Finally the final chapter for this installment is up. Sorry for the wait, I hate having writer's block, especially when one wants to finish a good story and go on to the next one. I got more ideas now. Enjoy the last chapter of Falling into Darkness. Please review and please be nice.
Everyone walked into the field, it was covered with a blanket of snow; it wasn't thin nor was it thick, but people could still walk through it without a problem. Not that vampires had any problems; they had their ways, especially if they had to meet the Volturi in this particular field, and with good reason. They gathered together according to covens, and there they waited and watched as the Volturi stepped out of the trees and onto the field coming towards everyone. This was their chance to prove the Cullens had done nothing wrong. Finally, the Volturi stopped just a few meters away from them.
The only thing Aro noticed was Alice and Jasper's absence, and he was very curious as to why. Then Carlisle stepped forward, and did his best to explain the fact that everybody was there to prove no laws had been broken. However, Aro wanted to hear from Edward by reading his thoughts, so he did; and then he wanted to meet Renesmee. Bella stepped before Aro with Renesmee at her side, and there Aro saw the proof with just a touch. Aro was amazed, but Caius was still convinced; until Alice and Jasper finally showed up.
Edward was worried at first, but then Alice told Aro she had evidence saying Renesmee, was not a danger or a risk to their kind. Aro took her hand and read her thoughts, and there he saw it; a great battle ensued. Several lives were lost, including his own, and everything burning in fire. He let go of Alice's hand, and looked at everyone with a shocked look on his face. He knew what his future would be.
"That is unless you decide differently," said Alice. Caius however, was still convinced Renesmee posed a threat; but then two more witnesses showed up. One of them was a man, and he, like Renesmee, was half-mortal, and the woman next to him, his aunt, was made immortal by him. Aro was more convinced, but then Akito stepped forward, along with Ren, Tohru, Katsuya, Momiji, Kisa and Hiro. Now was the time to reveal their own truth.
"It seems we've been keeping a secret from you all these long years Aro," said Akito just she and the others stopped in front of Aro.
"Do tell," he said.
"A good portion of my family are half-mortals," Akito went on, "my father was a half-mortal, and he made my mother immortal after I was born. Unlike vampires, half-mortal women are able to have children, and the children are half-mortal as well. There are three of them among us; one of them is almost fully grown, he has another couple months, and the other two have at least four more years to go. There are also four newborns, Tohru here is one of them, and her son Katsuya has just become full grown. So as you can see, there's no danger to our kind."
Akito's explanation convinced Caius a lot more, so he was finally able to let it go. Aro turned to the others, telling them there'll be no fight, so they left. Everyone who gathered to help the Cullens were pleased with their success, and Bella and Edward were relieved. The Cullens thanked everyone, and they thanked Akito for bringing her entire family out to help. And with that, the Sohmas set off on their journey home.
There you have it. Please be nice with the reviews, I know it was short; I am a little rusty, but I'm sure things will pick up. Stay tuned for Falling into Darkness Part 2. Love you all!
