Chapter 5
Credit: Fucking Perfect by P!nk and Welcome To My Life by Simple Plan
Chiron's POV
"What?! I can't be the daughter of Apollo!" Sarah said.
"You are the daughter of Apollo. You were claimed when you walked in." I said.
"But if I'm the daughter of Apollo, then why is Hades' symbol on the roof?" she asked.
"We don't really know." I answered her. "We were told to give it to you."
Sarah's POV
After I talked with Chiron, I heard my name being called from the bottom of the hill.
"Hey Sarah, is it nice being a demigod?" Nico asked as he joined me at the top of the hill.
Two Weeks Later
When Nico finaly asked me out on a date I almost leapt for joy. I have been waiting forever!
We were sitting by the lake, sticking our feet in, when he asked me. Of course, I said yes.
Now, we were getting the food for a picnic on the Hollywood sign. He shadow-traveled us there.
We kept asking each other random questions while we ate our McDonalds, cheese it's, crackers, and other snacky foods.
"So, whats ypour favorite color?" Nico asked me.
"Dark purple, yours?" I asked.
"Pretty morbid for an Apollo." he muttered. "Anyways, as you probably guessed, mine's black."
""Black's not a color." I said, laughing.
"Then its my favorite shade." he smirked.
Silence.
"Whats your life like?" he asked.
I took a deep breath and picked a song that best described my life. "I made a wro ng turn, once or twice. Dug my way out, blood and fire. Bad decisions, that's alright. Welcome to my silly life. Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood, Miss. know when its all good. It didn't slow me down."
Again, silence.
"What about yours?" I asked.
"Do you ever feel like breaking down? Do you ever feel out of place? Like somehow you just don't belong, and no one understands you? To be hurt, to feel lost, to be let out in the dark. To be kicked when your down. To be on the edge of breaking down, and no one's there to save you." Nico said bitterly. His cigarette hung limply in his hand.
"You know I hate it how you smoke, right?" I asked.
"It's not like its easy to stop." he said.
"So, what else is screwed up about your life?" I asked.
"My mother died when I was two, in the year 19 something. I was stuck in a hotel for 70 years. My sister Bianca died when I was ten. Percy promised he would bring her back but he didn't. And I'm guessing they told you about Hazel." he said.
"Yeah, they did. Why did you do it?" I asked.
"I didn't want to." he said. "They made me do it."
"Who?" I asked softly.i knew the subject was getting too deep.
"Them,"
I hugged him. I felt bad for him, I really did. His eyes were shattered glass.
"Come on," I said, wipping a stray tear off of his face. "We need to get back."
The sunset was almost over. The sky was barely lit as the sun slipped down.
