Lucas and Bria shared a look as they watched their parents.
"Mom? Dad? Can we talk to you about something important?" Bria asked. Belle looked at her husband then back at her twins.
"Of course honey, you can talk to us about anything." Belle said looking at them lovingly. Bria looked at her brother.
"We talked about this last night and we think we should stop with the story. Both Bae and Hannah got hurt with the story. I mean Bae ran away and Hannah's feeling more unloved then she ever did before." Lucas said.
"We just don't want Hannah to get even more. It's pretty obvious that Hannah's story will go on longer than Bae's." Bria said. Belle sighed and looked at her children. "We just don't want them getting hurt anymore."
"I understand honey." Adam said. "I'll talk to Hannah and ask her if she wants to stop the stories." Bria and Lucas sighed. Hannah slowly came down the stairs and into the kitchen. "Good morning sweetheart."
"Morning." She said quietly. She went over to her father and without warning just sat on his lap and put her head on his shoulder.
"You feeling okay?"
"Yeah, I'll be okay. As long as you still love me." Adam wrapped his arms around his daughter and kissed her head.
"I'll always love you my special girl. I promise I'll never leave you." Hannah curled herself into him. Adam had never felt more horrible into his entire life. Hannah had always had self-esteem issues and hearing that her own mother never loved her and wanted to kill her made her head down a road toward a deep depression. "Just know that your mother, Bae, Bria, Lucas, and I will always be here for you."
"I know what you're doing. I'm not going to hurt myself if that's what you're thinking."
"I'm not thinking that Hannah. I just want you to know just how loved you really are." Adam said rubbing her arm. She pushed his hand away.
"Just stop! I won't do anything. Stop treating me like I'm a ticking time bomb!" Hannah yelled. Belle reached over and took her hand.
"Hannah, breathe, no one's treating you like that. We just don't want you to feel unloved because you are loved so much."
"Leave me alone! I want Bae!" Tears streamed down Hannah's cheeks. Belle nodded toward Lucas to go get Bae. Lucas ran up the stairs and got Bae. Bae took the stairs two at a time to get to his sister. Ever since Hannah was six and she was almost kidnapped, she only ever wanted Bae to comfort her when she was upset. Bae engulfed his sister in his arms.
"It's okay. It's okay Hannah I'm right here. I'm here. Relax, I've got you now." Hannah clung to her brother just like she did six years ago. Bae stroked her hair and rubbed her back.
"Make them stop Bae." She whimpered. Bae shushed her and held her.
"Listen to me Hannah. You're okay. She's not here. Miranda's not here. She's locked up and she can't get out."
"She gets out in three years Bae. She'll come after me."
"And the only way she'll touch you is if she kills me first." Hannah tightened her grip on Bae. "Hannah, relax, she's not getting anywhere near this family. I won't let her." He said with such confidence it made Adam beam with pride for his son. Belle put her hand on his and rubbed her thumb over the top of Adam's hand. Adam looked at her. He flipped his hand over to hold hers and kissed her hand.
"What about her boyfriend? What about Gaston?"
"Gaston's not nearly as strong as I am. He won't hurt you. Killian hasn't been seen for a while. Hannah, I need you to calm down because nothing will happen to you. I know last night upset you but nothing will happen to you. You'll always have me to protect you." Bae kissed her head. He slowly let go and looked at her. "Come on, let's go upstairs and get dressed for today." Adam sighed.
"Perhaps you two are right." He said looking at the twins. "Maybe we should stop the story."
"Hannah will say it's okay to continue but she obviously isn't okay. She freaks whenever Bae is out of her sight."
"Bria's right Adam. She reverting back to when she was six."
"I'll call Dr. Hopper this afternoon." Adam sighed and he leaned against his chair. "I can't believe this is happening."
"Kids go get ready." Belle shooed her kids away. As soon as the kids were out of earshot, she turned to Adam. "Adam, what's wrong?"
"My daughter is hurt because of me."
"How is this your fault? Miranda was the one that drank while she pregnant, she was the one that gave Hannah FAS, she's the reason DYFS was called at all, and she's the one that openly admitted she wanted Hannah to die. I'd love to hear how you'd turn this on you."
"I didn't watch her closely enough. I'm Hannah's father and I'm supposed to protect from everything. I couldn't protect her from her own mother. How can she ever trust me again?"
"Do you really think she blames you? You're her hero Adam. You were only one giving her strength to fight for her life at only a couple weeks old. Adam she loves you with her whole heart."
"That's why she wants nothing to do with me, right?"
"She wants Bae because she's been like that since she was six. Adam you know what happened then, Bae was the one that stopped the van and saved her it makes sense that she would find comfort in him. That has nothing to do with you."
"I wish I could comfort my own daughter."
"She always comes to you for everything else. This is just because this one thing really upset her and she wants Bae. Think of this way, she never comes to me when she's scared or upset. She's my daughter she never wants me to comfort her."
"That's because she's saving all the woman questions and problems for you. She told me so herself." Belle laughed.
"See there are different things that we help them with. Just wait until the twins reach their teenager years. We'll have three teenagers at the same time."
"That's when our love will keep us going." Belle smiled and kissed him. "I've been practicing again." Belle got up.
"Show me." Adam got up and gave Belle his cane.
"If the kids start to come down, throw it to me." Belle nodded. Adam sucked in a deep breath and started to walk to her. Belle smile grew wider with each step he took. After years of being told he'll never walk again, if only those doctors could see him now." Before she knew it, he was standing in front of her with her face in his hands. She leaned forward and kissed him passionately. She gave him cane and he took it hesitantly. "I signed up for physical therapy. You're right, it's time to start again."
"I'll be right there with you. You won't have to do this alone, not that I would let you even if you wanted to. Okay, our children have been upstairs for far too long. Let's go see what going on." Adam nodded and followed his wife upstairs.
