This is the one-hundredth second chapter in the Pokemon Heroes. I have been given some great ideas for season 5 by darkboy18. Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I do not own Pokemon or any of the songs.

(Opening song)

Ash rolled his arms around and stretched. It was early, and Ash was already ready to train. Everyone else was sleeping. Last night, Ash felt like he could break apart any second. Now, he felt great. Pikachu, who had been doing nothing but watch its trainer and his training, woke up next morning and looked at its trainer. When Ash sensed its presence, he looked towards it and smiled.

"Morning buddy," said Ash as he prepared Pokemon food for his Pokemon. "Those lazy farts didn't wake up yet. It's already eight. They should've gone to sleep early last night." Pikachu slowly nodded, and Ash laid down the dish for Pikachu to eat it. After a while of just talking to Pikachu, Drew suddenly popped up from his sleeping bag.

"Exploding cabbages!" yelled Drew. Lnoki was startled by this and sat up immediately, ready to fight.

"Where?" asked Lnoki. "Where are the exploding cabbages?"

"It was just Drew," said Ash as Drew fell back to sleep in his sleeping bag. "You afraid of cabbages or something?"

"Exploding cabbages are no game, Ketchum," said Lnoki. "You wouldn't understand at your age."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," said Ash. Lnoki started rubbing his eyes. He took a closer look around and saw Pikachu eating with Ash completely awake already.

"When did you wake up?" asked Lnoki.

"A while ago," said Ash. "When do we start training?"

"Alright. Let's go and start training, but it won't be the easy one like yesterday."

"Yesterday was the easy one?" asked Ash, so shocked that he almost choked on his food. Lnoki just smiled and walked over to Ash.

"Move it," said Lnoki. "I've gotta make breakfast for us."

Make a Man Out of You

Ash and the others walked deep into the forest and walked out about an hour later near a waterfall.

"Damn, this is beautiful," said Drew. "I've gotta take a bath in this!" He started running towards it, but Lnoki stopped him and looked towards Ash.

"There is a Chansey egg up there with a newborn Chansey on a nest at the top of the waterfall," said Lnoki. "I saw it there before, but I couldn't do anything to help it."

"Why not?" asked Ash.

"A Shadow Pokemon is up there," said Lnoki. "I haven't seen it, but I've sensed its presence."

"And you want me to do what exactly?" asked Ash.

"I want you to retrieve it for me," said Lnoki. "There is a group of Chanseys nearby, and they're worried sick about their baby. I told them I'd get it back, but I'll leave that to you. This is your training session today."

"Now why should I do something that you promised to do?"

"You're doing it, or else your training is invalid."

"How the hell do you make it invalid?" asked Ash as he looked up at the waterfall. "Fine, I'll do it, but I don't want to be wasting my day on this. When we're done, we're going back to real training."

"Of course," said Lnoki. "Go ahead. Don't think it'll be easy though."

"Whatever," said Ash, and he started climbing the rocks by the waterfall to head to the top, but was suddenly stopped when a Pokemon came out of the bushes and knocked him down with its arms at his neck. He immediately sat down and started coughing.

"What *cough* was that?" asked Ash. What stood in front of him was a Machamp, but it was a Shadow Machamp. Ash turned to Lnoki in surprise, who just shrugged.

"Did I mention that there are way more Shadow Pokemon in this area?" said Lnoki. "I fought one yesterday while I was collecting wood, so be careful. They are strong. They all seem to be competing for that egg."

"Oh, now you tell me," said Ash. The Machamp charged at him again, but he got out of the way and kicked it up its face. It stood there, but it was obviously up phased by Ash's kick. It looked sternly at Ash and grabbed him with its four arms. It started bringing him into a bear hug. Ash yelled in pain as it was crushing his insides.

"Calm your tits, dude," said Drew as he took out a Pokeball with Pikachu next to him, ready to attack as well, but Lnoki held them back.

"What are you doing?" asked Drew.

"I want Ash to deal with this by himself," said Lnoki.

"But what if he dies?" asked Drew.

"He won't as long as he's careful," said Lnoki. "He must face this himself." Drew thought, and then backed down as he watched Ash continue to yell in pain. He saw Ash's eyes flash blue. Ash then kneed the Pokemon in the abdomen, fazing it to let it drop Ash. As soon as he dropped to the ground, he punched it multiple times with aura covered fists as it staggered backwards. He then created an Aura Sphere in his hand and rammed it into the Pokemon's stomach. It was blown away from the force and it crashed into the waterfall's cliff. Ash breathed heavily, and then turned to Lnoki.

"I told you it was easy," said Ash. Lnoki just pointed forward, and when Ash turned, the Machamp was in front of him about to punch him, but Ash quickly materialized his Aura Blade and slashed its body. It fell to the ground, and then it slowly started to disappear.

"Did Ash just kill it?" asked Drew.

"We can't blame him," said Lnoki as he walked towards Ash. "He did it out of instinct. Also, through research of professors, if Shadow Pokemon stay in that form for a while, they typically die inside, leaving only a controlled vessel. These Pokemon have been reported here for months. Poor things." Drew watched the Machamp completely disappear. He frowned.

Gary returned to Sephiroth's island through the portal. He moved his neck around and walked towards the log cabin. He entered and walked towards Sephiroth, who was in the room with the low table.

"That was a tough mission, Gary," said Sephiroth. "I'm actually surprised you came back okay."

"It wasn't that hard," said Gary as he tossed the item to Sephiroth. Sephiroth smirked and looked at the small, yellow orb in his hand. Gary watched him as he sat down across from him.

"When's my next mission?" asked Gary.

"Already?" asked Sephiroth. "You must really be eager to start new missions."

"I don't give a fuck about these missions," said Gary. "All I want is to become stronger, nothing else. Where's Misty?"

"Retrieving something for me in Ecruteak City," said Sephiroth. "I'm not assigning her missions for a while. She got pretty beaten up on her last one. She failed it. Don't tell her I said that though."

"Does this mean I'm gonna have to pick up on her work?"

"How did you find that out so fast?" asked Sephiroth with a playful smirk. Gary sighed, and then looked back at the orb.

"I know I've asked you this before, but what do you plan on doing with those?"

"Stuff you wouldn't understand yet," said Sephiroth. "Get along now. Go fish. I'll send you on a mission soon enough." Gary stared at him and stood and proceeded to walk out of the room. He exited the room, but then stopped. He could swear he heard snickers coming from Sephiroth inside. He looked around, and then he looked back at the door. He then ran away.

Ash was breathing heavily. Already, he was attacked by two Shadow Machamps, two Shadow Hitmonlees, and three Shadow Hariyamas. He already felt beaten and battered up. Lnoki and Pikachu watched from the sky on Drew's Flygon since they didn't want to get attacked by the Shadow Pokemon.

"Get up, Ketchum!" yelled Lnoki. "If you sit down like that, they'll come and kill you." Ash flipped his middle finger at Lnoki, and then forcefully stood up with the help of his Aura Blade. While he stood, he felt a Shadow Pokemon coming towards him. He turned back and saw a Shadow Magikarp. Ash looked up at Lnoki.

"Really?" asked Ash. Lnoki shrugged. Ash turned away from the Magikarp, not even considering it as an enemy. Suddenly, it started to evolve. Ash lowered his head in disappointment when he saw the Shadow Gyarados.

"You're screwed!" yelled out Drew.

"Shut up!" yelled Ash. The Gyarados smacked Ash with its long tail, forcing the boy to skid backwards. It used its tail to strike Ash again, but Ash grabbed it easily and sternly looked at it.

"What else you've got?" asked Ash. "I wanna see it!" The Gyarados then lifted its tail, bringing Ash along with it as it started to swing Ash around, Ash tried his best to hang on, but he felt himself losing his grip. He covered his hands in aura, and with the added strength, held Gyarados and tossed it into the water. He breathed and looked at Lnoki.

"Wanna see me beat more?" asked Ash. Lnoki smiled. They then heard buzzing. Drew looked behind them and his eyes widened. He motioned Lnoki to look, and they saw a bunch of Shadow Yanmegas heading towards them.

"Get to the ground!' ordered Lnoki, and Flygon flew them to the ground. The Pokemon immediately headed towards them still.

"They're attracted to the light in someone's heart," explained Lnoki. "I guess they're after you, Drew."

"But I don't wanna get beaten up," said Drew. Lnoki looked towards Ash, who was watching the Pokemon chase them around and smirked.

"I have an idea," said Lnoki. "Fly by Ash." Flygon did, and when it passed Ash, Lnoki winked at him. Ash looked at them go and looked back to see the Shadow Pokemon.

"You sneaky basterd," muttered Ash, and he took out his Aura Blade and once again prepared to fight. He created an Aura Sphere and tossed it at the Yanmegas, which caused an explosion that spread them out. They group back together and they started to fly around Ash.

"I think you got them pissed," said Drew.

"You think?" asked Ash. The Yanmegas then started to attack Ash by head-butting the boy in too many directions. Ash couldn't block it without attacking the wrong Pokemon. He groaned as it continued to hit him without any resistance. He fell to his knees, not having the strength to go on.

"Come on, Ketchum," said Lnoki. "What would the princess think of you if she sees you on your knees?" Ash glared at him and stood back up as aura surrounded him.

"Don't go there, Lnoki," said Ash as his eyes returned blue. "Don't even think about it!" A Yanmega charged at Ash, but he punched it to the ground. His body was then engulfed in aura, and he charged at all the Yanmegas and started beating them all up. While he did that, the Shadow Gyarados rose back up from the water and charged a hyper beam in its mouth and aimed it at Ash. When Ash was done with the Yanmegas, he charged at Gyarados and crashed into its stomach.

"Can't you see I'm busy here?!" he yelled as he kicked it back into water with his aura covered foot and threw a bunch of Aura Spheres in there, causing explosions. Ash landed on the ground, and he started laughing like a maniac.

"Is he okay?" asked Drew.

"He's fine," said Lnoki. "Just getting greedy with his power."

Gary forced the door within the cabin open. He looked inside the room. He was in the basement of the cabin. Sephiroth was someplace else away from the cabin. He started to wonder what they'll do with the items they get after they defeat the Dark Signers. Will they let them go back to the wild? Will they keep them and use them for themselves? He had to know. This was one room in the cabin Sephiroth forbade him to look into. He knew he'd get in trouble, but what the heck. It was a good sized room that could fit a person. It had stone walls and a desk at the end of it. The room was dark. Gary walked to the desk and went towards the candle on it. With a small spark from his finger, he lit it and fire grew on it. He opened a drawer. Inside were papers, just lots and lots of papers. He looked at one, and his eyes widened. On it was the orb he just got for Sephiroth. He looked through most of the papers. On them were plans and diagrams all planned out. Several other items he got for his master were written in the papers. He slowly put them all back and noticed the scratch marks on the desk. He looked at the walls. Once again, scratch marks. Words were also written in the walls.

Why do they pester me?

More.

POWER.

Throne of the world!

AARON

The last one was in all caps. Gary scratched his head, and then looked back outside the door. He blew out the candle and walked out of the room and locked it again to make it look like he never went in. He walked back upstairs. Sephiroth was back into the room with the table. He looked in it for a while as he saw his master staring outside. Gary sighed.

"I want the truth, now," thought Gary, and he walked in.

It had passed nearly hours since Ash and the others came into the area. Shadow Pokemon were scattered all over the ground. Some he just defeated. He now refused to kill them, mostly afraid that some of them might still be themselves. They disappeared one by one anyway.

"Ash, isn't it time to go and retrieve that egg?" asked Lnoki. Ash looked sternly at him. The blue in his eyes hadn't faded yet.

"Didn't you want him to keep on fighting?" asked Drew.

"Yeah, but something feels strange," said Lnoki. "Something just doesn't feel right with him. He's refusing to take the egg, and he just keeps on fighting over and over again. I'm beginning to see that he's becoming a barbarian." To his surprise, Ash finally stood and staggered towards the egg. He finally got up without any Pokemon attacking him. He smirked at Lnoki as he knocked on the egg.

"How do you like that?" asked Ash. "I already finished." He was about to take the egg, but some wind violently pushed him down the ledge. He landed on his feet, and caught the egg before it hit the ground, which had fallen as well. He heard a shriek through the sky and was surprised to see one more Shadow Pokemon enter the battle. It was a Shadow Aerodactyl. It spread its demonic turned wings and gave out another shriek. Lnoki looked at it surprisingly.

"Those Dark Signers are becoming impressive," thought Lnoki. "They actually did it. They revived an ancient Pokemon." It looked down at Ash, and then charged at the boy on the ground. The boy quickly reacted and he threw the egg towards Drew before it got damaged. The Aerodactyl then crashed its talons on Ash's body, pinning the boy to the ground.

"Shit," said Drew. "That thing looks pretty tough. You sure we shouldn't help Ash?"

"I'm very sure," said Lnoki. "He's going to have to learn to do things himself. He has to get stronger in order for him to protect his friends, remember?" Drew nodded. The Aerodactyl shrieked once again.

"SHUT UP!" yelled Ash and he created an Aura Sphere and tossed it at the Pokemon's face. It shrieked in pain and flew up towards the sky with Ash holding on to its feet. Ash started to tickle it, but it did no affect at all as it tried to shake Ash off, but the boy held on with the strength he had in himself, but after his battle with the other Shadow Pokemon, he started to think that he couldn't fight on.

"Don't give up, Ash!" yelled Lnoki. "Don't even think about giving up!"

"You talk to me like I don't know that myself!" yelled Ash as the Aerodactyl tossed him into the air and went after him. He looked down at the approaching Pokemon and covered his fists in aura. He crashed both of his fists on Aerodactyl's face making the Pokemon spin around in pain once again. Ash kicked it towards the ground and it crashed. He created two Aura Spheres and threw one after another at Aerodactyl, causing an explosion and an explosion over and over again. He continued to do it until he felt like he didn't have any aura left in him as he descended to the ground. Through the cloud of smoke, Aerodactyl charged at Ash and head-butted the boy, making him cough up blood, and then smacked its tail on him to make him fall to the ground. He hit the ground hard and groaned. He tried standing up, but the Pokemon used air slash to push Ash back down. It felt like whips hitting him. Ash dodged the last one and charged towards it with his Aura Blade, but it used steel wing to push Ash on the ground away from it. Ash couldn't get up anymore.

"Not now, Ketchum!" yelled Lnoki. "You still have to beat this thing. You said you wanted to finish you're training as soon as possible, right? For what? Do you remember the reason why you wanted to get this over with?" Ash touched his forehead which was covered in blood and stood up and looked at Aerodactyl.

"I want to get back to my friends," said Ash as his eyes turned fiercely blue and he covered his fist in aura. "I want to see the smile on their faces when I get back. I want Brendan to annoy me, Dawn to bitch me out, and May to always stay by my side." Aerodactyl charged at Ash.

"I even want Drew there just so he can be the retarded guy!" yelled Ash as he slammed his fist at its face and pushed it away from him. Aura started to come out of his mouth. He looked fiercely at Aerodactyl.

"I won't let anyone hurt them!" yelled Ash. "I will put my life on the line just for them!" He then released a large quantity of aura from his mouth and shot it at Aerodactyl before it got up. Lnoki's eyes widened when he saw the attack.

"Is that the Aura Blast? From his mouth?" thought Lnoki. When the attack ended, Aerodactyl was out cold on the ground. Ash was breathing heavily, and then he fell to the ground unconscious. Lnoki smiled.

"That's enough training for today, Ketchum," he thought as the Shadow Aerodactyl was disappearing.

Gary walked into the room his master was in. He sat down across from Sephiroth. Sephiroth diverted his attention to him after he sensed his presence.

"Are you gonna ask me for another mission?" asked Sephiroth.

"No," said Gary, and then he bowed down. "I apologize for my ignorance. I have entered the room you forbade me to go in. I saw the papers and the writings on the wall. I apologize greatly, but I really wanted to know what we'd do with the items after we beat the Dark Signers." Gary looked at Sephiroth. For about ten seconds, anger was shown on his face, but it disappeared and a playful smirk appeared instead.

"I can't blame a curious mind," said Sephiroth. "I'm just gonna come clean with you. Back then, I was a crazy man to tell the truth. I was mad at the world. I wanted everything to become a better place. One day, I heard about The Dark Signers' plans to get the legendary items and use them for evil, so I've decided to get them myself. With all the legendaries gathered, you can control the world. You can change it. I've researched their locations precisely day and night. I couldn't get them myself, and I wanted an apprentice to help me. That's when I met you in Pallet Town. You remember those days? With them, I can change the world to become a better place. There will be no more fighting or evil. It'll be peaceful. Does that answer your question, Gary?" Gary stared at him, and then bowed again.

"Thank you, master," said Gary. "You can give me any mission, no matter how hard it is, as punishment."

"No punishment for you," said Sephiroth. "Misty will be coming back soon. I want you to wait by the shore and help her bring in my stuff." Gary nodded and walked out. When Sephiroth heard the front door close, he smirked.

"Kids," thought Sephiroth. "They'll believe anything you tell them."

Ash suddenly sat up from his slumber. He rubbed his face. He once again had those dreams. He looked around, and saw that it was night. Bandages were all over him. A fire was blazing as Drew slept in his own sleeping bag. He touched his head to remember something, and then his eyes widened. He looked around.

"It's gone, Ash," said Lnoki behind him. "You beat it." Ash turned to him.

"Did I do well?" asked Ash.

"Of course. Better than I expected. I returned the egg to the Chanseys. At this rate, you'll be finished soon so you can return to your friends faster."

"Finally," said Ash as he lied back down and tried to sleep again. Lnoki smiled.

"You're improving way too fast," said Lnoki. "What you did to that Aerodatcyl was power borrowed from The Aura Beast. I sensed it. It gave you power to fight back. You're already building a bond with it. I'm proud of you, Ash." Ash didn't say a word. He just turned away from Lnoki and fell asleep. After a few minutes, Lnoki stood and took out the fire, and then went to sleep himself.

(Ending song)
