This is the ninety-fifth chapter in the Pokemon Heroes story. Gary will be the main focus in this chapter, with a little Ash and his friends in it as well. Enjoy!

(Opening song)

It was a nice, warm, sunny day on the path, and the chirping of Starlys and Pidgeys were heard in the distance. Gary walked along this path. The sun shone through from the trees. Any person who had a little bit of sense in their brains would've taken a nap and slept in the sunlight, but not Gary. Gary was on a mission. A mission he was given by Sephiroth.

"That man really wants what he wants," thought Gary. "Why would he want that thing for?"

Flashback

"You want me to retrieve a key for you?" asked Gary. "And what does this key even do?"

"This key helps someone get access into the Distortion World," explained Sephiroth. "I must have it before The Dark Signers are able to get it first. Getting Girantina would become a huge problem for the world, would it?" Gary nodded and stood up and started walking out. Misty, who was next to him while he talked with Sephiroth, stood up as well.

"You want me to come?" asked Misty.

"No," said Gary. "Having you on missions with me is just a waste of my time. Just stay here and continue making tea." Misty puffed her cheeks as Gary left the cabin.

End of Flashback

Gary looked up towards the sky. As he walked, he stopped, and then looked forward. He heard cars. He sighed.

"Let me just get this over with," thought Gary, and he kept walking.

Gary and Team Rocket 2

Jessie, James, and Meowth walked into Giovanni's room. Giovanni sat at his desk, with his fingers continuously tapping against the desk. The trio stood there in silence, watching as their boss said nothing. Finally he stopped, and he looked towards the trio.

"Is there a mission you would like us to go, father?" asked James.

"Yes," said Giovanni. "Those bounty hunters are wasting my time. I should just forgot about them and continue on with my plans. I need you guys to head towards a city by the coordinates I will send you. There is a university there that I would like for you to steal the research and documents from it. Those documents will help us in our future plans."

"An easy task, boss," said Meowth.

"And you say that now," mumbled Giovanni. "Make sure no one stops you, especially those groups of kids."

"There is a very small chance that our paths will cross in a random city," said Jesse. "We'll immediately take control of the university and return within a day or two."

"I expect an accomplished mission," said Giovanni. The trio nodded and headed out of the room. Giovanni turned his chair so that he could see outside, and he grew stern.

"That's what they say before those kids come into the picture," thought Giovanni.

The city was just a normal city. Gary had forgotten about its name though, but that didn't matter right now. Right now, Gary wanted to just get what he wanted and then leave. He didn't want to get into any trouble, nor did he want to get into any fights. He was looking for the university. As he walked, he passed by a snack stand. He walked towards it.

"Excuse me, but where is this city's university?" asked Gary. The man looked up from his newspaper that he was reading from.

"This city's university?" asked the man, and he looked around. "It's at the edge of the city near the bridge, so I'm going to say that it's towards this direction." Gary looked at the direction the man's finger was pointing to. He looked back at the man and bowed.

"Thank you," said Gary, and he continued walking on, but stopped. The city grew quiet for some reason. He then heard a buzzing sound. He slowly reached for his sword that was strapped to his back.

"That's the sound of helicopters," thought Gary. "The hell is these people getting all scared for?" He relaxed and looked up, and his eye twitched. Six helicopters flew through the air. On the side of them were the initials TR. The man at the fruit booth looked up.

"They just love making themselves known," said the man, and he looked at Gary. "Yo kid. Get to safety. They might just be passing by." Gary looked in the direction they were going, and noticed that they were going towards the university.

"Yo kid!" yelled the man. "Come in here with me!"

"Dicks," thought Gary. "There is always something that screws up my missions." Gary immediately started running.

"KID!"

"Fuck off old man!" yelled Gary. He continued running. He wasn't just going to let a damn evil organization ruin his mission. He's still got so much to do until he can finally accomplish his own mission.

"Idiot," said Ash as he gave Drew an ice pack. "You're pretty beaten up there. You look like you got a fist to the face."

"I did not," said Drew.

"Then what happened to you?"

"Simple," said Drew. "I...I...um...I don't remember."

"What the fuck do you mean you don't know?" asked Ash. "You were supposed to be with the others. Do you realize how much trouble Brendan and the girls are in right now? Brendan can't take care of two girls. It's impossible."

"I know, I know," said Drew.

"Do you know if they're okay?" asked Lnoki.

"Yeah, they're okay," said Drew. "I remember them running."

"Running from what?" asked Ash.

"Running from something," said Drew. "I think I was left behind. But I know they're okay. We must've gotten attacked by some wild Pokemon." Drew felt his pockets, and then pulled out Dawn's Pokewatch."

"That's Dawn's!" yelled Ash, and he snatched it from Drew's hand. He turned it on, and immediately went through her phonebook to look for Brendan's number. As soon as he found it, he pressed it. The phone started ringing.

"I'm sorry, but the number you are trying to call is either disconnected or the Pokewatch is turned off," said the voicemail on the Pokewatch. Ash turned it off and sighed.

"Now I know something's wrong," said Ash, and he looked at Lnoki. "We have to head back now. They might be in trouble." Lnoki places his finger on his chin. He looked back at Ash.

"Do you feel anything?" asked Lnoki. "You told me you could feel what May was feeling, so is she afraid or worried."

"I feel something, but it doesn't feel like she's scared," said Ash.

"She's fine," said Drew. "I remember them getting away. She's not hurt at all."

"But if you were with those kids, why the hell are you here?" asked Lnoki.

"This means that they're close by," said Ash. "We're in the same forest right now. It wouldn't mess with any of my training. We'll just see them and come back." Lnoki thought, and then nodded.

"You're right," said Lnoki. "Let's go search for them."

"They broke my Pokewatch," said Brendan as he tapped his Pokewatch. Dawn took his hand and looked at the Pokewatch.

"Yup, it's broken," said Dawn. They were near a river. May looked around, just in case Drew would be running towards them at any time, but he wasn't anywhere. May looked at her friends worriedly.

"I think we should head back for him," said May.

"We don't have to think too deeply about him," said Dawn. "He should be running back to us at some point. If they captured him, he would find his way through it. Also he has my Pokewatch. He can possibly call us."

"But Brendan's Pokewatch is broken," said May.

"You're right," said Brendan, and he gave a warm smile to May. "He'll be just fine. If he is in trouble, I promise to you I'll get him back as soon as I get this fixed, okay?" May stared at him, and then looked to the ground.

"It makes me worry more hearing that from you."

The police of the small city blocked the way for anyone to get towards the university. Gary had to sneak through the police to get towards the university. When he got there, what he saw made him face-palm. Team Rocket was surrounding the whole university. Police cars were also around it. By the looks of the situation, Team Rocket had taken people hostage in the university. Team Rocket's helicopters still flew in the air. Gary was able to deduce that Team Rocket must've come into the city before those helicopters, and they took over the university while backup came.

"Wasn't this supposed to be an easy one?" thought Gary. He prepared to come out, but then he saw the Team Rocket trio head towards the roof and look down at the police. Jesse took out a megaphone.

"We don't want any trouble darlings," said Jesse. "We have just come for something. We'll be on our way soon. But if you even think about bothering us while we're doing our thing, we'll kill every single hostage in here. Good day." They walked back in. Gary already knew that the police was going to risk it.

"Idiots," thought Gary. "Here for something, huh? They must be after that key. I just wanted to complete this shit, and these basterds decide that they will get in the way. That's not going to happen." He took out his sword and ran towards the back of the building. The police was all around the building, so trying to sneak past them was a waste of time. As he got closer, the police noticed him coming.

"Wait!" yelled the policeman, but Gary just jumped over him and kept on running, ignoring the police as they chased after him. The back of the building was unguarded by Team Rocket, so it should be easy just to get in there and leave. He didn't give a damn about the hostages. His mission was more important at the moment. He quickly bust down the door and ran into the building.

Team Rocket was everywhere, so it was hard trying to sneak around. Gary easily just knocked out Team Rocket grunts that noticed or was in his way. Sephiroth already gave him a whole map of the building, so he knew where he was going. The key was hidden in the building's lowest level. He just had to find the door that led to the basement. He found the door, but was shocked when he found that Team Rocket had already found their way downstairs first.

"Fuck," he muttered. Three grunts stood in front of the doorway, and the only way to get through was to get past them first. He looked around and saw a railing on the ceiling. He jumped off the wall and grabbed onto it. He put his body close to the ceiling and slowly crawled towards them. They were just talking about random stuff. When he got close enough, he jumped down and elbowed one. Before the other two called for help or grabbed him, he quickly took the first guy and slammed him against the other two, who fell towards the ground. He slammed his foot on the second guy's stomach, knocking him out. The third guy got scared and tried calling for backup, but Gary went on top of him and continuously punched the man's face over and over again. When he was knocked out, Gary stood up and looked at his fist, which had blood on it. He stared at it, and then slowly walked downstairs.

It was quiet. Gary easily took the elevator towards the bottom level of the building. He got to the lowest level, which was about five floors below the first floor. He got out. At the bottom floor, he saw that the place was already lit. It was a large room that had a podium in the middle. No one was there. He looked back into the elevator and noticed that the bottom he pressed to get down here had a sign near it saying that it wasn't working. Team Rocket must've forced the staff to unlock it. He walked out and went towards the podium. He clenched his teeth when he saw the key that was supposed to be placed on top not there.

"Didn't we say that the police aren't supposed to be here," said Meowth. Gary turned and saw the trio standing behind him. They must've been waiting for him in the shadows.

"We heard about you from the grunt on guard," said Jesse.

"So that basterd told you guys before I knocked him out," said Gary. "Where's the key?"

"Right here," said James as he took out the key from his pocket.

"Hand it over to me right now!" yelled Gary as he turned around towards the trio and prepared to remove his sword. When Team Rocket saw his face, they froze.

"You're that kid from before!" yelled Meowth.

"Back in Snowpoint," said James.

"We've always wanted to take care of you, and now we'll be able to get our revenge," said Jesse. "Meowth, now!" Meowth nodded and took out a remote and pressed the button on it. He threw the remote on the ground, and it started to form into something else. It rose so high towards the ceiling. It formed into a buff, mecha robot, with a huge TR on its breastplate. Jessie, James, and Meowth hopped in, and its body bent down to look at Gary.

"Tell us boy, do you ever feel fear?" asked Jessie.

"Strange, I was about to ask the same thing," said Gary as he reached for his Pokeballs. "Pretty lame robot you've got there though. Watch Transformers?"

"Kill him now!" ordered Jessie. The robot raised its arms and aimed at Gary. Three sockets on each arm rose up, and they shot missiles straight at Gary. The boy swiftly dodged them, and they exploded on impact with the ground.

"I told them to give us homing missiles!" yelled Meowth, and he shot out another wave of missiles at Gary, who once against dodged them with ease. The room started shaking.

"Staying this low underground is dangerous," thought Gary. "I have to finish this quickly." He threw his two Pokeballs and out came Blastoise and Umbreon.

"Blastoise, Umbreon, do whatever you can to bring that thing down!" ordered Gary. Blastoise and Umbreon nodded. Blastoise took out its cannons and shot a hydro pump towards the robot's legs. Umbreon used Shadow Balls to try and break the legs, but they all seemed futile. Team Rocket laughed.

"Fool," said James. "Do you believe we really would've not come prepared just in case Pokemon attacks take us down? Our robot is resistant to all Pokemon attacks, so you're just wasting your time."

"Can it guard against human attacks then?" asked Gary as he jumped on Blastoise, which thrust him upwards towards Team Rocket. He landed on the windshield and took out his sword and slammed it against the windshield, but it did no effect, nor did it even leave a scratch.

"There's a bug on our windshield," said Meowth as he made the robot take Gary in its hand. It then threw Gary across the room. He hit the wall and fell to the ground. Umbreon walked by him.

"Basterds," said Gary as he forced himself to stand up with the help of his sword. "Now you're just asking for me to rip off your heads one by one."

"I dare you to try," taunted Meowth. Gary turned towards his Pokemon and nodded. The Pokemon nodded as well and continued doing their attacks as Gary sat down and focused.

"What is he doing?" asked Jessie. "This motherfucker better not even be thinking about taking a break while we're talking to him." They moved the robot's arms toward Gary, but Umbreon knocked it aside with its iron tail.

"Damn thing," said James, and he made the robot take Umbreon in its hand. Blastoise continued hitting the robot with hydro pump, but the robot ignored it. They moved Umbreon towards the windshield to look at it.

"Powerless now, aren't you?" mocked Meowth. He noticed at the corner of his eye a bolt of electricity. They moved Umbreon aside and looked down at Gary, who was surrounded by bolts of electricity that exited his body. Team Rocket just stared at him in awe. He looked sternly at them, and turned to Blastoise to motion for it to back away.

"I'm going to have fun doing this," said Gary, and at the speed of thunder, he raced towards Team Rocket's mecha and went through its chest. The electricity inside the mecha started to go haywire, and the mecha immediately exploded. As it exploded, in a split second, James, who had the key in his hand, noticed at the corner of his eye Gary come towards him and take the key from his hand. Gary also had Umbreon as well. After that, a huge explosion upwards created holes all the way to the top of the building. The trio was nowhere to be found. They must've gone with the explosion. Gary and Umbreon took cover by Blastoise. He looked at the key in his hand and smirked.

"Mission accomplished," said Gary. He nodded at his Pokemon and returned them. He released Skarmory and hopped on its back.

"Let's go."

It flew him upwards through the holes. He got to the roof, but Skarmory stopped. Over the building were helicopters of the police, looking down at him.

"Put your hands in the air," said a policeman in the helicopter. "You're coming with us for questions." Gary looked down and saw that the crowd of police wasn't there anymore, and instead there was a crowd of hostages. Gary deduced that the police actually found a way to save them.

"Impressive," thought Gary, and he made Skarmory land on the roof and returned it. He put his hands up. The helicopters descended to him, but suddenly a Pidgeot came down and took Gary. Gary hopped on its back and looked back at the helicopters and smirked at the astonished police. He looked ahead of him and saw Misty riding on Pidgeot.

"Bet you wish I came with you now, huh?" asked Misty.

"Thanks," said Gary. This made Misty immediately blush, and she tried not to show it to Gary.

"N-No problem."

After packing up their things, Ash and Lnoki prepared to leave their training spot to go look for Ash's friends. They helped Drew heal up before heading out as well.

"We'll be back as soon as we check up on them," said Lnoki. Ash nodded, and they headed out. After walking for a few minutes, Drew stopped and turned the other way.

"I think it's time for me to be on my way" said Drew. "Hope you find those guys. I don't want them getting hurt or anything." Ash stopped and looked at Drew for a few seconds, and then shrugged.

"Alright, see ya," said Ash, and he walked ahead. Lnoki looked at him and followed. Drew nodded and started walking away as well. After just three steps, he stopped and turned back to them and saw them going. He placed his hand on his head.

"I feel like I should be remembering something," said Drew.

"You sure it's safe to just let him go out again after what happened?" asked Lnoki. "It would be smarter to keep him with us other than letting him go."

"Quiet and just wait," said Ash. They continued walking, but they both stopped and turned back, and there was Drew behind them. He laughed nervously and scratched the back of his head.

"Sorry, I just don't know where I am, and since the others might be in trouble, I just thought that maybe I should join you guys," said Drew. Ash shrugged.

"Seems legit," said Ash. "Let's go."

After being in hiding for a while, Brendan, Dawn, and May decided that they should keep going.

"Being in a city or town would be safer than standing out in the wide open for them to come after us," said Brendan. "Let's just head towards the next place." He opened the map and looked to see where they were going next.

"We're going to Olivine City."

"Great," said Dawn. "That place has a Poketech Station. We can get your Pokewatch fixed there and find where Drew is."

"That would be great," said Brendan. "Let's go." He looked down at May, and still saw her being worried.

"He's fine," said Brendan. "We'll find him. Don't worry." May looked up at Brendan and nodded.

"Fine," said May. She stood up and they headed out.

Gary and Misty walked into the room where Sephiroth was in. He was looking out the window, and turned to Gary.

"Do you have it?" asked Sephiroth.

"Easy job," said Gary, and he took the key from his pocket and threw it at Sephiroth, who took it and examined it. He smiled and gave Gary and approving look.

"You've done well, Gary," said Sephiroth. "This is you're fourth mission that you've accomplished. You're getting stronger every day. I'll inform you when I'll give you another mission. For now, just go and take a break." Gary nodded and proceeded to walk out, but stopped.

"Something's wrong?"

"I've been thinking for a while," said Gary as he turned back to Sephiroth. "You said you're collecting these items so The Dark Signers don't get their hands on them, but I feel like there's something else you're not telling me. What do you plan to do with them later on?" Sephiroth stared at him, and chuckled.

"In due time, Gary, in due time," said Sephiroth. "Everything will make sense to you very soon. I promise." Gary stood there for a while, and then bowed and walked out. Sephiroth turned to Misty.

"Go watch over him," said Sephiroth. "You're also on break."

"Thank you, uncle," said Misty, and she walked out. When he made sure they left, Sephiroth took another look at the key in his hand, and he turned his face towards outside and smirked once again.

"Yes Gary, everything will make sense very soon," he thought. "You'll be very surprised at the results. I won't be stopped by anyone, even by Aaron's kid. I'm just one step closer to completing my plans, and I'll be able to do them before you do. Isn't that right, brother?"

(Ending song)

Next Time on Pokemon Heroes:As Ash heads towards his friends in the forest, his group encounters Roman, the leader of The Dark Signers. Even though he knows he isn't ready, he's going to show that he's stronger than The Dark Signers, and he's capable of protecting everyone. Will Ash be able to show he's grown to Roman, and what is the reason why Roman is even in the forest in the first place? Next Time: The Ones You Care For.

That was that chapter. Finally I'm beginning to put my update schedule back to the way it was. I would like to discuss a very important thing with you guys, and I really need suggestions for this: I'm planning to bring Serena into the story. I really like her in the anime, and I want her to be a regular like Drew, but I don't know how I'm supposed to approach her meeting the group and I want her to have a history with Ash, but not some summer camp thing since everyone hated Ash back in Pallet. You can leave a comment or PM on how I'm going to introduce her and her history with Ash (seriously, I planned to bring her into this story in the first chapter of this season, but I didn't know how to). Thank you and see you next week!

Read and Review please :-)
