Chapter 7:

The first week flew by for everyone. Hermione was getting used to the head duties, while Harry and Ron were just trying to keep up with the seventh year work. Hermione and Bill were able to write a couple times but with both busy with their own jobs.

Bill,

I can't beleive how fast this week has past by. How have the students been treating you? I know a lot of the younger students have asked me for help. They were looking for this class or that.

How are you finding teaching? Is it anything like you thought? Am sorry that I haven't been able to speak with you outside of the class. Maybe we can get together once everything settles in. Hope your day treats you well.

Hermione,

I really like teaching, though it is nothing like curse breaking. The students are very good. They don't give me too much trouble. I think a lot of them still remember Fred and George. I don't know if that is a good thing or not. I know what you mean about not being able to get free time. I was wondering if you don't have anything to do on Tuesday night maybe we can go for a walk around the lake. We can chat and catch up then.

Hermione smiled reading the letter once more. She had read it fourty times in a matter of three days since she had gotten it. She couldn't wait to go for the walk. She really did like Bill, but she wouldn't admit just how much to Ginny. Ever since the summer vacation Ginny hadn't stopped trying to get the two together. Hermione and Ron had figured out quiet quickly that they weren't ment for each other. So now this was Ginny's chance to get Hermione as a true sister. Even if it was by law and not blood.

"So what are you wearing on your date with Bill?" Ginny asked as she entered. Hermione rolled her eyes and turned to look at her friend.

"Well I figured that since it is still a little warm I could wear my sun dress one more time." She told her best friend, pulling out a green short summer dress. She had white flats that she liked to wear with it.

"I think he will love it." Ginny said. Hermione went to her personal bathroom and changed quickly, when she came back out Ginny was reading the evening edition of the Daily Prophit.

"Anything worth reading in there." Hermione asked. Ginny just handed her the paper and pointed to one of the articles.

Death Toll Rising

It has been well known that in recent weeks there have been many suspicious deaths happening in Bulgaria. It has been suspected the few death eater that escaped the Battle of Hogwarts. Minister Shackleblot gave a statement today about the Ministries position on the topic.

"Not only is the Ministy sending Aurors over to help the Bulgarian's get this problem under control, but as a member of the Order of the Phoenix, I can say we are also going to help in any way we can. As we have been for many weeks. I am deeply saddened for the deaths that have already occured. Now we must do what we can to stop the people responsible and put them in jail. We will get a firm grip on this situation, and end it as fast as we can. Goodday." It was confirmed that sixty of Englands best Aurors were sent to Bulgaria this morning. Many people say this will leave us defenceless here at home. When we asked Auror Alastor Moody head of the DMLE he had this to say. "Over the last few months since the end of our war here in England, we have been building up our force. We do not want to be caught with out enough people again. One law that has been passed in the last few weeks is that there shall always be one hundred and fifty aurors, and when there is a war we will either double or triple the amount." With this we were wondering if they were expecting another war any time soon? When we asked Auror Moody this he had this to say. "No we do not expect any war. But with society these days you can not know. As I always say-Constint Vigulance." Keep reading for more information.

Hermione shook her head. She knew she had to get more information on all the spells so they could bring down the rest of the death eaters. She put the article out of her mind for the time being and finished getting ready for her walk with Bill.

Hermione met Bill in the hall by the main doors. He was carrying a large picnic basket. He smiled when he saw her walking down the main stair case.

"You look wonderful. I thought we could eat dinner next to the lake." Bill said holding up the basket.

"I think that is wonderful." Hermione said, they headed out of the castle and down toward the lake. They found a nice place right next to the water and under a tree. Although Proffesor McGonagall said it was fine as they were both of age. They just had to keep it off the students radar. Bill placed the blanket down on the ground and helped Hermione sit down.

"So how has your day gone so far?" Bill asked her.

"Slowest day so far. I finished all my homework yesterday and I had no other duties for once today. How about you?" Hermione replied.

"It has been a good one. I had some grading to do this morning. Other than that it has been slow till this evening." Bill told her. He pulled out the food and a couple of books.

"I brought a few books we can look over, they mention some spells with blood in them. I didn't think you would mind if we looked them over." Bill said with a sweet smile.

"Not at all. You know me well." Hermione said as she laughed a bit. Bill smiled at her.

"Lets eat and talk first." They sat by the lake till the sun started to go down. When it did they headed for Bill's office to read some more of the books.

"I think I found something." Hermione said showing Bill the passage.

Soul Swap Spell

The Soul Swap Spell was invented in late Sixteen hundred by a wizard who wanted to bring his wife back from the dead. It consists of a spell, sacrafice and potion. The person to be sacraficed will be the person to swap souls with the dead person. Also needed is a virgin's blood. As it is one of the most powerful potion ingrediants. This spell drains the person casting it. That is why medi-witches and wizards are needed around when it is cast.

The article went on to the potion. Bill read it over and looked in his book about the spell.

"I can't find that one in here. Heck I haven't ever heard of it. Hold on I want to get Severus here. He might know some about the potion part at least." Bill told her. He walked over to the fire place and called through it. Within minutes Proffesor Snape walked through.

"What can I do for the both of you?" He asked looking sceptical. Hermione showed him the page with the article on it. Snape looked over the article and raised his eyebrow.

"You beleive this is the spell that they will use?" Snape asked them.

"So far this is the only one that seems to fit. I just don't know who they would use for the sacrafice or the virgin." Hermione told them.

"I know of plenty of people who be the sacrafice, many of the people who were in the ranks of the Dark Lord would take his place. As for the virgin. That is the bigger part. I have read about this spell one other time, the virigin must be muggleborn. This is a later printing. In one of the earliest it is mentioned many times." Severus explained to them. "I believe this would be something worth while to report to the order at the next meeting." Severus continued.

"Minerva said that the next one was tomorrow night." Bill said.

"I will write up a report on what you have said and what is in the book. I will make sure it is ready for tomorrow night. If you have any more information let me know." Hermione said to everyone.

"I have a book, that I suppose I could allow you to borrow. It has one of the earliest copies of the spell and potion." Snape said. He went back to his room and collected the book. Once she had the book she head back to her room and started reading.

Soul Swap Spell

The Soul Swap Spell was created by Lord Harold Macoy in Sixteen-fourty two. He was well known for his work in spell creation and potions. When his wife of six years died during labor he came up with the idea of bringing people back. He spent the next six years experimenting with potions and spells, seperately and together. Finally after figuring out the sacrifice and the virgins blood he was finaly ready to bring his wife back. He tried twice to bring her back, on the third try he figured out what he was doing wrong. The sacrafice had to be a pureblood of the same gender and the virgin had to be a muggleborn.

The book went on to the incantation and to the potion. Hermione took notes for another few hours before heading to bed. When she woke she found three letters waiting for her on her desk.

I am sorry that last night did not turn out how it was supposed to. It was supposed to be more romantic. But I know how you like to reasearch. I am hopping I can make this up to you. Prehaps next Saturday I can take you to Hogsmead for lunch or dinner. Please let me know.

I hope your research is going well. We have been working hard here in Bulgaria. We have been able to catch one of the lower death eaters. Sorry to say he does not know much about the plan. We are hoping that he can at least get us in to some of the larger death eaters. Hope you are well.

Hermione smiled and got ready for the day. She only had a few classes that day and patrolling for a couple hours before dinner. She walked down to breakfast and headed straight for the teachers table.

"Thank you proffesor for letting me borrow this book. I have everything I need thank you." Hermione said as she handed Snape his book back.

"You do work fast Ms. Granger. Have a good day." Snape said taking the book. Hermione joined her friends at the Gryffindor table.

"What were you talking to Snape for?" Ron asked as he stuffed his mouth.

"It's Professor Snape Ron. You may not like him but you still have to respect him." Hermione told him putting things on her plate. Ron just shrugged and continued eating. "He was allowing me to read one of his books on potions." Ron rolled his eyes and shook his head. After breakfast each of the friends headed off to their own classes. Ron had Charms, Harry had a free period, and Hermione had advanced Potions. They didn't see each other till dinner.

"How was your day?" Harry asked as he sat down and joined his friends.

"Good. Lots of homework." Hermione said smiling. She was the only one who liked homework. Ron shook his head.

"Good, I got some extra sleep. Plus we had quiditch practice." Ron said chowing down on his dinner. Ron was finished dinner before everyone else was done.

"I think I am going to take another nap before the meeting." Ron said standing up. Hermione shook her head and waved goodbye to her friend. Harry stood also helping Ginny up.

"We are going to go flying." Harry told her. Hermione finnished her dinner then looked around wondering what she was going to do for a couple hours. Finally she decided to head to Bill's classroom and visit him. When she got there he was working on some papers.

"Hey how was your day?" Hermione asked as she walked in.

"Long, I gotta catch up on grading my papers. I think I have gotten behind some how." Bill told her.

"Want some company while you do it?" Hermione asked him.

"Sure hopefully it will make it go by a lot faster." Hermione sat across from him and pulled out her homework.

"So what classes do you have homework in today?" Bill asked looking over another one of his papers.

"I have potions and transfiguring. I have most of the transfiguring done. It is just the potion homework that I have to finish." Hermione said pulling out her potions book.

"What potion does he have you working on?" Bill asked looking at the book.

"Draught of the living Dead." Hermione said smiling. They sat silently working on their own things. After a while Hermione was done with her paper, she put her books and papers way and sat back watching Bill work on his grading.

"Are you having fun?" Bill asked not looking up. Hermione blushed at this.

"A little." She said smiling. Bill put his papers away and walked up to where Hermione was sitting.

"Would you like to go for a walk?" He asked sitting on the desk in front of her. Hermione nodded and stood up. She left her bookbag in his classroom and they headed out of the castle.

"So where do you want to walk to?" Bill asked as they exited the entrance hall. Hermione looked around and thought for a second.

"How about the bridge. I always liked the veiw from there." Hermione said smiling up at Bill. He nodded and lead the way there. Once there they talked about everything that had gone on thus far. They reached the bridge and looked out the whole veiw. It had taken a while to rebuild the whole bridge.

"So do you think this is the spell they are going to use?" Hermione asked as they got to talking about the research.

"I have no clue. It is hard to say. If it is we will have to work out a way to stop them." Bill said seriously.

"Well we will have to catch who ever is causing all this trouble over there." Hermione said smiling. Looking at the clock both Hermione and Bill noticed it was time to head for the Headmistresses office. They collected what they needed for the meeting and headed up to her office. When they arrived, everyone else had already arrived.

"A little late aren't we?" Moody said growling.

"Alastor, they are here on time. Just because you want to arrive an hour early, does not mean they are late." McGonagall said glaring at him.

"Fine, lets just get this meeting going." he said sitting in his chair. Everyone else found seats quickly and waited for McGonagall to start. They went over what was happening in Bulgaria at the moment and what they had found out so far. Then it was time for Bill and Hermione to report.

"Hermione and I have been searching through all of the books we could getting on our hands on. Of all the spells and potions that we could find only one stood out. It is the Soul Swap spell." Bill said standing in front of everyone.

"What do they need to do this spell?" Harry asked from where he sat next to Ron and Ginny.

"This is a mix between a spell and potion. For the potion you need a virgin muggleborns blood. For the spell you need the potion and a pureblood who is the same gender and is willing." Hermione explained.

"So there is nothing we can do on that end. There are plenty purebloods who would switch with Voldermort. And they could kidnap and take the blood from a muggleborn. So we have to stop them before they get what they need." Arthur Weasley said.

"Yes. Also if they attempt this they will need to have medi witches and wizards around as it drains a lot out of the person who casts it. Plus to check on the swap body." Bill said.

"I think we need to send a few more people over to help search and capture these rogue Death Eaters." Kingsley said finally making himself known.

"I agree with Kingsley, though I have this too say. I think it may be a little while before they try the spell. Knowing Malfoy the way I do, he will try to capture some one conected to the order and or Potter. They will want to hurt Harry as much as possible before they bring the Dark Lord back. So he has the best chance too win." Snape said. A lot of people started to look at Harry and Hermione quickly. Everyone knew Hermione would be their first choice as she was close to Harry and in the order. Though no one knew if she was a virgin, as she had had a few boy friends.
