I can't believe I'm almost done with this story. This story gave me the most feels than any of my other ones and I bet it hurt you guys too. This is the last chapter of this things and I just...I just can't.

I also can't believe how many cliffhangers I've done in this story...sorry

Black-Star held on to Kid as tight as he could, waiting for something to happen. He kept his eyes shut and his face was pressed against Kid's neck. The shinigami's body was even colder than usual.

"Black-Star...are you okay?" Kid asked weakly.

"I'm a little burnt." Black-Star admitted and leaned away from Kid, slowly removing his hands from the other that moment the star saw where they were. "Kid...why does this place look familiar?"

"The fight with Asura." The shinigami and star turned together when they heard a familiar shout.

"Yahoo! Can't hit me, can ya!?" A younger Black-Star asked while he toyed with the large kishin. A younger Kid squatted on the ground, firing round after round out of his death cannons.

"Kid...did we...did we time travel?"

"I guess." Kid's breathing had finally calmed down and he had control of himself again.

"How?"

"When I killed James, the DWMA burst into flames and the building was falling down. The only thing that kept running through my mind is how I have let everyone down. That one small thing I did six years ago caused the death of the people I cared for. I was pissed off. I was pissed at James, at the world...at myself."

"Your shinigami powers were in full force." Black-Star stated.

"I guess since I had no control...it actually bent time and space." Black-Star wasn't able to respond as the two men watched Asura stab the younger Kid in the chest. The older shinigami placed a hand over his chest and felt the old wound throb from the memory.

"Kiddo!" The younger Black-Star cried.

"That was when I realized that I cared for you." The older star said softly, looking at his partner.

"What?" Kid asked, unable to pull his eyes away from himself. Remembering what was running through his mind at that moment.

"When I saw you get hurt. I discovered that I actually cared for you about as much as I cared about myself. Of course, I've changed a lot since then." Black-Star watched his younger self trying to understand the odd pain in his heart. "Are we just going to stand here?" He asked after a moment of silence.

"We can't change the past." Kid stated.

"Am I going to get a lecture like Marty did in Back to the Future?" Black-Star asked with a smile.

"Which movie?" Kid smirked. Black-Star and Kid stumbled over when the reaper's younger self performed his attack that shrunk the kishin back down to normal size. "Soul and Maka will be getting up, we need to hide." Kid grabbed Black-Star's hand and the two went behind a large stack of rocks, making sure that they could watch, but were unable to be seen.

The two men sat there, watching the show that they knew the ending to. Flinching when they were hurt and silently cheering Maka and Soul on during their fight. Kid and Black-Star shared a look when Maka started to attack Asura with scythe blades coming out of her body, they both had forgotten that the girl was also a weapon. Why didn't she ever go into her weapon form anymore?

"I hate just sitting here and doing nothing." Black-Star said through gritted teeth, closing his eyes when Maka screamed in pain.

"Why were we sent so far back?" Kid asked, no longer able to watch the fight either.

"You still have all three striped connected. Try sending us back." The star offered.

"I don't know how." Kid admitted. "I hope we're not stuck here. The others need us."

"Whoever's still alive." Black-Star muttered. He made no protest when Kid punched his arm, not even rubbing it to make the pain go away. The two forgot their argument when the ground started to shake again.

"What is it this time!?" Kid snapped. The two men peeped over the rock and fell back over as a wave of energy pushed through the area. They heard one more thing before everything around them changed.

"Courage!"

Black-Star coughed out dust as it settled on to the ground. Kid patted himself off and looked up, seeing the blue sky. He scanned the area and found himself, Black-Star and the others standing around Maka who stood on top of a tall rock.

"Did we seriously defeat the kishin by shouting 'courage'?" Black-Star asked after getting his breath back.

"To a degree." Kid said.

"I'm still not over the fact that Maka was one the one to make the final blow to the kishin. She just punched him in the face!" The star huffed.

"What happened to 'I've changed since then'?" Kid asked with three clicks of his tongue at the end of his sentence.

"I'm still Black-Star."

"Yahoo!" The younger Black-Star had started dancing. Maka and Soul were facing away from the boy, discussing something neither of the men knew. The other weapons were high-fiving each other and not paying attention to the star either. The younger Kid had his arms crossed and was rolling his eyes at Black-Star. "We did it, we did it!" The young star sang.

"I know what I have to do..." Kid clenched his hands and started walking towards the two boys.

"What are you doing?" Black-Star asked, grabbing Kid's arm and pulling him back behind the large rock.

"I know why we were sent back here. I have to prevent it." Kid looked like as if his statement hurt him.

"Prevent what?" The shinigami couldn't face Black-Star as he answered.

"Us."

"What!?" Black-Star snapped. He grabbed both of Kid's shoulders and forcing the shinigami to face him. "What are you talking about?" He asked softer.

"James was right Black-Star. Everything happened because of me. Because we got together." Kid stated. "If we never get together, then we wouldn't have left Death City. Kim and Jacqueline wouldn't have gone into the DWMA and released James and everyone that we care for wouldn't be dead!" Kid sniffed at the end of his rant, trying to keep control.

"Well...I'm going to be selfish and I'm not going to allow you to deny me the greatest thing in my life." Black-Star walked several steps away from the rock with his hand in Kid's so he and the other man could watch.

"Yahoo Kiddo! We won!" The young Black-Star cheered and grabbed the young Kid, slamming their lips together for a quick moment. The two boys stood in stunned silence, staring at each other.

"Most confusing moment in my life." Black-Star chuckled.

"I think my brain stopped functioning for a while after that." Kid agreed.

"Come on you two! Quit hugging and let's go get something to eat!" Soul's laugh snapped the two boys out of their trance.

"I'm starving!" The young Black-Star announced and ran over to Soul.

"Kiddo? Is that you?" A familiar high-pitched voice asked behind the men.

"I'm not going to turn around." Kid said to himself softly.

"When did you get so tall, son?" Lord Death let out a gasp. "Your stripes...they're so adorable!" Kid finally caved in and turned around.

"Dad." He whispered.

"That's a first." Lord Death chuckled. Kid stepped forward and hugged his father. "And that too."

"I forgot how fast you healed up after your fight with Asura." Black-Star said to himself.

"So...how far in the future are you guys from?" The reaper asked. "And why are you shirtless Black-Star?"

"Wait, how do you know that we are-"

"I did the same thing when I became shinigami. It's very hard to control for the first couple minutes." Lord Death looked down at his son and back up towards Black-Star. "What happens in the future?"

"Um...you're kind of...dead." The star answered.

"Well that's just pleasant." Lord Death said and wrapped his arms around the fully grown Kid. "It's okay Kiddo...you're fading." Lord Death moved back.

"Why can I see the ground through my hands?" Black-Star asked.

"You can only stay in a time period for so long with shinigami powers that isn't the present." Lord Death stated. "How long have you been here?"

"Long enough." Kid stated, his voice becoming a whisper. "Dad, I need to tell you someth-"

Kid and Black-Star completely faded away and landed on the ground inside of Kid's old home. They looked around and tried to figure out when they were, nothing was on fire so they knew they weren't back to the present.

"I'm sick and tired of hiding this, Kiddo." Black-Star's voice echoed from the kitchen. The men shared a look and quickly went behind the large television in the living room they were in, hoping that they were both covered.

"Why should anyone have to know? It's none of their business." Kid ignored the look Black-Star gave him as the familiar statement came out of the young Kid's mouth.

"Come on. I wanna tell everyone that I'm the one that's dating Kiddo. The same Kiddo that never looks at anyone and I, the amazing Black-Star, was able to get him to go out with me." The young Black-Star jumped into the room and plopped himself down on the couch.

"Who said I never looked at other people?" The young Kid chuckled and sat down on the other end of the couch. "How do you guys know that I'm not just really good at hiding it?" The boy asked with a smirk. The young Black-Star sat up and crawled over to the other boy, his arms straddling the shinigami's hips and his face an inch away from the young Kid's.

"Because I would have noticed your stares sooner." The young star said.

"Was that really the line I used?" Black-Star asked quietly.

"Yeah." Kid responded and watched his younger self grab the younger Black-Star and kiss him. "And it worked for some reason."

"This is really creepy." Black-Star said louder than he wanted.

"Who's there!?" The younger Kid demanded, throwing the boy off of him.

"You heard someone?" The young star asked.

"Shinigami, I have good hearing." The young Kid stated and stood up. "Go on, show yourselves."

"Um...Hi." Kid said as he stepped out of from behind the television.

"Are you...me?" The teenaged Kid asked.

"From the future." Kid admitted.

"I become symmetrical?"

"Yeah..."

"Thank God you get over the whole symmetry thing." Black-Star said as he came out from behind the large screen.

"Wait...I only become a full shinigami when..."

"I like how you're not flipping out that they're from the future!" The young Black-Star snapped. "Kiddo, it's adult us! How!?"

"Shinigami powers are very difficult to control when you first get them." The adult Kid answered.

"How far in the future are you? When am I going to lose my father!?" The young Kid demanded.

"I'm twenty-two."

"Dude...that's not that far." The young Black-Star said. "And I got buff." He chuckled.

"I had the attention span of a goldfish." The adult star sighed. "And my voice!" He wailed.

"What's wrong with my voice!?" The teenage star asked, putting his hands on his hips.

"Puberty! Apparently we didn't hit puberty yet at this age!"

"I can't believe I married you." The adult Kid sighed.

"Married!" The boys exclaimed together.

"And I think we broke them." Black-Star said.

"Yeah." Kid chuckled. "Black-Star, I know how to fix the future!" The shinigami faced himself and went on his knees so he would be looking up at himself. "When you finally decide to tell dad about being with Black-Star-"

"I tell father?"

"Yes, we do and it doesn't go well."

"What do you mean?" The young Black-Star asked.

"Lord Death kind of flipped a shit." The adult Black-Star answered.

"He flipped out because he's afraid of us getting hurt." The older reaper stated.

"Why would we get hurt?" The young Kid asked.

"Lord Death had a friend who was like us...he was gay and..." Kid cleared his throat. "He was beaten to death." The boys didn't speak, both of them stunned. "Dad was afraid of that happening to me and...he overreacted. I left Death City with Black-Star and everything went to hell." The boy's were still stunned. "Kim and Jacqueline went into the DWMA and released a fire-kishin named James and he unleashed demon kishins everywhere. They killed many people." Kid wanted to stop but everything came out. "They killed a woman named Bre then Max...then people I knew started to die...Jose, Ryver, Joey, Miriah...Kenna." He choked on that name. "Cylas, Lexi, Stein, Spirit, Kilik, Ox...Liz and Patty."

"Liz and Patty?" The teenage shinigami's lower lip trembled.

"What happened to Tsubaki?" The young Black-Star asked.

"She died...but she was brought back as an immortal by Free." Adult Black-Star answered.

"Free!?" The boys gasped.

"He's a good guy, don't worry."

"Now, what I need you to do-"

"I'll tell father tonight." The younger Kid interrupted himself.

"Uh...actually I was going to say-"

"I have to make sure this future does not happen. Even if it means telling the whole world that I like Black-Star." The young shinigami had fear in his eyes. "I will go on the roof and scream it to the heavens if that means my friends won't die. Hiding in the closet isn't worth losing the people I care for."

"I...I am a lot more mature at this age than I remember." Kid said and stood up. "Was I always like this?"

"Sadly, yes. But I've grown to love it." Black-Star said with a wink.

"Why can I see the wall through my stomach?" The young Black-Star asked.

"We haven't been here that long." Kid stated.

"We changed time...dude we changed time!" Black-Star grabbed Kid's shoulders and gave him a quick kiss.

"We didn't change at all." The younger Kid muttered.

"Except we get to actually fu-" Kid slapped his hand over Black-Star's mouth.

"Is that why you're shirtless!?" The younger Kid exclaimed.

"Blair sets Maka and Soul's house on fire. Make sure she doesn't do that." Kid said right before they faded away.

The men landed back into the Death Room, they didn't feel their bodies changing or their clothes becoming different as well as they put their hands on their heads, new memories flooding into their minds.

"Father...Me and Black-Star are together." Kid stated, holding his breath after his statement.

"Kiddo...I can't allow this-"

"I know you're worried about me ending up like your friend father, but I assure you that we will not end up like that and I am not going to leave Death City." Kid cut his father off and Lord Death stared at his child for a minute. The reaper suddenly remembered when he met his future son and how he said he had died. Maybe they had talked to the past Kid and told him how to prevent his death.

"Kiddo...just be safe." Lord Death hugged his son and Kid shot a glare at Black-Star as the star chuckled.

Lord Death appeared in the room, wearing a strange hat that was colorful and pointed.

"Who are you?" A young girl asked Kid.

"I'm Death the Kid, who are you?" The shinigami asked the girl that was going to join the academy next year.

"I'm Kenna and this are my friends. Ryver, Cylas, Lexi and Tyler." The girl introduced the other twelve and thirteen year olds. Kid had an odd feeling about those names, why did they sound familiar?

"Um...can you help me...I think I'm lost." Another girl entered the room, a sketchbook in her hand.

"Hi, I'm Kenna, who are you." Kenna went in front of Kid, cutting the teenager off.

"I'm Miriah...I'm looking for room two-twenty."

"You're here." Kenna smiled. "You should meet my friends." Kenna grabbed Miriah's arm and showed her the way to the others. Kid had a feeling that the group was going to get along just fine.

"Is it sad that I saw this coming?" Tsubaki asked with a giggle.

"I think it's adorable." Liz chuckled at her embarrassed meister who was trying to hide his blush.

"Yay!" Patty cheered, not understanding what was happening, but loved that Kid was embarrassed.

"So how long have you two been together?" Soul asked.

"How long have you and Maka been?" Black-Star asked.

"A week." Maka responded.

"Then a week and a day." The star responded with a smirk.

"That's why we waited to tell you guys till you got over Soul and Maka getting together." Kid stated, his face back to it's normal pale shade.

Liz appeared at the table, putting one of the hats on Patty who giggled at Soul who was getting his face painted by Maka and Tsubaki helped with the painting as well.

"You are eighteen Black-Star, grow up!" Sid snapped at the man he raised.

"It's not my fault, dad!" Black-Star flinched in shock.

"Dad?" Sid said.

"You did not." Kid gasped.

Sid and Nygus sat together at the table as well, holding hands under the table while they watched their old students with smiles on their faces.

"So who's wearing the dress?" Spirit asked with a smirk after receiving the news from his daughter.

"Papa, that was mean." Maka stated, placing a hand on her swollen stomach.

"I'm just joking. When's the wedding?"

"Hopefully it's not during the exams, I don't feel like having my class missing because they have to go to the most insane wedding ever." Stein said through a cloud of smoke.

"Does it really matter?" Marie asked, a smile on her perfectly smooth face.

Stein, Spirit and Marie stood with Lord Death, the silly hats on their heads as well.

"Ox..."

"Black-Star..."

"Good luck in Spain." Black-Star grabbed the other mans hand and shook it.

"Thanks." Ox responded.

"Would you two just hug already?" Kilik asked with a sigh.

"Our plane's leaving in an hour." Kim said with a roll of her eyes and Jacqueline made a gesture with her hands for the men to hug. Harvard was sitting on the ground with Pot of Thunder and Pot of Fire, the three weapons nodded in agreement with the others.

"Don't be scared." Kid shoved Black-Star forward and with a huff Ox and Black-Star hugged.

Kim and Jacqueline were lighting the candles on a cake while Kilik, Ox and Harvard were playing a game with Pot of Fire and Pot of Thunder.

"Push, Maka, push!" Nygus ordered at the other end of the bed.

"I think I'm going to be sick." Soul groaned.

"Pay attention to your wife!" Black-Star snapped, trying his best not to cry out in pain when Maka squeezed his hand.

"I can see a head!"

Lance sat in his high-chair, throwing cereal around and giggling louder than Patty.

"Hey Kid, are you two just going to stand there all night? Lance will only turn one once." Maka asked the two men.

"Kid...did we?" Black-Star straightened up.

"We did..." Kid looked around the room. Nothing was on fire.

"That one small conversation..."

"Changed the world..."

"Are you okay Kiddo?" Lord Death asked his son.

"Dad.."

"When did Kid start calling you dad?" Marie asked with a giggle.

"Hey Kid! I'm not going to wait over here forever, you know." Kenna called, waving her hands in the air.

"They're alive." Kid said softly. "They're all alive."

"Kid?" Kenna asked with a look of concern.

"Let's party!" Black-Star cheered, running over to the table.

Kid stood there with a smile on his face. Everyone was alive, everyone he cared for was alive.

Blair soon entered the room, running over to Soul and hugging the man. Maka only rolled her eyes and went over to play with her son.

Everything was alright. Everything was fine. The shinigami shook his head, not believing any of this. How much of a difference one small thing, one small misunderstanding had made. It changed the world from being a doomed wasteland to what they would call 'normal' in Death City.

Everything was going to be fine...

"Kiddo!" Black-Star ran over to Kid and scooped him up into a hug.

Everything was going to be just fine.

Plot twist! And I bet you guys loved that ending.

So I need an opinion from you guys. I've had several people ask for a spin-off story for Kenna and Miriah. Pretty much the story of Kenna and Miriah's life, taking the path of the new future. The one where they don't die. Should I do it?
