This is the ninety-eighth chapter in the Pokemon Heroes story. Ash begins his training in this chapter, with a side story of Brendan and the girls. Enjoy!

The next day came by amazingly fast. Ash was bored for most of the day yesterday, mostly because they just sat around, waiting on Drew and Green. It was too late to be training when they came back. Ash opened up his eyes and looked towards the sky. He turned his body around, expecting to see his friends, but they weren't there. Every day he imagined that he was still with them, ready to eat Brendan's breakfast, but that didn't happen. He was with Lnoki and Drew. Lnoki had already woken up, proceeding in making breakfast for them. Drew was still asleep. Lnoki noticed Ash.

"Morning," greeted Lnoki. Ash got up from the ground and walked over to him.

"What are we doing today?" asked Ash. "Sitting down on our asses, like we've been doing for the past couple of days?"

"Not today, boy," said Lnoki. "We're going to begin our training right now."

"Now?"

"Yes," said Lnoki. "Right here. I'm not going to give you breakfast until we start."

"That's cruel," said Ash as he sat down on the ground. "This early and without breakfast?"

"Hey, you're the one who kept on persisting me to let you train, and now I'm going to do it," said Lnoki as he stood up. "We were interrupted by the girl yesterday, so I'm going to proceed in the same way we did last time. Get on this rock."

"Without my shirt on?" asked Ash.

"Yes."

Ash walked over to the rock and sat down on it cross legged. He removed his upper clothes and was left with only his bare chest. He looked towards Lnoki, who just like last time, moved his arms in an amazingly fast pace, and when he stopped, with finger tips on his right arm glowed blue.

"Hey, um, I wanted to ask you what you're doing?" asked Ash.

"Like I told you before, I need to keep your seal in check," said Lnoki.

"My seal to keep The Aura Beast from getting out? Will this hurt?"

"Only for a split second."

Lnoki charged at Ash before he could talk again. Lnoki rammed in fingertips into Ash's stomach. Within a one mile radius, all Pokemon could hear the boy's yell.

The Real Training Begins

Drew abruptly sat up and looked around. He looked at Ash on the ground holding his stomach, writhing in pain as Lnoki was just stretching his fingers.

"What the hell was that for?" asked Ash. "That didn't feel like an ordinary punch."

"Did you say something?" asked Lnoki as he turned to Ash. "Oh, you're hurt. It's only natural. You're supposed to feel extreme pain after I did that. I didn't warn you? My bad."

"Screw you."

"You guys are already starting?" asked Drew as he got out of his sleeping bag and sat down against a tree. "I wanna see this." Ash looked at his stomach for any bruises the old man had made, but instead he saw a blue swirl on his stomach. It was fading away. As it faded away, the pain started to decrease. Once it stopped, he sighed.

"Was that really necessary?" asked Ash.

"Yes it was," replied Lnoki. "I told you that my training with you would just be amazingly hard. With that, you could go berserk at any time without warning, so I decided that I should seal it more. I don't want to be calming you down every hour."

"Is there going to be more of this?"

"Oh hell yeah," said Lnoki with a smile. "I'm going to be doing that every day if you don't keep your emotions in check. Now get back up on that rock. We're not done yet."

"Fine," said Ash as he weakly got back up on the rock.

Brendan looked at his almost empty wallet. He sighed in disappointment as he looked towards the girls, who were eating sundaes in an ice cream shop. He didn't have enough to buy any for himself, since the two girls made him spend his money all day. As Dawn ate her ice cream, she noticed Brendan looking at her treat.

"Wanna have some?"

"Yes," said Brendan. She then took a spoon of ice cream and led it to Brendan's mouth, but before it entered, Dawn put the spoon in her mouth.

"You're cruel," said Brendan. Dawn than placed some in his mouth and continued eating. After the girls finished, they dragged Brendan outside.

"Let's head back to the Pokemon Center," said May. "We should be leaving soon. I'm just going to take a nap."

"We can't leave yet," said Brendan. "Until I feel like the coast is clear."

"Come on," said May. "Those guys must be miles away." Dawn saw the uncertainty in Brendan's face.

"Maybe we should just stay in the city for another day or two," said Dawn. "We'll leave as soon as possible."

"Okay," May agreed, and the two girls walked towards the Pokemon Center. Brendan just watched them go, and he then walked after them.

They entered the Pokemon Center. They noticed a whole bunch of people causing a commotion near the desk. They tried to walk past it.

"What are you going to do about this?"

"I need my stuff back!"

"Do you realize how long it took me to get all those porn magazines?!"

"What's going on with them?" asked May.

"Maybe it's just some people who lost their stuff or something," said Dawn. "It's no problem."

"Arrest that thief already!" yelled someone in the crowd.

"There's a thief in the building?" asked Dawn as they neared their room.

"No way," said Brendan. "Even though this place is free and almost gets no profit, making me wonder how it even prospers, it has good security. They would know if a thief came into the building. Now let's get into our room and let me have a nice nap." As soon as he opened the door, he saw clothes and equipment scattered all over the ground. His mouth was open.

"Well fuck this place!" yelled Brendan as he marched into the room and looked at their stuff on the ground. "Yep. Some things were stolen all right, but it doesn't look like they stole important stuff. Mostly you girl's stuff are on the ground."

"I thought you locked the door?" asked Dawn as she looked through her clothing. When she noticed that something was missing, she blushed.

"A pervert must've come in here!"

May went towards her stuff and smiled.

"Ha, they took your panties," May said, making Dawn blush even more. She then walked over to her stuff and noticed nothing was taken at all.

"The coast is clear over here," said May.

"They didn't take my important stuff, so I think I'm okay," said Dawn. "What about you, Brendan?" When she looked at the boy, she regretted asking the question. Brendan was sulking in the corner. When she went towards his bed, she found nothing. Every single thing that belonged to Brendan was taken. May burst out laughing.

"I guess you're just gonna start over," said Dawn, trying to make Brendan feel better. Brendan stood up and looked toward her.

"No," he said as fire appeared in his eyes. "I'm gonna take back my stuff. I'm gonna find that basterd and beat him to a pulp."

"But you don't even know where they are," said Dawn.

"I'm just gonna find them," said Brendan. "How hard can it be? Remember when Gold and I caught that thief in New Bark Town? Yeah, so I've got skills you won't believe, girl."

"That was just luck."

"You're just jealous of my thief catching swagger," said Brendan, and he ran out of the room. Dawn looked toward May, who was still laughing her ass off. When Brendan was gone, May stopped laughing and looked towards the door.

"We should follow him," said May.

"That's so sweet, May," said Dawn. "You wanna help him so he won't get hurt?"

"No, I just wanna watch him fail," said May with a smirk.

"Has Ash rubbed off on her?" thought Dawn.

Brendan walked towards a man. The man was within the crowd of people that were crowding around Nurse Joy's desk.

"I need my porn magazines back, dammit!" yelled the man. Brendan tapped on the man's shoulder to get his attention. He turned to Brendan with a fierce look.

"What the hell do you want?" asked the man.

"I need more information involving this thief that stole your magazines," said Brendan. "Have you seen his face?"

"No," said the man. "No one has seen his face. That damn guy sneaks into people's rooms somehow and steals all their things. All of it. He mostly goes to the people who are men. He takes interests in only male products."

"That explains why he came after my stuff," thought Brendan. "Is he a resident of this city?"

"Why would you want to know?" asked the man. "It's not like you're gonna go after him. He's too dangerous for you. Let the adults take care of this type of thing."

"I can tell you that I've been in way more wackier shit than this, so this is nothing to me," said Brendan. "I can trap him in a hole if only I knew what he looked like, so I can accidentally catch anyone by accident. Thanks a lot man. I've got a thief to find." He walked away from the man and exited the crowd. He found Dawn and May standing near the entrance of the Pokemon Center.

"Found anything detective?" asked Dawn. "It's going to get late. We should take care of this tomorrow. How about I help you buy your stuff back tomorrow?"

"No," said Brendan. "The stuff I had before was important. I can't just replace it."

"Why are you even searching for this guy yourself?" asked May. "Just let the authorities take care of this."

"No, they took my stuff, so this is personal," said Brendan. "Come! The mystery continues outside." Brendan then ran out of the Pokemon Center. May immediately followed, and Dawn reluctantly exited the Pokemon Center as well.

"He's broken," thought Dawn.

They were now on the roof of the Pokemon Center. Nuzleaf and Poochyena were with them. Nuzleaf was looking around the roof while Mightyena sniffed around the location. It was dark now, and May and Dawn were standing off to the side, just watching Brendan. After a while, Mightyena and Nuzleaf came back to Brendan.

"I understand," said Brendan as he talked with his Pokemon, and then he turned towards the girls.

"I'm one step closer into capturing this basterd," said Brendan. "I've got information that says that the thief is mostly coming to this Pokemon Center, because trainers gather here, and different trainers have different stuff that this guy wants. So that leaves us with one solution: we camp out here and capture this guy and get my stuff back."

"Proof?" asked Dawn.

"Mightyena smelt the same set of footprints on this roof," said Brendan. "This guy has come here over and over again."

"What if it's just the workers that work here?" asked Dawn.

"Dawn, please, I know what I'm doing," said Brendan. "I'm a professional. I found out who stole my breakfast this morning, so I know I can totally know where this guy is going to strike."

"I swear Dawn told me to do it," said May. "I didn't do it on purpose."

"All lies, May," said Brendan. "Sweet Dawn would never tell someone to do that. I say we camp out on top of this building and wait for that basterd to show up."

"How do you know if he's going to be up here?" asked Dawn. "Also, Officer Jennys will be guarding the building, so I don't think they would let three kids stay up here."

"You're right," said Brendan, and he thought, and then an idea popped into his mind. He motioned the girls to come to him. When they got close to him, he whispered into their ears. Dawn looked at him.

"Idiot."

She took May and headed down the building. Brendan shrugged.

The thief kicked down the bars of the air vent and crawled inside. The easiest way to get into someone's room was to get to the air vents. The thief wore all black, with a ski mask on the thief's face. The thief got to the air vent of a room. He looked down the bars and saw an overweight man with a magazine in his hands. The thief then took out a bottle from his pocket and started spraying something into the room. He kept a cloth on his mouth and started unscrewing the screws on the air vent.

"I see now. You use Sleep Powder to make sure the victim gets into a deep sleep. Smart idea."

The thief froze by the sudden voice. He looked forward and saw Brendan, in the air vent, across from him with a smirk on his face.

"SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER!" yelled Brendan. The thief, on instinct, rammed his elbow into the air vent, breaking it and making it fall into the room. He jumped down and ran out of the room. Brendan covered his mouth and ran after him.

"Thought you could escape from me, huh?!" yelled Brendan. "I knew you would enter through the air vent, so I did the same not so smart now, huh?" The thief ran outside and rammed through the Officer Jennys. He took a motorcycle and drove away, with the Officer Jennys close behind. After a chase, he got into an alley and took a deep breath.

"I wanna know where my stuff is," said Brendan. "Now." The thief was startled as he saw Brendan on his Pelipper descend down to him. The thief took out a Pokeball and tossed it, releasing a Chansey.

"For a thief, you must really have balls to go robbing people with a Chansey," said Brendan. "I just want my stuff back. Keep the other's stuff."

"No, it's mine!" yelled the thief in a feminine voice. Brendan's eyes widened.

"You're a woman?" asked Brendan.

"Chansey, use Double Edge," ordered the thief. Chansey charged at Brendan on his Shiny Pelipper, but they moved out of the way.

"Your loss," said Brendan. "Pelipper, use Water Pulse." Pelipper used its attack, and it struck the Chansey and it hit the wall, but got to its feet.

"Chansey, use Egg Bomb!" ordered the thief, and it took the egg from its pouch and tossed it at Pelipper, who once again easily dodged it.

"Keep on using Egg Bomb until they're done!" ordered the thief, and Chansey just kept on throwing constantly, without even a chance to take a break. Pelipper easily got out of the way of every attack. The explosion from their fight made the Officer Jennys come in closer. Brendan knew he had to finish it.

"Pelipper, Steel Wing!" ordered Brendan. Pelipper's wings turned hard, and it charged at Chansey through the smoke and knocked it down.

"Now use Hydro Pump to end this!" ordered Brendan. Pelipper shot its powerful attack down at the Pokemon. When the attack hit, the Chansey lay barely conscious.

"Screw you kid," said the thief. "Chansey, use Sing." Before Brendan could stop it, it sang, making Brendan and Pelipper slowly grow sleepy. They both fell to the ground, knocked out. The thief chuckled and returned Chansey and started running out of the alley, but then she was hit with a frying pan. As the thief fell to the ground, Dawn and May came into view and saw the sleeping Brendan.

"Failure!" said May to check if Brendan was awake, but he wasn't. Dawn sighed.

"And he said he could take care of it," thought Dawn.

After waiting, Officer Jenny came and took the thief, who just woke up. As the thief struggled to be released from the handcuffs, Officer Jenny tried pushing her into the police car. Brendan suddenly woke up and saw her getting arrested.

"Wait up," said Brendan as he stood and returned Pelipper. I wanna know who this basterd is." Officer Jenny quickly removed the mask from the thief's head, and they all gasped when they saw who it was. The thief, the women that stood in front of them, was none other than Nurse Joy. They all gasped.

"Why'd you do it Nurse Joy?" asked Brendan. "I knew you were suspicious."

"The Pokemon Center gets no fucking profit at all," said Nurse Joy. "How am I supposed to help my family, huh? My family, who are all destined to become Nurse Joys. They can't become race car drivers, stunt men, or actors. Only Nurse Fucking Joys!"

"But why take men stuff?" asked Dawn. Nurse Joy, who had a furious expression, suddenly changed into a naughty one expression.

"Oh you know," said Nurse Joy seductively. "I'm a single mother, and I needed to have something to get me excited every day."

"Take this sick monster away," said Brendan. Officer Jenny nodded and pushed Nurse Joy into the car and looked at the kids.

"Thank you for your cooperation," said Officer Jenny. "She will be punished and you'll be getting your stuff back soon." She then got in the car and drove away.

"Brendan!" yelled Dawn. "You could've given her a fucking chance!"

"She deserved it," said Brendan and he put his arm around Dawn's shoulder. "That ends another adventure of Brendan the Detective."

"You had others?" asked May.

"And I will have more in the future," said Brendan. "Let's go out to eat. My treat."

"Didn't you waste all your money though?" asked Dawn.

"Oh yeah," said Brendan as he slowly turned to May. "May?"

"Screw you, Brendan," said May.

Ash got back onto the rock that Lnoki instructed him to go on. He looked at Lnoki and sighed.

"Hurry up," said Ash. "I've been waiting for an hour."

"Yeah, where's the fucking action?" asked Drew as he climbed up the tree he was leaning on.

"I was thinking how to approach this, but I think I got it now. It's time for the real training to begin, Ash. Now listen closely. What I need you to do is look deep inside yourself right now. I want you to get into contact with the Aura Beast."

"Why?"

"Just trust me."

"That wouldn't be a bright idea," said Ritchie.

"Wanna bet?" thought Ash. He closed his eyes. He focused on one thing, and that was to see The Aura Beast. He felt his aura surging through his body.

When he opened his eyes, he saw himself in front of the cage of the beast. He could see its blue, foxlike body behind it.

"Whoa," said Ash.

"What the hell are you doing? Get the fuck out of here!"

Before Ash could turn to see who yelled at him, The Aura Beast roared. Ash felt the whole room vibrate. He covered his ears as he yelled in pain. He was blown away from the winds of the beast's roar. He headed towards a wall.

Ash quickly opened his eyes and returned to reality. He fell off the rock he sat on and hit his head. Lnoki sighed and walked over to the boy who was rubbing his head.

"So what do I win?" asked Ritchie. Ash sat up.

"Did you see it?" asked Lnoki.

"Yes," said Ash. "Why the hell would you make me do that?"

"I think it's time to explain your training," said Lnoki. "If you have noticed, when The Aura Beast gets control over you, you have an amazing amount of power. I want you to be able to use that power without The Aura Beast controlling you. I want you to tame it. If you can tame the beast in you, then you may be able to open up a new level of aura in you, increasing your power by so much, you might actually be able to stand a chance against Roman himself. The goal of your training is that you can grow stronger yourself, because the way to tame an animal is to show who its master is. I want you to beat the Aura Beast, so I will be bringing you into horrible, deadly training that could risk your own life. Are you prepared for this?"

"Shit just got real," said an amazed Drew. Ash just stared at Lnoki in awe.

"Is that really possible?" asked Ash. "I can control this thing?"

"If you can dominate it," said Lnoki.

"Is this guy serious?" Ash asked Ritchie.

"Yeah, it's possible," said Ritchie. "But this thing is tough. You're gonna have to train hard." Ash thought, and then he nodded.

"Bring it!"

Next time on Pokemon Heroes:Gold meets with Crystal once again, and they meet up with Yellow as well. Once they get caught up with the thief Silver near the Lake of Rage, they get caught up in a race to retrieve the Shiny Gyarados. Who will retrieve it first, and how will Gold deal with Silver this time? Next Time: Lake of Rage.

That was that chapter. I know this is a late chapter, but I was busy this week, so I didn't have this on my mind. As an apology, I will be posting two chapters next time, but who knows if I'll be able to finish it by Monday, so it might come Friday. Also, I've got a surprise for the 100th chapter in this story, but the only hint is that it will be a chapter that took place before Ash left the group, and also I know I haven't updated my profile yet, but it should be fixed by Wednesday.
