Ria opened her eyes groggily as her scumbag of a brain told her it was time to wake up. She squinted around her surroundings, trying to get accustomed to the light. She yawned as she stretched her back like a cat and sighed.

She thought about last night. It almost all seem like a dream. Never had she thought that her life would end up as it is now. With BLACKLIGHT running in her veins, it's hard to grasp what is reality and what is not. Here, she thought that maybe this could all be a dream, a dream in which she hopes desperately not to wake up from.

Holding up her right hand and taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and forced herself to think about her long nails. Ria felt something creep out from the bottom of her nails and it crawled from her skin. Gingerly, she opened her eyes.

A gasp of relief and happiness came out from her as she saw the familiar five long and lethal nails protruding where her fingers was. It proved to her that what she dreamt was as real and true as can be. Realising that her nails seemed too long, she willed them to be shorter and they obliged to her will.

Smiling to herself, she willed the nails away and sat on the edge of bed. She blinked her eyes a couple more times to fully chase the sleep away from it and stood up. Feeling her hair being messy and tangled, she ran her hands through it and untangled them as she went towards the door.

"Alex? Dana?" Ria called out as she stepped out of the room. There on her study was Dana, searching and typing away furiously on the computer. Hearing her name called, she paused and turned to her shoulder and pulled a smile, seeing the awakened girl.

"Oh, Good Morning Ria." She said to her.

Ria rubbed her eyes a bit more. "What time is it?"

"12.30pm. I could've woken you up sooner but Alex wanted you to sleep in for a bit longer." Dana answered and spun her rolling chair she was seating on to face her. "You hungry?"

Ria shook her head in response and glanced around in the safe house. "Where's-"

"Alex? He went out to give the formulas to Ragland. He said he'll be back late."

"Alright then. What's the address?"

Dana smirked, almost anticipated that Ria would ask that. Scribbling the address onto a piece of parchment, she handed it over to Ria. "Here. Could you go and get me some coffee as well?" Dana asked.

Taking the parchment and shoving it into her back pocket, Ria nodded. "Sure thing. See ya later, Dana!" Ria ran off out of the safe house, passing through the door frame that obviously had no purpose in the name as there wasn't any door to begin with. Dana glanced at the detached door that was leaning on the other side of the room.

Sighing to herself, Dana grabbed her trusty toolbox and headed over to the door for the umpteenth time.

Once she was out, Ria jumped towards the opposite building's roof and felt a smile tug to her lips. The dreams she dreamt of flying and jumping in great lengths was still vivid in her mind and to be able to relive it was such a blissful rush to her.

She ran towards the end of the roof and jumped again, doing a couple of flips she saw Olympic divers do in the television before landing on top of another roof. She panted, exhilarated and excited. So much endless possibilities she can explore now with her new abilities but Ria shook her head. No, now's the time to focus and find Alex. She's really interested in meeting this Ragland friend of his.

Digging her hands into her back pocket, she retrieved the paper and read the address. She followed where it lead her and blinked when the address turned out to be a shabby apartment in the borders of the Yellow Zone. Ria stood at the entrance of the door and looked around. Shrugging and doing what a normal person would do, she rang the doorbell.

Ria waited calmly for an answer but was met with none. Growing impatient, she pressed the doorbell again. Nothing. Frowning, she jammed her finger to the button and started pressing it like there was no tomorrow. The doorbell rang and echoed loudly inside and Ria gritted her teeth.

"Alex!" She pounded on the door with her other free hand. "I know you're in there! Open the fuck up!" She yelled from outside the door.

"Stop doing that. Ragland's out at the moment." A voice called out from behind her and Ria turned.

Standing with his hands in his pockets was Alex. He looked mildly annoyed and he sauntered over to Ria. He looked her up and down. "Rested enough yet?" He asked her.

"Yup!" Ria beamed happily. "So, what's the next mission?"

Alex raised his eyebrow. "There is no mission right now. But if you count waiting for Ragland to return from his vacation in the Bahamas as a mission, we can start on that." Alex answered sarcastically.

"Ragland is at the Bahamas? That's so cool! How did you know that?"

"He said so in his answering machine." Alex said while whipping out his handphone. He sighed and pocketed it back in. "All there is to do now is wait for him."

Ria pouted. "Well, that sucks. But anyways, you free today?" She asked.

"Umm, I guess so. Before Greene died, I usually spent the time tracking her down but since she's long gone now, I have nothing else to do."

"Who's Greene?" Ria asked and cocked one head to her side.

Alex waved her off. "Never mind." He pocketed his hands.

"Well, since you have nothing better to do, I say we go and kill some more infected at the Red Zone! Can we?" Ria asked, her puppy dog eyes on the ready.

Alex smirked and ruffled his partner's hair. "Fine. As long as you stick to my rules." He chuckled, knowing full well in his head that she won't follow any of it.

In a flash, the Dynamic Duo jumped from their area towards the deepest part of the Red Zone. Alex made extra careful that they were not detected by the BLACKWATCH troops that were fighting the hives that were near the borders and headed deeper in.

Ria frowned, not recognising the street they were in. "Alex, where are we going?" She asked as they whizzed past all the hives and Hunters that lurked in the district.

Alex pulled a smirk. "I think its time for you to enjoy the full extent of your powers, Ria. You did well in following orders yesterday so consider this a treat!" He cried out to her.

Immediately, Ria's eyes glistened in anticipation and delight. What in the world is this reward Alex is talking about? Somewhere in the back of her head, Ria could almost guess that what she always dreamed off was coming true. Well, what she always dreamed off the moment she had received her 'Nails'.

"We gonna kill them zombies?!" Her voice raised an octave at the sentence.

Alex smiled and stopped on top of a roof. Ria stood next to him and Alex turned to face her. On his face was a wide grin.

"Here's your present." Alex said and pointed at a building behind him. Ria's eyes followed his finger and her eyes widened, mirroring the eyes of a 5 year-old meeting an endless heap of chocolates and sweets under the Christmas tree.

"Y-you mean it?" She stammered in amazement as she walked slowly towards the direction of the building. "Really?!" She asked, voice quivering in astonishment and disbelief.

"Yup." Alex laid his hand on her shoulder. "All yours. Not going to stop you because there's no BLACKWATCH around and there's completely no one in the area. So, you can go completely-"

"Bat shit insane on 'em." Ria completed his sentence. She marveled at the 'beautiful' sight that behold itself in front of her. Two tall buildings, covered in black and red goo and practically spewing out Hunters and other Infected alike. Covering a 50 meter radius, were Walkers and Hunters on the prowl and the sick and gruesome moans that they emit nearly brought Ria into a frenzy.

"Now, listen Ria. Even though I'm not gonna join in the fun of obliterating two buildings in one go with you, I just wanna set out just a few ground rules." Alex warned. Ria pouted in annoyance.

"One, don't chase after any Hunters that may flee. Stay within this area." Alex pointed out. "Two, if things get to messy and the BLACKWATCH arrives in a split second, we get the fuck out of here, regardless if you finished fighting the whole lot off. And three," Alex took a deep breath.

"If a Brawler comes, we get the hell out of here."

Ria cocked her head to one side. "A Brawler? What's that?" She liked the sound of that name.

Alex smirked. "You'll know it when you see it." Alex held both of her shoulders. "Now," He spun her to the direction of the two Hives. "Go get 'em, tiger." With that, he gave her a good kick in the butt and Ria plummeted off from the roof and to the ground.

Frowning out of annoyance, Ria rolled her eyes and shifted to her 'Flyer' form. Her wings grew out in a split second and Ria narrowly recovered before she fell to the ground. Flapping her wings with 'Hmph', Ria flew towards her big bounty.

Alex kneeled on top of the roof as he observed her shifting in mid air. She's good. He thought to himself as his eyes followed her. Back in his head, he thought to himself that Ria was well off with BLACKLIGHT than he was. He couldn't even shift that fast on ground, let alone mid air. He spot her took a dive towards a Hunter like an eagle hunting its prey. She then proceeded to gouge the Hunter's eyes out with her talons and with a bird-like screech, she beheaded said Hunter.

She's really good. Alex smirked.

That's about all the time I have folks! See ya next time! ^_^
