The Diamond Family

Chapter 9: Assignment

Perspectives: Snow, Kakuzu, and Deidara

Snow's Perspective

I couldn't sleep. I couldn't stop staring at my ring. Why did Kakuzu put it on my wedding ring finger? Is it just a coincidence? He's not a person coincidence. He'd never ask me to marry him. An impossible dream, but one my heart craves it. I rolled on my side, so I was facing Kakuzu. He was sleeping peacefully. His hair was down and his face was unmasked. When together in such privacy I refused to let him wear his mask. I ran my fingers through his hair. I kissed him gently forehead, before leaving our bed. I paced around the room. Maybe if I shower I can relax enough to sleep. I walked to the bathroom and turned on the hot water. I shed my clothes and wrapped a towel around myself. I stepped into the shower. My eyes closed and hoped the water would wash away my stress.

"Why aren't you in bed", said Kakuzu.

"Can't sleep", I said.

"Did I wake you?" I asked.

"No", he said.

I turned to see him standing behind him. My face grew red when I saw his bare body. He laughed. My heart raced. He pressed me against the shower wall.

"So innocent", said Kakuzu.

He's enjoying this. Kakuzu leaned closer. I turned away before we could kiss.

"He isn't here", whispered Kakuzu.

He pressed our bodies closer together. I gasped. My arms wrapped around his neck. I smashed our lips together. I pushed him against the wall. Small cracks appeared in the tiles. Neither of us needed gentle. He kissed and nipped my neck. His threads traveled over my body. Our wet bodies rubbed against each others'.

"I want to take you up on your offer", whispered Kakuzu.

"What offer?" I asked.

"You know", said Kakuzu as he ran his tongue over the shell of my ear.

I'm not in the mood. He'd reminded me of my village. I wriggled out of his grasp and out of the shower. Kakuzu stared at me with a cute look of confusion. I walked to the shower and kissed him. I can't make love with my village on my mind. I miss my life there.

"Another time", I said.

"When will that be?" asked Kakuzu.

"Don't know", I said with a shrug of my shoulders.

I dressed. I put on one of Kakuzu's shirts. Kakuzu strode out of the bathroom with only a towel around his waist. Water dripped down his well-toned body. If I were in a different mood would be all over him. He's annoyed. He dressed. I watched as he did, but that didn't put me in the mood. Another day.

"Sorry, I'm too tense", I said.

"I can help you unwind", said Kakuzu.

He kissed me.

"Stop", I said.

He pulled away. I want comfort, not passion.

"I promise another night", I said.

He looked at me with the cutest pleading eyes I've ever seen. It was difficult for me to resist that look.

"Don't look at me like that", I said.

"Like what?" asked Kakuzu.

"That puppy dog look", I said.

"I don't have such a look", said Kakuzu.

"You do", I said.

"I don't", said Kakuzu.

"You do", I said.

"What's wrong, Snow?" asked Kakuzu.

"If I tell you, Kakuzu you must promise not to get angry", I said.

"Promise", he said.

"I miss my village", I said.

Kakuzu's Perspective

How can she miss that place? They stole her from us. More importantly, they took her away from me. I pushed down my anger and frustration. I promised her I wouldn't get angry with her.

"Why?" I asked.

"I just do", said Snow.

"That's not a proper explanation", I said.

"Do think if I was capable of giving you real explanation I wouldn't give it to you? All you have to know is I won't betray this organization if that's your concern", said Snow.

"Your loyalty has never been a concern of mine", I said.

What if there's a particular someone she misses there.

"You can't tell anyone of this", I said.

"I won't", said Snow.

"Promise me", I said.

"I promise", said Snow.

My arms wrapped around her pulling her close. She cuddled against me. Snow traced the stitches on my chest. I ran my fingers through her soft hair.

"Was there anything that would have kept you in your village. Do you miss anyone or thing from there?" she asked.

"The people I would have stayed for died long ago. On rare occasion I miss the waterfalls", I said.

Snow's fingernails dug into my skin. What caused this? I smirked. She's jealous. This is a new side of her.

"What are you smirking about?" asked Snow.

"You're jealous", I said.

"I don't share you. Who were these people?" she asked.

"Family", I said.

"Was there a woman?" asked Snow.

"Yes, there was a woman", I said.

I winced as Snow's fingernails dug into my skin with a new wrath.

"What happened to her?" asked Snow.

I shouldn't have mentioned her.

"She wanted nothing to do with me. Thought I was a criminal. I asked her to run away with me but she refused", I said.

"I would have gone with you. How old were you?" asked Snow.

"Around your age", I said.

I wish she were alive at that time. Then I could give her the life she deserved. Our lives together would be completely different. We could marry and she could be a mother. A normal life. Her parents weren't even born, when I was that age.

"Are you okay?" asked Snow.

"Fine", I said.

"She didn't know what she was missing out on. Her loss is my gain", said Snow.

"And why am I such a gain?" I asked.

"You're perfect for me", said Snow.

"Why are you jealous of a dead woman?" I asked.

Snow moved so she was straddling my chest. I can't say I'm not enjoying Snow's new position.

"You're mine", she said.

"I know my treasure", I said.

"Do you still feel for her?" asked Snow.

"No", I said.

"Promise me she means nothing to you", said Snow.

"She means nothing to me. I promise", I said.

"I love you", I said.

"I love you too", she said.

She smiled brightly. Snow moved to her original position.

"If they didn't die would you have stayed?" asked Snow.

I sighed I hoped this would end of this topic.

"If she were alive no but him it would be far more difficult. He was my sensei, but he became much more. The man became a father to me. Allowed me to call him father. I would have done anything for him. Once he died there was nothing left tying me there. Is there any reason that would have caused you stay?" I asked.

"Yes", she said.

I tensed.

"What are they?" I asked.

"If Eiji or Kameko died", said Snow.

I was grateful that Eiji was immortal in this instance.

"Kameko, she was the one called you a bastard. Why has she gained importance in your life?" I asked.

"We grew close. She made me the godmother to her daughter. If something were to happen to her I would be obligated to take care of the child. I wouldn't bring a child into this organization", said Snow.

"And Eiji?" I asked.

"If death were to come to him it would be my responsibility to take on the position as guardian", said Snow.

She yawned. Her eyes closed in a peaceful sleep.

"Kakuzu wake up and wake up Snow too", said voice at the door.

It was twelve in the afternoon. I nudged Snow awake. She groaned.

"What time is it?" asked Snow.

"Twelve", I said.

"That late?!" asked Snow.

She jumped from the bed and quickly dressed. It was odd seeing her in an Akatsuki cloak. I grabbed her arm before she could leave.

"You're forgetting something", I said.

"What?" asked Snow.

"Your mask", I said.

She put on the black half mask I gave her. With the mask, cloak, and hat on I could only see her midnight blue eyes.

"I feel ridiculous", said Snow.

"You look beautiful", I said.

She giggled. Her hair was in a neat bun. I took out the hairpins.

"Kakuzu, I just fixed my hair", said, Snow, as put it up again.

"I like it when you wear it down", I said.

She fixed her hair again.

"It gets in the way. I'm thinking of cutting it", said Snow.

"No, its so beautiful", I said.

I followed her downstairs. Deidara and Pain were waiting for us. Why Deidara was there was unknown to me. Why does he look so happy? I'll wipe that smile right off his face.

"Snow, you will go on a mission to observe the seven tailed jinchuriki", he said.

"You can't send her alone", I said.

"I wasn't planning to", said Pain.

"Then who?" I asked.

"For the moment Snow will be partnered with Deidara", said Pain.

"WHAT?!" I yelled.

Snow embraced me in an attempt to stop me from killing Deidara. I pressed forward.

"Let go!"

"Calm down", said Snow.

I tensed.

"Do you not trust me?" she asked.

I went still.

"I trust you, but not him", I said.

"Kakuzu, I've more the prove I can fend for myself. If he does anything I don't approve of I'll tell you", said Snow.

"I don't like this", I said.

"I know", I said.

"Pack your things, Snow. I'll keep on eye on things here", said Pain.

Deidara's Perspective

Snow stare nervously between the two of us.

"Go, they'll be able to handle themselves", said Pain.

She huffed but left. As soon as she was out of sight Kakuzu grabbed me by the throat. Our leader didn't seem to care about my current position.

"This is your problem, not mine", said Pain.

There's no controlling his temper. Will she save me from this?

"I'll give you this warning once, boy. If you try anything with her I'll kill you", said Kakuzu.

"She'll never forgive you if you do", I said.

Kakuzu smiled.

"She'll be upset with me for some time, but she'll eventually forgive me. If you harm me she'll never forgive you", said Kakuzu.

The bastard's right.

"How do you know she won't stray?" I asked.

"I don't doubt her loyalty. Your intelligence is another matter", said Kakuzu.

He leaned closer to me.

"She's mine, Deidara. She gave me something you'll never have", said Kakuzu.

"What did she give you that was so great? Why would she give you anything to a greedy bastard like you?" I growled.

"She was a virgin when I took her. And she tastes, so sweet", said Kakuzu.

My eyes widened. Why would she give him that? Kakuzu smiled grew at my reaction. A small pale had pulled his arm away.

"Release him", said Snow.

He glanced at her.

"Fine", said Kakuzu.

His grip on my throat slowly released. When I was free of him she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.

"I'll miss you", she said.

He whispered something in her ear. We left.

"What did he whisper to you?" I asked.

"Nothing you need to know", said Snow.

How can she not understand he only wants her for her ability? We walked silently for some time. Was she upset with me? I looked her over. She didn't seem angry. So much of her beauty was hidden. It's a crime to cover such a masterpiece. I only caught a glint of her midnight blue eyes. Her white hair tied in a tight bun. A mask kept her face hidden.

"Why do you hide yourself?" I asked.

"It's safer this way. I can't risk being recognized. It would bring too much attention", said Snow.

Her gaze was focused on the ground.

"Why aren't you talking un?" I asked.

"What's there to talk about?" asked Snow.

"Have you done a mission of this level before?" I asked.

She nodded.

"All we have to do is watch a child for a few days. Isn't it better suited for Zetsu", said Snow.

"Do you really want Zetsu near a child?" I asked.

"Good point", said Snow.

Her voice held such pain. She shook head as if to get rid of a thought.

"Why do you hate, Itachi?" asked Snow.

"He didn't tell you?" I asked.

"No, so tell me", said Snow.

She stared at me with those sparkling midnight blue eyes. If I tell her what I think will she side with me or Itachi?

"I never wanted to be a member of the Akatsuki", I said.

"Why?" asked Snow.

"I crave the freedom to do what I want when I want. Did you want to become a member? If I didn't know better I could swear I saw hesitation in your gaze", I said.

"I've made my choice", she said.

"For me, it wasn't a choice", I said.

"How do you see it?" asked Snow.

"Another group trying to conform me to their ways. I was tracked down. If I defeated Itachi I was free to go, but you know the outcome. My downfall was his inartistic Sharingan", I said.

"Is it inartistic because it has no beauty in your eyes or is it because it caused your downfall and forced you into the Akatsuki?" asked Snow.

That's a difficult question to answer.

"Both, it's not like your gift", I said.

"What do you mean?" asked Snow.

"In simple words, your kekkie genkia is beautiful", I said.

She blushed.

"Thanks", said Snow.

Snow's Perspective

Deidara kept checking me out when he thought I wasn't looking. Telling him to stop will only encourage him. I don't understand his interest in me. There are prettier women than me. I must stop thinking of him. That's exactly what he wants. I focused on the mission. What is the purpose of watching this child? What does she mean to us?

"What will happen to this child once she becomes an adult?" I asked.

"Umm, I'm not the best person to explain that", said Deidara.

That can't be good. I'm I really willing to let a child have such a fate? We continued in silence. They weren't far from the Hidden Waterfall Village. I was unsure if we're actually going inside the village.

"Snow, scout the village", said Deidara.

I nodded. I took off my cloak and mask. I performed as simple transformation jutsu. It was a simple change. The only change was I made my hair blonde. I stepped into the village. No one took notice of me. I heard crying. I followed it. The source of the tears was a girl. She looked about twelve. She had short mint green hair and bright orange eyes. This was my target. I shouldn't even be this close to her.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

She looked. There was such surprise in her eyes.

"Are speaking to me?" asked Fuu.

"There no one else here", I said.

She looked around.

"Me", she said.

There was such shock in her voice.

"May I join you?" I asked.

"YES!" she said.

"What has you crying?" I asked.

"The other kids were making fun of me", said Fuu.

"They're not worth your tears little one. If they make you cry they aren't worthy of the title friend", I said.

"Will you be my friend?" she asked.

"I would be happy to be your friend, but first you must tell me your name", I said.

"Fuu", she said with a bright smile.

She hugged me tightly.

"I finally have a friend!" squealed Fuu.

"My name is Snow", I said.

"That's an odd name", said Fuu.

"I suppose it is, but it's the one given to me", I said.

"Why you here?" asked Fuu.

"Visiting family. They were too busy to show me around the village. Could you maybe give me a tour?" I asked.

"I would love to", said Fuu as she grabbed my hand.

She showed me around the village. It was a beautiful place I would give it that. Fuu also told me a great deal of its history. When the sun started to set, I met with Deidara.

"You weren't supposed to befriend the child", said Deidara.

"You were watching", I said.

"Only having my teammate's back", said Deidara.

"I capable of doing my job. Gaining her trust will make things easier. We've done our job let's go", I said.

"Why not complete it?" asked Deidara.

"That's not our mission", I said.

"She only has a few years", said Deidara.

"Let her enjoy them", I said.

He rolled his eyes.

"I got a message from, Zetsu, while you were in the village with your friend. We are free to capture the Seven-Tails if the moment arises. She leaving for a mission tomorrow night with her squad and sensei. Once they're far enough away from the village we'll go after them", said Deidara.

"It won't arise", I said.

"We were given our orders", said Deidara.

"We were given a suggestion. You can follow it if you wish, but I won't assist you", I said.

We had a few hours to burn until the squad left. I pitied the sensei. I would hate myself if I allowed harm to come to one of my students. Fuu is about the same age as my students. I shook the thought from my mind. I needed to keep my mind off it. I should take the time to learn more about Deidara. I don't know much about him. I should change that since we'll be spending so much time together.

"What's your village like?" I asked.

"I'm surprised you don't know much about the Hidden Stone Village. Especially since the Land of Earth neighbors the Land of Wealth ", said Deidara.

The Land of Wealth is the name of the country that the Hidden Diamond Village is located in. Uhh, just saying the name of my village makes me miss it!

"What is it like there?" I asked.

"Nothing special until I turned it into a grand piece of artwork", said Deidara.

"So you blew it up", I said.

"No, I turned into art", said Deidara.

"I don't understand your art, but I'll give this you're passionate. I respect that", I said.

He smiled.

"Why did you leave?" I asked.

"My art wasn't appreciated", said Deidara.

There was a slight sadness in his eyes. It grew dark.

"There's no point in lingering let's set up camp", said Deidara.

I nodded. There hideout near here. He found a group of boulders that leaned against a side of a cliff. No one would take a second glance at it. He did the hand signs. The boulders slid away revealing a passage. The shelter was very basic. One bedroom and a bathroom. A bed was the centerpiece of the main room. There wasn't a point of changing. Deidara took off his cloak and shirt. I stared for a few seconds. My eyes lingered on the mouth sewn closed on his chest. He let his blonde hair loose. His body was familiar.

"See something you like?" asked Deidara.

I turned away, but there was no hiding my blush.

I glared at him, but it didn't faze him. He'd won this small battle. There only one reason my eyes lingered. That is he so resembles Takumi. I was pulled into a memory of my past love.

Snow's Flashback

I searched for Takumi. Where is he? I searched the room he last painted, but he wasn't there. He must be in his studio. I creaked open the door. When I set eyes on him, my face went red. He only wore a towel loosely around his waist. He was wet.

"Sorry, I'll come back later", I said.

I kept my gaze focused on the ground.

"Stay, your visit is a pleasant surprise", he said.

I took a breath and turned to face him. This was the first time I hadn't seen him covered in paint. He moved closer. I couldn't meet his eyes.

"Look at me", said Takumi.

"But you're-

"Look into my eyes", he said.

He gently touched my face. I meet his gaze. Those ice blue eyes looked at me with such compassion.

"Honey, you are so pink", said Takumi.

My back hit the wall. For the first time in my life, I didn't mind being cornered. I've never willingly been this close to a man.

"Honey, I crave you. Please just grant me one taste" whispered Takumi.

"O-kay", I said.

I didn't know what he meant, but I trusted him completely. He gently kissed my neck, while his rough hands explored my body. Thick risen scars on the palms of his hands pressed against my sensitive skin. I was afraid to touch his skin, fearing I might do something to upset him. I don't want to ruin this.

"You can touch me", said Takumi.

I timidly touched his skin, it was warm. I gasped when one of his fingers press gently into me.

"Takumi it feels weird", I whined as I tried to get away from his fingers.

"Shh, it will good soon", said Takumi.

It soon became pleasurable. I moaned. So good. A wonderful sensation started between my legs. A wave of pleasure swept through my body.

"Such a beautiful expression, Honey", said Takumi.

He was so close. Something hard pressed against my inner thigh. He pulled off my shirt. His kisses moved down my chest. I moaned. Then he suddenly stopped.

"Takumi?"

He backed away.

"Did I do something wrong?" I asked.

"No, sweetheart. If I don't stop now I'll lose control. You aren't ready to go any further", said Takumi.

I returned to reality. Why did that mind bring me back to that moment? Takumi my past. Yet, he still has an effect on my present. I've moved on. That's what he wanted me to do. I took off my mask and hat off. I won't sleep well tonight. I let my hair down. Deidara joined me in bed. I turned away from him.

"Keep your hands to myself", I said.

They looked too similar.

"Deidara, do you have any siblings?" I asked.

"Mmm, why do you ask un?" asked Deidara.

"Curious", I said.

"I once had an older brother. He left the village when I was young", said Deidara.

His voice was pained.

"What was his name?" I asked.

"He must have changed his name before leaving to make it more difficult for anbu to track him. They never found him", said Deidara.

"Thank you", I said.

I closed my eyes and I hoped sleep would come soon.

Deidara's Perspective

Snow slowly fell asleep. I haven't thought of Leo for years. I don't even know if he's alive. My gut told me he was in a better place. If there were the afterlife or somewhere else I don't know. Leo was fifteen when he left our village. I was only six. By now he'd be thirty-two. My thoughts traveled to my childhood.

Deidara's Flashback

"Brother, wake up", said Leo as he nudged me awake.

"It's too early", I whined.

"Part of being an artist is being willing to do almost anything for the sake of our art", said Leo.

"I changed my mind I want to be shinobi instead", I said as I tried to fall asleep again.

"You can be both silly", said Leo.

He picked me up and I fell asleep.

"Baby brother wake up", said Leo.

"I'm not a baby!" I yelled.

I finally woke up. He sat me down on the edge of the front porch. My eyes widened when I saw the oranges, pinks, and yellows that colored the sky.

"Was this worth waking up early?" asked Leo.

"Yes, it like a slow-motion explosion", I said.

"I wish it last longer", said Leo.

"It only lasting a few minutes is what makes it wonderful", I said

"You and I are very different, Dei", said Leo.

An anbu ninja appeared in front of us. Leo gave a tired sigh. He must have another mission. Why does he never have time for me?

"Sorry to interrupt, but the Tsuchikage wants to speak with you", said the anbu.

I frowned.

"Tell Onoki I'll meet with him later. I promised my brother I'd spend the day with him. I attend to keep that promise. Now leave", said Leo.

The anbu disappeared.

"Leo, you don't have to spend your day with me", I said.

"A made a promise Deidara and a man is only as good as their word. Remember", said Leo.

He ruffled my hair. I huffed and tried to fix it.

"You can choose breakfast", he said.

"Waffles!" I yelled.

He smiled. Leo took me to my favorite waffle place. Something is wrong he never treats me this nicely unless he's going to tell me something bad.

"Nothing's wrong, Dei. I only wanted to treat you to breakfast", said Leo.

I dug in.

"Why do you keep refusing to be Tsuchikage? Old man, Onoki wouldn't step down for anyone. You're his favorite student and he listens to you", I said.

"I've told you before I never wanted to be a ninja. I wanted to be a painter from the start, but our parents refused me that", said Leo.

"Is that why you sewed shut the mouths on your hand?" I asked.

"Yes", said Leo.

We stayed out until late. I yawned loudly.

"Mommy will be angry at you for keeping me up so late", I said.

Leo put me in my bed.

"Night", I said.

"Goodnight Dei", said Leo.

"Don't call me that", I said.

"One day you will miss me calling you that", said Leo.

"Won't", I said.

Woke late at night to Mommy and Daddy yelling. I followed their voices. I opened the door and saw them yelling at Leo. What did he do?

"Please, stop this arguing while Deidara is here", said Leo.

His voice was so calm even though our parents were so upset with him.

"What's wrong big brother?" I asked.

"Nothing, go to bathroom and back to bed", said Leo.

"No, you brother is ruining his chance of becoming the most powerful ninja in the village!" yelled Mommy.

"He already is", I said.

"But he could be so much more", said Daddy.

"He fine justs the way he is!" I yelled.

"Thank you Deidara, but it's time for you to go to bed", said Leo.

"But-

He pushed me toward the door. Leo ruffled my hair.

"Sleep well", he said.

I did as told, but I couldn't fall back asleep. A few hours later there was a knock. Leo let himself in.

"You awake, Dei?" he asked.

"Yes",

He put down his bag and took a seat next to me.

"I never wanted this life for you. We were both forced to become a ninja", said Leo.

My eyes went to his bag.

"Where are you going?" I asked.

"The Hidden Diamond Village. I was accepted as an apprentice by one of the finest painters. I never thought I'd actually be accepted, but now that I have it I can't let it go", said Leo.

"Please don't go", I begged.

"You're the only thing I'll miss about this place", said Leo as he wiped away my tears.

"Don't go", I cried.

"I'm sorry Deidara", said Leo.

Leo disappeared into the darkness and I chased after him.

"Deidara, come back right this instant young man!" yelled Mommy.

I don't care if I make Mommy angry. I can't let Leo leave. He's my best friend.

"Let him go he can't get too far", said Daddy.

I found Leo. I ran up to and hugged him.

"Deidara?"

"I'm coming with you", I said.

"You belong with mom and dad", said Leo.

"Why?" I asked.

"You'll understand once you're older", said Leo.

He picked me up and carried me back to my room.

"Dei, you belong here", said Leo.

"No, I don't I want to be here without you", I said.

"You'll stay here. Dei no more argument!" yelled Leo.

I was shocked. Leo had never yelled at me before. Why doesn't he want me to come with him? I won't bother him.

"Deidara, I'm sorry for yelling, but you belong here. One day you'll become one of the most powerful ninjas this village has seen. You'll even surpass me", said Leo.

"You think so", I said.

"I don't lie to you. Once become strong you can do what you wish. If it's staying or leaving it's up to you", said Leo.

"Okay", I said.

"Don't be sad. I have a gift for you", said Leo.

He put a small sculpture of a bird in my hand. I couldn't recognize what kind of bird it was.

"It's a phoenix Deidara. A phoenix lives forever, but when gets too old it will burst into flames to be reborn", said Leo.

"A mix of out arts", I said.

"Yes, Dei", said Leo.

When I woke, I was home tucked into bed. I went into my brother's room and saw he was really gone. I went to the kitchen. I was stunned to see old man Onoki sitting at the table.

"Do you mind if I speak to the child alone?" he asked my parents.

They left.

"Are you angry with my brother?" I asked.

"No, I told him I supported his choice. He asked one thing of me before I left", said Onoki.

"What?" I asked.

"For me to take you on as my student", said Onoki.

I returned to reality and tried to push the past from my mind. Snow laid close to me. I tried to relax. To this day I don't understand why Leo didn't take me with him. How would my life have turned out if I'd gone with him? Whatever happened to him I hoped he found peace. Snow moved closer. I ran my fingers through her hair. She was only doing this because she thought I was Kakuzu. I'll enjoy it anyways. I slowly opened my eyes and saw Snow looking at me. She was dressed, which was disappointing. We slept most of the next day away.

"It's time to go", said Snow.

I got out of bed.

"You've discovered something you hate about this organization", I said.

She didn't say respond. Snow followed me out of the hideout.

"Deidara",

I turned to see her.

"I won't do this", said Snow.

"I'll take care of the girl. You stop her sensei and teammate occupied", I said.

"Thank you", said Snow.

"If things get bad you'll have to join the fight", I said.

"I understand", said Snow.

Snow's Perspective

We waited for her team on the border.

"Are you sure you can take her yourself?" I asked.

"Have trust in my craft", said Deidara.

The squad soon came into view. I'm sorry Fuu. This is my life now. Deidara separated Fu from her teammates. I easily knocked out the two genin before they could see me. I would bring as little harm to the children as possible. I bound their wrists and legs. Now I only had to take care of their sensei.

"What do you want?" he asked.

"Nothing from you", I said.

The man seemed to have no concern for his students. He didn't see any what concern for Fu.

"Ah, you after Fu", he said.

I nodded.

"Take her you'll be doing this village a favor", he said.

I killed him with little difficulty. He should care for all of his students equally. Now it's up to Deidara. I watched as they soared through the sky. I pray that he can take care of her on his own. I went to the children. They were maybe ten or eleven. I went through their pockets and pulled out their IDs. Their names were Kegon and Yoro. They were only unconscious. Deidara was still chasing after Fu. Part me prayed he would be injured and we'd make an escape. But it will be only a matter of time before he catches the genin. If I were to step in I would only get in the way. A second clay bird fell from the sky. It nudged against me. He's going to make me join this battle. I jumped on. I joined him on his bird. We flew swiftly through the air. I felt sick. I blocked Fu's attack with ease.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Draining her of her chakra", said Deidara.

Hopefully, this will work.

"How far a range do you blades have?" asked Deidara.

"A hundred feet give or take", I said.

"It will make for a good distraction", said Deidara.

"Can you give me a bit more information", I said.

"No time", he said.

Giant diamond blades sprung from the ground. They sparkled brightly in the dark.

"I need you on the ground", said Deidara.

I dove to the ground. I watched as Fu transformed into a red monster with glowing white eyes. She came charging at me. The beast crashed into me. I grabbed her tails and sent her through diamond blades. Every time she tried to escape a diamond blade appeared in front of her. What is taking Deidara? Seven tails bite down on my shoulder. There was a horrible crunch. It seemed to cause her more pain than I, but the bite left me with a horrible burning sensation.

Deidara's clay birds flew above me. He dropped a giant bomb from above. There was no way this would hurt. A blinding light reflecting off the blades. I closed my eyes in time, but the jinchurki was blinded. She crashed into my diamond blades, incapable of finding her way out. Chains burst through the ground and wrapped around Fu. Keeping her still so she wouldn't cause further damage. The chain glowed red as stole away her chakra. Another explosion went off it was full force. What the hell?! My diamond blades shattered and the jinchurki was freed. My ears were ringing and blood dripped from them. Deidara watched from above.

Before I could call him down, a massive ball of black chakra hit me full force. I took the full brunt of the attack. Most of my body was protected, but my head took the full impact. Everything went dark.

Deidara's Perspective

I searched the wreckage for Snow.

"SNOW!" I yelled.

The diamond shrunk back into the earth. I lost all interest in the task at hand. I had to find her. I found laying life on the ground I land next to her. The jinchuriki was nowhere to be seen. Please, be alive. I landed and next to her and to her side. She was breathing! Blood leaked from her ears. As I lifted her she gave a pained moaned. I can't go back with her like this. Kakuzu will kill me. I placed in her bed and hope she'd recover. Hours past and she showed no signs of moving. I held her hand in mine.

"Please up Snow", I begged.

Those midnight blues slowly fluttered open. Her eyes went wide.

"TAKUMI!" yelled Snow.

She tackled me to the ground, smashing our lips together. I joined in the kiss. It was wonderful. I explored every inch of her mouth. She pulled away from me and scowled. Snow went into tears.

"You're not my Takumi. Who are you?" asked Snow.
