Author's Note: So hey everyone this is chapter 6! I know this chapter is going to be very rushed and I'm going to skip ahead to Friday which will be very hectic e.g. but this is how I've decided to introduce the whole Katherine drama thingy. Once again I hope you review and give me feedback on this chapter and story.

A Missing Flame Chapter 6
"How was it?" Brittany asked excitedly as she clapped her hands.
"Perfect Brittany... I can't describe how perfect and amazing it was."
So Ray, where did he take you?" Santana asked as the girls lay in Rachel's bedroom.
"He took me to the old forests and organised a picnic with fairy lights. I've never felt like this before Santana. He makes me feel complete... Something I haven't felt for a very long time." Rachel yawned and the girls decided to go to bed.
(The Next Week, Friday Night) – I know I practically skipped a week but this is where it gets interesting.
The girls arrived at Rachel's house as they all got ready for Puckerman's party. Rachel wore a tight, strapless black dress with a pair of killer heels. Santana wore a red, revealing dress with a pair of red heels and Brittany wore a blue dress much like Santana's with matching heels.
"Are you girls ready to party?" Rachel asked as Santana drove to Puck's house. As they arrived they could hear the music blasting from the speakers and the strong smell of alcohol surrounding the house. The girls walked in through the house and were instantly greeted with a drink from Puck who had an arm around some random girl.
"You decided to show Satan. Well I must admit I was a bit surprised you managed to get Berry to join the fun." Puck stated as he remembered how the last party rolled out.
"Yeah whatever Puckerman, give me the booze and it'll be all good."
Rachel smirked as she accepted a cup filled with some sort of party drink. She glanced around the room and spotted just the person she was looking for.
"You were the last person I expected to see at a party, Mr Salvatore." Rachel stated as she watched Damon's face change into a smirk.
"Same with you Miss Berry, but then again you used to always like a good party." Damon chuckled and wrapped an arm around Rachel pulling her in against his hard chest.
"Looks like your friends are having a great time." Damon stated as he motioned to his left where Brittany was almost naked, dancing for some jocks and where Santana was doing body shots.
"Yeah, this is what happens every time we go to a party." Rachel groaned as excused herself to get Brittany to put her clothes back on.
"Brittany! Put your clothes back!" Rachel yelled over the loud music as she shoved through drunken football players.
She sighed as she pulled Brittany back to where Damon was standing with his typical smirk, with the addition of his laughing. Brittany immediately threw herself onto Damon whose face turned into pure horror and awkwardly held Brittany.
"Looks like Damon made a new friend." Rachel teased as she pulled Brittany off Damon, who sighed with relief,
"Ray come dance with me! I feel like dancing!" Brittany screamed as she dragged Rachel to the middle of the room to dance. Damon gave Rachel his "Look whose turn it is now" and crossed his arm as he watched Brittany make Rachel dance.
Meanwhile, Santana was in lip lock with some jock as the people around them watched and cheered the two on.
Hours later, the trio were ready to leave; both Brittany and Santana were in a terrible drunken state which left Rachel as driver.
"I'll see you tomorrow Rach." Damon kissed Rachel on the lips before stepping into his car.
As Rachel carried Brittany to the car and fastened her in, she felt a weird feeling in the pit of her stomach, like someone was watching her every move. She shrugged off the feeling and climbed into the driver's seat and reversed out. As she drive through the secluded road surrounding the Old Woods she came to a sharp halt as someone stood in the middle of the road, she swerved off the road hitting narrowly missed a tree. She sensed a familiar presence, Katherine...
"I know you're here Katherine, what do you want?" Rachel asked as she made sure Brittany and Santana were okay in their passed out state.
"Well, well, Miss Berry you seem to have something that belongs to me..." Katherine teased as she stepped out from the shadows.
"Damon isn't your property Katherine, I know I'm not the first person to remind you that." Rachel remarked as she hissed at Katherine.
"You're smarter than that Rach; you know that when I want something I always get it, one way or another... Take this as a warning, not only will I kill you but everyone you love." Katherine ran towards the car and grabbed Santana.
"Get off her Katherine! She hasn't done anything to you."
Rachel grabbed Santana out of Katherine's hands and placed her behind her before throwing Katherine against a tree. Unlike Katherine, Rachel fed on animal blood meaning she would never be as strong as Katherine.
"You have been warned; don't think I won't find you. I will always find you Rachel, just you wait and see."
Katherine was gone in a flash and Rachel was left frozen... She glanced at Santana and Brittany sleeping peacefully in the car and groaned as she drove back to her empty house. What was she meant to do? Forget her love for Damon and protect her friends from the pure evil of Katherine or fight and risk losing everyone and everything she loves. She carried Santana and Brittany to the guest room and grabbed her phone.
"Damon... Something happened tonight and I really need to talk to you. Please call me back as soon as possible." Rachel pleaded into the phone as she glanced at the dark night on the balcony. Her phone vibrated in her hand as the screen lit up, she read the screen and sighed with relief, on my way it read.
"Rach what's wrong?" Damon asked worriedly as he joined Rachel on the balcony.
"Damon, Katherine followed me home tonight and I almost crashed my car, she wants you Damon and she warned me that she will hurt everyone I love... Damon I can't just watch as she kills all my friends because you know what, they are all that I have left now. Please don't hate me for this but we can't be together Damon, you know Katherine and once she wants something she will never stop until she gets exactly what she wants. I want you to know one thing Damon, I love you, I love everything about you and you know what? Maybe one day we will be together and maybe one day you will be my happy ending but right now this isn't our time..." Rachel turned away as tears ran down her cheeks.
"Rachel hear me out! We can fight her Rachel; I will never stop loving you. You don't have to do this because Katherine is Stefan and mine's battle, something you should have never been involved in for the first place." Damon grabbed Rachel's hand as he pulled her into his arms.
"Damon, l know I can't protect everyone... Santana and Brittany are my family and if they got hurt because of me, I don't think I could live with all the guilt." Rachel sighed as she sank against the wall.
"Trust me Rachel; I will do whatever I can to protect you and your friends... Promise me one thing though, that you'll never leave me." Damon held Rachel's hands as the two glanced at the bedroom door.
They had no idea what lay ahead of them from that point in time...
