After the war, Gallifrey had taken years to recover. The royal house had been devastated once they had found out that Rassilon had died during the fighting and the secret location to the Princess gone forever. They had searched throughout his office hoping to find anything, but they were unsuccessful. He hadn't written anything down or told anyone to the location of the heir. He had kept it safe, completely safe.
The Queen had been devastated for the longest time that the people were beginning to assume that the royal family would collapse. If it did crumble, it would be the first time, in a very long time, that the royal family would be compromised.
With time, even the Royal family had made a recovery as well and 10 years later, a second princess, "Star" had been born. Gallifrey had rejoiced at the birth. They finally had an heir to the throne.
As Gallifrey was getting ready to celebrate the Little Princess' 9th birthday, the Queen had taken her second daughter to her chambers. The Kingdom had been quiet about the first child, but it was time Star found out about her older sister.
"I have a sister?" Star asked her mom as she looked at the first princess' baby photo.
"Yes, an older sister."
"Where is she? Why isn't she here?"
"About 10 years or so ago, there was a big fight happening here and we had to send her away to make sure she was safe. There was one person who knew where she is, but now, he is in heaven, so we don't know where she is right now."
"What is her name?"
"We had called her 'Rose'."
The birthday party had been going on for a while and everything that was great. Everyone had been having a good time, especially Star, she was loving all the attention that she was receiving. Every year, she enjoyed her birthday the most, but now, knowing she had an older sister, Star was now wishing that her sister would be here now, to celebrate her day together.
"Master, do you have a siblings?" Star had asked one of the royal guards.
"No, I don't, Princess, but I did have a best friend who was a like a brother to me. We did everything together, especially get in trouble."
"Why isn't he here with you?"
"He did something brave, but in the end, it was very bad. He had to go away."
"What did he do?"
"I promise you that once you are older, I will tell you, but not today. Today, we are celebrating your birthday, now go have fun." The Master sent her off. She had brought up memories he hadn't thought of in so long.
The party was still going when the guards were alerted of an incoming ship with landing coordinates in the middle of the party room. The party had stopped as soon as they heard the alarm and the royal family had been moved to the back of the room to protect them. The Master was in front of the vanguard of the protectors.
They were all ready with armament for the intruders, but they were shocked when they saw a TARDIS materializing right in front of them in the form of a Public Police Call Box. As soon as it was completely there, the Master's mind was assault with the wave of the Doctor's mind.
"Doctor?" Master said loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.
"Master, if it is indeed the Doctor, he is to be arrested at once. He is returning without consent."
"Yes, My Liege." The Master agreed after a moment. It seemed like his 'brother' was returning him.
The Master walked to the TARDIS and tried the door only to find it locked. "Doctor, you have returned without proper consent and authorization. Come out now and be prepared to be arrested."
There was a moment of time before they heard the locking mechanism in the works. Slowly the doors opened wide and the Doctor walked out, holding the hand of a young blonde woman. He kissed her hand and dropped to his knees with his hands on his head. The Master walked over to him and arrested him without hesitation.
"Why did you come back?" The Master whispered into his ear.
"I had no choice. You will see." The Doctor replied to him as he was moved away.
"Where are you taking him?" The young woman asked them.
"Don't worry about him. He will be taken care of as we will see fit." The King told the woman. "Now who are you? Has he taken you against your will?"
Before anyone could answer the king, Jackie came out of the TARDIS with the items in hand and walked over to him. Without a word, she handed them to him and walked back to stand beside Rose. She didn't know what was about to happen, but like any mother, she was ready to protect her daughter. The King was silent as he read the gallifreyan letter.
As soon as he was done reading the letter, he looked at the group in shocked. He couldn't believe it, after all this time. He handed the letter to his Queen for her to read. As she read, her hand went to mouth in shock. She couldn't deny what she was reading as she recognized her hand writing.
"He brought you here? Why? Where did he found you?" The Queen asked once she had recovered from shocked.
"I've been travelling with the Doctor for a while now. He picked me up on a planet called Earth." Rose quickly told them, hoping any information would help the Doctor out.
"My name is Martha and I am a doctor on Earth. I've travelled with the Doctor as well. One day, I went to visit Rose and she was sick, very sick. The Doctor was by her side the whole time. He was the one who was able to figure out that Rose needed to come here; that the help she would need, would be here." Martha told everyone as she stepped in front of Rose. "She has two heartbeats. The Doctor confirmed that she is indeed from Gallifrey. She is a Time Lord."
"Get the medical staff and get her ready. Confirm everything." The King ordered to one guards to move. "What is your name?"
"My name is Rose Tyler." She told the King and gave him the names of the rest of her group. The Rulers gasp at the name.
"Come with me, please. Your group of friends can come with you." The King told the young woman who could be his long lost daughter.
The Master lead the Doctor down to the cells. During the trip, the only thing you could hear was the footsteps of the prisoner and the guards. Even though it was so quiet, the Master's mind was racing as to why the Doctor had returned now, especially since he was still banned from Gallifrey. The Doctor could be crazy most of the time, but not crazy. There had to be a good reason on the return.
"In here, Doctor." The Master told the man as he held the door opened. The Doctor was pushed in by the guards and the Master closed him in. "You may leave, guards. I will stay here for a bit."
Both 'brothers' stayed silence and looked at each other. The Doctor could tell that the Master wanted to ask him questions about coming back, but didn't know where to start. He just stayed silent until Master was ready to ask.
"Why?" Were the first words the Master spoke. "Why did you come back now when you knew this would happen?"
"I had no choice. One of my companions needed help that is only offered on Gallifrey. If she doesn't received it, she could be sick for the rest of her life."
"How do you know that Gallifrey will help? They could refuse to help her since she is with you. Have you thought of that?"
"Yes, I have thought of that, but I know that they will help her."
"She is from Gallifrey and someone important. They will help her."
"What are you talking about?"
"I met Rose a few years ago and have been travelling with her ever since. At first, I was a grumpy old man, but she made me better. About a week ago, my companions, Rose, became very sick with a fever and such, so we brought her to her Mum's. We were there a day when more of our companions arrived. Martha, the coloured one, is a doctor and listened to Rose's heartbeat. She quickly discovered there was two hearts."
"Two?"
"Yes, two. Afterwards Jackie, the older blonde, brought us an gallifreyan blanket along with a letter. The letter was in gallifreyan writing. Everything in me, was telling me that Rose was from Gallifrey. Jackie told us that they had found Rose in a pod in the middle of a forest. We went to the location and the pod was still there. Of course, it was from Gallifrey."
"So obviously, this Rose is from Gallifrey, but how is she important?"
"The letter was from Rassilon, Master."
"Rassilon?"
"Ya, him. It was the letter that he was required to write to be sent off with the Princess."
"You are saying that this Rose is the Princess that was sent away during the war?"
"Yes, I did a blood test on her which proves that she is from Gallifrey. The letter has Rassilon and the royal stamp. She is coming into her Time Lord mind and body, and I strongly believe that she is the Princess. If I am right, the Royals should be with the medicals to prove the letter."
"I can't believe this. Gallifrey will have it's rightful heir again." The Master said as he digest all the information he had just received. "And that is part of the plan, isn't it?"
"I always have a plan, Master, you should know that."
"Yes, all to well. I just hope that whatever you are planning, it goes well. I hate you seeing you in here, but it's my job."
"Since it will take a while before they are looking for you and speaking of jobs, how did you manage working in the Royal Family Guards? Honestly, that is the last place I saw you doing, but at the same time, it suits you."
"Really? This is what you want to talk about?"
"Well, I have the time right now, might as well. It will take the healers a while before they are done with Rose."
"You are insane, you know that." The Master shrugged as he looked at his best friend.
"Yes, I've been told that many times. Now, please sit down and talk."
"Your Highness, the result does show that she is indeed the missing Gallifreyan Princess. She has return home." The healer told his king.
"You double checked everything?"
"Yes, Your Highness, we did. We wanted to make sure that everything was confirmed before we told you. She is your daughter. She is resting right now and is with her friends that came with the Doctor."
"Beside that, is she alright?"
"Since she has not been on Gallifrey her whole life, she did not attend the process the children go through at the age 8, because of that, her mind is currently trying to expand to that of a Time Lord. She will need a lot of rest and our help, except for that, she is perfectly healthy."
"That is great to hear. Would it be ok to move her to a room?"
"Yes, I believe that a comfortable bed would be better for her health. I would suggest moving her to a new room after the evening meal. You may want to find rooms for her companions near hers. I do not think they will stay far from her."
"I shall move them to the east wing. Thank you very much."
"I will let the Princess know that they will be moved later on today."
"The medical man said you will be moved into a normal room after supper." Mickey told them as he gave them the message.
"That is great. Hospitals are hospitals and I don't like them." Rose said as she sat up in bed.
"Ya, we are going to have rooms near you too. I guess the king is smart enough to keep us together."
"Yes, we will still be near each other. I still can't believe it we are here." Donna sat at the end of Rose's hospital bed.
"I wonder how the Doctor is doing?" Rose wondered which caused the rest of the group.
"Well, I can go check if you want, Rose."
"Thanks, Jack, that would be great." Rose told him as he left for his 'mission'.
"Did they tell you anything more, Rose?"
"Unfortunately, not yet. The doctor said they would tell me more later on along with the King and Queen. I think they are concern with our Doctor as well."
The Doctor and Master had been talking for a while now. Both had lost track of time, they were enjoying catching up. They talked about anything and everything, Rose, and all their adventures.
Master had been surprised by the things that the Doctor had done and with who had been travelling, especially with Rose. He couldn't believe that the missing Princess had been alive and travelling with his best friend; what really surprised the Master was the fact that the Princess also happened to be 'Bad Wolf'.
"Doctor? Are you here?" An American voice was heard coming in the room.
"Ya, Jack. I'm here."
"Hey, Doc. How is your 'room'?" Jack joked when he saw the Doctor in a cell. "Oh, very cozy. They sure know how to treat you."
"Oh, I just love my accommodation. Want to join me?"
"I would, but apparently I already got a room. How about you introduce me to your friend?"
"Jack, this is the Master. Master, this is Jack." The Doctor introduced the two men.
"Captain Jack Harness." Jack offered his hand to the Time Lord. "Pleasure."
"Oh, don't you start!" Doctor groaned in the background.
"Mine as well. I will take my leave for now. I will be back later, my friend." The Master had left both men alone.
"How is Rose doing?"
"She is doing better, Doc. They are moving her in a room later on tonight. They told her that it would take about a rough week for her to be 'fully develop' but should be fine at the end of it."
"Be there for her for whatever she needs. It is going to be rough, she will be need all the help she will can. They will probably be focusing on her and less on me. Hopefully, with this, it will give us more time to put the plan in action."
"Everything will be alright, Doctor. We will take care of Rose, just like we promised."
"I know, Jack. Well, I think I will take a nap. It's been a long day."
"You taking a nap? Stop lying, you just want to get rid of me. Well, I will tell Rose you say hi."
"Thank you, Jack."
