Sorry it took so long, I got writer's block again. I couldn't remember what words I used to describe Shadow, so it got repetitive. This entire chapter is pretty much visions from the Master Emerald to Shadow, the second and last are already ones I've shown if you want to skip them but the others are not. Anyway, read and review and hope you enjoy.

Opening his eyes, the dark hedgehog looked around to find himself standing in the shrine of the Master Emerald. Confused, he looked around, finding a green male echidna with purple eyes staring at the Master Emerald. More confused and now curious, the black and red hedgehog looked at where the echidna was to see another echidna with their hand on the Master Emerald...this one was a hot pink female with blue eyes, she looked pregnant. The skater turned more when he heard someone climbing the stairs, seeing a dark red echidna with purple eyes and the guardian mark on his chest enter the shrine.

"He will be a boy...I've made sure of it." The pink echidna stated, her back to the red one.

"Indeed, the next guardian will be a male..." The green one murmured with a sigh, shaking his head. The hedgehog turned back to the female, seeing her slowly turned to the other male, looking away when her eyes met his.

"Don't look at me like that...I'm not just going to leave a little girl to fend for herself on this island, protecting this thing." She explained with a point over her shoulder to the giant gem, looking upset. Blue eyes looked up at the guardian again, the owner biting her lip. "It's not like we have a choice in the end...it's the least we can do."

"That is one way of looking at it." The mark-less purple eyed echidna said, though the red eyed man didn't turn to face him this time. The marked purple eyed echidna moved his mouth, closing it almost immediately and shaking his head. He walked up to the girl, hugging her and after a moment...she began to cry.

Suddenly the scene changed to show the pink female and a familiar red echidna, though a small child, sitting beside the Master Emerald.

"Am I...seeing memories?" Shadow wondered, eyes narrow. He didn't have time for this, the current guardian had been trying to kill others...it didn't seem he had a choice though.

"Ankle is back." The green echidna said. He was now before the stairs to the clearing, looking towards the forest ahead of him...the dark hedgehog turned to look as well, seeing the dark red echidna enter the clearing.

"Daddy!" The child called happily as he ran towards the man, down the stairs and across the clearing. A pale muzzle smiled softly at him, kneeling to catch his small running form. He jumped into the man's arms, nuzzling him happily. From the bottom of the stairs was heard a laugh, the two turning to see the pink woman smiling much more openly at them.

"Knuckles certainly has missed you...hasn't left the Master Emerald since you left, until you arrived on the island again anyway. I've never seen an echidna run so fast." The woman explained, laughing more as her son turned to look at his father again, the the man's purple eyes showing apology for something...the skater assumed, correctly, that it was leaving him with his mother.

"It ok!" He assured man with a smile, said man hugging him tightly.

The scene changed again, now the hedgehog was in a harsh storm in the woods with the echidnas although the green was missing...it seemed to have been a few years from the last vision, the young guardian was now nearing five from the look of him.

"Knuckles, go on ahead to the cave with our ancestors." The pink woman commanded the child, her voice loud to be heard over the crashing thunder.

"B-but, I-" The boy was cut off quickly.

"Go!" His mother yelled, the boy biting his lip before running off into the woods. The blue eyed woman sat with a sigh as soon as the boy was out of her line of sight, which was short thanks to the storm. "He'll be safe now." She breathed, the skater couldn't tell if it was the rain or if she'd begun to cry.

"..." Without a sound the man grabbed the woman's wrist, pulling her up.

"Ankle?!" She asked in confusion as he began to pull her towards the direction their son had went. "What are you doing?!" The pink echidna demanded, trying to pull her wrist away. The red looked back at her with determination, tugging at her wrist again and pointing in the direction he was trying to pull her. "You're right, we can't just give up!" She smiled, the two beginning to run.

"I'm sorry Ankle...Waist...Knuckles..." The green echidna appeared suddenly as the red eyed hedgehog seemed to teleport again to ahead of the two running echidnas, looking sad as he pointed to a thick tree in front of them. Immediately the tree cracked, much to the hedgehog's surprise, falling onto the two. Silence seemed to fill the area; abruptly the Chaos user couldn't hear anything...he merely stared at the now lifeless bodies of the guardian and his significant other.

"Shadow!" The dark hedgehog again appeared in the shrine, in front of the Master Emerald once more. The current hybrid guardian stood across from him. He looked around, expecting to see himself...however there was no one there but the girl. "Shadow." Femur repeated, looking straight at him.

"...Femur." Shadow stated after a moment, the girl nodding and smiling widely.

"I found you!" She exclaimed, stretching suddenly. "Do you have any idea how hard it was, even for me, to find you? It was a lot harder than I'd originally thought...Emmy didn't help any either." She muttered angrily.

"You wouldn't have wanted me to Femur." Masa pointed out as he appeared across from the red eyed hedgehog, making a triangle with the three. The Chaos user looked at the echidna in the corner of his eye, not looking directly at him. The glowing eyed girl, on the other hand, sighed.

"Yeah, I guess you have a point." She agreed, reaching towards Shadow and grabbing his wrist. "Let's get out of here."

The hybrid and hedgehog appeared in the clearing, eight year old Femur in it along with her mother, Brother and Masa.

"No...no..." The current Femur looked horrified, as she realised what was going on. "No! Masa! Let us out, let us out now!" She screamed, hurting the hedgehog's ears...he said nothing, wondering why she was so upset.

"It'll only be for a little while Femur, we'll be back before the sun comes down." Knuckles tried to calm her eight year old daughter, who was essentially throwing a temper tantrum.

"I wanna go to the mainland too!" Young Femur screamed, crying and stomping her feet...which was causing small earthquakes to rack the floating island.

"Femur, you know you can't leave Angel Island." The red puncher reminded her daughter softly.

"We could get the Chaos Emeralds!" The undead girl persisted, causing her mother to sigh.

"That would only give you a few minutes at most. It wouldn't be worth it, and you'd only get angrier later." The guardian pointed out. "Besides, you're going to be the guardian of this island and the Master Emerald someday, this will be perfect training for you."

"Who says I wanna protect that stupid thing anyway?!" The little girl sobbed angrily.

"I can hear you." Masa reminded the young girl as he appeared beside her, sounding slightly annoyed.

"Go away! You're not real!" She screamed at him, covering her ears and closing her eyes.

"Just because you're the only one who can see me doesn't mean I don't exist young guardian." The green echidna stated with a sigh.

"Go away! I don't wanna be you're guardian, let Fang do it! He wants to!" Great, now the girl's fit was fixed on him.

"Femur..." The violet eyed woman spoke softly, turning her child gently to face her again. "You were born to be the next guardian, you can't just give that to Fang." The guardian herself explained calmly.

"But...but...I don't wanna! I don't wanna stay here forever!" The girl's display of anger had turned into true sobbing and sadness, revealing her true thoughts and wishes. Masa looked away sadly.

"I know Femur...I'm sorry. So, so sorry." Knuckles held her daughter, letting her cry and beginning to cry silently herself.

Again on in the shrine, at some point the undead girl has fallen to her knees and began to cry.

"Femur..." Shadow said softly, unable to understand why she was upset but knowing she was. She looked up at him, hand still gripping his wrist.

"Shadow...let's go, ok? Before Masa decided to show us anything else." Femur's voice wavered, soft and broken from her crying. They began to glow, before they disappeared from the Master Emerald.

"I'm sorry Femur." The projection sighed, staring at where the two had been.

Looks like Masa did something to make Femur rather upset with him. She didn't want Shadow to see her past, it would seem...or maybe it was her desperation to leave the island that she didn't want him to know. Either way, I wonder how Shadow is going to react to this... Well, hope you all enjoyed. See you all next time ^^
