I was about to strike when a dagger hit me from behind. It didn't hurt, it just irritated me more. I turned around and saw Annabeth streaking past me. It was too fast for me to strike, but when she slowed down, a few hundred feet away, I drew my dagger and threw it at her back. It didn't fly true but it did hit her shoulder. She froze in time as it entered her flesh, and Percy, who was right behind her, stopped and cried "Annabeth! No!" At that moment, as he cried out for his love, I saw his Achiilleus spot. It was glowing dully through the back of his shirt. It was the small of his back. I grinned triumphantly "Until next time Perseus!" I shouted gleefully. He payed me no heed and picked up Annabeth and carried her away. I walked down the bridge and picked up the pieces of Riptide. I smiled to myself. This would make a great offering to my father.
Percy
I ran as fast as I could with Annabeth in my arms. I was crying, more for the loss of Annabeth than the loss of Riptide, but still for both. I caught up with the retreating demigods and found Will Solace, a healer from the Apollo cabin. We laid her down as gently as we could on a park bench, off her knifed shoulder. Will pulled the dagger out, being careful not to touch the blade. I waited for Annabeth to come to life again, to hear her voice again. No such luck. I started crying, not caring about who saw. Will put a hand on my shoulder. "If the power of Kronos was neutralized with an equal force or power, then she would wake up. Otherwise… I'm sorry, man." He started to get up and leave, when Aphrodite's daughter Silena came over and stood by me. "I know a power greater than Kronos', Percy." She whispered into my ear. I looked up hopefully. "Love." She said looking into my eyes. I cast my eyes downward and continued crying, because I was unwilling to go without a sword or Annabeth by my side to battle. SIlena persisted. "If you let me I'll help you, Percy." I nodded my head in indication that I would do anything, anything at all. She smiled a little then asked me a startling question. "Do you truly love Annabeth?" I nodded "Yes, I do." "Then pray to my mother like this. "Aphrodite, goddess of love." I intoned the words after her. "Give unto me my dearest love Annabeth Chase, for she is everything to me. Give her undying love for me even unto death." As I repeated the words I gave it all my heart and soul, willing Annabeth to come back. "I have passed the test goddess of love and wish to pass the rites accordingly." I looked at Silena and it seemed she was glowing in a divine light. My suspicions were confirmed when she spoke in a voice not her own. "Goodness me" she said in a strangly familiar voice. "I haven't done this in years. How exciting!" "Aphrodite?" I asked reverently. Aftter all, she was getting me my Annabeth back."Yes, my dear. I've come to join yours and Annabeth's destinies forever. Let's get started shall we?"

I walked back to my father in triumph, holding the pieces of Riptide and Annabeth's knife. I figured I would get more glory to myself if I kept Percy's spot to myself. He was in counsel with Luke and Hyperion when I spotted him, but then the sentry blew a horn indicating that I had intruded on our base. I shook my head in disgust. Those sentries sat around playing cards. They barely ever watched outside of their po-gi-no duels or whatever. I quickened my pace, so that I was there when my father looked up next. He spoke dangerously quiet. "What is it that is so important that you interrupt me in a war counsel?"
In answer I held out the weapons in my palm. His eyebrows rose tremendously.
'Is that…" He trailed off. Apparently even the king of the titans could be stunned speechless when presented with the two weapons of his most dangerous enemies, with one broken into three pieces. I nodded, grinning ear to ear. "I also froze Annabeth in time with the blade of the Kronian dagger. There's no force on earth right now that could unfreeze her except you and I, Father. So Percy might come to us for Annabeth's life. " "You lost it though?" Hyperion spoke up. I looked at him blankly as Father took the pieces of Riptide in his hands and examined them, as if to see if they were real. "The dagger." Hyperion elaborated. "Oh. Yes, I did." I said. "I take it they are not dead though." My father stated suddenly. "They retreated." I explained swiftly. "I thought it not prudent to go into enemy grounds, Achilleus blessing or not. However as I said Annabeth Chase is frozen in time and nothing can revive her." I grinned triumphantly, and waited for my father to dismiss me. For a long moment he thought on what I said. Finally he said "Go prepare the council for a direct strike as well as Jason to go toe to toe with Thalia Grace." I nodded eagerly. "Of course, father." I ran off to do as he said.
