Book 8: Magic.
Chapter 4: From past to present.
I own noting except for ocs.
"What is with this fog! It's...so thick..." Spyro said panting. "And...How long have we been walking?"
"Hey wait up!"
Everyone turned around and saw a blue Brancosaur and a purple Ankyosaur running up to them. "Bowler? Lance? What are you two doing here?" Guin asked.
"We want to help! We're tired of doing noting!" Bowler said swinging his ball and chain around a few times.
"Kaos and Skor must answer for their crimes..." Lance said. He then slung his spear over his shoulder.
"Very well..." Guin said before turning to Kane and saying; "Your thoughts on this, Kane?"
"We,ll need all the help we could get." Kane said nodding. The group was now joined by Lance and Bowler.
The team were still crossing the chain. They soon began to see the ground. Guin then began to recognize the surroundings, it was the same rocky area that Guin crossed. Still covered in mist. Suddenly, A unnatural gust of wind blew through the area. Clearing the fog, the layout of the land was rocky as expected. Guin then looked around before turning to the team. "Let's rest for awhile. We're going to need all of our energy for the road ahead." Guin said before walking towards a cliff and sitting down. He looked back and saw the Skylanders sitting up camp.
"Wooh...My wood is barking it..." Bumble Blast said rubbing his wooden feet.
A few minutes past. Kane then tore away from the group to sit next to Guin.
"...Alright...Start talking..." Kane said suddenly.
"I don't understand..." Guin said confuse. Earning a glare from Kane.
"You know exactly what I'm talking about." Kane said before standing up. "Istravan Elsword...You know...Gaul."
Guin sighed, Not saying anything.
"...Listen, Guin..." Kane said reassuring. "There's...Something really heavy I need to tell you..." Kane then took a deep breath before saying. "...A long time ago...Skor and I used to be friends."
"Interesting." Guin said not showing emotion.
"That's it?" Kane said confuse. "Your not shocked or surprise? That was literally my darkest secret."
"I am never surprise..." Guin said with a serous look.
"Oh..." Kane said before he continued. "Skor and Skrap were orphans, they didn't had parents. One day, my farther found them wandering around the forest and took them home with him...After all, he couldn't just leave two spoiled brats alone in the woods without someone to look over them."
"Was your father a warrior?" Guin asked.
"Oh yeah, he was the one who taught me how to fight...he died a year before the ice aged hit though." Kane said sighing. "He was always acting proud and always raised his voice all the time, but he always understood me and Skor." Kane then thought a moment before chuckling. "Me and Skor used to ague all the time but dad reminded us that we both live under the same roof...And if that didn't work he would always give us a smack on the head!" Kane then began to laugh before his smile began to turn into sorrow. "Well...That was before I met Lucy, Jet, and Chow. We we're the new kids at school, And there was this bully who was always full of himself...Always picking on the hatchlings and calling everyone Dude..."
"Wait you don't mean..." Guin said upon hearing Kane's description.
"How did you expect how Jet grew up?
Guin and Kane then turned around and saw Lucy and Chow standing there.
"Uh...You heard the part where I used to be friends with Skor, Right?" Kane asked.
"Kane..." Lucy said with a mean look. "Why didn't you say anything?"
"Just let me finish...Anyway." Kane said bluntly. "He was the school bully...Well until one day...He picked on a herbivore for his weight."
"Those jokes were still mean by the way..." Chow said scratching the back of his head. Lucy then gave Chow a comforting pat on the back.
"Well, while Jet was picking on Chow, Lucy then notice them and decided to step in." Kane continue.
"Rinda, Hugo, Suni, Dudes...Did you know that I used to be a pretty bad dude?" Jet told the three as he search the cabinets for a tea kettle.
"Really?" Rinda said confuse. "That's surprising..."
"Yeah, dude...Infact, It was thanks to my attitude that I met Kane, Chow, Lucy." Jet said pulling the kettle out from the cabinets.
"Lucy then began to lecture Jet about treating others with respect." Kane continue. Earning a scoff from Lucy.
"Lecturing? I was giving him a whole earful!" Lucy exclaimed proudly. "But when he called me a "Fashion Victim" I kind of got carried away and shoved him...Right into Kane..."
"Well...He did surprise me. And it made me punch him in surprise." Kane said with a bashful look. "Then we both got into a big fight which ended when we both started to bleed, it could've been worst if Chow and Lucy hadn't got one of the fighting instructors to pull us apart."
"One of the instructors?" Lucy asked slyly. "It took a dozen to break up the fight you two were having."
"After that, the two of them got sent to the grandmaster's office." Chow said feeling guilty. "I kinda felt like the fight started with me. I didn't have any friends at all, I was too scare that people would think I was stupid... But when Lucy stood up to Jet for me...I realize there were people who were actually nice."
"Chow..." Kane said speechless. He then turned to Lucy and began to cry. "Lucy..."
"The grandmaster also called on me because I technically was the one who started the fight...But Chow wanted to go too, even though he wasn't apart of the fight." Lucy continued in Kane's place. "The grandmaster decided a suitable punishment...He made the four of us spend the entire day together, Now for me, and Chow, It was easy...But for Jet and Kane, It was unbearable. They hated being in groups..."
"Thinking back..." Jet said looking out a window. "I was pretty miserable...Dude. During that entire day, Lucy and Chow dragged me and Kane everywhere. The more we tried to hate it...The more fun we ended up having... Kind of like quicksand, the more you struggle the more you sink, Dude."
Rinda, Hugo and Suni just sat there listening to Jet's story. Rinda then began to smile.
"I guess...The more time when I started hanging out with my new friends...The less time I paid attention to Skor...Eventually, He and Skrap moved out and got a place of their own." Kane then finished.
"Of course..." Guin said putting the pieces together. "He never wanted to conquer all...He just wanted...Attention."
"I can't help feel...Like...his turning to villainy...Was all my fault somehow..." Kane said sighing.
In the capital of Mongaul...
Lady Amnelis sat at her desk, Signing important documents. It has only been a few hours since she had returned to Mongaul. It would've been best to go their separate ways there. After all her promise to Spirito has been fulfilled.
Suddenly she heard knocking on the balcony door. She Knew who it was, she then got up and opened the doors only to let a black crow fly in. It then shapeshift into a red frilled necked reptile wearing green pants and a green cape.
"Ah...My lovely Amnelis..." Skor said before he bowed. When he raised his head, he grinned. "Thought you could run off and hide somewhere?"
"I have no intention of running." Lady Amnelis said with a slight sign of rage in her voice. "Even from a demon like you..."
"Oh, Relax. I just came here to for a chat..." He said chuckling. Then walked up to a round table and pulled up a seat. "...At least give me some attention...I rarely get any of that..."
The next chapter is the Quicksilver Vault. This chapter is probably one of my greatest work yet.
