Adam was actually looking forward to the story tonight. He was looking forward to reliving how he met his true love. He looked at his beautiful children and knew he wouldn't have any of them if it weren't for Belle. He shifted his gaze to his wife and pulled her into his lap. She smiled and leaned against him.

"Are you guys going to start making out or are we going to hear the best part of the story?" Bae asked. Belle laughed.

"You are very impatient." Belle said.

"Of course, we finally get to hear how you two met." The rest of the children nodded and Adam decided that now was a good time to start.

Flashback

Adam stared at his wife as she packed a bag. He snuck a look outside and a man leaning against a car waiting for her.

"So you're daughter comes home after being in the hospital because of you and you leave."

"She's not mine, I didn't want her."

"Believe it or not Miranda, our daughter has FAS because of you."

"So she's never find anyone to love her boo-who. She'll have you until you finally die so what's the big deal." Adam had to control his anger so he wouldn't hit his wife. She could say anything she wanted about him but she couldn't talk bad about his daughter. He got control of himself and looked at Miranda. "Anyway, I need to go."

"I can't believe you would leave your children like this."

"Well believe it!" Hannah started to cry and Miranda left the house. Adam sighed and tried to figure out what he was going to do. His one babysitter, Ashley Boyd, had told him that she was pregnant and Adam had told her to take some time off to get ready for the baby and he would still pay her for the hours she would have worked. Miranda had wanted to fire her but he refused. He heard his son run into his bedroom with tears running down his face. Miranda came back in after Neal. "I will get my son! He's mine not yours. You hear me Gold? He's mine!" Neal hugged Adam's legs tighter.

"Then I'll see you in court. You stay away from my son and daughter." Miranda threw a vase at him and he shielded Hannah and Neal with his body. She stormed out of the house and he heard the car drive away. He looked down at Neal who was sobbing into Adam's PJ leg. He looked and saw Hannah was asleep so he put into her bassinet and picked up Neal. "It's okay Neal. Don't cry. I'm right here."

"I don't want to go with Mama. She's scary when she smells funny." Adam knew Neal was referring to when Miranda would drink. He held his son tighter. "I want to stay with you."

"I'll do everything I can to make sure you stay with me. I promise you Neal."

"I want Miss Ashley." Neal had taken an instant liking to Ashley the first time she babysat him. Adam found it adorable how he would run to hug her when she came over and how she always promised she would be back soon when he would cry when she left. Adam looked at the clock and saw that it wasn't too late only eight-thirty so he picked up the phone and dialed Ashley's number.

"Hello?"

"Miss Boyd, it's Professor Gold."

"Professor Gold, I'm sorry was I supposed to come tonight? I'll leave right now…"

"No, no, calm down Ashley. You weren't supposed to come tonight. However, a young man would like to talk to you."

"What's wrong with Neal?" She asked concerned. Adam smiled at the concern in Ashley's voice for his son.

"Well apparently Miranda doesn't want to be part of this family anymore and left but not before she tried to take Neal and throw a vase at the three of us." He heard Ashley gasp.

"Please give him the phone." Adam gave Neal the phone. "Hi Neal."

"I want you to come Miss Ashley. I miss you and I'm scared."

"I know sweetheart. I miss you too. I'm sure your papa takes good care of you when you're scared."

"But I want you. I love you." Adam's heart broke at his son's confession. He knew he meant he loved her like a friend but he still thought it was cute. Apparently Ashley did as well for he heard a giggle come from the phone.

"I love you too buddy and I'll see you real soon but do you remember why I can't come over?"

"Cause you gots a baby in your belly that needs you more."

"That's right. But I still love you Neal and that won't change. When I have this baby I'll come see you and bring the baby. How does that sound?"

"Okay, but I still miss you."

"I know my prince. I'll see you soon though and I promise to come back as soon as your papa lets me."

"Okay, Papa wants to talk to you."

"Okay, good night Neal. I'll see you soon." Neal handed the phone to Adam. "Will he be okay?"

"He'll fine in a little while. Ashley, if you would like to come by and see him I have no objections to that. I just don't want you to over work yourself so close to your due date."

"I have about four weeks before this baby is supposed to be born but I would love to see him and your daughter. What's her name again?"

"Hannah. Hannah Rosalie Gold."

"I'm sure that beautiful name matches the beautiful girl. I'll send you a picture of her. She was born with FAS but she's still the most beautiful girl I've ever seen."

"I'm sure. I want to thank you for everything you've done for me Professor Gold. If it wasn't for you I'm sure I wouldn't be the one bringing this baby home."

"You don't have to thank me Ashley. You're Neal's favorite babysitter and I'm pretty sure his first crush," they both laughed at that, "I just want to make sure you're taken care of. If you need anything don't hesitate to call me."

"Thank you Professor Gold. I really owe you."

"You don't owe me a thing. Just make sure you love that baby twice as much as you love Neal, and call me Adam. I think we passed the line between professor and student the minute you walked into my house."

"I swear to love this baby. I already do. I have since I found out about her."

"You're having a girl?"

"Yes, I've kept it a secret but I had to tell someone."

"Well congratulations. I better get Neal to bed but like I said come over if you ever just want to see them."

"Thank you Pr- Adam. Good night."

"Good night Ashley." He hung up and looked at Neal. He was asleep against his side and his hand was in his mouth. Something he hadn't done since he turned three and 'wasn't a baby anymore'. He laid his son on the pillow before laying down himself and drifted asleep.

End flashback

Bae smiled when he thought of Ashley. She was his first crush and he loved her a lot. At three you love pretty much anyone but he really loved Ashley. Belle looked over and saw Bae was deep in thought. She looked at Adam and saw he saw the same thing.

"Bae, close your mouth or you'll catch flies." Hannah said rolling her eyes. Bae blushed and turned toward his sister.

"Shut up Mrs. Henry Swan-Hubert." That received a punch in the arm from his sister who was the color of a tomato. He smirked at her and she gave him a look that could kill.

"Alright, stop it both of you. Time for bed, let's go." Belle told them and ushered them out of the living room and up the stairs. She turned to Adam and smiled.

"I know that look. What did I do?"

"Just how much did Ashley mean to you and why did you cover all her expenses before and after Lexi's birth?"

"She was Bae's favorite babysitter and I felt bad that she couldn't work after falling pregnant. Wait, are you asking me if Lexi is mine?"

"Your words not mine."

"I can assure you, Lexi is Sean's. Ashley and I were in never in a relationship. I promise."

"I hope so. So, how far have you been progressing?" Adam smiled and stood up. He wobbled for a minute and then started to walk towards her. He could barely feel the pain for his excitement was overwhelming it. Belle smiled and threw her arms around him. He smiled at her and kissed her head. "I'm so proud of you."

"I'll keep going and be able to do this for you and the girls in no time. Every day after work, I'm going to physical therapy for an hour. I'm really doing it this time. This time I have a lot more to do it for." Belle smiled and kissed him.

A.N. For those of you who remember "Rumple's life", I know that some of what is said in here is different than the chapters of that story. This story is going into more depth about what happened "behind the scenes" so to speak of that story and also what I wished I would have done now that I'm thinking about it again. Also, a thought just popped into my mind so get ready for a surprise at the end of the last chapter. Now that Miranda's gone I'm basically just running through the chapters now so they will be up faster than before so look out for them.
