~Anarchy's P.O.V. ~
We were all sitting in the main area of the hotel room L and I were staying at. Everyone was gathered and were seated in couches around a small table Matsuda and Ukita were sitting together on a couch and Aizawa on a different couch across from them. L was sitting in his usual chair while I sat on the arm of the chair leaning back a bit. I was still a bit tired from all these past nights, but I usually push through until I pass out. My eyes wandered as someone began talking.
"Regarding Naomi Misora's disappearance, shouldn't we open an investigation into this matter?" It was Ukita who was speaking. His eyes were looking at L before shifting to meet mine. My eyes widened just the slightest as I once again saw how his death would play out. Only, there was more details upon seeing it this time. I bit the inside of my cheek; his death was today. I leaned over to L after Ukita stopped talking and whispered into his ear.
"Ukita will die today." I glanced at him to see his still emotionless expression, his eyes met mine showing little hints of sorrow.
"Yes, I believe you're right on that." He said, making it seem less suspicious as to what I said.
"What'd she say?" Matsuda asked in confusion, putting his hands on his knees. L's eyes moved back to where the others were.
"If we do, it will have to be coordinated separately from the Kira case." L told them. "That was what she had told me. She's still a bit tired so she's saving as much energy as she can for now by talking quietly."
"Oh," Matsuda started. "That makes sense. I mean, she has been staying up through the nights lately. I can only imagine how tired she is now."
"Also," L hummed. "We'll have to use police sketches instead of actual photos." I shot a confused glance at L before whispering in his ear again.
"But wouldn't Kira be able to use that as a reference to her face so he could still kill her?" I questioned. If all he needs is a name and a face, then accurate drawing or photos would make his job easier.
"That is a good point but we'll alter it slightly so it won't be exact." L said while looking at me.
"What did Angel say now?" Aizawa inquired.
"She brought up a point of using exact resemblance sketches. Since Kira needs a name I'm sure photos or quality sketches would work just as well. So I suggested altering her appearance a bit so that Kira wouldn't be able to kill her even if he saw it." The others hummed in agreement to what he said.
"But we're talking about someone who's been missing for 4 months already. Chances are she's probably dead." Aizawa explained as I tried to reach for some of L's cake without actually having to get up from where I was. I grunted softly, my arm was a good distance from it. I huffed while letting my arm rest on my knee before L reached down himself and handed me his plate of cake. I took it gingerly and looked at him before putting the fork in my hand and taking a bite of the sugary treat. I whispered a near silent thanks to him as I took another bite.
"If you're right about that I find it odd that we haven't found her body yet. If we did, it might provide us with some much needed physical evidence." I listened to him talk before a door closed. Our attention drifted over to Watari who had just walked in the room. It must've been something urgent for him to barge in so suddenly.
"Ryuzaki, Angel," He started. "Something seems to be happening on Sakura TV." He explained while walking to a remote to turn on the t.v. we had. When the screen came on, it read channel #48 at 5:54 p.m. I listened as one of 3 people on screen spoke.
"In other words, all of the reporters and staff here are Kira's hostages." As the man spoke, we all moved to huddle around the tv. I still sat on the arm of L's chair. Ukita and Matsuda were behind me to my right, and Aizawa behind on my left. We all watched as the message played. "Aside from that, we have a professional obligation to share this message with you; I assure you that this is not a hoax, and that Sakura TV is not airing this for the purposes of sensationalism."
"Kira's hostages?" Aizawa repeated with confusion laced in his voice.
"What is this?" Matsuda asked.
"4 days ago, our Program Director here at Sakura TV received 4 tapes, after a thorough examination, there can be no doubt that they are from Kira himself." There was a short pause before a recording of a tape was shown on screen. "The first tape we received contained a prediction, regarding the time and death of 2 suspected criminals who had recently been arrested, and as predicted at the exact time that Kira had specified, both men died suddenly of heart attacks yesterday."
"If what they're saying is true," L spoke softly. "It's clearly only something Kira could do."
"Kira has instructed us to air the second tape at exactly 5:59 p.m. and we do intend to comply with his demands. This tape should offer proof of his powers by predicting yet another death. Beyond that, we understand that this a message to all people of the world from Kira."
"This has to be another fake, don't you think?" Ukita theorized.
"I doubt it, I'm pretty sure even Sakura TV wouldn't stoop that low." Matsuda told him.
"And now, the video." After that, the screen changed to the work 'Kira' in a weird, Old English type font. It almost looked sinister. The sounds of papers being shuffled was heard before a cough for whoever was recording this to clear their throat.
"I am Kira." The voice rang out. It was disguised by a voice modulator that was made to be a very deep voice. My eyes narrowed at this. If this was Light's doing, he wouldn't feel the need to prove himself to the entire world watching. The people already know his capabilities, he knows that; this isn't Light. "If this video was being aired on April 8th at exactly 5:59 as I requested, then the time now is 5:59:47, 48, 49, please change the channel to Taiyou TV. The news anchor, Mr. Kuzuhiko Hibimo, will die of a heart attack at exactly 6 o'clock." The Task Force members behind us gasped at Kira's claim.
"Change it!" L ordered. Once the channel changed, we saw a man, slouched back in his chair, mouth ajar, as people rushed to him to see what was wrong with him.
"How could he!?" Ukita said frustratedly as he moved closer to the t.v.
"Change the channel back!" I told them. I bit at the end of my thumb in confusion as to what was happening.
"And I need you to bring us another t.v., Watari; no, make it two." L told him as our eyes stayed glued to the screen.
"Yes." Watari replied before walking out of the room. Was this really a second Kira? I always thought of it as an option, but for it to happen so soon? And who could it be?
"I will present you with another victim." Kira informed. "My next target is NHN TV commentator, Mr. Seiji Komaizumi, who is scheduled to appear in a live broadcast. He too has dared to defy Kira."
"Ryuzaki?" Matsuda trailed off.
"Change it to channel 24." It was changed, a similar picture to the last channel was shown. I scrunched my eyebrows in frustration and confusion. I don't understand what's going on here. Why these to particular people? What's this trying to accomplish? Who is this second Kira? My eyes widened suddenly. No, there was two Kira's now. Now there's more of a threat towards L. How am I supposed to protect him from another person that I don't even know about? My mind went rapid with thoughts before L spoke again.
"Please change it back." L said softly, in an almost remorseful tone.
"Now that you have seen proof of my powers, you should have no trouble believing that I am Kira."
~L's P.O.V. ~
'Kira said that he was going to send a message to the people of the world...' I thought of the possible messages he meant before numerous ones came to mind. This cannot happen.
"Stop this broadcast! We can't let him finish!" I ordered out. Everyone rushed to a phone.
"Get Sakura TV on the line!" Matsuda yelled out as he rapidly dialed a phone number.
"It's no good." Aizawa said. "I'm trying, but none of my contacts at the station have their phones on."
"And nobody's picking up at reception either!"
"Damn it!" Ukita screamed before running to the door.
"Ukita?" Matsuda called out.
"I'll stop this broadcast myself it that's what it takes!" He ran out as I looked over at Anarchy. She seemed overly tense. Her bite on her thumb was much harder than usual. I put a hand over hers and looked at her. She seemed to snap out of things and looked at me with wide eyes, filled with sorrow.
"It's happening…" She said in a soft voice, looking down to avoid my gaze. I soon realized what she meant, Ukita's death. I bit my lip to cover any emotion before turning back to the t.v. I released my hold on her and grabbed my legs.
"People of the world," Kira started again. "Please listen to me. The last thing I want to do is kill the innocent. I hate evil and love justice." I started biting my own thumb to mimic Anarchy as I listened. "I've always thought of the police as allies, not as enemies." 'Damn you, Kira.' I mentally spat out. " I intend to create a new world; a perfect world that is free from evil. If you agree to join me in my mission I know we can make it happen. And as long as no one tries to catch me, I promise that the innocent will not die. Even if you don't agree with me, all I ask that you no publicize your views in the media. If you can do that, you will be spared. All you have to do now, is be patient. I will create a better world that we can all enjoy. Say goodbye to the world as you know it; soon, a new world ruled by benevolence, inhabited by kind-hearted honest people. Try to imagine it…" I blocked out what else was said. My eyes were now fixed on another t.v. that had the news on. It had the outside of Sakura TV being shown. A police car had just screeched to a halt before the doors.
"Ukita…" I heard Anarchy say as he stepped out of the car. He tried to get into the building, he banged on the glass doors before going to pull out his gun. However, he froze before collapsing to the ground. Anarchy looked away as she heard his gun hit the pavement. This is what she kept seeing in his eyes.
"Hello?" Aizawa said into a phone. "Damn, I'm still not getting through."
"Aizawa, look!" Matsuda pointed towards the t.v. where Ukita lay dead on the ground. He gasped as a new woman began speaking
"As you can see, someone has collapsed just outside the door. Again, we're coming to you live from the Sakura TV building."
"Ukita… Damn it. Kira did this." Aizawa struggled to get out before his footsteps were heard going to the door.
"Mr. Aizawa." I called out to stop him. "Where are you going?"
"Where do you think? I've gotta go there."
"And do what Aizawa?" Anarchy said through her teeth.
"Please, think about this rationally." I tried to reason with him.
"What, you want me to just sit here and watch t.v.?" He spat back angrily.
"If this truly is the work of Kira, you'll just meet the same fate if you go there." Anarchy told him.
"You both told us Kira couldn't kill without a name. So how could this happen?" He turned around and questioned us.
"The aliases and fake police I.D.'s were worthless." Matsuda informed us. "What are we gonna do, L? You don't think Kira has all our names already, do you?"
"That's a definite possibility. However if that's the case, you think it'd be easier for him to kill off the entire Task Force before making a move. Initially I deduced that Kira needed both a name and a face to kill…" I explained to them.
"But with what just happened to Ukita, we may have been wrong on his limits." Anarchy said, her hair covering her eyes.
"All I know for sure, is that Kira is either in that t.v. station or he's somewhere close by in a place where he can watch everyone who enters the building. Perhaps he's-"
"If Kira is in the area then isn't that why we should get down there!?" Aizawa interrogated furiously.
"But he may just have surveillance cameras placed around that area." Anarchy told him. She was struggling to make her voice sound normal now.
"If we rush down there unprepared, all of us will be killed." Aizawa ran up and grabbed my shoulder roughly. Anarchy heard this and didn't hesitate to grab his wrist with equal force to match. Her eyes bore holes into his, not daring to let him out of her sights for a second.
"Wasn't it you that said we'd have to risk our lives to catch Kira!?" Anarchy growled and started to speak.
"There's a difference between running into a suicidal situation of no escape and planning to risk your life for something that you have a chance of getting out of, Aizawa!" Her anger was beginning to rise, as well as her fear for the rest of us. I could see it in her eyes as I watched her. He looked at her a scoffed.
"Oh yeah, well aren't you supposed to have the eyes that see death?!" He accused her. Her facial expression faltered. She looked at him scared, her grip lightened on his wrist as he leaned towards her. "If that's the case then why didn't you stop Ukita or tell the rest of us, huh?!" Aizawa pushed his arm forward to release her grip fully, but doing it in a rough manner that she fell backwards. Once I saw her hand leave his arm, mine went around her. I couldn't keep her from hitting her head off the table behind her from the force of his shove. I made sure I had her and brought her into my lap while putting my hand to her head where it got hit. My eyes went up to Aizawa's. There was so much anger in my expression before he realized what he had just done. His gaze drifted from me, to the sniffling girl under me with her hands on mine to try and make her head stop hurting.
"Control yourself, Aizawa." I warned him. "We've lost Ukita, I understand your wish to go there and do something, but we can't afford to lose anyone else to Kira."
"I now await a response from the police." Kira's voice rang out. I looked back at the screen, keeping Anarchy as close as I could to comfort her as much as possible.. "They must decide whether or not they'll help me create a better world for all of us. Please announce your decision on the 6 o'clock news in 4 days. I've prepared 2 videos: one to be aired if the answer was yes and another if the answer is no." Just then, on another t.v., what looked to be a police van crashed through the front of the Sakura TV building. The crash made Anarchy jump and look at the screen. My grip tightened to assure her it was okay.
"Well, that's one way to get into the building without being seen by Kira." I stated bluntly as we all watched.
"But, who would…" Matsuda trailed off. I looked down at the girl to see small tears lining her eyes. Her hands were still on mine, holding her head as her face was scrunched in a pained expression.
"Anarchy," I spoke softly. She looked at me before I tried moving my hand from her head. She whimpered when I attempted to. "Just let me look at it. I need to make sure you're not bleeding or anything." She nodded and removed her hands from mine and turned her head. I inspected her head carefully, thankfully she wasn't bleeding from the impact. "Okay, you're fine. It might just hurt for a few days but everythings alright now." I reassured her as she rested her head on my chest. She was shaking the slightest bit and refused to look at anything other than myself or the t.v. screens. She had just gotten used to being around different people, then Aizawa decides to do that. I doubt she'll want to be in the same room with him even if I'm there for a while after this.
"We're still outside Sakura TV," The woman began speaking as another police car pulled in front of the building. "As you can see, a police car as just arrived."
"So we're not alone." Matsuda connected. "There are still other officers out there who're willing to stand up to Kira."
"Mr. Aizawa." I spoke sternly. "You know Deputy Director Kitamura's cell phone number, right?"
"Yes." I felt Anarchy flinch a little when he spoke, even though it was calmly this time.
"Please call him and give me the phone."
"Aizawa, I told you not to call me on this phone." Kitamura scolded.
"This is L." I told him which made him cease his scolding. "There's something I need you to do for me." I felt Anarchy's gaze on me as I told him my plan. "There may be police officers moved by this and feel the need to take action in the name of justice. If we don't take control of the situation quickly there will be a disaster."
"Well, technically we're not supposed to be involved in this investigation." I heard him gasp as 2 police officers collapsed outside Sakura Tv's doors.
"2 police officers have just collapsed on the sidewalk! I think we may be in danger, we're moving away from the scene!." The woman informed whoever was watching.
"I understand, L." He agreed. "I see your point now; tell me what I should do." Another phone was ringing now, it was Watari's. I felt Anarchy shift to try and look over where Watari was but stopped to lean on my chest in an attempt to calm herself down.
"Detective Superintendent Yagami." Watari told me.
"Call him back immediately and give me the phone!" I commanded with a hand out.
"I need to speak with Ryuzaki!" His voice rung strongly.
"Yes it's me, Mr. Yagami. So you're the one driving the police van?" I assumed. Anarchy tilted her head up to hear what he was saying.
"That's right." He admitted. "I couldn't just sit and watch. I've confiscated all of the tapes. I'm bringing them to you."
~Anarchy's P.O.V. ~
My head rested on L's chest as I listened to the two of them talk. There was waves of pain going through my head but I ignored them to make sure I heard everything. My face felt hot being this close to L in front of others like this though, but I liked being close to him. It wasn't often I had the chance to, so I enjoyed it as much as I could.
"But what about your condition, are you alright?" L asked concerned. His voice sounded normal but I was able to tell he was still worried about Soichiro and myself at the moment.
"I'm feeling just fine." Soichiro said. I inwardly sighed that he was at least okay for the moment. "To be honest, I don't think I've ever felt more alive. So what do you think I should do now? I'd say going out the front would be too dangerous, but I could always use the police van again."
"Please hold the line for a second." He put that phone down to switch to the one with Kitamura on the line. "Deputy Director Kitamura, it was Chief Yagami who just drove into the building. Are your preparations complete?"
"It's done as you requested." That was all L needed to hear before switching back to Soichiro.
"Mr. Yagami, listen carefully. In exactly 5 minutes I want you to come out the front entrance."
"You want me to exit through the front entrance? Okay, I will." And with that both phones were hung up. I felt L put a hand on my shoulder.
"Anarchy," He said to get my attention. I looked up at him. "I need someone to get Mr. Yagami. You're the only one I know that can get there fast enough, and I also need to be able to monitor his condition as soon as possible. Can you do this for me please?" He asked in a soft, gentle voice. I nodded and tried to get up. L helped me stand to assure that I was okay. I grabbed my keys off of a side table before looking up to see Aizawa staring right at me. My eyes widened before running passed him and out the door as quickly as possible.
~L's P.O.V. ~
I watched as she ran out the door passed Aizawa.
"A-Anarchy, wait-!" He called out with an arm outstretched to grab her.
"Don't bother with it, Aizawa." I told him bluntly. He turned to face me with a confused and sorry expression. "She's not going to be comfortable being around you for sometime. Even if I'm there with her, she won't look at you if it can be avoided and most likely won't speak to you directly until she's healed. It'd be best not to try to confront her, she's not used to being hurt by new people so she doesn't know how to deal with it yet. Please do not do something like this again or I will strike back next time." I emphasized before turning to a computer that was being set down by Watari. I had Anarchy's car cameras on as she drove fast to get to Mr. Yagami. She was there within 5 minutes and in place. She leaned against the door as he walked out. The entire entrance was covered by police officers to ensure they could get away safely.
"Make sure there are no gaps! Do not reveal your faces!" A man commanding through a loudspeaker was heard through the t.v. "We know that Kira is not in the building, just outside!"
"Thank you." Mr. Yagami told her as she helped him get inside. She walked around the car and got behind the wheel before speeding off with a screech of her tires.
"Listen up, there's a good chance that Kira is still in the vicinity of this station. As you move out: proceed with caution! You are not to remove your helmets!" The same man commanded as everyone began to move.
"There you have it." A newsman started speaking at what just happened. "The police refuse to cooperate with Kira! Instead, they are preparing to fight! And, as much as I fear for my own life in saying so, this is right! And it must be done! Kira has become a threat to our very constitution and as citizens, we must fight back! I am NHN's Golden News Anchor, Koki Tanakabara!"
Within minutes, the door closed and Anarchy walked in with her head down, but yet assisting Mr. Yagami at walking in.
"Chief Yagami! Anarchy!" Matsuda said as we all turned to look. Watari began walking over to talk Soichiro from Anarchy.
"Welcome back, Chief." Aizawa said softly. I stood to walk over to Mr. Yagami when Anarchy ran over and hid her face in my chest. I felt her hands gripping my shirt tightly, as if she was trying to hide from Aizawa. I grabbed her shoulders to make her look at me.
"Go sit down, I'll come back after I talk with Chief Yagami." She nodded silently and sat where I once did.
"Ryuzaki," Soichiro started. "I apologize for taking matters into my own hands, I admit I got a little bit carried away. Here, these are all of the tapes and an envelope." He held out his hand which held a bag. Everything Kira sent to the station is in here." I took the bag from him while looking inside at what it contained.
"I can't thank you enough."
"I think I'd better rest for a minute…" He groaned as Watari helped him to a couch. I heard a quick scampering of small feet and a door opening and closing before looking over to see Anarchy running through the room with a water bottle. She went over to Mr. Yagami and gave it to him. I smiled as he thanked her and she scurried back to the chair before I pulled out one tape and the envelope from the bag. 'Mr. Yagami, this won't go to waste!' I mentally declared. 'The post mark is from Osaka. But Kira can control his victims before they die, so he could have delivered it from Osaka without going there himself...'
"Mr. Aizawa, can you please take this to the crime lab right away?" I asked while handing him the bag.
"I've still got a couple of friends down there, I'll make sure they go over every inch of this." He assured me.
"Please do so. While you're doing that we're going to watch these tapes to see if they can tell us anything."
~That morning~
I had just finished watching the tapes when the others walked in. I saw them all send worried glances at Anarchy who was asleep on one of the couches next to me.
"Is she okay?" Aizawa asked with a hint of worry in his voice. I shifted my gaze at her sleeping form. She was covered in a blanket that I had grabbed for her, she looked quite peaceful when she slept. I remembered when she had fallen asleep sometime this morning.
~Flashback~
It was about 3:30 in the morning, Anarchy and I were going over the tapes. My eyes were intensely watching as I felt an increase of weight against my side. I paused the tape to see Anarchy leaned over onto my arm. Soft snores left her mouth as a small smile found its way on my lips. I moved to get up but was stopped by a series of protests in the form of small groans and grabs at my shirt. I sat back down and continued to watch the tapes as she slept.
It was at around 6:30 this morning that I was able to move her without her objecting to it. I shifted her into my arms as I had done so many times in the past before moving her to the couch behind me. She adjusted herself once I laid her down but shivered slightly at the loss of the warmth that was me. After a moment or two, I went to the bedroom and grabbed the blanket from the bed along with a small pillow. Walking back to her, I knelt down and lifted her head just enough to get the pillow to support her and then stood and put the blanket gently over her. I couldn't help but smile again before going back to finish watching the tapes as she slept.
~End Flashback~
"Well, what do you make of these?" Chief inquired as I turned to face them.
"They were definitely interesting. If the police had said yes, and agreed to cooperate with Kira, tape #3 was supposed to be aired; tape #4 if the answer was no. Tape #3 covers the terms of cooperation. Put simply, he's requested that we broadcast the names of more criminals. He seems particularly interested in those who have assaulted others or those who have somehow hurt or taken advantage of the weak and defenceless. Of course, Kira would play the role of the judge in all of this. Furthermore, as proof that the police will cooperate, he wants police officials and L to appear on t.v., to make a public announcement that we plan to cooperate with him. He needs our names and faces, that way he can kill us if the police do anything outwardly suspicious. In other words, he'll hold our lives as insurance." A series of hmms were heard by the others along with a soft sound of movement. I turned my head to see that Anarchy had woken up. In order to avoid her getting frightened by Aizawa being there without her knowing, I got up and walked over to her as she came to her senses a little.
"Mm… Good morning L." She yawned out. I said nothing but help my hand out to her. She took it and I escorted her over to where I was sitting previously and she sat on the floor in front of me trying to wake herself up fully. Soichiro began talking as I felt the side of her head rest against my feet.
"I see. What about the content of the 4th tape if we were to answer no?" The Chief asked with interest.
"The wording is different, but he more or less says the same thing. Mr. Yagami it should go without saying that the answer is no. Please have someone send tape #4 over to Sakura TV and authorize them to broadcast it." I commanded while turning the television off. The all nodded and left to go do different tasks assigned to them. Anarchy was in a light sleep once again and I shook her shoulder to wake her back up.
"Hmm…?" She mumbled while rubbing an eye.
"It's time to get up, Anarchy." I told her softly as I stood. She faced my direction with eyes still closed.
"But I am up." She slurred sleepily before yawning once again.
"Well lets go. It's time for breakfast. Watari said that he'll make us scones today." With that said she stood up, though wobbly and still tired, and looked at me with a small smile.
"Yay, scones!" She cheered before grabbing my hand and dragging me along to where Watari was.
~6 o'clock that night~
"I can only say, it's a shame that your answer is no." Kira's synthesized voice rang out through the broadcast. Everyone was seated where they normally do as we watched. Anarchy was sitting closer than usual on the arm of my chair. She's still not comfortable with Aizawa in the room. "It's clear the the police wish to oppose me. This will not go unpunished. So, I will start by either taking the life of the Director General of the N.P.A. or the detective known as L who is currently leading the investigation against me. The Director General, or L? Who will pay the price for your refusal to cooperate in the creation of a peaceful world? You have 4 days to decide." The broadcast ended there. I saw Anarchy gripping her arm roughly through the corner of my eye. She obviously wasn't pleased with the idea of my death, she'd find a way around me dying if it would kill her.
~The Next Day?~
Soichiro entered the room again after attending a meeting concerning who should go up in response to the broadcast.
"Ryuzaki, I'm afraid it's as you thought." He told me while walking in closer before sitting down.. "Several of our member countries have weighed in and it seems they are in favor of having the real L appear on t.v." I took a sip of my sugary drink before me as Anarchy sat below me eating a plate of strawberries with sugar.
"I think that's the most appropriate choice, given the options." I admitted.
"I disagree." Anarchy mumbled as she chewed. Everyone looked at her excluding Aizawa. She swallowed before beginning to speak again. "If you look at the options fully, having L appear would be the worse decision of the two."
"What do you mean, Angel?" Matsuda asked confused.
"Think about it. It's easier to find a replacement for the Director General of the N.P.A. than it is for the best known detective in the world, don't you think? I'm not saying this based on my own personal connections, I'm saying it through a logical way of thinking about the situation. The only reason that the member nations voted what they did is because of their curiosity to see who L really is and also the fact that some of them might have personal connections to the Director General." She explained. Her words made sense to me, what she said was most likely true. "I can't change what they voted for, only voice my opinion." She said before resuming eating.
"Either way we still have 3 days left before it happens. Maybe we can find some countermeasure." I said before grabbing the fork full of the cake that was sitting before me "AFter all this it would really annoy me," I took a bite and chewed a bit. "If I'm killed by the first person that jumps on the Kira bandwagon."
"Ryuzaki, what do you mean by that?" The Chief asked as I finished chewing.
"That there's a strong possibility that this Kira's a fake. No, we should think of him more as a second Kira."
"A second Kira?"
"I-I don't understand. Why do you think there's a copycat? How could you come to that conclusion.?" Aizawa asked, a bit nervous to speak at all with Anarchy in the same room.
"Well in the beginning, Angel suggested to me that a Second Kira could come along for many reasons. But she has different reasoning as to why this one is a second Kira."
"Looking at the victims the Second Kira used on tape #1, they were just pawn so that Kira could prove himself to the world that he was actually Kira to the Sakura TV people. Now why would Kira need to prove himself? Everyone already knows what he's capable of, so it's out of character. And also the fact that these criminals were too petty to be killed by the real Kira because of that then there wouldn't be a chance that they would be killed but the real Kira before the Second Kira predicted."
"Ryuzaki, Angel, if you had to put a number on it, what's the probability of a Second Kira?" The Chief asked, making sense of what she said.
"This time I'd say it's more than 70%." I answered truthfully. "I really don't like the way he operates; it's not like Kira."
"Not like him?" Matsuda asked.
"In the past, he's traditionally avoided killing innocent people, with the exception of those who were trying to catch him, anyway, if we can capture one Kira, I think it will provide us with a lot of inside on how we can find the other one." I paused before looking over at Mr. Yagami. "Mr. Yagami, I'd like permission to ask your son to cooperate with us on this investigation."
"If you want my son to join the Task Force, does that mean you no longer suspect him?"
"We can't say on if he's been completely cleared, however, his deductive powers are something that would only help us into finding Kira. With that can also come proving your son's innocence face to face with him." Anarchy told him. She made lying look easy when she wanted to.
"If my son wants to cooperate with you, then I have no reason to prevent it."
"I appreciate that, however, please don't tell him that this latest Kira might be a fake. I don't want him to know that yet. We want to make it appear to him that we're still chasing the same Kira. Also it should go without saying, do not tell him about Angel's existence either."
"Yes of course."
~Later That Night & Anarchy's P.O.V. ~
Everyone was gone, it was just L, Watari and I. L and I were sitting in the same room we always did. I was eating more strawberries, but with whipped cream this time instead of sugar.
"L, are you sure about having Light join the Task Force?" I asked looking up at him with a worried expression.
"Everything will be fine, Anarchy. I can assure you, it's better to have him here where you can watch what he's doing rather than him being away and planning on how to kill me."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." I admitted.
"But besides that, is your head okay?" L asked with a hint of concern in his voice. I bit my lip at remembering what happened with Aizawa a few days ago.
"I'm fine, it hurts if it gets too much pressure on it, but I'll be okay, I promise." I smiled up at him.
"I'll believe you." He said as he stood before offering a hand to help me up. I looked at him with a confused expression. Before I could comprehend what was happening, I felt two arms wrap around my shoulders and a hand on the back of my head gently holding it. My cheeks lit up pink, I could feel it from how hot they felt. "Just please be careful. I don't know what I'd do if I lost you to Kira or anything else for that matter…" He said in a soft voice. I closed my eyes and held him closer, grabbing the back of his shirt. Putting my head near the crook of his neck, I smiled.
"I'm not going anywhere. I promise, L." I assured him. We stayed that way for another moment or so before we released each other. He stood there awkwardly, not wanting to meet my gaze. I giggled before grabbing his hand and dragging him along. "C'mon! Let's go play a game. If you can beat me, I'll make you my special cake again!" I challenge. I couldn't help but notice the smile that grazed his face as it spread onto mine as well.
