Chapter 10

Hermione walked her patrol route and headed down to dinner where she found Ginny and Harry in their normal seats.

"Where is Ronald?" She asked sitting across from the couple.

"I don't know, I haven't seen him since this morning." Harry said looking up and down the table.

"I heard that he was hanging out with Lavender earlier. He may still be with her." Ginny said frowning.

"More like snogging than hanging out." Hermione told her friend rolling her eyes.

"He's not with Lavender, she is down the table with Romalde Vane and some of her friends." Harry said pointing down the table at the girls. They ate their dinner waiting for their friend who finally showed up halfway through the meal.

"Where have you been?" Harry asked as his friend sat next to him.

"Fell asleep." Ron said yawning as he filled his plate. Hermione and Harry both looked at each other, they could both tell that their friend was lying. They didn't push the topic though. They went through the rest of dinner talking about the homework that they all had. After dinner Harry, Ginny, and Hermione went up to the common room, while Ron said he was going to meet up with a girl. Up in the common room the trio worked on their homework and hung out.

"Where do you think Ron really was? I know he wasn't sleeping. I went up to the room before we went down to dinner." Harry said as he worked on his potions essay.

"I don't know but he has been acting weird." Ginny said.

"I will be right back I need to go get my charms book." Hermione said standing. Up in her room she found her book on her desk and a new letter on her bed.

Hermione,

Do you feel safe with your friends? Studying with them in the common room? I know you are not. I will get to you and them. Blood traitors and mudbloods alike will be gone from this earth soon enough.

Hermione ran back to the common room where she found Harry and Ginny still working on their homework.

"We need to go see Proffesor McGonagall now." She said quietly as she joined them.

"Why whats going on?" Ginny asked looking slightly worried.

"I got another letter. And this time I was not the only one to be threatened." She told them. They gathered their stuff and headed out of the common room. While they were on the stairs they came across Ron.

"Hey Harry, do you wanna go flying for a bit?" He asked looking at the three of them and giving Hermione the eye.

"Can't right now. Hermione, Ginny and I have to go see Proffesor McGonagall. Maybe later Ron." Harry told him.

"Why do you always hang out with her?" He asked Harry then turning to Hermione he said, "Why are you stealing my best friend?"

"She is not stealing anyone Ron. Where were you? I know you weren't meeting up with Lavender, I saw her in the common room with Dean." Ginny said glaring at her brother.

"I don't have to tell you anything. Your not my keeper Ginny." Ron told her.

"Are you going to come flying with me or stick with my sister and her?" Ron asked turning to Harry. Harry sighed and looked at the girls.

"Just go with him for now. I will make sure Hermione gets up to Proffesor McGonagall's office." Ginny told him. He nodded and followed Ron up to the common room to get their brooms.

Hermione and Ginny continued on to the headmistress' office.

"I can't believe the way Ron is acting. It is so not like him." Ginny said as they walked up the stair way.

"I think it has to do with me being around Bill so much. And that I like him and not Ron." Hermione told her. They knocked on the door and waited for their proffesor.

"Enter," came her voice. They walked in and found Bill, Proffesor Snape, and Proffesor Flitwick.

"What can we do for you two?" McGonagall asked them.

"I got another letter. And this time who ever is writing them didn't just threaten me. They threaten my friends too." Hermione said handing the letter over to her.

"Who was with you when this was found?" Snape asked when he saw the letter.

"Harry and I were." Ginny said.

"Where is Mr. Potter now?" Flitwick asked from his seat.

"He is with Ron. Ron wanted to go flying and Harry went with him." Hermione explained.

"You didn't think to bring both of them here?" Snape asked frowning.

"Ron has been acting weird lately, he accused me of keeping Harry away from him. So we let him go." Hermione said.

"Mr. Weasley please go and fetch your brother and and bring them here." Proffesor McGonagall directed her young colleage. Bill nodded and left the room. After about ten minutes a patrounus in the shape of a wolf came back.

'Proffesor, I am at the quidditch feild. I have found Ron and he is stunned. Harry is no where to be found. Ron's wand was next to him and I checked it, the last spell used was the stunning spell.' Bill's voice said. Hermione and Ginny's eyes both went big. All three proffesors and the girls ran as quickly as they could down to the feild. They found Bill talking to a tied up Ron.

"Where is he?" Snape asked the boy.

"I don't know. Last thing I remeber was yesterday morning. I got a letter from Lavender saying that she wanted to meet me in one of the empty class rooms. I went to the room and opened the door, then it all went black. At least till Bill woke me up and I was here." Ron said looking worried. Snape ran his wand over Ron looking for any sign of the spell that was used on him.

"There is no evidence of the impervious curse. There is how ever signs of another spell. Just one I haven't seen in a long time. We need to get back to my office so that I can create a potion that will tell us for sure." He told everyone.

"Take him back to your office. We will stay out here and see if there is any thing we can find. They can't have apperated him from here." Proffesor McGonagall told Snape. He lead a still tied up Ron away as other teachers came to join them on the feild.

"We split up into groups of two and look for any sign of Harry." McGonagall told the group that gathered. Ginny and Flitwick paired together as did Hermione and Bill. Both of their groups started for the forest. They split up when they came to Hagrids hut. Hermione and Bill headed in to forest, while Ginny and Flitwicked walked the edge.

"I should have known something was off with Ron. I have known him since first year." Hermione said as they entered the room.

"Who ever cursed him used our relationship to cover up the point. We both knew there was a chance that Ron would be jealous of us. There was no way to tell that he was under a spell." Bill said hugging her quickly. About half a mile in to the forest they came across two sets of footprints leading away from the school.

"This has to be them." Bill said looking at the prints.

"Who ever has Harry. These other prints are to big to be a girls." Hermione said joining him. Bill nodded and sent a patronous back to the rest of the searchers. After it was sent they started to follow the prints. When they had reached the the end of the trail and were outside Hogwarts anti aperation wards they found Harry's wand and a note.

Hermione and Proffesor Weasley,

By now you know that I have Harry Potter. I plan to present him to the Dark Lord when he is brought back. I also guess you have figured out that I used your blood traitor of a friend. He was too easy. So mad about you choosing his brother over him. When I sent the letter making him think that the whore Lavender Brown wanted to meet him it was all to easy. I must thank you, you made it all to easy. Soon I will have Ginny to, her and Proffesor Flitwick will be to easy to over take.

Hermione's eyes grew large and both she and Bill ran as fast as she could back to Hogwarts ground. They reached Hagrid's hut in just over ten minutes and Bill sent patronouses to both Flitwick and McGonagall to let them know what they had found out. Bill and Hermione started to run along the way that they had seen Ginny and Flitwick go when they split. Three quarters the way around Hogwarts grounds they found McGonagall standing over a stunned Flitwick.

"What happened?" Bill asked as they joined her.

"I got your patronous and headed this way. Just as I saw them a Death Eater stunned him and took Ms. Weasley by portkey." McGonagall said as she revieved her colleage.

"He came out of no where. He had to be using some spell to cover his voice. I have no clue who it was or where they went." He said.

"Everyone is to head back to the castle. I want all the students in their common room, then I want a head check done. Bill take Hermione back to my office and the both of you stay there. All proffesors to the great hall, heads of house do a head check then join us." McGonagall said. All the proffesors headed for the castle collecting any students who were out and about. Bill and Hermione ran hand in hand all the way back to the castle at the main doors they were stopped by head boy Colm Byrne.

"Proffesor Weasley what is going on? I saw all the teachers out side looking for something." he said frowning.

"Two students have gone missing and another was attacked. We need all of the students to go to their common room where they will be sealed in." Bill told him.

"Alright I will tell any one I come across. Is there anything else I can do to help?" Colm asked.

"No just tell all the students you can that they need to go to their common rooms and get to yours." Bill told them and started to pull Hermione with him.

"Bill, I know how we can tell if there are any students that are not in their common room. Harry still has the Muaraders Map." Hermione told him as they were about to pass the grand stair case.

"Do you know where it is?" Bill asked stopping.

"Yeah he always keeps it in the same place." Hermione said.

"I can bring her up there if you want proffesor, I was going to sweep those halls then head to Ravenclaw." Colm Byrne said from the top of the first stair case.

"Thats alright, I will check those halls and bring Hermione up there. You just go to your common room." Bill told the younger man. Bill and Hermione started to run up the stairs while they saw Colm head towards Ravenclaw. Bill and Hermione made it to Gryffindor tower in record time. As they were heading back down the empty stairs Bill fell forward down a flight of stairs and Hermione was stuck in place with a modifed stunning spell.

"You should have sent him on to the headmistress' office and gone on yourself. You made it all the easier to get you. If you had done what you were told then I would not have been able to get you." A voice said from behind her. After a moment, she felt the tug of a portkey.

Proffesor McGonagall entered her office expecting to find Hermione and Bill, but found no sign of them.

"Albus, did Hermione and Bill come here?" She asked the portrait behind her desk.

"No you are the first one here since you all left to go find Harry. Have you found him?" Albus asked looking worried.

"No he was taken, as was Ginny Weasley when we were all searching for him. I sent Hermione and Bill here so I knew she would be safe." McGonagall said. She called on all of the ghosts to search for the pair. Nearly Headless Nick was the first to come back to her office.

"Headmistress, I found William Weasley, he is on the stairs near the Gryffindor Common Room. He is unconsious and I can not wake him. I think he is badly hurt. It looks like he fell down some of the stairs. As for Hermione Granger, I could not find her anyway near him." He told her. Minerva shook her head and headed for the stairway.

"Find Madame Pomfrey and have her meet me where Mr. Weasley is. Find Proffesor Snape and tell him to bring Ronald Weasley to the infirmory. We will meet him there." McGonagall told the ghost and left the room. She hurried along and found Bill quickly. She cast a few charms to check on him. Madame Pomfrey joined her shortly and started working on the young man. After she had stablized him they brought him to the imfirmory where the found Snape and Ron.

"What happened to Bill?" Ron asked walking over to the bed they put him on.

"We don't know, but it looked like he was stunned and fell down some of the stairs. They were outside the Gryffindor Common room. Mr. Weasley do you know why they would have gone there if I told them to go to my office." McGonagall asked the younger Weasley.

"No I was with Proffesor Snape the whole time. How would I know why they went there? Have you found Harry?" He asked.

"No and who ever took Harry now has your sister." his head of house told him. Ron hung his head.

"What could those two have wanted that was in the Gryffindor tower that they would not do as you told them?" Snape asked McGonagall.

"Proffesor, can I ask where are all the other students?" Ron asked looking thoughtful.

"In the common rooms. I have everyone locked down. Why Mr. Weasley?" McGonagall said turning on the young man.

"Well if you sent everyone to the common rooms, they may have gone after the map. It can tell where all of the people in the castle are." Ron said. He didn't need to tell them which map he was talking about. All the teachers knew about the Muraders map after fifth year. Minerva looked in Bill's pockets and found the blank peice of paper. Ron waved his wand over it and said, "I solemly swear that I am up to no good." He looked a little sheepish as he said it. They brought it over to a table out of Madame Pomfreys way and looked it over. They only people moving around the halls were the teachers and ghosts.

"Everyone is in Slytherin. None of my students are missing." Snape said looking over the Slytherin Common Room.

"As are the Hufflepuffs. None of them are missing." Minerva added.

"The only ones missing from Gryffindor that I can see are Harry, Ginny and Hermione. I counted them all to be sure. And minusing me and the other three I got the right number." Ron said as he double checked the Gryffindor Common Room.

"That only leaves Ravenclaw, if it is a student that took them." Snape said as all three of them looked over the map.

A/N: So it has come. Hermione, Harry and Ginny have been taken. And Ron is back to normal. For those who thought he was the one sending the letters. Sorry but no. Keep guessing!
