Eggman's Base: Third Person

It was too close for comfort. He had almost been seen. Sharaku only allowed himself to relax once he was inside the base, he had heard something in the woods. Being defeated once before on such a grand scheme plan had sobered him up. The Marine Express Incident had been bent for failure anyways. Sharaku sighed in relief when the automatic sliding door closed.

He could not say that he agreed with the madman's tastes. Eggman had a habit of including a lot of lava and gold in his designs. Which was probably why his bases never exceeded one floor. Whatever material he had made the walls from was odd as well. The walls were a bright crimson, and the floor and ceiling were almost definitely made of obsidian covered with a smooth yellow chain-like barrier made from the more advanced technology of the world he came from. In fact, it was the only thing lighting the room. Each step Sharaku took made a wave like a disturbance made in shallow water. Eggman had informed him that this was a newly devised tracking system doubling as a lighting structure.

The waves would keep moving until they reached a wall, and from there, using all the points of contact that the waves had with the walls, the exact location of anyone could be known instantly in real time. He would never admit it, but even Sharaku was amazed at the complexity of the construction. If what Eggman had told him was correct, then it would be a shame when the blue creature would come to tear the ingenious structure to pieces, as he always did.

Sharaku walked steadily along the corridor to Eggman's main laboratory, admiring the intertwined structure with slightly envious admiration. He could use these ideas at a later date. He waited patiently for the sliding door to open. The nefarious doctor could be found working in front of a pod that had taken a startling likeness to Astro's sister. The robot had every feature of Zoran, with the exception of the blank eyes. Eggman had several of these pods "growing" robots of the same exact structure with all of Zoran's and some of Astro's battle data.

Each of these monstrosities were dressed in a red full-body suit that the doctor said could absorb the force of a sonic boom and most of Astro's heavy artillery. On the chest area of the suit was the android's creation code according to Eggman's twisted design. The androids also had black knee-high boots identical to Astro's and the white gloves that were so prominent in the world the doctor had come from.

Sharaku slumped exhaustedly into his own chair that he placed near Eggman's desk so he could see the blueprints as the doctor created them, suggesting changes where needed. Two minds were better than one; and two minds with an IQ of over 500 put together was an absolute terror to imagine. Eggman knew that Sharaku would not stay with him for much longer, and Sharaku knew that. Next time he was sent on a mission, he would have to abandon his plan. Joining up with the doctor had seemed like a good idea at first, but things were quickly getting out of hand.

The doctor was a madman, there was no other way to explain it. What Sharaku didn't know, was that Eggman knew that he was leaving as soon as he had received another order to go outside. The doctor planned to keep all information secret, so he just could not simply let him leave. After all those times I have been left to fend for myself because of my over-confident partners, finally, I am the one in control. I will make this one three-eyed freak pay for ALL the betrayals I have ever had! Eggman thought. "Sharaku, I am in need of stabilizer. This one just isn't cooperating. Could you go to the next room and get it?"

"Sure." Something felt odd about the way he said it. It sounded too eager. Sharaku walked out of the room and entered the next room. What are you planning, my twisted friend? Suspicious, Sharaku looked for several mirrors and pipes, and started to build. Meanwhile, Eggman chuckled as soon as the three-eyed one left the room. "Let's see just how smart you really are, you parietal punk." Suddenly, the hologram around the pod shut down to reveal what lay beneath the cloak.

The thing inside the pod WAS actually made of organic flesh, as Sharaku's third eye revealed to him, but what he didn't know was that Eggman would not have gone to all the trouble of making a robot into organic material. No, if Eggman was going to create a cyborg, it would have had to be organic from the start.

Eggman had researched Sharaku through the government databanks and uncovered much about him. Including the existence of another descendant. Eggman had cloned and artificially enhanced Moegi. Eggman shut off the pod, and the liquid drained from it, letting the figure gently float ti the bottom. The pod opened, and the clone opened her eyes. Eggman had nothing against her, so he only made one clone of her. The rest were exactly what they seemed to be: A vast army of Zoran androids. This one, though, was giving Moegi another chance at her goal upon her death: destroy everything. Eggman had simply 'persuaded' her to kill Sharaku first.
