Book 8: Magic.
Chapter 2. The lament of a white tiger.
"Quicksilver?" Edgar said to himself. "That's a very rare source of magical oil."
"Can you located this "Quicksilver" Edgard?" Raimas asked.
Egard then focused his glasses. "If I can find an unnatural source of magic. Then I might be able to-"
"NOT HAPPENING, NERD!"
Suddenly the machine of Parro was bombarded with dark orbs. The two towers that made up the legendary machine began to break apart. Finally the mirror that acted as a monitor, shattered.
Everyone was shocked. The machine of Parro...was no more.
"T-T-T-T." Edgard stuttered before letting out a scream. "OHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! MY RESEARCH!" Edgard then fell to the floor and fainted.
"Well, Well." Everyone turned to the source of the voice. And saw both Gaul standing there. His palm smoking with a dark fire.
"It's been a long time, Reimas..." Gaul said darkly.
"Istravan..." Reimas whispered staggering back.
"HAHAHAHAHA!" Suddenly, Kaos walked out from behind the white tiger. "Nice shot, Gaul. It was a shame we had to destroy such an awesome relic. But you know, stuff happens..."
"Istravan...The Crimson Mercenary...How could you take on such a vile form?" Lady Anmilse said disgusted.
"Vile" Is such a strong word, Lady Anmilse..." Gaul said casually. "I prefer...Unhinged...Is the proper word to use here."
"Picky, picky, Coming from a first rate villain. I expected you to be a little...Primitive." Polly said trying to hide her smirk.
"Picky, picky, coming from a girl with purple hair. Did you used to be a blond, or brunette?" Gaul asked joking.
"I got this hair from my MOM!" Polly yelled steamed.
"Was that before, or after you were born?" Gaul joked again. Earning a angry look from Polly.
"Somebody needs to take a few dozens of catnip and call it a day..." Polly mumbled.
"SILANCE!" Kaos shouted. "We're leaving. Don't worry...We going to come back and destroy you all." Kaos said to the humans. He then turned to Gaul and barked. "GAUL! Take me home, I'm in horrible pain."
Kaos then hopped onto Gaul's back. The white then march off.
"...Now I see why Guin stopped being your friend..." Suddenly Spirito dropped from a window. "Your noting more then a big striped idiotic jerk."
"Spirito!" Reimas shouted.
"Unbelievable..." Lady Anmlise gasped at Spirito's entrance.
"Well, well, well." Gaul then turned toward the phantom's direction and dropped Kaos before saying. "The spirit who weaved Guin's fate..."
"I don't created fate. I change it." Spirito said summoning his shears.
"So...You were involved in this..." Gaul said darkly.
"Spirito...Just who are you?!" Reimas asked.
"Who?" Gaul said turning towards the humans. "Why...He's the mastermind behind it all. He was the one who has pulled Guin's strings...no..." Gaul then began to growl at Spirito. "He's been controlling all of us!"
At that moment Edgard began to wake up.
"Wh-WHHHHHHAAAAATTTTTT!?" Polly exclaimed.
"Gaul, I did not "control" People. I just set them on the right path..." Spirito explained.
"Liar! You got in the way of everyone's fate, Including mine!" Gaul yelled. "All so you can send Guin on the path YOU created for him."
"No I didn't!" Spirito augured.
"Oh really? Then explained how Guin defeated the ringworm at that river?" Gaul asked grinning.
"That's...You were there at the River of Death! You tell them!" Spirito shouted. He then realized he said something he shouldn't have. "Oh cloth..."
"Ha. I didn't say which river." Gaul said. "You were there! You came to Guin's aid! Without us knowing it!"
"OH...Cloth..." Spirito muttered.
"And don't forget all those other times...Remember the time Guin traveled to the Black Desert in search of the Lagon?"
"But...How did you...?" Spirito stuttered.
"Guin told me all about his trip. And when he feel asleep during a sandstorm and woke up on top of a clearing. Which was close to the Lagon village!" Gaul stated.
"...I...Guess...I did kinda... helped a little..." Spirito admitted. Causing everyone in the room to gasped. "But...But he was going to get buried in sand if he slept there...So I moved him...somewhere...higher...out of the sandstorms reach..."
"And what about his battle with Shidoh. It looked like Guin did the finishing blow...But Kaos showed me something lurking in the shadows...You." Gaul stated again.
"All I did was drop a big crystal on him! So what!" Spirito yelled agitated.
"You seem to care a lot about Guin...For someone who just came before him not long ago..." Gaul continued.
"Shut up." Spirito said suddenly. Earning a glare from the white tiger. He then snapped at him. "You think you a better friend for Guin! Well your not! What kind of friend suddenly says that he's going to be king someday!" Gaul then became confused.
"You could've become the greatest leader in the world. But you had to turned to Guin for help, and broke his trust in you!" Spirito yelled in anger. "You had to order Guin to get what YOU wanted, because of your EGO! No king would do that!" Spirito then gave Gaul a questioning look. "...And besides...Could you really say that you were REALLY the one that led both the Lagon and the Sem to victory? It's looks like Guin was the one who did the heavy lifting."
"SHUT UP!" Gaul then caught Spirito off guard and smashed him into a wall. He then threw him at the humans feet.
"SPIRITO!" Reimas said running to the cloth phantom's side. Reimas then picked him up.
"Ewwww... physical contact with a guy..." Spirito groaned in disgust.
"What's your problem with Guin anyway?" Edgard asked the white tiger. "It sounds like your jealous at Guin for being the leader of the Skylanders."
"BECAUSE IT'S NOT FAIR!" Gaul roared. He then calmed down. "Guin refuse my plea to be a king...And suddenly HE'S the one with all the cards. He now have a army of heroes to serve him...Like a real king. I should be the one leading the Skylanders! I should be KING!"
"...I don't think...You understand what being a portal master is all about..." Edgard began. "Listened...Is being Portal master REALLY about the power? It's not about granted your own wish. It's about helping those who are too weak to fight back. The Skylanders...are not just Guin's servents...The Skylanders...Are his friends! No matter how many times Guin lash out at them...No matter how many times he yells at them...They always come to his side. Because...They know that deep down inside...Guin cannot handle a task on his own. Even if he said he can or said that he's "Okay" Doesn't mean he's feeling like that on the inside. That's a real friendship! A real friend will stay by your side till the end!"
"Edgard..." Polly gasped at Edgard's speech.
"A...Real...Friend...?" Spirito asked weakly.
"Hmp...Even if that friend stabs you in the back?" Gaul asked.
"NO! It's because at some point. A line will have't to be drawned." Edgard explained. "Spirito was right! Asking Guin to help you become King...That's when you take it too far, Istravan."
"SHUT UP!" Gaul roared grabbing his head in anger and began to shake it. "LIES! LIES!LIES!LIES!" He then roared in a blind rage. Before getting on all fours and smashed through the wall. He then smashed his way out of the castle.
"Well...That was...eventful...But no matter..." Kaos said before fading into the shadows. "You may think Guin and the horrid Skylameos will save you...Well your wrong...Because they'll never ever ever EVER find the elemental Magic Source! So long, LOSER!" The last thing they heard from Kaos was a evil laugh that echoed throughout the chamber.
"Spirito, Hold still..." Edgard asked. He then got on his knees and began to check Spirito. He then unzip the cloth ghost's chest. The moment it was unzip, black smoke began to drift out. Followed by a series of sparks.
"My...Core...ACK!" Spirito coughed. Every time he cough, a horrible screeching noise coming from the machine sounded off.
"Amazing...The Arkyeans are actually sentient machine...And ghost, hybrids..." Edgard said to himself. He then began to study Spirito's workings. "Looks like that last hit was enough to damage your whole system!"
"...GAck!" Spirito replied by simple coughing.
"Somebody hand me a light. Polly, can you go grab the tool kit from our exploration pod?" Edgard asked. Polly nodded before running out of the room. "Reimas, Get some of your subjects here so they can savage the Machine of Parro. Maybe they can find replacements pieces for Spirito's parts."
Reimas nodded before running off. Lady Anmlise approach Edgard with a lantern in hand. She then lowered it so Edgard could see Spirito's inner-workings more clearly.
"Thank you, Lady Anmlise." Edgard said taking the lanter from the Lady of the Mongauli.
"Let just put our fate in Guin...AND the Skylanders." Lady Anmlise said.
"Guin! Skylanders! Your our only hope!"
