(Opening song)

A new day, and Gold was walking near a lake. He had a lollipop in his mouth. He was humming a tune under his breath. He saw Yanmegas fly across the sky, playing with each other. He heard buzzing off in the distance, but he didn't mind it. As long as he didn't fuck with it, it wouldn't fuck with him. After walking for a while, he heard the buzzing get closer. He started to become aware of it now. He stopped and listened to his surroundings. Suddenly, a shriek rang, startling Gold and making him drop his lollipop into the lake. He grumbled.

"But that was my favorite flavor," mumbled Gold. In a split second, a bicycle crashed into him, with someone riding it. They both fell into the lake. Gold frantically got back to the top, but was pulled back down. Above the water, he saw a whole swarm of Yanmegas fly by. When they passed, the hand that forced him down was released from his foot. He swam to the top and took a deep breath.

"What the heck was that for?" asked Gold. The person who crashed into him rose from the water and looked at Gold. Seeing her face made him freeze. She smiled.

"I knew I'd find you eventually," said Crystal as she smiled. "It's nice to see you again, Gold."

Lake of Rage

Gold looked up at the sky as Crystal started ranting alongside him as they continued walking the same path by the lake. Everything happened so fast, so Gold had a hard time processing all of it.

"Are you listening to me, Gold?" asked Crystal. Gold was knocked out of his thoughts, and he looked towards the angry Crystal.

"What'd you say?" asked Gold.

"I said I'm going to be traveling with you from now on," said Crystal. That is when Gold's world suddenly stopped. He stopped. Crystal noticed he stopped and turned back to him.

"What's wrong?" asked Crystal.

"Why?"

"Why?" asked Crystal. "What do you mean why? Are you implying you don't want me to be traveling with you? You see, after I left you in Blue City and returned to New Bark Town, I decided that maybe traveling around was fun. I went out to look for you. After a month and a half, I finally meet you again, and this is how you greet me. You're so mean, Gold."

"It's not like I don't want you to be traveling with me," said Gold, "It's pretty much like I really want to just travel alone."

"THEY MEAN THE SAME THING!" yelled Crystal. She held her head up and walked away. Gold sighed and followed her.

Gold and Crystal entered Mahogany Town. Gold was already fascinated of the place, but Crystal felt like she was going to get a heart attack after they encountered so many ninjas that just kept on sneaking up on them. When they entered the Pokemon Center, Crystal felt more at ease and she sat down on the couch.

"Hey Nurse Joy," said Gold as he placed his and Crystal's Pokeballs down on the counter. "I'm here to heal my Pokemon."

"No problem," said Nurse Joy as she took the Pokeballs. "Are you going to stay for the night?"

"Nope."

"What do you mean no?" asked Crystal. "You think it wouldn't be a better idea to go rest for the night?"

"I can't," said Gold. "I'm in a hurry."

"Hurry for what?"

"I'm..." said Gold, but at the corner of his eye, he saw a girl talking to a guy. That girl had long, blue hair, and he also saw a pink skirt. His eyes immediately turned into hearts and he rushed towards the girl to Crystal's surprise.

"DAWN!" Gold yelled out, and he took the girl's hand in his, and he suddenly was beautified, but immediately stopped when he saw it was a completely different girl in front of him. He wanted to apologize, but the guy standing next to the girl immediately punched Gold on his face, making him fall back. Crystal rushed to his side.

"Get your fucking hands off my girl, boy," said the muscular man. "There are more of those punches if you want some." Gold sat up, and the man and his girlfriend started talking again.

"Let's head to the Lake of Rage," said the man.

"I heard something's going on over there," said the girl as they started to walk out. "Maybe we should go someplace else."

"Don't worry," said the guy. "I'll be here with you. That red haired kid has no chance against me."

"Red haired kid?" thought Gold. The couple left the Pokemon Center.

"What was that for?" asked Crystal. Gold blushed in embarrassment.

"I haven't seen Dawn in such a long time though," said Gold. "I wonder what she's doing with that basterd right now."

"Who the hell is Dawn?" asked Crystal. Gold turned back to Crystal, who angrily turned away.

"What did I do?" thought Gold. He stood up and walked towards the Pokemon Center's doors.

"Where are you going?" asked Crystal. He turned back to Crystal.

"I'm heading to The Lake of Rage," said Gold.

"Why?"

"I found another breakthrough, so I need to get there before he leaves," said Gold. "You're coming?"

"Who leaves?" asked Crystal. "What are you talking about?" They then heard a bell from Nurse Joy.

"Gold, your Pokemon are ready."

The path to The Lake of Rage was north of Mahogany Town. Gold and Crystal got there in only ten minutes. People from Mahogany Town and other places of the Ransei region were there as well. The Lake of Rage was a huge tourist attraction. Crystal looked over the railing and looked at the lake that was sparkling.

"It's so beautiful," said Crystal. "Why is this place called The Lake of Rage again?"

"It's because of all the dangerous, powerful Gyarados in the water."

Gold and Crystal turned to the source of the voice, and saw Yellow next to them looking over the water.

"Hey, you're that kid from Blue City," said Gold. "What are you doing so far away from home?" Yellow's eye twitched, and he smiled at the two.

"Like I said before, this lake has powerful Gyarados in it," said Yellow, trying her best to ignore the statement from Gold. "People don't just come here to just look at the water all day. People come here to catch some of these Gyarados. They are amazingly hard to capture, and it's dangerous to go into the lake, or you risk being attacked. You have to stand by the side of the lake and lure it out, but that's just harder."

"Damn, I wonder who can catch one," said Gold. Yellow held a Pokeball in her hand, but she put it in her pocket, fearing the remarks from Gold.

"Actually, people are also here for that other thing as well," said Yellow. "It is said at the bottom of the lake lies a whole colony of Shiny Gyarados. They are extremely powerful, and having one on your team can make you a powerful trainer, but it's harder to get them. The only way so far is by going in the lake and going to a spot that's their territory. Battling them is already hard enough."

"How do you know they're powerful?" asked Crystal.

"I battled one," said Yellow.

"You went on that lake without adult supervision?" asked Crystal. "Where are your parents?"

"Like I said, they're powerful," said Yellow, now ignoring Crystal. "You should try. It's really fun to battle them."

"No way," said Crystal. "Neither I nor Gold are stupid enough to actually go out and capture a shiny Gyarados that could rip off our necks in seconds, right Gold?" At that moment, she realized what she said was just stupid. Gold was looking excitedly at the lake, and he looked like he was going to jump over the railing.

"I want a Shiny Gyarados," said Gold. Crystal face-palmed. Yellow giggled and started walking off.

"Good luck," said Yellow as she walked away, but stopped and turned back to the two. "Also, I've been hearing that a shady looking guy is stealing people's Pokemon around here. Be careful." Gold was already knocked out of his excitement. He remembered the real reason why he came to The Lake of Rage. He looked at Yellow.

"You be careful too, little guy," said Gold. Yellow grumbled and walked away.

"Hey Gold, there's a Pokemon Center over there," said Crystal. "Wanna stay by here for the night?"

"Of course," said Gold as his excitement returned. "I'm gonna be catching a whole lot of Pokemon tonight." Gold ran towards the Pokemon Center. Crystal smiled, and then walked after him.

After getting a room, Gold and Crystal rested for the night. As Crystal slept on her bed, Gold was wide awake, looking towards their door. He made sure to hear any noises. He yawned and slowly sat up.

"Maybe I'm just paranoid," thought Gold. "He must be miles away from here." He walked towards their window that looked at The Lake of Rage. He stared at it. It was getting late by the time Gold wanted to catch some Pokemon, so Crystal forced him not to even take a step near the lake. He sighed and looked around. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw a figure standing at the edge of the lake. He squinted so he could see better, and saw the moonlight reflecting the figure's red hair. Gold tried to see better through the darkness, and then he finally found out who it was. It was Silver. He immediately ran out of the room and towards the lake. When he got there, he saw no one. Silver was gone.

"Was I imagining it?" thought Gold. He remembered how Silver was looking at the lake intently. Maybe the boy was trying to catch a Gyarados as well. Gold thought, and then he smiled and walked back to The Pokemon Center.

"Are we seriously doing this?"

"Why not? It could be fun."

"But it's dangerous, especially this close. Did you not pay attention to what Yellow was saying?"

"Just relax and let me take care of it."

"Fine, but if anything happens to me, I'm gonna hold you responsible."

"Aye ma'am," said Gold. Crystal and he had been arguing the whole time since they got on Lapras and swam on the dangerous lake.

"Do you really want to catch a Gyarados that badly?" asked Crystal. "We can catch one someplace else."

"No, I wanna catch one here," said Gold. Since he knew Silver would be catching a Gyarados on the lake as well, he decided to follow him. He knew since Silver is a tough guy, he would want to catch the Shiny Gyarados. He smiled.

"One step closer, Silver," thought Gold. One word to Crystal and she would forbid him from doing something this stupid. He had to keep searching. He had to keep searching for Silver. Crystal was just shivering behind him. He found it annoying how she was volunteering to go with him. As he thought, he heard Crystal saying stuff to him, but he ignored it.

"Gold!"

"What does she want now?"

"Gold!"

"I wish I could tell her to shut up."

"Oh my Arceus, Gold, pay attention!"

When Gold finally focused on what was in front of him, the sight made him pale and shocked. About five Gyarados stood in front of them, looking ferociously at them.

"Shit."

They all shot down a Hyper Beam at them.

"Lapras, let's go!" ordered Gold. Lapras nodded and swam away. It dodged the attacks of the Gyarados the best it could, but Gold knew that if he didn't get to safety, they would be struck. Crystal was screaming.

"Gold, send out another Pokemon," said Crystal. Gold mumbled something.

"What?" asked Crystal.

"I...left...Pokemon Center," Crystal heard Gold say.

"Speak louder!"

"I left my Pokemon at the fucking Pokemon Center!" yelled Gold.

"Wow, nice move. You went to catch Pokemon without Pokemon. That was really smart dumbass!"

"How about you take out your Pokemon to fight?" asked Gold.

"Your idea, you fight with your Pokemon," said Crystal. "My Pokemon aren't getting hurt because of you." They then heard cheering. When Gold looked towards the shore by the lake, he saw people cheering the two on.

"How about you basterds help us out?!" yelled Gold. Finally, one Hyper Beam from a Gyarados crashed behind Lapras, flipping it over and making Gold and Crystal fall into the lake. When they rose up, they saw five angry Gyarados looking down at them.

"It was nice knowing you, Crystal."

"OH SHUT UP!"

Before the Gyarados could attack, something struck them all. They fell back into the water. The people kept on cheering as Gold and Crystal watched in disbelief. Lapras went by Crystal, who got on it. Gold looked around them, and saw someone holding onto a Honchkrow's foot. He looked closely and saw Silver, with a brown cloak on him with the hood over his head, looking back at him.

"Silver!" yelled Gold, and he started swimming towards Silver, but to no avail, since the boy was in the air. "Get your ass down here and battle me!" Silver looked away and tapped his Honchkrow's foot, making it accelerate and fly faster. Gold stopped and breathed. Crystal and Lapras went towards him.

"Silver?" asked Crystal. "You mean that guy from Blue City? Why are you after him?" Gold looked back up.

"I know what your next move is, basterd," thought Gold.

Later on, Gold and Crystal were back by the lake. Crystal was in a blue two piece bikini as Gold was in normal black and yellow shorts. Crystal was blushing as she twiddled her fingers.

"So Gold, how do I look?" asked Crystal.

"What did you say?" asked Gold looking back at her. Crystal sighed. She looked forward and stared at the lake.

"Why are we back here?" asked Crystal.

"I wanna get that Shiny Gyarados," said Gold. Crystal froze, trying to comprehend the words Gold said.

"You've got to be kidding me," said Crystal. "Why do we have to swim in the water then?"

"I don't want our clothes to get wet like last time," said Gold. "Also, I remembered to bring my Pokemon this time. We'll be safe as long as we stick together."

"Alright," said Crystal. "I'm blaming you for whatever happens."

"Alright," said Gold. He tossed out Lapras. They got on the Pokemon. They came at a time where most people aren't by the lake to cheer them on, so they wouldn't be distracted this time. Crystal was once again shivering. Gold looked on intently. He didn't take his eyes off the water or the sky. He prepared to take out a Pokeball when it was necessary. It was a large lake as well, as the end of it was so far away that it could've taken about fifteen minutes just to get all the way through.

"There aren't any Gyarados attacking us yet," said Crystal as she saw they were far away from the mainland. "You think something's wrong?" Gold continued to focus, also noticing the lack of Gyarados.

"I'll go check it," said Gold as he moved to the side of Lapras. Before Crystal could yell at him not to do it, Gold dunked his head down into the water. He opened his eyes. It was clear water, so he could faintly see the bottom, but what surprised him was that he didn't see a lot of Gyarados. Only about two passed by them. He took his head out of the water and thought. He snapped his fingers and took out the breathing device that can let him breathe underwater.

"Stay here," he ordered, and he dived down into the water. Crystal looked down at him, and rubbed Lapras's back.

"Don't worry," said Crystal. "If he dies, I'll take you in."

Gold swam into the lake. The Gyarados that were around him didn't bother him at all. He was riding on his Mantine, just in case he got into any trouble. He looked around.

"They must be taking a break," thought Gold. "Maybe if I don't make a lot of noise, I can easily get through here without any problems." Immediately, a Gyarados was struck down next to him by a hyper beam. He looked back and saw Silver on top of a Gyarados of his own. Another Gyarados was swimming around the first, implying that the boy caught two. He also had the breathing device on his face, and he also had his clothes on.

"Silver!" yelled Gold. "Swim to him, Mantine!" As they swam towards the boy, Silver took out a box, and when he pressed a button on the box, a screeching noise could be heard.

"Come out, come out wherever you are Gyarados!" yelled Silver. More Gyarados went towards him to attack, but the Gyarados he controlled attacked them quickly.

"What are you doing?!" yelled Gold. "Silver!" Silver looked towards Gold, but looked away.

"Don't ignore me!"

"Fuck off, Gold," said Silver. "I'm on a mission here."

"Screw that," said Gold. "First you steal people's Pokemon, and now you start terrorizing these Pokemon. You're screwed up, man."

"I'm looking for the Shiny Gyarados," said Silver. "You better leave, or else you could get caught up in the crossfire."

"Bring it!" yelled Gold. As soon as he said that, a roar could be heard through the water. Mantine froze. Silver looked in the noise's direction. His eyes widened.

"Move out of the way!" yelled Silver. Gold looked behind him, and he saw a Shiny Gyarados swimming toward them at a fast speed.

"Shit," said Gold.

"Gyarados, Hyper-" said Silver, but he was interrupted when The Shiny Gyarados shot a powerful hyper beam to them. Gold barely dodged it, and the hyper beam went straight towards Silver's second Gyarados, knocking it unconscious with the first hit. Silver and Gold watched in amazement. He quickly returned Gyarados, but before he could send out another Pokemon, the Shiny Gyarados hit them all with its long tail upwards, making them emerge from the water and fly into the air. Gold yelled as Silver tried his best to hold onto his Gyarados. Silver's Gyarados landed in the water and rose above it. Gold and Mantine crashed into the water as well. When they rose up, they saw Lapras and Crystal looking at them.

"What happened to you guys?" asked Crystal. "I heard a roar and I got scared, so..." The Shiny Gyarados rose from the water and looked down at them angrily. Crystal, with her mouth open, mouthed the word "shit". Silver took out a Master Ball from his bag.

"If I'm gonna catch it, I'm have to do it now," said Silver. He threw it, but a hook caught it in midair and it was railed someplace else. He looked and saw Yellow on her Omastar coming towards them. Thanks to the hook from her fishing pole, she had the Master Ball in her hand. Silver looked at her angrily.

"I knew it," said Yellow. "You're that thief that has been stealing people's Pokemon at the Pokemon Center."

"It's Yellow!" yelled Crystal as Gold got back on top of his Mantine.

"Give me back the fucking ball," said Silver angrily. Yellow tossed it back to Silver without any hesitation.

"I don't care if you capture this Gyarados or not, but what I do care about is you stealing Pokemon," said Yellow. "Return them all immediately."

"Like I'd listen to a kid," said Silver. A strain appeared on Yellow's forehead. She stood and looked angrily at Silver.

"Fine then," said Yellow. "I'm just gonna have to take it from you by force then." She started taking out a Pokeball. Silver looked at her, and back at Yellow.

"I don't have time for this," said Silver. "The Shiny Gyarados will be attacking us too."

"Don't worry, Yellow," said Gold as he looked back at the Gyarados. "I'll take care of this thing while you fight Silver. Sorry, dude, but I also want you to return those Pokemon you stole. Crystal gets to help me too."

"I didn't agree to that!" yelled Crystal, but she sighed and took out a Pokeball. "But I guess I have no other choice though." She tossed the Pokeball, and out came Xatu, who flew in the air above Gyarados. Gold also took out a Pokeball and tossed out Ambipom, who grabbed onto Xatu's foot to fly in the sky.

"Lapras and Mantine, use Water Gun and Ambipom, get down and use Double Hit!" ordered Gold. Lapras and Mantine used water gun, getting the Gyarados's attention. While it looked down, Ambipom came down on it and crashed its fists on its head.

"Xatu, use Physic!" ordered Crystal, and the shockwave crashed into Gyarados, pushing it back down into the water. Ambipom grabbed onto Xatu's leg in midair. Silver looked on at their fight angrily.

"You're fight's with me," said Yellow, and she threw her Pokeball, and out came Butterfree.

"Alright, I'll give you a freaking fight!" yelled Silver, and his Gyarados roared. "Gyarados, use Hydro Pump!" Silver's Gyarados shot its huge chunk of water at Yellow, but her Omastar dodged it with ease.

"Butterfree, use Confusion, and Omastar, use Ice Beam!" ordered Yellow, and both of their attacks collided with Silver's Gyarados, knocking it back.

"This kid knows how to battle," thought Silver. "Gyarados, use Aqua Tail!" Silver's Gyarados attacked Butterfree in the air with its tail, but Yellow and her Omastar were able to dodge its attack once again.

"Use Whirlwind, Butterfree," ordered Yellow. "Omastar, use Ice Beam again." Butterfree regained itself and immediately shot gusts of winds at Gyarados, which didn't do any affect at all. Omastar used ice beam, but Gyarados dodged it easily.

"Stay still, damn you," said Yellow.

"Do you remember that this lake is filled with powerful Gyarados?" asked Silver.

"A Pokemon with someone as sadistic as you isn't powerful at all," said Yellow. "Butterfree, use Solar Beam and Omastar, use Hydro Pump!" Silver's Gyarados dodged the hydro pump, but it didn't have time to dodge Butterfree's attack, but Silver knew what to do.

"Block it Gyarados by using Hyper Beam!" ordered Silver. The attacks collided, and they both disappeared, creating a cloud of smoke. Yellow got through the smoke, with Butterfree close behind her.

"How would Red take care of this?" thought Yellow, already knowing she stood no chance against Silver's Gyarados.

The battle against the Shiny Gyarados was already hard enough, but Gold and Crystal continued to fight, not backing down.

"Lapras, use Surf, Mantine, use Hydro Pump, and Ambipom, strike Gyarados again with Double Hit!" ordered Gold. Lapras sent a huge wave towards Gyarados, who wasn't affected at all. Mantine's attack hit the Pokemon, enraging it even more. Ambipom crashed down on the Pokemon, but was smacked away by its tail.

"Xatu, use Hypnosis!" ordered Crystal. Xatu caught Ambipom, and used its attack in front of the Gyarados, but it didn't fall asleep but roared, sending the Pokemon back. It then used Hyper Beam in front of them, causing a huge wave of water to crash down on them, but they stood strong.

"We're not dealing any damage to it at all," said Gold. "Okay Lapras and Mantine, I need you to hit it with the most powerful Ice Beam you got. Ambipom, use Swift to distract it!" Ambipom sent stars to Gyarados, making it focus on Ambipom now. This gave Lapras and Mantine a chance, and they shot it. It got hit, and it was roaring in pain.

"We've got this!" yelled Crystal. "Xatu, use Psybeam!" It shot its Physic-type attack on Gyarados. In rage, Gyarados used Dragon Rage and shot a huge ball anywhere, and it headed for Xatu, but Ambipom pushed Xatu out of the way and got hit instead. It fell to the water. Gold groaned.

"Dammit," said Gold. He returned Ambipom and looked at Gyarados.

"Be careful, Crystal. This basterd means business."

"This wouldn't have happened if you didn't go after a Gyarados in the first place," said Crystal. "Xatu, use Drill Peck!" Xatu went towards Gyarados and pecked it repeatedly, but was pushed away by Gyarados.

"Lapras, use Water Pulse, and Mantine, use Psybeam!" ordered Gold. Both attacks hit Gyarados without guarding itself. Gold noticed that it was breathing heavily now.

"We're almost done," said Gold. "Just a little more."

Yellow breathed heavily as well. Her Butterfree fainted, and now she was just with her Omastar.

"You're done yet?" asked Silver with his unscathed Gyarados.

"Not even a little," said Yellow. Silver looked towards Gold's fight with the Shiny Gyarados. He smirked when he saw it breathing heavily. He looked back at Yellow.

"Sorry, but I've gotta go now," said Silver. "It was fun battling you though. Gyarados, use Hyper Beam in front of her!" Gyarados obeyed, and it shot its attack in front of Yellow, causing a huge wall of water to go in front of her. Through the water, she saw Silver take out the Master Ball and throw it at the Shiny Gyarados midway before it attacked Gold and Crystal.

"Shit," thought Yellow. The ball hit Gyarados, and it got sucked into the ball. Silver then threw out Honchkrow, and it flew towards the ball and returned it to him.

"Let's go, Gyarados," said Silver, and they started swimming away.

"Get back here, Silver!" yelled Gold. He made his Mantine swim faster towards Silver. After a chase, Silver made it to mainland and started running after returning Gyarados, and Gold, close behind after returning Mantine. He chased Silver to the woods. Silver tried shaking off Gold, but Gold kept an eye on him. After a while, Silver came to a dead end. Gold found him and walked towards him, breathing heavily.

"What the hell do you want from me?" asked Silver.

"I want to help you."

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

"Listen Silver, last time you told me that you're doing this for your sister, but stealing Pokemon and hurting people isn't the right way to go."

"You don't understand shit!" yelled Silver.

"I don't, but I want to help you," said Gold. "Just let me help you. Maybe you can help your sister another way. Please, just stop this." Silver thought, but slowly shook his head.

"Y-You don't understand at all," said Silver. Now this was the second time Gold saw his sad expression. He then snapped his fingers, and Honchkrow came and he took its foot and they flew off.

"The stolen Pokemon are under the Oran Berry tree near the Pokemon Center," said Silver. "Take them. I don't need them anymore." He then disappeared from sight. Gold continued looking in his direction, and then sighed.

After distributing the stolen Pokemon back to their owners, Gold had decided that he was going to get out of the town and move on.

"You sure it would be a good idea to look for that thief?" asked Yellow.

"Yeah," said Gold. "That's what I've been doing for a while. I've just been traveling around looking for him."

"Alright," said Yellow. "I'm not gonna stop you."

"But why are you going after him?" asked Crystal. "Isn't that dangerous?"

"He just needs help," said Gold. "I'm going to be the one who takes him away from his bad thoughts. I swear it." Crystal wanted to call him stupid, but not this time. She smiled.

"How about you travel with us, Yellow?" asked Gold. "You're too young to be traveling alone."

"Naw, I kind of like it better when I travel alone," said Yellow as she started walking away. "I'll see you guys some other time. You kids be good, okay?"

"Why is she talking to us like we're younger than her?" asked Gold. When Yellow disappeared from their site, Gold looked at Crystal and smiled.

"Wanna get going?"

"You want me to actually go with you?" asked Crystal.

"Of course," said Gold. "Let's get going. I need to catch up to Silver before he gets too far." He ran off. Crystal watched him go and smiled.

"Wait for me!" she yelled as she ran after him.
