Alright, here's the epilogue of For a Masa. Hope you all enjoy, read and review.
"Hello Shadow." Femur smiled as she saw the dark hedgehog, waving slightly with one hand from atop the shrine steps.
"Where is his family?" Shadow questioned, looking around for the people he was speaking of.
"They already left." The guardian responded, stretching.
"Oh...I see." The skater muttered, a familiar green echidna appearing beside him.
"They said they had no reason to come here without him." Masa explained, the red eyed male nodding in understanding.
"It makes sense." The undead girl pointed out, her earlier smile falling with a sigh.
"He was the last one...are you alright with that?" The anti-hero asked, the hybrid suddenly smiling again.
"I still have you, don't I?" She pointed out, moving so she was lying against the shrine floor. The man stared at her for a moment before an ever so small smile graced his own lips.
"I suppose so." He agreed, turning. "I'm going to talk to them."
"Say hi for me." The glowing eyed girl replied.
"From me as well." Masa added, the hedgehog nodding.
"Shadow! It's nice to see ya buddy!" Sonic smiled from his place sitting on wooden coffin...he looked no older than when he'd met the dark hedgehog.
"Agreed." Knuckles said, sitting on another coffin...she too looked much younger than she should.
"Femur and Masa say hello. However, I have a reason for coming. Today was the last day Femur will get a visitor from the outside...Fang has died." Shadow explained, causing the blue hedgehog and red echidna to look at one another. "He chose to be buried in the city."
"We figured that would be the case." The red fighter stated, sighing herself.
"Of course his family is doing what we tried to do..." The speedster gave a sigh as well. "That leaves her all alone..."
"She disagrees." The skater stated, causing the two to look at him. "She still has me." The two smiled at him thankfully.
"Thank you Shadow." They said.
"I'm going to return to Femur."
"Thank you." They repeated, nodding.
Shadow stopped in his approach of the shrine, seeing the guardian playing with the chocker around her neck. She was remembering the white bats that she'd spend so much time with, long gone as was her brother now. The rest of the presents were in a large hole in the shrine covered by a large rock, hiding them from the weather.
"She does this every now and then." Masa explained as he appeared once more beside him, the dark hedgehog nodding in understanding.
"I can hear you." Femur called, smiling sadly...she truly missed the bats. If it wasn't for them she'd have never gotten to see her brother and forgive her family, after all.
"Well you do." The green echidna pointed out.
"That I do." The hybrid agreed, gesturing for her trainer to come to the top of the shrine.
"So...what do we do now?" Femur questioned, moving her quill-like dreadlocks. She hadn't aged a bit since she'd met the earlier mentioned bats, still wearing the same clothes...they were quite worn though.
"I stay here with you." Shadow stated simply, sitting beside the guardian as her eyes widened.
"A-are you sure?" She asked, him nodding.
"If something happens to endanger the world I can always leave for a bit." The dark hedgehog pointed out.
"Or you could bring it here, let me give you a hand!" The undead girl winks, punching into her own hand with a small laugh. The anti-hero gave a small smile.
"That's what I'll do then." He agreed, causing her laugh to stop but a large smile to spread across her face.
"Hear that Masa, we'll get to have some fun!" The glowing eyed girl exclaimed, smile showing her sharp fangs.
"I heard." The purple eyed man stated, standing behind the two. "...It does sound like fun, getting to fight again. Use your powers." He granted after a moment, smiling himself.
"The three of us can take on anything!" The hybrid's smile somehow grew both wider and more sadistic...her charge vaguely wondered when she'd become such but shook his head and decided it didn't really matter. It had been far too long since she'd had a proper fight after all.
"Indeed."
Sorry it's so short, but this is it...the end of For a Masa. There's nothing more I have to write about this story, so sorry if you'd wanted it continued in some way. I'll be working entirely on A Hedgehog and A Hybrid from now on and my story on Noveljoy called The Tale of a Rogue and Hunter; if you want to read that there's a link to my page in my bio. Well...that's all I've got to say, so goodbye and I hope you all enjoyed!
