It had started to rain and thunderclouds formed up above. I ran until I found a large clump of boulders. Sitting in their shadow, i sat down and cried my eyes out. Occasionally I heard campers calling out for me later I heard someone walk up. "Who are you? What do you want?" I rasped. The person gave a small laugh. "You sound much like your father already, my Lady." I was confused. Why was he calling me 'my Lady'? "As to what my name is," he continued. "it is Luke Castellan, and I am your father's servant, which makes me your servant as well." I was suddenly angry "They all hate me because of who my father is. Who is he?" Before he could answer lightning struck me. Or rather tried to strike me-it got as close as a foot from my head, then it stopped, surged and rebounded towards the sky with a cataclysmic thundering noise. Suddenly I heard Jay's voice in my mind, 'No immortal being can harm you Katastrophe. Only those with mortal blood can do such a thing.' Luke looked stunned, as if he had never seen anyone have that kind of protection, which as I thought about it, he probably hadn't. He quickly regained his composure and said the name of my father. "Kronos." The sky rumbled dangerously. However, Luke continued unperturbed. "The Titan king and Lord of Time Kronos is your father. And he aims to destroy those who just tried to destroy you and who already destroyed your mother." My mouth dropped open and the only thing I could think to say was, "They killed my mother?" He nodded. "How do i know that you are telling the truth?" He gestured at the woods"Ask them." Just then Percy and Annabeth burst into the clearing. Luke looked their way and turned back to me. "Your father wants you by his side. If you wish to come with me, hone your powers, and meet him, take my hand." Annabeth shouted "Don't trust him Kat!" Percy had his sword out and pointed at Luke, while I was agonizing over a decision. Should I go with Luke and meet my father who could be evil? Or should I stay with Annabeth and Percy, but never decide for myself about Kronos? I thought of a test based on what Luke had said that I could use on Annabeth. I stood up. "Annabeth," I called across the clearing. She directed her attention towards me. "When I told you about my mother's death, you looked like you were holding something back. What was it, and don't lie or say 'I don't know' because you knew something. Well? What was it?" She hesitated, the spoke. "I was thinking that Zeus killed your mother because you were too powerful and he missed or something." I smirked. It looked like my choice was made for me. "Hey Annabeth!" I called stared at me with wide eyes."You really are too smart for your own good." And then I took Luke's hand.
