A/N: BEWARE OF THE LONG AUTHORS NOTE
I know that I haven't updated this in a few months so sorry for the long wait. Though due to my lack of knowing what's going to happen later in the story (I didn't plan very well haha) and me being plain bored. I have not been able to get this out very quick. I basically wrote half of this chapter at least a few months ago but when my source crashed. I got it back on but everything was GONE. So due to me being lazy, I haven't written the chapter again up until now. Please excuse me for the long, unnecessary wait.
And I have realised that I've written Kyoko a little OOC. Correction: A lot OOC. This is basically due to the fact that I write characters the way I believe they should be, or the way I think they are. So the thoughtful of others and emotional Kyoko is her basic personality on what I believe she should be like. Not very much prior to the anime or manga. So I'm trying to fix that.
Anyway, enjoy this chapter!

Chapter Eight- "That Simple Guidence."

There it was, a bright light, it's yellow was a flamelike glow. It's span was around, by Homura's eye. As least 50 meters.

Homura watched from above, her eyes had gone wide slightly at the scene. "What is that?" She felt a familiar presence surround her, a presence of a person, she just couldn't put her finger on it.

It's not Madoka, I know that for a fact. If she were here, nobody would be able to see her. Neither would I. So then...

The purple eyes guided it's way down to the centre of the light, she flew closer and had to squint her eyes from the glare. "Dammit. I can't see."

Homura paused and gave an internal nod. She held her wings out and swooped down towards the ground, she felt her bangs and fringe fly out of her face in an instant as she wind blew, adrenalin coursing through her veins. As Homura reached she ground, she flipped and and landed on the ground gracefully, but then immediately had to take a step back at the power pulsing from the light.

The dark haired girl took a step forward and her wings dissolved, leaving violet sparkles glittering in the air. She had no trouble with the first few metres but then as she was reaching the center, the light became much more blinding, and pulsing energy became much stronger, nearly knocking Homura off her feet with each step she took.

What the hell is this? Homura thought as she held her arm in front of her face to keep the force of the power from knocking her out. She eyes something inside the glare. And caught the figure of a person, it was a different shade of yellow, a darker shade. Standing with a straight posture. Who is-?

Suddenly Homura's foot lost grip on the ground, she shrieked ((I know, so unlike her but who wouldn't do that in this situation?)) as she felt her body get flung high into the air.

Homura couldn't keep focus, the world around her was spinning do fast that the dizziness was starting to catch up with her. She snapped her eyes fully open and took action. Her glowing wings formed from her back and abruptly stopped Homura's body. Homura flapped her wings to keep her hovering in the air, she then straightened up, her arms by her side and her legs close together. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

Then in an instant she folded her wings around herself until the dark haired girl was not shown, like a capsule, and she plummeted down. With full force, Homura had a calm expression as the body fell.

Right before she hit the ground her wings folded out fully as Homura drifted to the ground. As her feet hit, she moved her wings in front of herself so that the force of the energy would not affect her, also so that she could see.

"Yes." She stated triumphantly. Homura strode through the light, power radiating furiously. She dove her foot into the ground and paused as she noticed something. That figure again. As the dark haired girl walked closer, the darker shade faded away slightly so that Homura could see the figure.

I was a girl, she wore a brown corset and black boots, a noticeable feature was her blonde hair, she girl moved her head and stared right at Homura, with glowing yellow eyes.

Homura's eyes widened as she realised who it was. "Tomoe-san?!"

The white dimension was plain, it was one colour. It didn't phase for miles. It never finished. It was a prison for beings who disobeyed.

In the middle of this, lying lifelessly on the ground, was a crimson haired girl, her red eyes only slightly open.

Kyoko.

Kyoko didn't say anything, she didn't flinch.

You there?

No answer.

It's funny really, how much longer I have to keep you cooped up like this. It's a real pain, me having to deal with your friends.

The red head stayed still.

Kyoko. The mans voice was much more serious now, it echoed in Kyoko's mind as a pure nuisance. She chose to ignore it.

He noticed what she looked like. If her eyes were closed then she would look dead. She didn't move a muscle from her spot, splayed out on the ground. Her face was pale and her usual fire filled eyes were now hollow and dark.

You look the same as back then. Remember that day? After that nightmare, you had those same eyes. You can't help but cause trouble for other people, can't you?

"You're right."

What?

Kyoko's voice was cracked and raspy from lack of speaking for ages. She moved onto her back and gazed into the white. "I can't help but cause trouble for other people. I'm a burden, I can't help people. Whatever I wish for turns into despair. It'd be better if I didn't exist."

What are you-?

But he was cut off when Kyoko raised her pale and lifeless arm, she stretched her hand out so that she could see pure white between her fingers. "Kill me."

Kyoko. You're joking right? He sounded honestly taken aback. The redhead dropped her arm to her side. "What's this?" She smirked, "I thought that you knew everything."

The man was silent. Kyoko felt his presence disappear. She rolled back onto her side and curled into a ball, she let her eyelids close and her smirk faded.

"Tomoe-san! Tomoe-san!" Homura yelled at the wind. Mami simply stood there, not seeming to take any notice of the girl shouting at her, she moved her eyes from Homura to in front of her. The blonde took one step before leaping into the air, leaving a bright yellow trail of light behind her.

Homura watched in shock before gritting her teeth together. She jumped off the ground as her wings gracefully unfolded and she soared off after Mami.

The dark haired girl caught up to the blonde, her hair streaming out behind her. Mami glanced at her, Homura found herself focusing on the blazing yellow eyes. It's like she's possessed. She thought. "Tomoe-san! Wake up!" She shouted, her wings flapping against the wind.

Mami again pointed her gaze to the sky and shot up like a bullet, Homura no longer being able to keep up this time. Homura stared for a few seconds before clenching her fist. "Dammit, what is this... It doesn't make any sense."

In a dark alley on the edge of Mitakihara, the sun was the only light, shining faintly, creating a warm glow.

The sky lit up with a bright yellow before fading again, catching the notice of a man, he was sitting on a crate, his glass staff rested beside him. He was slumped over, his arms on his knees.

"You look defeated."

The man lifted his head up and scowled at the Incubator, casually lying on the ground in front if him. "I am not defeated."

"I didn't say you were, I said you looked like it."

He sighed softly.

"I see that Tomoe Mami has awakened." The Incubator said, the man narrowed his strangely coloured eyes. "Not fully." He said in a matter-of-factly manner. "If it was full awakening then the reaction would be much more intense."

Kyubey paused. "You seem disturbed, did something happen with Sakura Kyoko?"

The man's eyes became dark and he put his head down. "She wanted me to kill her."

"She's suicidal? I didn't expect you to go this far."

He growled at the creature, the Incubator took a step back, choosing its words carefully. "Have you given her too many nightmares? I didn't think she was that fragile."

"Me neither. I wasn't that surprised when I saw her eyes. I have seen them many times before." He said bitterly, clasping his pale hands together.

"So what are you going to do now?" Kyubey eyes the mysterious man. "Akemi Homura has spotted Tomoe Mami, do you know where Mami is now?"

"Probably looking for Sakura-san. That was her motivation for her recent awakening in the first place." He spoke casually as he stood up, took his staff and spun it in his fingers. He added with a slasher smile:

"I am going to see the latest, that simple guidance."

He rose his staff with tender movements. A flash of light resonated brightly, the man was no longer there when it faded.

The Incubator sighed before turning and walking into the shadows.

Not a single thought raced through Mami's mind right now, just a lot of golden patterns filtering through her head making her dizzy. She felt her body being pulled along at the speed of light, her vision was fuzzy and unfocused.

Just as a single thought entered her head, her senses came back, although her sight wasn't working, she could hear an annoying buzzing sound. Her body had a weird tingling sensation, it was only seconds later when Mami figured out that it was power and started to panic.

What is this?! Mami paused her thoughts and remembered the last thing that happened, she had a strong new will to save her kohai, then glanced at her soul gem, it was glowing, and then it went black.

Maybe I should try speaking, she opened her mouth. "Hello?" She let out a gasp of shock when she found out that her voice echoed very loudly. "What's happening?"

Tomoe Mami.

Mami gasped as she recognised the voice. "It's you! That man who called me and imprisoned Sakura-san!"

And you came to set her free right? I would expect that from you.

"Why did I pass out though? What happened to me?"

I can't tell you that right now, just save Sakura-san.

Mami scowled slightly, before her vision suddenly went dark again and her senses went away, leaving her once again with no thoughts.

The Sakura Church was the first place Homura thought of looking, for she thought it would be the first place Mami would go to find her crimson haired kohai.

Homura stepped through the grass and glanced up at the orange sky, the sunset sky that still left a trace of that yellow light. The dark haired girl frowned and walked into the church, a trail of coldness following her every move.

She felt a light breeze blow a few strands of her dark hair in front of her face. Her expression turned cold immediately and she tensed at a familiar feeling presenting itself to her. What is this? She thought to herself.

Homura scanned the ruined church with her purple eyes. She's not here. Mami's expression hours before flashed through her mind. Cold, completely emotionless, those glowing lemon coloured eyed were the main features, leaving faint trails from them. Homura shook her head.

What that feeling was didn't make Homura nervous. No, she has given up the nervous side of her long ago. She faced the presence with determination and willingness.

I'm here to find Tomoe-san, where could she have gone? What was wrong with her? So much power that was radiating from her... Homura suddenly remembered what it had felt like, being swept away by masses of energy, that bright pink light, that selfless wish. She felt a shiver run down her spine just thinking about it. It wasn't as powerful as that, I can tell from the energy patterns. Although it certainly was powerful, how did Tomoe-san end up like that? Maybe some new found determination or, no that can't be it. Maybe-

Homura was stopped in her wheel of thought by a sudden burst of power reeling it's way through the ruined church, along with yet another flash of light. This caught Homura off guard as she felt her body slam against the moulded brick wall, a rocket of pain shot up her body.

Unable to keep herself on her feet, the dark haired magical girl slumped against the wall and found herself sitting on the ground, she squinted her eyes from the white light.

It's white light, so it's not Tomoe-san, she thought. Wait a second- "Ah!" Homura held her non- injured arm above her face as the pulsating energy pushed her body even further against the wall.

Homura then noticed the light changing colour, from white to grey, then a light pink, then to a deep red. It stayed that colour for a while. Homura moved her hand from her face to the wall, clasping it tight to not make herself be pushed any further. She has no other choice to duck her head under before she went blind from the light.

When the light finally faded; everything was silent, no more wind or sounds of glass cracking under the pressure.

Homura's body was crumpled against the brick wall, her hand fell to the ground as she slowly lifted her head up. "What happened?" She spoke quietly, a slight pain escaping her tone. The purple eyed girl tried to stand up, but pain racked her body, she held back a help as she sent her body back down.

Just when Homura thought that there wouldn't be any more distractions, there was a sudden shatter in the roof as a yellow bolt rocketed down to the ground. Homura watched side eyed, she noticed that light looked familiar. The light faded and revealed a blonde with drill hair.

"Tomoe-san!" Homura yelled to her but was cut off by the pain in her sides. Mami remained her emotionless expression until suddenly the yellow glow in her eyes faded and she gasped, her expression now only shock before that faded slightly. Mami eyed the battered Homura and worry filled her eyes. "Akemi-san!" The blonde ran over to Homura and knelt beside her. "What happened to you?"

"There was this white, no red light, it's energy knocked me against the wall, I think I broke a few ribs." Homura's voice came out in raspy gasps. Mami took immediate action and put one arm under Homura's shoulder and lifted her up, ignoring the grunts of pain from her younger comrade. "What happened to me?" Mami asked sternly.

"You don't remember?"

"If I remembered, I wouldn't be asking now wouldn't I?"

Homura mentally slapped herself. "I was looking for Kyoko, and a large, bright yellow light came from the beach."

"And...?"

"It was coming from you."

Mami paused. "What?"

"I decided to get closer, and then I saw you in the center, your eyes were glowing golden, you looked possessed, but then you disappeared. You really don't remember?"

The older blonde shook her head. "The last thing I remember was looking at my soul gem, it was glowing."

Homura's eyes gave off a thoughtful expression. "What was that then?"

"I'm really not su-"

Seconds of silence came, Homura glanced up at Mami, her gaze was at the altar of the church, her eyes wide with shock. Purple eyes followed her gaze until she was as well filled with shock.

At the Altar was a person, lying flat out on the brown table. It was a girl, she had pale skin and a thin body from lack of nutrition. She wore a thin red dress up to her knees, her hair was long and spread out around the table, her hands were clasped at her chest, almost in prayer.

At that very second, Mami and Homura thought the exact same thing.

Kyoko.

A/N: Sorry for the cliffhanger and the fact that this chapter is shorter than the others, but I'm being lazy and I want to get on with the story.
Okay I am very disappointed with this chapter to be honest. To me it came out poorly written and lack of describing. I re read it and it is very much below my standards. I will try a lot harder next chapter.
And the new movies out! I haven't watched it yet, and I can't see it in my country. However I do know the ending from reading spoilers on the wiki. And I am going to make sure that the ending for my fanfic is NOT like the ending to the movie.
Now for the lack of reviews, I have now set a guideline. I will not release a new chapter until I get at least 4 more reviews, I know it isn't many but it's better than nothing. So no reviews equals no more chapters, got that?
Now I've gotta to to sleep, half past one in the morning and I'm about to pass out.
