Author's Note: So hey everyone this is chapter 5! I know this took some time but I originally wrote this chapter on my iPhone but since I've got my laptop back I was able to rewrite this properly on my laptop which I am very happy about!

A Missing Flame Chapter 5
"Hello Elena, I'm sure you've heard of me. I've come to give you an offer I'm sure you will like."
Elena glanced nervously at her surroundings as the voice echoed amongst the bedroom walls.
"What are you doing here Katherine?" Elena backed up slowly against her wall as she felt Katherine's presence.
"That's no way to treat a fellow friend, Elena." Katherine chuckled as she stretched out against the wooden bedroom door.
"Like I said, I've come to give you an offer regarding the Salvatore Brothers. You help me win over Damon and you get Stefan all you want. No strings attached, I assure you. Do we have an offer Elena?"
"Yes. You promise to leave after?" Elena asked as she relaxed slightly.
"Elena, Elena like I stated before, no strings attached. I will get out of your life as soon as possible." With that final word, Katherine was out the open window and Elena was left speechless.
(Santana's House for Sleepover)
Santana chuckled as the three girls lay on Santana's Queen sized bed.
"So Ray, give us all the gossip on Mr Damon Salvatore." Santana smirked and did little quotation marks when she said Damon's name.
"It's nothing Santana; we're just old friends... He asked me out though for this Saturday, he'll pick me up at 7.
"Two words ladies, Shopping Day!" Santana held up two fingers with a chuckle and went back to mixing the facial mask.
Rachel groaned at the mention of shopping and collapsed into the bed quilt.
"Come on Ray, it could be fun and besides, we could all get our nails done and get a haircut." Brittany clapped her hands and smiled innocently at Rachel doing her best puppy dog eyes.
Rachel sighed and tried to look away. "Fine I will go, but I'm not happy about it!" Rachel muttered as she lay on her back whilst Santana applied the face mask. For the rest of that night the girls watched movies and gossiped until early morning.
(The Next Day)
"Rachel Berry get your lazy ass out of bed!" Santana yelled as she dodged the multiple flying pillows, Courtesy of the cheery Rachel Berry of course.
"No fucking way Tana, it's too early." Rachel yelled back as she held the sheets in a tight, dead lock.
Santana and Brittany looked at each other with a nod and dragged the kicking Rachel along with the bed sheets into the shower. They then stopped at the door way as they left,
"You have 30 minutes to get ready before we leave. I'd use my time wisely if I was you." Santana stated as she narrowed her eyes before the setting the timer and leaving Rachel to get ready.
So Damon, I hear you have a date tonight with Rachel. Stefan said out of the blue as the two brothers sat down on the couch.
"Well aren't you a little curious George today little brother. You really do need to get out more often, perhaps a hobby? Gosh we really need to get you a cat." Damon smirked as he watched Stefan sigh.
"Fine Stefan, I asked Rachel out on a date for Saturday night. There is no need for you to go all Doctor Phil on me." Damon held his hands up in a surrender as he walked inside his bedroom.
The timer beeped just as Rachel walked down the stairs dressed in a white lace dress, a pair of black stockings and flats.
"Perfect timing Ray, you had me thinking I had to go all Lima Heights Adjacent on your ass." Santana said jokingly as she unlocked her car.
"Yeah, very funny Satan." Rachel retorted as she flopped into the front passenger seat and flipped on her sunnies.
"Puck is having a big party of Friday Night after the big game. Alcohol, loud music and did I mention alcohol?" Rachel smirked.
"Puckerman always throws the best parties and we are not going to miss this one." Santana added as the car pulled into the Mall parking lot.
The trio entered the busy Mall and headed straight to their target location, Victoria secrets. Santana and Brittany hastily dragged Rachel to a seat as the rummaged through the racks for the perfect lingerie.
"Try these on; it's time to put on a show." Santana smirked as she motioned to the group of guys outside the shop entrance.
Rachel groaned before slipping into the change rooms and into the red, lacy bra and underwear set.
"How do I look?" Rachel asked as she purposely did a full turn. The wolf whistles answered her question and the girls paid for a few other sets before heading to the next store, Ally fashion.
3 hours of shopping and the girls were exhausted. They then finally decided to head to the food courts.
"3 hours of shopping and you still haven't found a dress!" Santana exclaimed as she poured the salad dressing over her chicken salad.
"I'll just try and find something from my wardrobe." Rachel muttered as she sipped her ice tea whilst she played on her phone. She checked the time and held up her phone to show the girls the time as well.
"Let's head back to mine and I'll start to get ready." Rachel finished her meal and stood up with a couple of bags from Victoria Secrets and Diva.
When the girls pulled up into Rachel's house, they noticed a black box on her door step with a note attached to it. The note read:
Dear Rachel,
I heard you were having trouble finding a dress. I hope you like my choice,

Rachel gasped as she took out the red, knee length dress that was tight at the waist and then flowed out at the bottom.
"I didn't know my Duck spoke English and could write!" Brittany exclaimed as they headed inside and up the staircase which lead to Rachel's bedroom.
"I'll have a bath and you can make yourself at home. The Internet password is in the study and you can pretty much do whatever you like as long as there is no harm done to the house."
Damon hung the white fairy lights along the trees and made the final arrangements for his date with Rachel. He had even taken the freshest blood bags and prepared a small dinner. He then checked his watch, 2 hours until his date with Rachel and for once in his Vampire life, he was nervous like hell.
"Gosh Damon, you must really like Rachel. I've never seen you go to so many lengths for just one girl." Stefan walked out from the shadows and curiously glanced at the romantic decorations and additional touches.
"Yeah whatever Stefan, maybe I do love her but seriously mind your own business little brother." Damon growled as he narrowed his eyes at Stefan.
By the time Rachel got out of the bath, it was already 5pm and she only had two hours to get ready. Rachel blow dried her wet hair and slipped on the red dress. She glanced self consciously at her reflection before stepping out of the bathroom and into her bedroom where her friends sat on her bed.
"What do you think ladies?"
"You look smoking Ray, Damon won't know what hit him when he sees you." Santana smirked as she dragged Rachel to the hair and make-up station that Brittany had set up.
"Straightened?"
"Yeah you know the drill Brittany."
Whilst Santana worked on Rachel's hair, Brittany began to apply Rachel's natural look which would go perfectly with the red dress. It was 5 minutes before 7:00 and Rachel was freaking out.
"What if he changes his mind? I mean he could have all the girls in the world but he chose me..."
"Ray your beautiful! Don't think like that." Brittany scolded as she fastened Rachel's necklace.
"At 7:00pm exactly, the doorbell rang making Rachel even more of a bundle of nerves. It was now or never, Rachel thought as she walked down the staircase to where Santana and Brittany stood greeting Damon Salvatore.
"Wow Rachel, you look beautiful." Damon complimented as he took Rachel's hand and kissed it, just like the first time the two had met.
"Thank you, you look as a handsome as ever." Rachel smiled and accepted his arm.
"You kids have fun, and don't stay out too late." Santana said playfully as she hugged Rachel goodbye and gave a serious look to Damon.
"You hurt her and I will cut you."
"Bye Santana and Brittany. See you two later." Rachel gave a small wave as she and Damon stepped out into the cold night.
"So Damon, where are you taking me?" Rachel asked as Damon opened the car door for her. A true gentleman, she thought with a chuckle as she fastened her seatbelt.
Damon pulled up to the old forests which made Rachel even more nervous. Damon smirked and held a black blindfold in one hand and tied it tight but not too tight. He guided her through the trees and into the small opening where the picnic blanket lay and the LED fairy lights shimmered. He carefully untied the blindfold and nervously glanced to see Rachel's reaction.
"Damon... This is amazing; no one has ever done this much for me." Rachel responded, speechless as she glanced around her surroundings.
She sat on the picnic blanket and shivered as the breeze drifted through the trees, brushing against her bare arms and legs. Damon noticed her shivering and shrugged off his leather jacket, wrapping it around her. The two sat and talked for hours, with each second Rachel grew closer to Damon.
"Thank you for an amazing night Damon, I hope we can do this again." Rachel stated as Damon walked her up the concrete steps.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it Rach." Damon replied, the old nickname rolling off his tongue with ease he hadn't even noticed it.
Rachel reached up to kiss Damon's cheek when he gently leaned down, his lips gently brushing against hers with a sweet kiss. It wasn't a pushed or rough kiss, it was perfect.
"I'll see you on Monday Damon." Rachel smiled warmly as she opened the wooden door. Damon gave her his signature smirk with a quick wave as he opened his car door.
"How was it?" Brittany asked excitedly as she clapped her hands.
"Perfect Brittany... I can't describe how perfect and amazing it was."
Author's Note: So how do you like this chapter? I know it seems a bit rushed but I hope you enjoy it. The next chapter should hopefully be up in about 2-3 weeks as next week I am going on school camp which means I can't write the next chapter. I'm really excited about the next two chapters as the drama with Katherine finally begins so it shouldn't take me too long to write the next chapter as I now know which direction the story is going to take.
