Octavius POV
Chapter 28: A successful attack
"Jedediah agreed with the plan," I said to Agrippa.
It was some weeks later since Agrippa and Jacob got taken by the giants and the bond between Agrippa ad me was improved since then. I told Agrippa a lot about Jedediah and me, like we train together with the sword once in the week. First Agrippa looked surprised at me, but then he asked me if he could come too for one time. Of course I knew exactly why Agrippa wanted to come. He wanted to see Jacob again and talk to him one more time. It makes me worried to know that Agrippa calls Jacob his friend or guardian so openly. Fortunately he understood why I disagreed: it would be better if they were just enemies and nothing more. Agrippa nodded one time and said it would indeed be for the best. But after that he made me swear I would tell him everything about Jedediah henceforth.
Finally, one step at the time, we started to trust each other again. We can look each other in the eyes without thinking about all the lies in our thoughts. And now Agrippa came up with a plan, which I suggested to Jedediah. Actually, Agrippa admitted to me, it was Jacob's plan. It was Jacob who said we should work together with the lions and so we would. Even though we could never be sure if the lions really work together with us. It was just a gambling.
Still Jedediah and I got taken away by Cecil towards the lion's cave. We told Cecil we didn't want Agrippa and Jacob to be in danger again, so we agreed with his suggestion to help him with the lions henceforth.
"If you could also distract the monkey for me, it would be even easier for me," Cecil said before he dumped us on the ground. We stood up quickly and we walked into the lion's cave side by side.
Not only the lions were there, there were also other big African animals you didn't want to face as miniature. Jedediah and I looked at each other for a moment and we both knew it was too late to turn back. So we kept on walking straight towards the lions, while Cecil calmly closed the cave. It was time for our revenge. Revenge for all those moments the giants hurt, humiliated or belittled us. Just time for revenge.
"Come on lions, get him!" Jedediah yelled suddenly.
"Go, and tear him apart," I went a little further. The lions reacted immediately and jumped towards Cecil.
Like we hoped what would happened the lions and other animals didn't care about us. They all ran towards Cecil, who hadn't got a clue. Cecil expected to have more time to close the gates, but because we shooed the lions, he only got less. It had been a successful attack and actually I didn't care much if Cecil would survive or not. Without looking back or listening to Cecil's cries, Jedediah and I silently walked away through the other gate.

"I think we have a problem," Jedediah said after we sat beside each other in silence for a while. I looked at Jedediah and I already knew what he was talking about. "Jacob seems to forget the differences between enemies and friends," Jedediah continued. "I told him about our weekly training and he asked me if he could come too for one time. He wants to meet Agrippa, or Marcus like he calls him, again."
"Agrippa asked me the same question, but we cannot allow it," I said strict. "The more time they spend together, the stronger their bond will grow. They better remember they are still enemies from each other."
"I agree with you, but wouldn't the same rules apply for us?" Jedediah asked on a emotionless tone I am not use from him.
"We have never been friends," I said angry and jumped up. Jedediah looked at me for a few seconds and then looked away at the ground. I sat besides Jedediah again and a moment of silence past.
"It is better we don't see each other every week anymore," Jedediah broke the silence. "We started to act like friends a little to much."
I nodded one time: "It would indeed be for the best." It was painful to admit, but we both knew it was better this way. "But...," I said hesitating, not sure if it was wise to say this now. "Please, come to the fountain for one more time. Next week will be the last training then."
Jedediah looked at me again and it took a while before he finally nodded approvingly.
For a long time Jedediah and I just sat beside each other in a painful silence. Hours past before Gus finally took us back to our boxes. His face was very pale and without us asking he started to tell us about Cecil. Something in his tone told us he knew we were to blame. But Cecil wouldn't die from the attack, but he was badly injured. Jedediah and I wouldn't see him for a long time. And even when Cecil would be fully recovered, the giants would never ask the miniatures for help ever again.
Chapter 28 is finished.
First of all I apologize for being late this week. I know I'm one day too late, but I didn't really feel like writing yesterday. XI
Secondly, I know this isn't my best chapter. It's kinda dark and short. To make it even worse it also poor written I think. So, I also apologize for that.
Anyway, I hope you can still enjoy this little chapter. :)
