Please review - I'd really like to know what you think of the story!

"Gwen, come on," Emily said.

"It'll all blow over, they'll get bored, you'll see," Gwen insisted.

"It's been what a week? Remember our deal.." Emily said, frowning at Gwen as they both waited for their rides. Emily for her mother, and Gwen for Kevin. He didn't always collect her from school and she usually took the bus, or walked but he had called her that morning and told her that he'd collect her.

She was surprised but at the same time pleased, she liked spending time with Kevin and she was happy that he wanted to collect her from school.

Emily shook her head in exasperation, wishing that her friend wasn't so stubborn.

"Gwen seriously - you can't just let them get away with bugging you!" she tried again.

"They'll get bored soon, I can handle myself anyway," Gwen said turning away.

"That's twice they ruined your lunch Gwen - and it's not fair!"

It was true. Once again one of the twins had bumped into her making her spill her lunch all over the floor, and get into trouble with the cafeteria lady. It had been incredibly embarrassing but they'd get bored soon- how long could they continue pestering her anyway?

Gwen absently rubbed on a spot on her sweater where her milk had spilled, making a small stain that thankfully wasn't too obvious.

"Don't worry about it Emily, I promise that if it gets too much I'll do something about it," she promised.

Emily just shook her head in exasperation knowing that even if things did get too much Gwen probably wouldn't admit it.

"At least tell Ben and Kevin - maybe they'll know what to do," she pleaded with her best friend.

"No I can't, they'll just want to beat them up," Gwen sighed, shaking her head.

"That's a good thing Gwen," said Emily with a mischievous grin. "What's the point of having someone who can stick up for you if you don't let them?"

"I can stick up for myself, I don't need Kevin or Ben to do it for me," Gwen said.

"Maybe you can but you're not sticking up for yourself!"

"Look I'll be alright," Gwen insisted.

Emily rolled her eyes, completely exasperated.

"What can I do to make you see sense?" she asked.

"I am seeing sense, Em, really."

Emily just shook her head. She was about to say something else when someone called Gwen's name. They both turned and Emily frowned when she saw that it was the twins, who were now coming towards them.

"Let's see you handle them then," she muttered under her breath but Gwen didn't hear her.

"Hey Gwennie," Jamie (who she had learned to recognise by the small scar just above his eyebrow) said with a grin as they reached her.

"What do you want?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Rude aren't you," he chuckled.

"Well?" Emily asked, looking annoyed.

"We wanted to invite you two fine female creatures for a smoothie or something," Keith said shrugging.

Emily scrunched up her nose.

"No thanks," she said, turning away from them.

"We're busy," Gwen added, turning around too.

"Oh come on - don't tell me you're still mad about lunch," he said walking around to face her.

"It was an accident," Jamie added.

"No," said Emily glaring at the two,"It wasn't an accident - you pushed her on purpose, now leave us alone."

"Awh hey, don't be mean," Jamie said, with a mock hurt expression on his face.

"Come on one smoothie won't hurt, will it ?" Keith said with a grin.

"We're busy, sorry," Emily said turning once again away from them.

Keith rolled his eyes, and saw Gwen's jacket in her hands. He quickly pulled it from her and started waving it around, grinning.

"Come and get it," he chuckled.

"Give that back!" Gwen exclaimed, trying to catch hold of it to no avail.

Emily glared at the boy, who just laughed.

"Hey you," a blonde boy from Jamie and Gwen's maths class called out suddenly.

Jamie turned around looking surprised.

"What?" he asked frowning.

The boy nodded towards Keith.

"Tell him to knock it off, or believe me you're going to regret it."

Both Gwen and Emily turned around in surprise, and gratefulness.

"What ?" Jamie exclaimed,"What are you on about?"

"Him," the guy nodded towards a tall, muscly black haired guy getting out of a green and black car.

A very angry looking black haired guy.

Kevin had driven around looking for Gwen when suddenly he had spotted her, a little bit away from the school gates. As well as that he had noticed a guy grab her jacket and refuse to give it back. In that instant the mystery of Gwen's bad moods was solved and Kevin was mad.

He parked his baby at the curb, and got out, quickly making his way towards Gwen, who hadn't noticed him as she was still trying to get her jacket back.

Kevin flexed his muscles and cracked his neck. It was time to kick some ass.

"Who the hell is that?" Jamie asked Gwen in surprise.

"That's Kevin," Emily answered with a huge grin on her face. Finally they were going to get what they deserved.

"Is that your brother?" Keith asked as he handed Gwen her jacket back carefully.

"No," she replied, "he's not."

"Yo dude we didn't mean any harm, we were just messing about," Jamie called out as Kevin came closer.

Kevin glared at him.

"Were they bothering you?" he asked Gwen.

She hesitated slightly, not wanting to lie to him but at the same time not wanting the twins to get beaten up by him.

"Uh.." she mumbled.

"They were," Emily spoke up," For the past couple of days - they even bashed into her a couple of times so that she'd spill her lunch."

"Huh," Kevin snarled out with a raised eyebrow. "You got a reason you were bothering my girlfriend?"

Gwen lit up when she heard Kevin call her his girlfriend, something he had never done before.

"Girlfriend ?" Jamie exclaimed, "Awh hell man we didn't know, seriously."

"Do I look like I care?" Kevin asked angrily.

"Guess not," Jamie muttered.

"We'll lay off her, dude, I promise," Keith said nervously.

"Oh you will, believe me."

The twins flinched slightly when they heard Kevin's knuckles cracking.

"Kevin stop!" Gwen suddenly said, "you heard them, they'll stop."

"Yeah but this way I can be sure they will, and it'll make me feel better."

"Kevin please," Gwen pleaded, "You don't have to hit them - they won't bother me again."

He didn't move.

"Please Kev."

He frowned but backed off, coming closer to her.

"You ever bother her again, I can promise that nothing will stop me from burying you, understand?" he growled.

The twins nodded, smiling at Gwen gratefully though hesitantly.

Gwen beamed at Kevin, who just shook his head at her grinning very slightly at her wide smile.

Only Emily looked disappointed that Kevin hadn't beaten the twins up, something she had evidently been looking forward to.

The next day Gwen was a little nervous about going to school, and was surprised when Kevin came to pick her up in the morning.

It was maths first thing and Gwen bit her lip as she walked into the class only to see that Jamie had taken a seat near his brother at the back of the class.

She sighed in relief and sat down in her usual seat smiling confidently.

They didn't bother her in the next few classes either, and left her alone in the cafeteria too, she was pleased to note.

Emily had spent lunch glaring at them, as if daring them to try anything but not once did either one of them glance anywhere near her.

They were true to their promise it seemed.

Kevin insisted on collecting her from school almost everyday, and Gwen had a sneaking feeling that he enjoyed intimidating the twins. Ben was usually with him on the days that he didn't have soccer practice, and the both of them would glare at both Keith and Jamie from the car.

Sometimes Kevin insisted on opening the door for her, and would use this opportunity to glare at anyone who so much as looked their way.

It was kind of cute if she thought about it. Emily had been right after all - it was nice having someone to stand up for you.

A/N Wow - this is the first story I've ever finished! This is amazing! Please review!
