This is the special one-hundredth chapter in the Pokemon Heroes story. I can't believe I've made it this far, and I don't plan on stopping for a while too. You'll finally know what this chapter is, and after this, I'll be adding more things to Pokemon Heroes, but that'll be seen later on. This chapter takes place before Cruisin'. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon or any of the songs.

(Opening song)

She stayed under the shade of the trees while she rode on her Rhyhorn. She saw Pokemon in the bushes, playing with each other. This scene made her smile. She enjoyed watching Pokemon play with each other. As her Rhyhorn kept going, she saw two Bonsly fighting.

"Aw," she said, and she tapped her Rhyhorn. "Wait here." She got off and walked towards the Bonsly. She noticed they were fighting over an apple that fell from a tree. She swiftly took the apple from both of them, and then broke it in half so that each Pokemon could have one. The Bonsly smiled when the girl gave it to them. Them eating peacefully made her smile.

"Now you two be good," said the girl. "It's no use fighting over something this stupid." The Bonsly nodded in agreement. Before she could leave, she heard rustling in the bushes.

"Who's there?" she asked. "Come out. There's no reason to be shy." Two Sudowoodo came out of the bushes and looked at the girl sternly. She shrieked under her breath, and slowly stood and took a step back.

"Don't worry," said the girl. "I wasn't trying to hurt your children at all. They were fighting, so I just wanted to help." The Sudowoodo didn't take it, and they continued coming to her with their branches growling a steel color. The girl backed up against a tree, and looked back at the Pokemon. She shook her head and regained her composure and smiled. She extended out a hand for them to shake.

"My name is Serena," said Serena. "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Serena

Ash crashed into a tree and fell to the ground. His eyes were in swirls as he held his head. Right next to him, May walked over and bent down near the boy.

"That's what you get for almost calling me that," said May. "Are you okay?"

"It hurts," said Ash.

"I know it hurts, that's why I punched you hard!" yelled Dawn as Brendan tried to hold her back. Drew was just shaking his head, disappointed in Ash.

"I was talking to May, not you!" yelled Ash as he forced himself to get up. Before this, he was arguing with May on whether they should take the path on the right or the left, but the arguing escalated, resulting in Ash almost calling May the "b" word. Within a split second, Ash was crashing into a tree after getting steel-like punch from Dawn.

"Now you apologize to May right now," threatened Dawn. Ash could already see the fire in her eyes, sending chills down his spine. He bowed down by May.

"I am gratefully sorry and I promise I'll never do it again," said Ash. Within an instant, Dawn's devil-like appearance, changed back to her normal appearance.

"That decides it," said Dawn. "We're going to the one on the left." As Ash was sulking near a tree, Drew was giving him a lecture, which he didn't pay attention to, and May was petting his back, which he found annoying. Before they set off, Pikachu's ears perked up, and it looked around.

"What's wrong, Pikachu?" asked Ash. "You hear something?" Pikachu nodded, and then it pointed towards the path behind them. Within a few seconds, they felt a stampede.

"What's that?" asked Drew. "Is it a group of Pokemon coming?"

"I think so," said Brendan. "Let's be careful. Who knows what could come at us." While they waited, they felt the ground shake harder and harder, implying that the stampede was getting closer. The Pokemon finally came into view, and they saw about twenty to thirty Sudowoodo coming towards them. In front of the Sudowoodo was Serena on her Rhyhorn, trying to run away from them.

"Someone's in trouble," said May. "Should we help her?"

"I say we run as far away as we can before that gets too close," said Drew, making May slap him on the back of his head. Ash stood up and rolled his arms around.

"I haven't gotten into a good fight in a while," said Ash. "This one could be fun." Serena and her Rhyhorn passed by Ash. As they did, Serena looked at Ash's face. Something clicked in her head.

"Which one of you Sudowoodo want some ass-whooping?" asked Ash. Pikachu nodded and got down, prepared to fight as well. The Sudowoodo easily dealt with them both, running over them, not even recognizing them as a threat. Brendan sighed.

"Lame," said Brendan. Drew and he threw out a Pokeball, letting out Mightyena and Roselia. As Serena kept on getting far enough, she tapped her Rhyhorn's back, making it stop. She turned back to the group. Within seconds, all the Sudowoodo were either unconscious or running away. Brendan and Drew returned their Pokemon and gave each other a high-five. Ash and Pikachu were twitching on the ground as May and Dawn walked to them.

"Are you okay, Ash?" asked May.

"The pain..." Ash said weakly

"Pika..." said Pikachu as well. Dawn face-palmed. Serena made her Rhyhorn walk towards them. Drew noticed her coming and flicked his hair.

"No need to thank us," said Drew. "It'll only be twenty dollars, but I think I'll bump it down to fifteen for you." Brendan rammed his fist into Drew's face, making him fall back. Dawn walked towards Serena.

"Are you okay?" she asked. "That was a whole lot of Pokemon over there." Serena wasn't paying attention to any of them. She was only looking at the twitching Ash on the ground. She looked at Dawn and smiled.

"Yeah," said Serena, "I'm perfectly fine." She got off her Rhyhorn and walked towards Ash.

"Is he going to be okay?"

"Of course," said May. "He gets hurt way more than this. This is but a scratch to Ash."

"The pain..."

"Ash?" said Serena. "Do you mind if I see his face?" May looked up at her, and then she moved Ash's face to Serena. Serena stared, and then she covered her mouth in surprise.

"Is his last name Ketchum? Ash Ketchum?"

Everyone stared at her, not understanding how she even knew Ash. Drew's face was filled with anger. He took Ash's collar on the ground and started slapping Ash on both of his cheeks repeatedly.

"How come you meet all these girls and don't tell me about them?!" yelled Drew. "Do you not want me to have a girlfriend?! I see what's going on! You want to keep all the hot chicks to yourself, do ya, Ash?! Do you?" Ash woke up, and kicked Drew into the sky. Brendan and Dawn looked up as they saw the sparkle.

"I wonder when he'll come back," said Dawn.

"Who knows," said Brendan. "But he'll come at a very convenient time. He always does." Ash sat up and stretched. He looked around and saw Serena looking down at him, shocked.

"And who the hell are you?"

"Ash, I've told you this before," said May as she was touching Ash's back. "That's not how you greet people. You say "hello" or if you don't know them, "who might you be"?"

"Who the hell might you be?" asked Ash. Serena just kept on staring at him. After a while, she uncovered her mouth and gave Ash a smile. She bent down to get to eye level with him.

"Ash, it's me, Serena," said Serena. Ash stared at her.

"I have never met a Serena before in my life."

Serena's face was written with shock. Dawn wanted to slap the boy and Brendan was trying to hide his chuckles from them.

"B-But Ash, we've only haven't seen each other for a year," said Serena. "How can you not remember me?"

"You sure it was a year?"

"Yes!"

"Then I really don't know you," said Ash. Serena kept shaking with shock. She felt like she was going to cry. She felt sadder after seeing Ash's face not even written with any guilt, or at least trying to remember her. Ash winced in pain, and turned to see May touching his back.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm just checking for any broken bones," said May. "Don't mind me."

"But Ash," said Serena, being able to speak again. "I was that one friend you had in Pallet Town, remember?"

"I had no friends there," said Ash. "And it's not like I wanted any." May touched Ash's shoulder, and looked at it.

"Ash, I think this bone is out of place," said May. "I'm gonna fix it." Before Ash could object, May pushed his dislocated shoulder back into its socket. Ash didn't even wince in pain nor shout. He just fell to the ground, unconscious.

Serena was sulking as Brendan handed her a cup of tea. Ash was sleeping off to the side, guarded by May. Dawn looked up to the sky.

"I wonder what's happening to Drew," said Dawn.

"He's fine," said Brendan. "I bet he's flying on a Rayquaza, having a ton of fun." Conveniently, above their heads, a Rayquaza flew across the sky with a certain green haired boy on it. Brendan looked at Serena.

"Listen, Ash doesn't remember a lot of people," said Brendan. "Don't think this only happens to you."

"It's okay," said Serena. "This is actually expected of him. I only feel that he's acting different than the way I met him."

"You and Ash know each other?" asked Brendan.

"Yeah, but only for about two months," said Serena. "He was always a loner."

"How'd you two meet?" asked Dawn.

"It was near that river in Pallet," said Serena. "That was the day I first met him."

Flashback

Serena actually enjoyed the scenery of Pallet Town. Already, in her head, she considered it one of the most amazing places she had every visited in her lifetime. The town wasn't small, but it wasn't big as well. It was a good enough size. As she walked, she found herself near a river. She walked over to it and watched the different type of water-type Pokemon swim in it. This made her smile. She loved it when she saw Pokemon working together. She never enjoyed fighting or Pokemon battles. As she walked along the river, she saw a boy sitting by it. He had a Krabby by him, and he was feeding it some berries.

"Hey," said Serena as she approached the boy. The boy that looked up at her was no other than Ash Ketchum. He stared at her, with his normal black eyes. He then looked away.

"Is he ignoring me?" thought Serena. "Um...my name is Serena. I just moved into Pallet. It's nice to meet you. What's your name?" Ash looked back at her.

"You're honestly talking to me right now?" asked Ash with a small smirk.

"Of course," said Serena. "Why shouldn't I?"

"I don't know," said Ash. He turned his attention back to Krabby. After just standing there for a few minutes, Serena started to leave.

"Um...I'll see you later then."

Ash just waved bye without even looking at her. She walked away. She felt warm inside, since Ash was the first person she talked to in this town. Deep down, she actually wanted to be friends with him.

The next day came, and Serena already started getting used to the town. During a walk, she once again saw Ash sitting by the river. In her childish head, she thought he stayed there the whole night. She walked over to him. He looked like he was trying to take a nap. When she got close to him, he opened one eye and saw her.

"Hey, it's me again," said Serena. Ash sat up straight and looked at her.

"Who are you again?"

"I'm that girl who came to see you yesterday," said Serena. "How are you doing?"

"I'm doing swell," said Ash. He then lied down and slept. Serena couldn't decide whether to just walk away, or wake him up and scold him for sleeping in the middle of a conversation. She smiled and shrugged, and then she sat down next to him. She started to understand why he sat by the river, because it looked peaceful and it was clear enough to see Pokemon swim in it. After about an hour, Ash suddenly sat up.

"Oh crap," he said, and he stood and ran away.

"Where are you going?" asked Serena. Ash stopped and turned back to Serena.

"I promised to my mom I would be back half an hour ago," said Ash with a smile. "I gotta go now. See ya." Ash ran off. Serena blushed.

"He said see ya," thought Serena. "He wants to see me again, right?"

The next day, Serena, wanting to check if Ash was once again by the river, went by the river, and who could've guessed it, Ash was there. Ever since, she had been coming there everyday just to see Ash. She just talked with him. Since she hadn't met a lot of people in Pallet Town yet, Ash was kind of like her first friend here. Even after she developed friends outside of Ash, she still met him daily by the river. She felt the most comfortable near him. She felt like she could say anything to him. Ash had also changed near her as well. At first, he ignored her, but now he actually paid attention. He now told jokes and told her stories of times he was with some of his other friends. After a while, after Ash told her about some of his friends, she began to think about them.

"Where are they now?" asked Serena. "You're other friends?"'

"Them?" said Ash. "Yeah, they're not here anymore. One moved away, while the other is pretty much dead to me now."

"What about the other kids in Pallet Town?"

"Them? They don't take a liking to me."

"Why?"

"I don't know," said Ash. "That's why I was surprised you talked to me." After leaving Ash that day, Serena started to get suspicious as to why Ash didn't have friends. She went around the town, talking to her other friends about Ash.

"You know Ketchum?" asked one of her girl friends. "Don't trust that guy. He's bad news." She talked to more people, and they said the same thing that Ash was a monster. The next day, she came to Ash, but she was worried. She sat by him and looked at his face.

"He doesn't look like a bad person," thought Serena. She just stared at him, not saying a word. Ash noticed this.

"What is it?" asked Ash.

"Ash, can I ask you something?"

"Go ahead."

"Why do people call you a monster?"

"Heck if I know," said Ash with a smile. "They just call me that. They called me ever since I was small."

"Is there a reason for it?" asked Serena. "Did you ever do anything bad to them?"

"Not any I can remember," said Ash. "I get into fights with them sometimes, but that's only when they piss me off. Other than that, I don't do anything that hurts anyone." Serena looked at the river. They stayed there in complete silence.

"Sup motherfucker," said someone behind them. When they turned back, they saw a boy in a navy styled shirt, brown baggy pants, and black spiky hair standing there with a couple of his friends. They were staring at Ash angrily. Ash just smiled at them.

"Sup, Joseph," said Ash. They ignored Ash and walked over to Serena. Joseph took out his hand and held it out for her.

"Let's go someplace else," said Joseph. "I know a great place."

"Sorry," said Serena with a smile. "I'm already here with Ash."

"Who? This dude. No. Not this guy. Come with us or else he'll just go on a rampage on you like he did a while back."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean this dude's a monster. Don't trust him."

Serena didn't understand if she should go with the boy or stay with Ash.

"Joseph, I didn't do anything, and you know it," said Ash.

"Shut up, Ash," said Joseph. Serena then noticed how Ash was talking to them. He was talking peacefully to them, but they just kept on verbally abusing the boy. Ash actually looked like he just wanted to talk, but they were the ones who were just being mean to him. Every time they talked to him like that, she just wanted to slap them. She slapped Joseph's hand out the way and stood in front of him.

"You guys are just assholes!" yelled Serena. "Why are you being such a jerk to him? You call him a monster, but just look at him! He's doing nothing to upset or bother you, but you just want to bother him! Well fuck you guys too! I don't care what you say about Ash. I don't believe he's a monster. You guys are!" Their mouths were wide open. This was the first time Ash heard her curse. Joseph's teeth clenched, and he and his boys walked over to Serena.

"Assholes, huh?" asked Joseph. "I'll show you who's an asshole!" He raised his fist at her. Before he could hit Serena, Ash jumped up and punched Joseph across the face, making him fall back. He stared at Joseph sternly.

"Don't even think about hurting her," said Ash.

"Get him!" yelled Joseph. They all charged at Ash. Serena looked on horridly as they beat Ash up. After they were done, they left, with a bruised up Ash on the ground, Serena walked over to him. She felt like she was going to cry. Ash sat up and rubbed his head.

"I-I'm sorry," she managed to say. Ash looked at her and smiled.

"No big deal," said Ash. "What are friends for?" Serena managed a smile as well.

After that, Serena saw Ash more often than her other friends. Serena started to realize that she was developing feelings for Ash, but tried to push those thoughts to the back of her head. After talking with Ash, she already knew he didn't understand the concept of love. After two months, she received the devastating news. She walked over to the lake Ash was by. She sat down near him. They talked, just like they normally do. It was then time for her to leave, so she had to tell him now.

"Ash, I'm moving away," said Serena, just wanting to let it out. "My dad works in Vermillion City on a business trip. We're gonna be moving to another part of Ransei, and it's gonna be permanent. I'm sorry," Ash didn't respond. He just smiled at her.

"That happens to me a lot," said Ash. "I knew you were gonna leave eventually." Serena felt bad for him. She stared at the lake sadly.

"Remember when I told you about that friend who moved away?" asked Ash. "Right before he left though, we promised to still be friends, even when we're apart. I still remember him though. He's engraved into my mind. I still got room for you. I'll still remember you, I promise."

"Really?" asked Serena.

"Yeah," said Ash. "I promise."

The next day, before Serena left, she went by the lake to check if Ash was there. He wasn't. She frowned, and smiled immediately.

"He'll remember me," thought Serena. "And I promise that I'll remember him."

End of Flashback

Serena tossed her cup of tea to Ash's face, making the boy start yelling out and squirm around at the burning sensation.

"And that guy forgot anyway," said Serena as she clenched her fist. Ash just stopped yelling and fell back to sleep in seconds. Serena sighed.

"After all this time, this is the type of greeting I get from Ash," said Serena.

"He's an idiot," said Brendan. "I think he'll remember you at some point."

"I hope he does," said Serena. "I never liked anyone who said mean things about Ash. I even took a dislike to my friends whenever someone said something bad about him. If I knew about him leaving Pallet Town, I would've traveled with him, trying to help him get friends and to help him stay out of trouble. I wouldn't want him to get into any trouble. I wouldn't like it if he gets into trouble and make him have to worry every second of his life." Brendan choked up some of his tea.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," said Brendan, as he looked at Ash. "Dude, you're screwed." Serena smiled.

"But you guys are good people," said Serena. "I'm glad he found you." May looked towards Ash. She frowned. She knew she got him into trouble, but what could she do about it?

The next day, Ash woke up energized and fully recovered. When he woke up everybody, he noticed Serena was one of them. He stared at her when she woke up.

"Good morning, Ash," said Serena. Ash didn't speak to her, only just stared at her. When the others woke up, he turned to them.

"Guys, I think an intruder came into our camp and slept here," said Ash. "Should I kick her out?"

"No you should not," said Dawn. "This is Serena. She says she knows you from Pallet Town."

"Who the fuck is Serena?"

Serena swiftly punched Ash on his stomach, making him fall back holding his stomach. After they prepared everything, Brendan decided that he'll let Serena stay with them until they get to the next city. May was still asleep. Ash was poking at her cheek to wake her up, but she just smacked his hand away and continued to doze off. While Ash was doing that, Brendan shook their canteen, and didn't hear any water in it.

"Ash, I need you to get some water for us," said Brendan. "There's a stream of water passing by not too far from here." Ash held out his hand, and Brendan threw the canteen in it. Ash headed out, with the help of Pikachu to find the stream.

"I'll go with him," said Serena, chasing after Ash.

"You two be careful," said Brendan. May opened one eye and looked around. She didn't see Ash anywhere.

Ash and Serena walked through the calm path in silence. Serena tried to get his attention by yawning and stretching, but he didn't care. She just walked on. She hummed, but Ash didn't turn back to look at her.

"So Ash, how has it been since you've left Pallet Town?" asked Serena. Ash stopped and turned back to look at her.

"You were behind me?"

"It's like he's totally trying to ignore me!" thought Serena. "Good joke, Ash Ketchum." She walked on while taking Ash's ear and dragging him towards the stream. When they got there, Ash sat down by it and started taking some water. Serena sat down by him and smiled. The water was clear, so she could make out the bottom of it.

"Remember this?" asked Serena. "Back in Pallet Town, we sat down by a river and watched the Pokemon swim around in it. We talked and talked until you or I had to go home. Remember those times."

"Yeah," said Ash, shocking Serena. "And I dropped a plate in the river, a son of a bitch comes and fucks things up, I get sent back in time...oh, wait a minute. That wasn't you."

"What is he saying!" thought Serena. Ash finished getting water, and he stood to walk back to his friends, but was stopped by Serena. She pulled him back down to the ground.

"Wait here for a minute," said Serena. "This type of thing just brings back memories of the times we spent together."

"Really?" asked Ash, confused. Serena nodded. After a few minutes of just sitting there, Serena turned to Ash.

"Ash, I-"

Ash was suddenly pushed into the stream. Serena watched him gasp for air as he was carried by the stream. Serena looked to her side and saw May looking towards Ash.

"I'm sorry!" she called out. "I forgot you were near a river."

"When did you get here?" asked Serena.

"I came from the woods," said May with a smile.

After finding Ash near some rocks, they went back to the campsite. After walking for a while, they came to the entrance of LaRousse City. The city was already packed with people, but they were able to get a room in the Pokemon Center.

"Thank goodness," said Dawn.

"We're even luckier to get rooms for ourselves," said Brendan.

"You sure it was a good idea to leave that campsite before Drew came back?" asked May. "What if he comes back and doesn't see us. He'll be scared to death."

"Don't worry, we'll find him," said Brendan. "He'll come at a totally random time. Trust me. I'm gonna go get some more supplies at the PokeMart. Dawn, wanna come with me?" Dawn nodded, and they left.

"I'll be taking Ash then," said Serena as she took Ash's arm and dragged him away.

"I'm coming with you guys," said May as she followed them.

The three pretty much just explored the city together. Using Ash's money, the two girls bought ice cream for themselves. After a while, they came across the fair that was going on towards the other side of LaRousse City. When they got there, the place wasn't as crowded as it was outside. The first place the two girls wanted to go to was the Ferris Wheel, and they wanted to get on one with Ash.

"Ash, we're going on the Ferris Wheel!" said both girls simultaneously. They stared at each other. Ash groaned.

"I don't feel like going on one of those right now," said Ash.

"You're gonna do it whether you want to or not!" said both girls again. They pushed Ash in the box. Two seats were on each side of the box, Serena was able to beat May to a seat, and she sat down by Ash, making May sit on the other side alone. She forgot about it as soon as they started going up. She enjoyed seeing how high they were. As Ash look out, he felt something grab his arm. He looked down and saw Serena closing her eyes, holding on tightly to Ash.

"Um..."

"D-Don't even think that I'm afraid of heights, because I'm not," said Serena. Ash shrugged and looked out the window again. May looked at them with jealousy written all over her face, but she just looked out. When they were done, they went to the booths. Serena picked out a necklace and tried it on, and she looked at Ash.

"How do I look?"

"Nice," said Ash without even looking at her. May picked out jewelry as well, but then she turned and saw a mall off to the distance. She smiled and took Ash's arm.

"Ash, wanna go shopping after this?" asked May.

"Shopping?" said Ash. "Oh, shopping. Alright, I'll go. Hey, um, I saw something over there. I'll be right back." Ash took a few steps forward, looked back at May, continued walking, and looked back at May. He took a few more, looked back, and then ran. May smiled, knowing she would have to go after him now.

"Hey May, why does Ash have gray eyes?" asked Serena. May froze. The question just came out of nowhere. She didn't expect Serena to ask her about Ash's changed appearance. She looked down.

"I-I don't like talking about it," she was able to get out. "You can go ask Brendan or Dawn."

"Did something happen to him?" asked Serena. May put a hand on her chest.

"You could say that," said May. "I just don't enjoy seeing his chest anymore. She then ran off after Ash to find him. Serena watched her go, and then paid for the necklace.

Later that night, in the Pokemon Center, Serena snuck into Ash's room. They were able to get separate rooms for themselves. She saw the boy snoring in his bed. She walked over to it and kneeled by it. She brushed off Ash's hair from his face and smiled. She was glad she was able to see Ash again. After May told her about Ash, she got curious. She asked Brendan and Dawn, but they tried brushing off the question. She pulled down the blanket from the top part of his body. She gulped and slowly pulled up his shirt. Suddenly, she blushed and fell back.

"I feel like a pervert," thought Serena. "I should just leave right now and pretend I never thought of this." She got up and started walking out, but she came back immediately.

"Just a small peek."

She continued pulling off the blankets. As she did, May sat up from Ash's bed from underneath the blankets, and she looked at Serena.

"What are you doing?" she asked. Serena screamed and fell backwards. This made Ash stir in his sleep. Serena blushed and looked at May.

"W-Why are you on his bed?" asked Serena.

"He enjoys it when I sleep with him," answered May. Ash sat up from his slumber and looked at May, who smiled at him.

"Had a nice nap?" asked May. Ash growled, and within seconds, he chased May out of his room, who was just laughing as she skipped along the halls. Ash looked back at Serena sternly.

"Were you sleeping on my bed?" he asked. Serena violently shook her head.

"No, never," said Serena. Ash then dropped back down on his bed and slept. Serena just sat there, still shocked.

In the woods outside of LaRousse City, a portal opened up. A Dark Signer stepped out of the portal. He looked back at the portal and took out a book. He whispered a spell, and something started coming out of the portal as well. Some kind of black ooze started coming out. A whole bunch came out, making the pile as high as a tree. After he finished, he put his book away and walked towards the portal, but looked at the ooze once more. It started moving, and noises could be heard. Deformed, yellow eyes could be seen all over it.

"Pitiful Pokemon," said the Dark Signer. "We tried to turn you guys into Shadow Pokemon, but you're just failed experiments. We could fix you back up, but too bad Vexen is no longer here with us. Do whatever you want. You'll be attracted to someone filled with light." He entered the portal, and it closed shut. The pile of ooze started moving, and it headed towards LaRousse City.

Ash opened his eyes and looked around. He looked around the room, and then he saw Serena.

"Where's May?" he asked.

"You kicked her out, remember?" said Serena. They then heard a scream from outside. Pikachu's ears perked up, and it looked around.

"Pika!"

"Dammit, May," said Ash, and he put on his blue vest and sneakers, and with Pikachu on his shoulder, ran outside.

"Wait for me!" yelled Serena as she followed. They ran outside, where they started hearing more screaming. Soon after, Brendan and Dawn came out as well.

"Where's May?" asked Dawn. They looked out to the distance, and saw a huge purple blob with huge yellow eyes and tentacles wrecking the city.

"What the hell is that?!" yelled Brendan.

"It's a Shadow Pokemon," said Ash.

"Shadow Pokemon?" asked Serena. "Ash, what's going on?" Pikachu tapped Ash's head, and he ran towards where it was pointing. When they got close enough to the blob, Ash's eyes widened. May was attached to its back, and her body seemed as if it was going in it slowly. Ash saw other people in it as well.

"MAY!" yelled Ash. He charged towards the blob, but it turned and crashed its tentacles into the boy, crashing him against a building. Serena watched in horror. She ran towards Ash.

"Oh my Arceus," said Serena. "Ash, are you okay?" Ash stood up, with no injuries on him. He looked back up at the blob. Police were trying to shoot it down, but it didn't work. The blob just pushed them aside. It then took some people and attached them to its body as they are being absorbed in. Brendan and Dawn came, and they watched in horror.

"It's got May," said Dawn. "We've gotta save her."

"How did this thing even show up?" asked Brendan. "We should've seen it from miles away."

"The Dark Signers did it," said Ash. "I felt one while I was asleep. He's not here anymore. They must've dumped this thing and ran off."

"We've gotta put it down before it hurts more people," said Brendan as he took out a Pokeball.

"Who are these Dark Signers?" asked Serena. "Ash, tell me what's going on. I'm getting scared." Ash stood up and walked ahead of Serena.

"Just sit back," said Ash. "I'll take care of this." Ash then extended out his hand, making his Aura Blade materialize. Serena watched in awe.

"What the hell happened to you in just one year, Ash?" asked Serena.

"Shit happened," said Ash. Ash created an Aura Sphere in his hand and tossed it at the blob. It struck, but the blob wasn't affected, and it looked back at Ash.

"Come and get me, ugly," mocked Ash. It tried to strike Ash with a tentacle, but Ash just cut it. It tried hitting Ash with another, but Ash grabbed onto it and was launched at the sky. It sent more tentacles towards Ash, but he just cut right through them. He then came down on its body and he tried stabbing it, but it just went in, but had no effect. Its body was like jelly. It smacked Ash away, but he got back up. He tossed out two Pokeballs, and out came Grovyle and Staravia.

"Try to cover me," said Ash, and Grovyle, Staravia, and Pikachu nodded. They charged at the blob. Serena stood still, still in shock. Brendan tapped her back to get her out of her shock.

"Come on, he said to cover him," said Brendan. He and Dawn took out Pokeballs and Brendan sent out Aggron and Dawn tossed out a Pokeball and sent out Togekiss.

"I got this Pokemon from Salvia," said Dawn. "Salvia gave it to me before we left her castle. Now would be a good time to use it." They told their Pokemon to use attacks on the huge blob, but the attacks did no affect at all. The blob blew away Pokemon one by one. Soon, within a few minutes, all their Pokemon were exhausted. The blob also beat up Ash pretty bad as well. Ash continued to strike it with his blade, but it took him and rammed him into the ground.

"Ash!" yelled Serena, and she went by him and saw him forcing himself to get up. She saw the Aura Blade in his hand.

"Ash, where did you get that?" asked Serena.

"I don't have time to be answering questions," said Ash, and he used his blade to get up, but he fell back down.

"Ash, you don't have to fight anymore," said Serena. "Let the authorities take care of this."

"Bullshit," said Ash, and he made himself get to his two feet.

"You have been getting into trouble lately, haven't you?" asked Serena as she hugged Ash from behind. "What happened, Ash? May told me something happened to you that made you like this. I'm worried about you. You don't have to do this anymore."

"I stabbed myself for her," said Ash, making Serena freeze. "I stabbed myself for her and lost my heart." He pulled up his shirt and showed Serena the x-shaped scar on his chest.

"It hurt like hell, but it was worth it, just so she can live today," said Ash as he put his shirt down. "I'm gonna protect her. She's a princess of the Ransei region, and her life has been entrusted with me. Anyone who makes an enemy of her is an enemy of her. I'm gonna take May back from that thing, and then blow it up to pieces." He ran towards the blob with an aura covered fist. He punched it, but its body bounced back and pushed Ash, making him ram into a house. He stood back up and gave a roar and came right back. Serena watched him try to cut the blob. A tear came down her face when she saw May. A smile forced its way to her mouth.

"I always wanted Ash to have someone he cares about," thought Serena. "I hoped it could be me, but he found her instead."

"Kick its ass, Ash!" yelled Serena as she took out a Pokeball and released Rhyhorn to fight as well. Ash covered his leg in aura and kneed the blob's face, and he then covered his hand in aura and punched, making it get pushed back. He then took his Aura Blade and started cutting it.

"GIVE BACK MAY, ASSHOLE!" yelled Ash. It took him and threw him away. He crashed to the ground and looked up at the blob.

"I just need an opening," thought Ash, and then suddenly, Drew came screaming from the sky and crashed into the blob, distracting it.

"I FUCKING SAW THAT COMING!" yelled Brendan, "I TOLD YOU HE'D COME AT A CONVENIENT TIME!" Drew then fell to the ground, unconscious with his eyes swirling. When the blob turned back to Ash, it saw the boy in front of it with an Aura Sphere on both of his hands.

"Nice going, Drew!" called out Ash, and he crashed both Aura Spheres into the blob's face, making it explode in its face. Every attempt to get Ash was cut off by the Pokemon who destroyed its tentacles for Ash. Ash created Aura Spheres over and over again. After a few times, its face started to become deformed, and it knocked Ash away, but in midair, Ash turned to it with his blue, fierce eyes. Aura was escaping from his mouth.

"Let May go, dammit!" he yelled, and he shot out a large quantity of aura from his mouth, and it struck the blob's face. Within a few seconds, its face was ripped off, and without a mind, the whole body crumbled to the ground. Ash fell to the ground, but then ran towards the falling May. He caught her and they both fell to the ground. She opened her eyes and groggily sat up and looked down at the goo covered Ash.

"Why the hell were you outside at this time?" asked Ash.

"The bathroom had a huge line, so I went outside," said May. "Sorry."

"Idiot," said Ash as he wiped off goo from his face.

"That's what you get for kicking me out of your room," said May. Serena came to them. She smiled.

The next day. The blob didn't do a lot of damage to the city, so people didn't have to stay in their houses. During the ruckus, Ash and his friends' rooms were confused with someone else, making them lose their place to sleep. Realizing that Ash and his friends were going to someplace else, Serena decided that it was the time to part ways with them. They walked her out of the city.

"I hope I get to see you guys again," said Serena. "Please take care of Ash for me."

"No problem," said Brendan.

"We'll try, but I can't guarantee it," said Dawn. "Look what happened to Drew." They turned back and saw the boy rubbing an ice pack on his head.

"What happened to you anyway?" asked Brendan.

"I don't remember," said Drew. "Rayquaza..."

"Watch over him, too," said Serena. "I can sense he's a step away from his grave." They nodded.

"We're sorry Ash couldn't remember you," said Dawn. "He'll remember some other time."

"I remember her," said Ash suddenly, shocking everyone and making them look at him surprised. "But not all of her though. I remember a girl I met in Pallet Town who I enjoyed talking to, but I don't remember anything about her. But since you say it's you, I'll trust you. I don't know anything about you, but it'll come back to me at some point, maybe after I hit my head or something." Serena smiled. She then looked at May. She then motioned for her to come to her. May did, and Serena suddenly hugged her.

"Make sure he doesn't do all the protecting," whispered Serena. "Protect him, too." She then pulled May away. May looked at her and then smiled.

"I already know that," said May. Serena nodded. She felt a tear coming up.

"You're lucky," she said. She then blinked back her tears and started walking away. They waved goodbye. When she was out of sight, Ash looked at May.

"What did she say to you?" he asked. May smiled at him.

"I'll be protecting you too, Ash," said May.

"What?" asked Ash.

"Let's go and find a place to rest tonight," said May. "I'll find it for us. Let's go find a map of the city." She then ran back to the city, and the others followed. Ash turned back to see if Serena was there, but didn't, and then he kept running.

Ash lied on the ground unconscious as a tree cracked in half lay next to him. Lnoki and Drew walked over to him to check if he was okay.

"Nice going, old man," said Drew as he tried to wake up Ash.

"Did I punch him too hard?" asked Lnoki. "He must've hit his head real hard." Ash slowly opened his eyes. He sat up and rubbed his head.

"Are you okay, Ash?" asked Lnoki. "You should've blocked that hit."

"Serena," whispered Ash.

"Who?"

"Nothing," said Ash as he stood up. "Let's keep going."

"Wanna take a break, Ash?" asked Drew.

"No," said Ash. "I can't waste time. I've gotta get back to May and the others soon." Lnoki nodded and stood in front of Ash to start training again. Before they fought, Ash smirked.

"I've got a lot of things to talk about now, Serena," thought Ash, and Lnoki and he charged at each other.
