This is the ninety-fourth chapter in the Pokemon Heroes story. Ash will be away from his friends for a while, so they are going to fend for themselves. Enjoy!

(Opening song)

They wanted to attack them when they least expect it. They continued following the kids through the forests, trying to find a place where they could attack them with ease without attracting their attention at all. They were just a bunch of kids, and without Ash, Riku and Lee could easily destroy them without them knowing, but they didn't.

"I'm getting bored now," said Lee as he stared out from on top of a tree looking out for Brendan and the others. "Why can't we just kill them? I know we have to keep that boy, so why not do an easy kill with the others?"

"Because it would be a bad idea to rush towards them," said Riku. "We have to be patient. I will say when we attack."

"But where the hell are they? I think we lost them."

"They're on their way," said Riku. Lee looked around, but didn't find them anywhere. He was about to tell Riku off, but he heard them off in the distance.

"Are Pokemon birds?" asked Drew. "I'm starting to wonder how they make eggs."

"We really don't have time for your stupid questions, Drew," said Brendan.

"If my Eevee had sex with a Beedrill, will it have an Eevee-Beedrill hybrid?" asked May.

"Thanks a lot, Drew," said Brendan, "you let May join the crazy train." They continued walking forward as Lee and Riku watched them. Lee looked at Riku.

"Now?"

"No," said Riku. "It isn't the right moment. We continue to follow them."

"Fine," said Lee as he stood up, "But you owe me a beer later on."

"Whatever," responded Riku, and they continued following.

Second Round

Ash fell to the ground. He groaned and sat up. Pikachu jumped out from behind the bush and ran towards its trainer to check if he was okay, and was relaxed when Ash nodded. Lnoki then walked out from the bushes as well and walked towards Ash.

"You have to slow down. You could get hurt."

"We're wasting a whole lot of time if we just walk to where we have to go," said Ash. "Why can't we just get to a close isolated area other than wandering through the forest for no reason?"

"I'm searching around the area," said Lnoki. "I don't want Pokemon to get hurt because of your explosive powers."

"Explosive?" asked Ash. "You're gonna make we destroy a section of the forest?"

"That's for you to decide," said Lnoki as he continued forward. Ash stood up and walked after Lnoki. After walking for a while, they got to a clearing. Lnoki placed his bag on the ground.

"We will train here for the time being," said Lnoki. "There aren't any Pokemon here, so it's safe."

"Alright," said Ash as he cracked his knuckles. "Let's get started."

"Get some rest," said Lnoki suddenly as he lied down in his sleeping bag.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Resting."

"Why?"

"Because I'm tired."

"We're here to train, not sleep."

"And I'm saying to sleep," said Lnoki as he closed his eyes. Ash sighed and sat down by a nearby rock. He looked up towards the sky.

"How long are we going to train?" asked Ash.

"When I decide that you are ready," responded Lnoki.

"And how long will that be?"

"When I say so," said Lnoki. "Stop pestering me and get some rest."

"I need to get back to them," said Ash. "I need to get back to May before anyone hurts her. There are a bunch of people going after her, and without me there-"

"Are you saying you don't trust your friends?" asked Lnoki as he opened one eye and turned towards Ash. Ash didn't respond. He couldn't really think of an answer.

"Do you think we should've just let them stay in Saffron until I come back?"

"Then it would take longer for us to head back to get them," said Lnoki. "It would take less time to travel at the same time and meet up somewhere else."

"Then why can't we start training now?!" yelled Ash. "We're wasting time just sitting here!" Lnoki sighed and sat up and looked at Ash sternly.

"You have no idea the type of training I'll be forcing you to go through," said Lnoki. "If you really think that we should start training now, I won't stop you. The reason I'm taking a damn break is because we have just been traveling since we left the others. We're taking a break. Just a day where we can just relax, and then tomorrow I'll be sending you through hell. Do you still want to be training now?"

"Yeah," mumbled Ash. Lnoki lied back down.

"Tell me, do you believe in your friends?" asked Lnoki.

"Of course I do."

"Then trust them to take care of the Princess while you're away," said Lnoki. "You trust them to fight with you against The Dark Signers, which is way too dangerous for a bunch of normal kids. Have faith in them. Worrying about them for too long will result in you having problems with your training. I swear to you that if something is going on with her, I'll know, and we'll rush towards them in seconds. Now will you just lie down and sleep for two seconds. You're training will start tomorrow. Your days of taking naps are over from now on." Lnoki shut his eyes. Ash sighed and looked back up at the sky, and then back at Lnoki.

"Fine, you basterd," thought Ash, and he stood up and went for his sleeping bag.

"So it's decided, we're all Pokemon," said Drew.

"How the hell did you come to that conclusion?" asked Dawn.

"It's called physics, Dawn," said Drew. "You really need to catch up, or else you're just gonna be left behind."

"It's no use trying to convince him," said Brendan as he placed his bag down. "He'll just try to counter it with some kind of stupid logic."

"Finally someone understands me," said Drew.

"I understand you," said May as she rose her hand up.

"I know you do, May, I know you do," said Drew. The kids had just exited the forest. They were on the outskirts of it. Outside the forest was just a plain grassy field. They still stayed near the forest for protective reasons.

"We have to stay out of sight from other people," said Brendan. "We should take a break and eat something. Drew, you stay here with the girls. I can't let them go in alone, and sending you out will result in you bringing nothing back. At least you're useful to protect them."

"I'm getting a lot of compliments today," said Drew.

"Watch over May, Dawn," said Brendan. "And be careful yourself."

"Alright," said Dawn. Brendan then walked out. Drew snapped his fingers.

"I think I've got it," said Drew. "What if all of us are Pokemon as our real bodies, but through our eyes, we see others as humans. So how am I supposed to know what Pokemon I am? It could be a life mystery."

"Then how can we see other Pokemon as Pokemon?" asked Dawn. "Shit. I've hopped aboard on their crazy stuff." Drew placed his fingers on his chin and thought, but then shrugged his shoulders and lied down.

"I don't know."

"What if those Pokemon have already found out the mystery of their life?" asked May, resulting in Drew sitting back up.

"Exactly!" yelled Drew. "I'm taking all the credit for that by the way." Dawn put her hand into a fist, but placed it back down.

"Please get here before I murder Drew in front of May," thought Dawn. As May and Drew continued to talk about different theories, Riku and Lee watched them from a tree near them.

"What if we all are Pokemon?" asked Lee. "Would you be a Magikarp?"

"Don't follow in their conversations," said Riku. "The boy has gone into the forest. This is our chance to take him. Let's go."

"But those kids are right there," said Lee as he focused his binoculars on May. "Damn she looks amazingly cute. Why would Giovanni want to kill her? He should take her in as his slave if you know what I mean."

"Stop wasting time," said Riku. "Let's go."

"But they're right there," said Lee. "Can we just kill them quickly, take a photo, and then go after the kid."

"They're not weak," said Riku. "You'll make them cause a ruckus and then the boy will notice and come back to them."

"Then let's do it quickly."

"What don't you understand?"

"What don't you understand about the type of money that man is planning to give us?" asked Lee. Riku just face-palmed and looked back at Lee.

"Fine," said Riku, "but I will not be wasting any time at all sitting here waiting for you to kill them. You go and kill them while I go after the other kid."

"Finally you understand," said Lee. "Don't screw up." Riku then jumped ahead. Lee prepared to jump off the tree.

"How do you explain birth, huh?" asked Dawn. "You know we don't come out as eggs, right?"

"Oh Dawn, Dawn, Dawn," said Drew. "That's very simple to answer. Birth is just a figment of our imagination inside our eggs." Lee stopped and sat back down on the branch he was on.

"I've gotta hear this," thought Lee.

Brendan pulled down a branch and looked at it. He pushed it back up and looked through the other branches.

"What the hell?" asked Brendan. "There has to be at least some fruit in this forest if Pokemon are in it. Does this forest even have Pokemon in it?" He looked at another branch, and finally found an Oran Berry on it. He smiled and pulled it out.

"This'll do," said Brendan, and he took it and looked around it.

"Idiot."

Brendan immediately turned around. He didn't see anybody. He started to calm down and continued looking for fruit, but he felt weird. His sixth sense turned on, and he quickly moved backwards, and Riku came down hard on the ground with a huge steel fist slamming into the ground, creating cracks. Brendan looked at him wide-eyed, and then regained himself.

"W-Why the hell are you here?" asked Brendan.

"Shut up and sit still," said Riku, and he quickly stood and swung his leg towards Brendan, connecting Brendan's stomach and Riku's knee, sending the boy towards a tree. He slid down the tree, and then he quickly jumped out of the way when Riku came back and drilled his fist through the tree, knocking it towards the ground. The gears on his arms stopped and he looked at Brendan.

"You seriously survived that?" asked Riku. "I've given damage to a lot of people I do that to."

"What do you want from me?" asked Brendan as he slowly reached for his Pokeballs. Riku walked towards him and pointed towards his hair. Brendan touched his hair and glared at it.

"You wanna know how to get white hair?" asked Brendan. "I don't know, idiot!"

"Stop pretending like you don't know," said Riku, and he charged towards Brendan to knock him out, but Brendan got out of the way and threw his Pokeball, releasing Pelipper.

"Mist, now!" ordered Brendan, and Pelipper created a cloud around them. The mist cleared out, and Riku didn't see Brendan or Pelipper. He looked towards the sky and saw them leaving. He whistled.

"He must not be new at these types of things," said Riku, and he chased after him.

Lee just sat on the tree, listening to the kids talk about shit. For a moment, he forgot what he should be doing.

"Am I a Sudowoodo?" thought Lee. "Hell no. I bet I'm a fucking Dialga. Yeah, a Dialga."

"What about a Magikarp?" asked May, since Dawn got pushed out of the conversation at some point, and she was lying on the ground. "Who do you think is a Magikarp?"

"I don't know, but you know what I think I am?" asked Drew. "I bet I'm a stinking Palkia. I'll kick the ass of whoever is Dialga." Lee's eyes widened.

"How dare you?!" yelled Lee, and he jumped out of the tree and right in the middle of Drew of the girls, and then he looked Drew dead in the eyes.

"Don't fuck with Dialga, bitch!" yelled Lee, and he immediately kicked Drew towards the trees. Dawn was about to react, but then Lee pushed her back down to the ground. He took off his glove and his nails grew and he went towards Dawn's head, but Dawn moved her head aside before she got hit.

"Stop playing," said Lee, and he threw off his other glove and threw his hand towards Dawn again with his nails extended, but his arm was stopped when May took it in her arms.

"Stop it!" yelled May. Lee smirked and pushed May to the ground. He turned his attention back at Dawn, but felt something and jumped up, with a bunch of strong winds going past him and Dawn.

"It's you again!" yelled Drew. "And what do you want this time?"

"Your heads," said Lee, and he charged towards Drew, but was kicked towards the ground by May's Combusken. Dawn quickly looked at her Pokewatch, and she started typing in Brendan's number, but suddenly it was snatched from her own wrist by Lee.

"No, no girly," said Lee. "I was supposed to kill you kids within a minute, but now you're just causing problems for me dickheads."

"Combusken, use Flamethrower!" ordered May, and her Combusken did its attack and launched its attack towards Lee, but ducked, giving Drew the chance to run to Lee's arm and quickly take the watch and move away.

"Drew, call Brendan," said Dawn. "Tell him to get over here!"

"Alright," said Drew, and he turned the Pokewatch on, but then stopped and looked back at Dawn. "What's Brendan's number?" As soon as he said that, Brendan descended down by Drew.

"There you are," said Drew.

"Yeah, whatever," said Brendan as he got off Pelipper. "We've got to get out of here, like, right now." He looked towards Dawn, and then he saw Lee standing there right in front of him. Lee turned around to look at Brendan, making the boy freeze. Lee smirked.

"And I thought Riku was taking care of you," said Lee. "Can't wait to rub this in his face now. I'll just end this myself." He swiftly ran towards Brendan and took him by the collar and pushed him against a tree and raised his hand with his extended nails.

"Don't worry, I won't kill you," said Lee. "I'm just gonna make you feel some pain." Brendan didn't do anything. He stared into Lee's eyes in fear. He couldn't even move or stop Lee from killing him. He just looked into the man's eyes, those eyes that stood in front of that burning house.

"Get away from him!" yelled Dawn, and she charged at Lee and bit his arm. He yelled in pain and punched the girl back down to the ground. Brendan finally was paying attention to his surroundings and saw Dawn on the ground with her hand on her face.

"Dawn?" asked Brendan.

"Combusken, use Uppercut!" ordered May, but Combusken was stopped and was thrown into the air and crashed into a tree away from them. Riku stood next to May, who looked up at him in fear.

"May!" yelled Drew, and he charged towards Riku, but the gears started moving again in his arm, and it repeatedly punched Drew over and over again in one hit. He flew towards the ground and held his stomach as he coughed. Absol and Pelipper tried hitting Riku together, but were easily smacked away.

"Weren't you supposed to kill these kids before I came back?" asked Riku.

"Weren't you supposed to kill this boy?" asked Lee, and he threw Brendan to the ground. "How about I just crush his head right now?"

"No," said Riku. "I need him alive. He's not easy to capture though. How about we try this instead?" Riku reached down and took May by the back of her collar and lifted her in the air and turned to Brendan.

"How about we do a trade?" asked Riku. "You come towards us, and we let this girl go. If you do not cooperate, then I will shake this girl like she's a fucking doll. Her fragile little body will easily break apart. Do you really want to see that in front of you? Don't worry, we won't hurt you. Not at the moment."

"If you even think about that, Ash will murder you, and I'll tell him to do it," said May.

"He's not here idiot," said Lee. "Also, how the hell can you tell him when you're destroyed?"

"Come on kid," said Riku. "What do you say?" Brendan just stared at them. He didn't know what he even should be saying. He just blankly stared at them. After a few minutes, Riku shook his head.

"Well?" asked Riku. "Is it your life or hers?"

"Don't worry, Brendan," said Dawn. "We'll find another way. Don't go with them. Maybe..."

"Maybe what?" asked Lee. "We've got you all where we want you. Do you really think you'll stand a chance against us at all? Your friend really shouldn't have left you. He's an idiot for doing so."

"Aura Guardian, huh?" said Riku. "He shouldn't he even calling himself that."

"DON'T TALK SHIT ABOUT ASH!" yelled May. "DON'T YOU DARE TALK SHIT ABOUT ASH! HE'S THE BEST DAMN AURA GUARDIAN YOU'LL EVER SEE IN YOUR LIFE!" Riku pulled her closer and looked straight into her eyes.

"His father would be disappointed in him," said Riku.

"WHEN YOUR PRINCESS TELLS YOU SOMETHING, YOU FUCKING OBEY!" yelled Drew as he punched Riku across the face. The man stumbled backwards and dropped May, which Drew caught.

"Brendan," said Drew as he gently let May down and turned towards the boy. "Stand the fuck up. There's no time to just be sitting back and relaxing. This basterd is trying to kill us. I don't know what you have against him, but get the fuck over it already."

"But they..."

"I don't give a damn on what they did!" yelled Drew. Riku regained himself and held his jaw, and looked fiercely at Drew.

"Damn kid!" yelled Riku, and the gears moved in his arms again and he hit the boy across the face, repeatedly hitting him, and Drew went towards the ground, groaning in pain. He looked fiercely at Brendan.

"I warned you," said Riku. "I gave you a choice." He went towards May and his gears starting moving again, but was stopped when Drew suddenly jumped on his back and distracted him so he missed May.

"Get the fuck off me!" yelled Riku.

"Brendan, do something!" yelled Drew. "You promised to protect May, right?" You promised Ash. You said you'd protect us for him! Live up to that promise, now!" Brendan finally snapped out of it, and he grew fierce.

"Lee, get this kid off me!" said Riku. Lee, who was just enjoying the show, looked at Riku.

"Aye!" said Lee, and he ran towards Drew to cut him. Brendan quickly took out two Pokeballs and released Aggron and Mightyena.

"Aggron, use Hyper Beam on that guy!" yelled Brendan, and it shot towards Lee, but he got out of the way before it hit him.

"You're finally standing up to us, huh?" asked Lee. "I never thought I'd see the day." Brendan looked around and saw Dawn and May. He looked at Drew and nodded.

"Get out of the way, Drew," said Brendan.

"No," said Drew. "Do whatever you need to do. Now!" Brendan thought, and then nodded.

"Aggron and Mightyena, use Hyper Beam and Shadow Pulse respectively in front of those guys while Pelipper, I want you to use Mist." Aggron and Mightyena used their attacks, blinding the opponent with a cloud of dust that appeared in front of them. Pelipper did what it was supposed to do and created a mist so powerful no one could see.

"Follow me, girls!" said Brendan, and they ran off together with Brendan's and May's Pokemon following. Through the mist, Brendan saw a humanoid body heading towards them.

"Aggron, one more Hyper Beam!" yelled Brendan, and it shot at the human, who got a direct hit and was thrown through the air.

"Fuck you, Brendan!" yelled Drew.

"Oh shit, that was Drew?" said Brendan.

"What's wrong?" asked Dawn.

"Nothing," said Brendan. "Let's go!" He took them and they ran off. Lee and Riku saw them on top of a tree.

"Damn kids," said Lee. "Wanna go after them?"

"No," said Riku. "I thought they were just some kids, but they are very smart. We have to be careful with them. I understand Giovanni's intentions now. Let's go. Another day." They then left.

The kids kept on running. They didn't want to stop. Brendan kept looking back, but saw no one. They then stopped by some bushes and sat down, taking in some air. May looked around.

"Where's Drew?" asked May.

"He's off somewhere," said Brendan. "Don't worry. He'll be okay."

"Yeah, he's got my Pokewatch," said Dawn. "We'll just call him." She looked over the bush, and still didn't see anyone.

"You think they're gone?" asked Dawn.

"For now maybe," said Brendan. "They'll come after us again. We'll have to be even more careful now."

"What are we going to do?" asked May. "Ash and Drew aren't here now. Now what?"

"Don't worry at all," said Brendan. "I'll protect you two. I know them. Ash can take his time for now."

"Are you sure you can take care of them alone?" asked Dawn. "They're pretty strong."

"I know," said Brendan as he looked to the sky angrily. "I'll make sure they don't hurt you guys. I'll make sure they don't hurt anybody anymore, ever again. I swear."

Drew groaned as he rubbed his head. He fell to the ground and continued groaning. He was on some bushes. He heard footsteps heading towards him. He shook his head to make him get out of his dazed self, but he couldn't. The footsteps got closer, and he knew that they were above his fallen body now.

"No fucking way."

"He can do amazing things, can he?"

"And he's beaten up. He ditched them, didn't he? I knew I shouldn't trust him with them."

"Is he okay?"

"Looks beaten up. Maybe he got attacked by some wild Pokemon. Yo, wake up." The person started lightly tapping Drew's cheek. Drew forced his eyes to open a little bit, and he finally saw who stood in front of him.

"Yo Drew, you okay?" asked Ash bent down by him with Lnoki by his side.

(Ending song)

Next Time on Pokemon Heroes:Another plain mission for Gary, who has been sent out by Sephiroth to acquire an item. It was supposed to be an easy one, but now Team Rocket is getting into it as well, and the only way for Gary to complete his mission is by getting through Team Rocket first. What is Team Rocket after, and how will Gary deal with them this time? Next Time: Gary and Team Rocket 2.

That was that chapter. First thing's first, this was just a normal late update this time (the usual I wasn't able to finish it in time thing). Next chapter will be mostly be focused around Gary, but also include Brendan and Ash's group as well, as well why Drew suddenly came across Ash and Lnoki who was supposed to be somewhere else. Next chapter will come out Monday (I really hope it gets posted on Monday this time on its usual time). See you next chapter!

Read and Review please :-)
