

"He's leaving...Shadow's leaving!" Femur sobbed as she ran, she didn't really have a specific destination in mind but she knew she wanted to run...run until it didn't hurt anymore, perhaps she had picked up some things beyond speed itself and the colour of her quill-like dreadlocks from her father after all.

"Femur! Femur!" The red and blue fighter skid to a stop as she heard the projection of her charge.

"Yeah?" She questioned, spinning to face him.

"It's the Pack of Thief Dogs, they're back!" Masa exclaimed, causing the girl's eyes to narrow.

Appearing in a flash the hybrid saw the dark hedgehog go flying into the side of the shrine.

"Shadow!" She screamed, eyes wide. The undead girl spun to face the dogs, fangs bore at Pack of Thief Dogs dangerously. "You...how dare you..." She snarled, pulling energy from her charge. "You...will...pay!" The energy surrounding the guardian, the island began to tremble and fall slowly she was gathering so much energy.

"Kane! Atlas!" Lily called as the island began to fall.

"Is this...the guardian's true power?" Kane asked, looking from her to the glove that they'd used against her this whole time. "...We were the fools, thinking we could beat her." He realised, gesturing to his partners to come to his side.

"Pay..." The undead girl's fur seemed to glow green with all the Master Emerald Chaos Energy building in her. She appeared suddenly before the Shepherd, kicking him in the head and causing him to fly back into the forest.

"Atlas!" Both the remaining dogs called, eyes wide...they'd truly gone too far this time.

"We're going to die..." The Chihuahua breathed, eyes wide. A knee to her gut and she fell with a deafening thud.

"We are..." The Terrier agreed, taking a step back.

"Femur." Shadow stood behind the girl, hoping to calm her down. He placed his hand on her shoulder to get her attention, but the hedgehog's eyes became blank and he fell to the ground with his own thud.

"W...what?" Femur blinked as she returned to normal, the Chaos Energy flowing back to her charge and causing the island to stop falling just before it hit the water...it floated there for a few moments before beginning to rise again. Looking down she saw her crush on the ground, realising he must have tried to calm her before she killed the three dogs. "...Leave." The glowing eyed girl demanded, the brown eyed boy nodding quickly before the three disappeared in a flash of green, their gloves remaining behind.

"That was close, you very near killed them." Masa stated, the undead girl nodding. She'd lost control of herself to her rage when she saw the man hurt, it was only his voice and touch that had returned her to normal.

"Alright Shadow, I didn't kill them." The guardian knelt down before the anti-hero, poking him when he didn't respond.

"His mind isn't there." Her head snapped up, eyes narrowing.

"What do you mean?" She asked her charge.

"The Chaos Energy from me drew in his mind while you were lost...his mind is inside my true form." The projection explained, the girl Chaos Controlling herself and Shadow's motionless body to the top of the shrine.

"I'm going in after him." The red and blue fighter stated, placing her forehead against the Master Emerald. There was a moment of silence before her body slumped against it, falling after a few seconds to the floor.
